so over the past couple of weeks I've been getting a lot of emails about how do you take this off of your Glock and how do you install this part on your Glock and when I was going through my videos I realized that although I've done videos on how to do this kind of stuff all those how to's were hidden within the polymer 80 builds so I wanted to do a dedicated video on how to completely disassemble and reassemble your Glock 19 or Glock 17 or your polymer 80 and things like that if you're just curious about how you reassemble it you know maybe you've got all your parts in for your polymer 80 build I'll put a timestamp below so you can see the reassembly but right off the bat I just got this my Brownells coyote tan polymer 80 frame and I got this brand new slide from Maple Leaf firearms we've done a review on them in the past but he just sent me this slide and this slide was an OEM slide and it has what's called a stone wash nitrated finish and it's very interesting even the barrel has the stone washing it is just to die for but we're just going to be using this because this is just what happened to be beside me when I was you know looking for my stuff so first things first you're gonna check it make sure there's no ammo in the gun pull your trigger in a safe direction all right now to take it apart you got these tabs right here the way I do it is I either grab the rear sights or in this case the RMR pull back just about a quarter-inch pull down on the tabs and let it go home just like that set your frame to the side we're gonna take the slide apart first so to take the slide apart I usually just use a punch and what we'll do is sew right in here you just want to pull this part up stick your punch on top of this plastic piece push down and keep your thumb right here as you let go as that is spring-loaded and these can come flying out set your back plate to the side pull your striker out like that take this out right here get your barrel out you just take your recoil spring here push up on the hood boom there's your barrel there's a closer look at that stone wash looks pretty good huh then to get your extractor out you just push down on the safety plunger and it just falls out and then turn it over your plunger comes out alright slides done boom see how quickly and easy that is once you know what you're doing I know when I first got into Glocks I wasn't sure on how to do a lot of stuff and I look to youtube to do a lot of this stuff now we're gonna take this frame apart this frame will vary from an OEM Glock 19 as an OEM Glock frame doesn't have this front pin right here but it does have the other three and with the polymer 80s usually the pins are a little bit tighter or if you just bought a brand new Glock your pins are gonna be really tight as well so in that case I got this little magnetic bench block right here it's kind of cool because if little metal pieces fall through it it actually has a magnet in here that'll catch it as a 1911 disassembly tool right here a bunch of little different holes it'll even hold your barrel right there and it's rubberized so it doesn't slide around so anyways let's take this apart just line that up over a hole take that out line that up over a hole take that out line this one up top one that comes out and then to get this one out sometimes it can be a little bit of a booger just depending on how new your gun is and stuff but if you notice if you try to just push down on it it doesn't move so what you have to do is you have to kind of flick this right there and you as you put downward pressure and you can see pop right out pull out your slide stop slide release now we're going to take our punch here pull out our locking block the OEM Glock locking block looks different as this front section is here so pretend that front sections cut off that's kind of what your locking block will look like set that over here to the left I'm going to keep everything separate but yeah you can see here how it catches all my pins very nice well now we can just pull our trigger out just like this put that over to the side oh and just in case you're wondering guys I'll have links and coupon codes for all this stuff that's in this video Arsenal democracy trigger but good luck getting one I think the lead times like three months right now this won't apply to OEM Glock frames but on the polymer eighty this rear rail section comes out just like that then take out our takedown lever push down with a punch up here turn it to the side and it falls out pretty nice huh get out this spring right here you're simply just gonna dig in there just get your punch underneath it put your hand over because sometimes just think of pop out and there's that now we got left is it's a mag release out all we got to do to do that I highly suggest using a big ol flathead screwdriver because it makes life a million times easier on this side of your gun you're gonna hold pressure here you're gonna come down here with your flathead reach down inside and push this you'll see a long tall spring down in there see if you see it push that to the side and and then that pops out you can see that right there now you can push if your mag release out just like that and I always just use a set of needle nose to pull that little spring out right here there it is now the Glock is 100% or in this case the polymer 80 100% disassembled now before we reassemble it I want to go over one other little thing because sometimes when you order like these completion kits I'll put links below where you can pick up completion kids for Glock slide completion kids frame completion kits things like that I've noticed sometimes when you get this completion kits your striker won't be assembled like this it'll be in pieces and let me just show you how you can take it apart and then I'll show you how you can put it back together what you want to do first take it backwards set it in the back here slide like that until that tab catches and it will stand up on its own so what you want to do is you want to pull down and be very careful because these little guys are called spring cups and they will go flying and they're easy to there's two of them on each side and you gently release your spring pull it out and then those two pieces come apart so now all right so to put one of these together you just put your connector in like this boom you want to take this little spring here and install it on the backside of here and the way you do that is you want your spring facing down while it's so pointing away from it you just hook it around then you bring it back over like this and then you just connect this onto the bottom of your trigger like that one thing you want to watch out for too is once you get this installed you don't want that spring looking like that you want that spring looking like that so let me show you and that's it that's how it goes in and then what you want to do is look down in here and you can see there's no Springs kinked out to the side you want to make sure that that's not happening all right so let's put this pig back together we're gonna start back with our striker get your striker put back together you got to open end hill right here you got a kind of a closed end over here put your striker through like this pull it through use your slide as a jig to hold it take your spree slide it over pull it down don't let go of this spring this is the dangerous part put one side in put one spring Cup in on one side and then put the other one in and gently release it and that will hold tension boom now to get it back all going we're gonna take our if your little spring falls out of your safety plunger just put it back in it's fine just stick your safety plunger in put pressure upward pressure on it now we're going to put our extractor back in now we're going to take our extractor plunger and plunger spring metal end goes inward plastic in faces out now we can put our striker down in here just like that now we're going to use our punch and we're gonna take our backplate so you just want to get your backplate started just like that then you're gonna press down here and put a little pressure so it slides over flip your punch over push down on here and now that's back on now we take a barrel take your guide rod slides back together perfect let's move back to the frame first thing we're gonna do is we're gonna reinstall the mag release and the way we're going to do that we're going to take our needle nose here and we're gonna hold it like that and then you know like I was showing you down in here it's that little area where it goes you just stick it down there make sure it's in okay we're gonna I hold the gun like this and I'll start you put the mag release in from this side just like that then you kinda have to pull that spring out just a hair so that it can slide past it otherwise it just bumps so as I'm holding that there just like that now you could sit you can see the spring isn't quite seated so you're going to take your flat head you're going to pry it to the look to the right as you're holding pressure on the side let me show you just like that okay mag release boom now we're gonna take our spring here for our our takedown lever you look at the spring here this long end here is what goes into the frame so you take that end and you just stick it down into this little crevice there now with your takedown lever you're gonna notice there's kind of a little notch on it you want the knotch side facing the rear of the frame and what you do is you just barely get it started like that hold it with your finger make sure it's not too far in and then slide it right over and then it clicks into place if you're having any issues you know getting your slide off or getting the slide on it's because that hooked portion might be facing the front instead of the rear this this doesn't apply to OEM Glock but for polymer hati you take your rear rail section with the flat side facing the front seat it down in there now what we're gonna do take our trigger stick the trigger shoe through there and then seat the housing down in the rear just like that now we're gonna take our front locking block yours will look different on om Glock but it's essentially the same thing press it down in now we're gonna reassemble the pins you know for polymer 80s I always start with this front one right here so I get that one in so now if I have an OEM Glock you know this front one doesn't exist with an OEM block I always start with the rear one that's holds the trigger housing in place so I just put that one in right here there's that then I move to this top one up here and so I get that put into place just like this and now for this last one what I do is I get the trigger hole aligned like that you get the trigger hole with that hole and I just get it started I don't push it all the way through then what you do you're going to take your slide stop slide release it's going to slide in beside your trigger there you're going put a little bit of downward pressure on this side and upward pressure on this side and what that will do is it'll allow that to come through now you simply put your slide on check the function and we're good to go so let me know if you guys have any questions down below that's how you completely disassemble a Glock or polymer 80 and completely reassemble it you know if you have any other questions guys put them down in the comments section below I will put links in everything for a lot of the parts and tools and the mat and everything else that you see here I'll see you guys in the next video
