BEST OPie Ability Ring WoW Addon Guide

this add-on might be the number one most efficient add-on in all of World of Warcraft I just made a key bindings video last week and this add-on of Opie allowed me to be so efficient that I could reduce the amount of things I had to bind because I could bind them into one Circle and with a simple press of a button I have with one button I'm pressing a button on my keyboard right now I'm pressing a single button on my keyboard and this pops up around my mouse cursor look at that how great is that and I can select which one I want and if I don't select anything I don't select anything I can Hearth I can dial around Hearth I can Wormhole generator I can use my Cape to teleport I can teleport or I could open my character page and my backpack all in one button press one button press and I open my backpack like that or I could open up my spell book and there's my spell book I could close my spell book I could switch my talent specialization without having to do anything it's already switching it right there to Havoc I don't want to switch to Havoc who wants to be havoc and I can switch back and forth between whatever specs you have right here and you can fully customize all of these to be whatever you want and as I've just shown you can have it be where it actually activate dates on a button press and you see how you can barely see the little add-on wheel come up but it just automatically presses as a button or I could do the other one where it doesn't do anything if I press it unless I move my mouse towards something I want but wait there's more you can have World marker buttons where you can put the world markers down on the ground if you're a raid leader you can have a Target marker dummies where I could set a Target marker to the skull there's this it's now skull I could change this I could sweep it down the ax I could change this sweep it down the triangle and with a simple flick of a wrist I can change the target dummies targets to be whatever I want or I can swipe it right here to this little claw icon and clear them all and again all I'm doing is pressing a button to get this wheel to come up and I have a lot of choices that are fully customizable and my favorite personal use for this is I have a simple button where this button I press before a Mythic plus dungeon or before rage is about to pull I have all of my pre-raid consumables right here I can summon my little guy I can use my trinket to buff somebody at my food consumable invisibility potion just in case if we're running a Mythic plus I need to skip something I have my flasks here on my oil oils all of my stuff here is on a simple button I just press shift Z and this thing comes up and I can pre get everything ready I don't have to be moving through my my menus down here get a whole action bar ready for it or have anything on my screen at all so if that got you interested at all this is Opie so you type slash o Pi o p i e slash OPI and brings you up the Opie screen here time out hope I just went through an update so I wanted to make sure to let you guys know and calm your minds about if it looks different than what's in this video this video was filmed before the pre-patch but the pre-patch just fixed everything it's now all working all of the interface looks the exact same these are the options just like before with the profiles the key bindings are all the same there and then you also have the custom rings that you can also customize in the same exact way so it all works just as before okay let's set it up and this is again fully customizable with everything you see all of my options here and again I would highly recommend set up a profile make sure you have a profile it starts off as default create a profile name it something that you have and I I've I'm 6.0 right now because I like to keep mine and update them so I can keep track of if I've updated them or not especially through patches and expansions and all that kind of stuff right so this is my 100 up-to-date profile I might make a 7.0 whenever dragonflight comes out or whatever right um and this now and when I make a new character I activate the profile and we're good to go so I make your profile heavily recommend and Center at Mouse means whenever I press this button uh It Centers it at where my mouse is and my mouse is at the center of that button you can have your screen be the center of it and where the circle pops up at the screen and you can press and hold it and this would be like right here and you could then select and click on whichever one you want I don't like that personally because I think it's more efficient to center it around your mouse so I keep it there quick actions ring at the center so whenever you saw I did this action and you see how the it can quickly press it right there I make sure that that's selected for quick actions to activate those we'll talk about those more in a second I don't select anything else here make rings top most means the very highest thing that we've picked from a selection here is going to be the top thing here so it starts off at the top and works its way around clockwise starts at the very top goes around so I like that keeps things organized these other options don't matter too much but one thing down here in the bottom right is you can have it be where I'll use this one this one you can have it where if you click this and slide this all the way out it does this weird swirl thing at the end I think that's extremely distracting and I don't like that at all so I uh you can slide it all the way down and then it just does this like normal or if you deselect it and you have it all the way up here it like comes in and then Fades so it like comes in and then Fades I really don't like that because I'm holding down the button down I'm letting it go really don't like that either you can make it faster I guess and you can have it be like Zoom bang bang but again I like it to be nothing I just like it to come up very simple and there we go that's the whole entire uh back back end setup of everything so ring bindings you can create as many of these as you want it does come with some default things for you already if you want to take those and run with it but these are the default things that you have the num and you this is where you set your bindings up for it so this is purely bindings you will only have like four or so of these right now but you can set your bindings up here as to whatever you want them to be another cool thing right here though is right here is Target markers I have this bound to my mouse button I have one of these I have one of these Mouse buttons and it's set to the back most middle button right here so that I can just simply squeeze my thumb like this and the raid things come up because I like to Mark targets quickly whenever I tank so I have it in a very simple spot there but I'm also trying it at a different spot that it's I want to try out somewhere else so instead if I want this to be somewhere else you can click this little right arrow and this is a macro to open it for yourself so you can just copy this macro and then if I open my macros here here's my macro of that macro and I can take this and I can bind it to anything I want down here so I've put it as right here and now I also have a second option where I can press my mouse button here or I can hold down control and press this mouse button so that's another option I have for it but the interesting part here is if you use the macro I'm I'm going to press the button you can't see this on the keyboard but I'm pressing the button now I'm letting it go and you see how it's not selecting and being a snapping and just leaving it and going away so if I have it right here whenever I'm on my mouse I just press the button and it goes away as soon as I let go I can hold down the button and let go of the button you see what I'm saying but anyway if you use this binding it is going to come up there and you're gonna have to manually select it for it to go away so that's just a little disclaimer there but back to Opie so we know the general settings we have all the bindings right here but how do you customize these Rings here's where you're going to do all of that you're going to go to the Rings and you're going to go all the way in here now if you choose one of these and you can have it set for all characters or you can have it be more specifically horror specifically this character specifically this class you can set it up specifically if I do have it something set up to where it's like it's like that now there's gonna be an icon next to it to say it's only specifically for this thing but in general I like all of mine to be the same for all of my characters so there we go so now they are all the same and there is no the specific icons next to them right so let's go and pick an easy one let's do the travel ring right here so this ring is my travel ring so as you see here if I press that button I have four options Hearthstone dollar and Hearthstone Wormhole and Cape right but here you see I have Hearthstone dollar and Hearthstone Wormhole cape and then there's this astral recall thing that's weird I don't have astral recall it's because if I am on a shaman it will show up on a shaman so if I go to my Shaman character it will show astral recall but it won't show this item that I have specifically on this character but if another character has this item it will same with the dollar and Hearthstone Etc same with the death Knights death gate right here ability you can just put any sort of travel Transportation ability here and if that character has it there you go I also accidentally just teleported myself that's interesting we're gonna have the rest of the video be here anyway so all you have to do to be able to make this is add a new slice and you have so many options here that you can literally put anything on this I could go to items and then I could look through my items here here's a Hearthstone I could grab a Hearthstone dragon on over here drop it in there in fact let me show you right here I'm going to take this dalaran Hearthstone I'm gonna I'm gonna remove it off the thing you can just drag it and drag it into this whole thing right here so if I want to add it back there I could go to items and I could find my dollar and Hearthstone there it is drag it in drop it in if you want to organize this I could put the dollar in Hearthstone here at the top and I can put the Garrison Hearthstone next my main Hearthstone should be at the very top and then Wormhole generator and I can actually organize Things based on things that every character has things that specific classes have and then certain items you can organize as much as you want and you can mix and match things with other across all things if there's an ability of a certain spell that you have whatever you want to put in here you can make literally everything you don't have to categorically organize it very cleanly like I have you can just put anything you want in there another really cool option if I go here and I go to the character option here I have a macro here I will put this macro in the description but this is a toggle bag so it toggles your bags on and off that's how if you didn't know how I was doing this whole thing it is a macro that I'm running to pull up my character sheet and my bags in one button press so my F2 button brings up those things and F2 will also close it now sometimes you might be in a weird spot because you've opened up your bag which I'll have another macro 4 down the description for just the bag toggle version I love that to toggle my bags or the button press That's F1 one and if I ever get in a weird spot where I press f2 and it puts both up and it toggles all on one and off the other I can just open my bags up again so F1 and F2 either pull them both up together or individually close my bag but anyway I digress that's a very quality of life thing for me uh this is a macro for a spell button open Macro for talents and this is from your talent specialization you can go in here under the miscellaneous section in Opie and you can put whatever your class specialization is and you can put you know if you're a druid and have all four you can put all four of them in there extra action button could be a game changer I personally have my extra action button bound already but if I didn't I probably would make an Opie for it and be able to do that also for miscellaneous you can make a new macro and you can actually click this drag it in here here we go I'll put it right there and now I can actually type in a brand new macro instead of clogging up my main macro interface that already has too many macros there in the first place you can make your own macro within OPI and you can put whatever macro you want here super efficient now here's the thing though as you've let me get rid of this okay if I go back up to this you'll notice that in the options section I have allow as quick cast action so that whenever I press two and I just press it it instantly pulls it up right and you see that there's it's already defaulting to that purple up arrow and you can see the circle is colored in it's already defaulting there whenever I do that okay but if I go to my other macro if I go back to the travel macro I have here or the travel Pi if you want to call it that and the overall settings of this thing before you go into any specifics here you can see I have this for all characters the bindings for it is the caps lock that's a whole nother conversation I don't want to have any rotation whenever it comes in pre-select the quickjaction I have that selected even though I don't have any of these be quick actions you'll see what I'm talking about here in a second you can hide the ring embed it into other things by default First Slice whenever I don't mess with any of these stuff in general you can also share this and Export it uh which I do have for my patrons any of my patrons that support me link for that down in the description I have this add-on export and every single add-on my entire user interface is downloadable by my patrons as a thank thank you I do make these videos to help you guys customize your UI but if you want to steal my UI straight off the bat join patreon and you're able to get it there I also will help you individually with whatever you want and a lot of cool stuff and we got some people already coming in and I love helping you guys out so anyway this whole thing I have pre-selected quick section slice but then if I go in here you see how this option of allows quick action none of them the allow for quick action none of the allow for quick actions are selected because I've purposely not done that but let's say I do this let's say I allow for quick action right now whenever I close this out if I press my travel button you see how it's Now default oh sorry I move my mouse you see how it's now defaulting with that green upwards it's now defaulting to my Hearthstone now it's not available because I accidentally just hear but you see the idea and now it is now defaulting to that whenever I press the button instead of the zero default so for my at my consumable page right here I don't want to actually default and press this button and accidentally eat a food every time I press this button if I wanted to have a quick action I could in fact I'll show this button now so this was my healing potion button I had healing potions I had health Stones I had any sort of consumable that would help me be able to drink something to get health I had this as a quick action so right now this is set up where if I press it and you have a hell Stone it's a quick action let me show you here we go so I have this I also have healing potions on here or if I have or sorry Mana potions if I have playing another class if I'm playing a carrion and I actually a perfect example let me use my curing ability here and whenever this carrying ability comes and you can see he gives me the potion and now look now let me show right here now you see I have that vial and I can drink that vial now and as you see it's a quick action because under this vial I have allow as quick action but under the healing potion I don't have allow us quick action right but let's say I turn both of the quick actions on so this is a quick action and this is a quick action oh no what's gonna happen it's gonna default so I just learned something if you have multiple things set for allow as quick action how it works is I press the button and you see right now it's defaulting to this potion down there but if I go and select this one and I leave it as this from now on it's defaulting to that so it defaults to the most recently used quick action Choice you've made interesting I did not know that but let's say in this case I don't have a health potion and I also have sorry health stone I don't have it set for quick action if I did have a hellstone pop into my bag that might be the priority so in general how I usually use these things is I will set it up like this to where if I have a hellstone it'll prioritize that and if not then it'll go to this but I can also delete these here and then now it goes back to only having the hellstone but also in general I'm trying to show different applications of this if you want to use this I do not recommend using health potions as this because I don't want to be in combat oh God I need a health potion and then I press it and then I have the presence flick and all that kind of stuff I didn't really like it so now my health potion health stone is one potion is two and my carrion vial is three as far as my keybinds go now but this is a potential option to be able to help limit down some things because if we go now to my consumables and this is every consumable here I also have priest Fort buff here mind Vision different things of different classes that have their class Buffs battle shout for warriors you can put that here so you just here we go we're about to fight and cast my Buffs and put them all there instead of having to worry about a keybind for it I can just bake that keybind into everything else that I already have and it's in my buff wheel I also made a really cool customer with a transmog and toy so I have a bunch of trans I have my transmog Yak my grand Expedition Yak right here so if I press B on my keyboard I have it set to quickcast as you see here allows a quick action and now I'm on my transmog Mount awesome great but if I hold down b instead of defaulting to the yak I could use my Blazing Wings and now I have my cool toy or I can turn into air Cobra and now I look like a bird person okay cool also on this I have a macro set up to it bring up my appearances page so I can bring up my heirlooms pet Journal mounts all that kind of stuff all baked into this macro I also have a super simple group macro to where I press this button and if the default is open the group pane let me let me let me close this out so the default is open the group you know the finder group page this is my f4 on my keyboard I press this it opens it okay cool great um F3 opens the social Pane and I can see that you know my friends list and stuff but I have my best friend that I play with uh I have I want to invite them so what I did is I asked my best friend what each of their characters were and I made a macro for slash invite that character so if they're online I can just press F4 and drag my button down here Let It Go and I am now inviting all of my my friend you can see you can't see it because my camera's blocking it but it says invite invite invite invite now he's not online so nobody got invited but there you go and this same button is my ready check button so I can I can all right ready for group and slide down that's my ready check so it's group efficiency at its finest so to quickly give you an idea of what each of my things I have I have an adventure uh have here for my adventure thing I honestly don't use this one as much anymore it has my adventures and my achievements there uh character page we talked to you about that one uh consumables page love that one Focus thing I have Focus where I have a quick action Focus so if I press it and right now for me this is a control space bar so if I control spacebar I set my focus to that person if I control spacebar drag it down to the left it clears my focus simple enough and let's say I Target this person control spacebar it's a real quick like I just slammed my hand down control spacebar and that sets my focus it's very simple and efficient let's say I Target somebody else or I'm not even looking that way anymore I'm looking over here and I want to Target my focus I can control spacebar drag to the right and it targets my focus and that's a super simple all-in-one Focus pie so that has saved myself for one button to be all of it clearing it canceling it targeting it everything absolutely brilliant I talked about the group macro that I have set up for the group macro and there it is you can see my friend there there we go I have a simple macro to invite any of his characters healing Mac we talked about not liking Target Target markers is actually default in the UI we talked about the transmog situation travel is the first thing I showed you guys and World markers done so I hope now that you've tasted a slice of this op High add-on it is so
