Beating Minecraft On Nightmare Difficulty

[Music] on today's episode of minecraft but it's nightmare difficulty something else can spawn in here though first there was impossible difficulty which i didn't play because you know thought it was obviously too easy step your game up what are you doing then there was impossible plus plus difficulty which i did play and i dormammu i've come to bargained my way to victory with the ender dragon everything i touch becomes a silverfish that's it now fundy has released nightmare difficulty the third and final most difficult of the super duper difficulty minecraft i made things much much worse and today we're gonna play it i've watched the video this time because i learned from my silverfish mistakes not going in blind again so on top of everything in impossible plus plus difficulty we have some new things first we're vegetarian second increased fall damage based on your weight of how much you have in your inventory tripping can scatter your inventory so all the times i tripped on a twig well now my inventory just yeets all over the place can't fully skip nighttime anymore unliving a zombie or skeleton will spawn of x which is great arrows can't really aim they fly randomly all over the place portals have to be four by four in order to go through don't think you need corners we're gonna leave those out you lose water when you take damage so if you have water buckets to like prevent taking damage from blazes or something like that in the nether those just disappear as you take damage pretty cool stuff i am literally cheating and it's giving me stress the end has moon gravity and you can't really mine and stuff due to all the status effects that you get on top of the enderman still being mad at you all the time and breaking end crystals now releases a bunch of phantoms which is really cool so we have to worry about all that new stuff also new addition of a new webcam angle i said we were taking these to a new level of production value and you weren't skip some of the night that's already almost over i'm gonna go mining i'm very hungry of course so the idea is block off the mine as i go and i'm basically gonna run it in a loop all right we got coal i was about to be impressed with being able to make it all the way down to like y equals 11 without running into uh a single or all right guys i've got you thank you optifine we are out here oh hey some iron too are we speedrunning the nether is the question no no i want to make sure that the nether portal is really easily accessible from wherever my home is maybe we're just going to go until we can mine obsidian what i'm probably going to have happen is i'm gonna get the diamond pickaxe going and then as soon as i make contact with obsidian it's gonna break dude i'm taking what i learned in the first one in impossible plus plus and we're applying it here and we're gonna do great things that's the one thing though that's gonna be problematic is i have to get spiders i need to get invisibility potions that's the one problem we're gonna run into the only way we're gonna be able to successfully take down the dragon this time with the phantoms and not being able to mine blocks is we have to we have to have invisibility potions i hear a spider that's what made me think of it maybe you could take it out about some diamonds though dude how about a little bit of diamonds this is the strategy though 100 this is the strategy oh oh hello i thought i thought i saw a little sparkle there in the darkness here we are oh look at that oh look at that we're popping off we're unstopped oh my god we're unstoppable i'm gonna save my diamonds because with my luck i'm gonna go through like three pickaxes on the on the way trying to get my 16 obsidian so i'm just gonna save the diamonds otherwise i'm gonna be like halfway through mining them and then it's it's gonna yeah just need to find lava in a safe enclosed area as long as it's like its own little lava pool then we'll be fine because oh god i need to not try oh my god i forgot about the tripping thing if i trip right here oh no i'm terrified okay i gotta move further away from the lava i'm gonna make a chest that's a great place to do it i'm gonna put i'm putting all the valuable stuff in there there it is hey i like it i like it i like it i like it i'm having a dilemma right now okay and it's over something i would never even think about if i was playing regular minecraft but suddenly you introduce nightmare difficulty and everything becomes an existential crisis on one hand i want there to be water in here to protect me from the lava while i'm mining obsidian makes sense cool that's what i usually do but i don't want to leave this open because a baby zombie could just run itself in and then i'm screwed and then i ka put and then my pickaxe flies into lava something like that but on the other hand i don't want to walk out into the cave because then i might get absolutely ruined then everything sucks again i'm gonna make a bucket and then maybe i'm gonna brave the cave so i can actually bring the water source into here and then it'll be easy i can pick it up place down as needed but not have to worry about it oh god oh god i'm not gonna use that i'm not gonna use that right there nope i already accidentally used it placing down something and that was a mistake i forgot that the i forgot please tell me it didn't go and then just oh go into the lava was all my stuff in lava i swear to god it's all in lava it's not oh my goodness oh we're good we're good we're good we're good we're good we're good everything's fine i'm gonna throw all this stuff back in here and i'm gonna go with just a torch and a bucket and an iron sword i guess to go and fetch that stupid water no no no no no water is so scary we're good i'm going deep breaths okay now i'm going to trip no no no i'm not going to trip not if i think about it if i think about it i'm not going to trip no how are you going to talk about dramatic tweak under water okay get out of the water if it falls in it falls in i just i don't want to be near it again not when i can trip real good i need um six more 16. okay we got there's lava over there so maybe we're good we're good okay 12 more iron nice we're we're popping off we got the diamonds i can't wear armor in the nether so it's almost like there's no point in accumulating a lot of it we got lappies in case i want to make an enchantment table get some minor enchantments going perhaps it could be a thing enchantment tables can't wear out i don't think somehow despite this being nightmare difficulty we're off to a stronger start it's daytime oh my goodness am i about to return safely don't speak too soon don't speak too soon don't get ahead of yourself but maybe oh you could you could you could go all the way the wild groundhog emerges and sees its shadow because it's a beautiful sunny day oh we did it we're in a really good position i don't i'm gonna just leave i'm leaving valuable things here there's gotta be some flint over by water somewhere okay i gotta i gotta take advantage of the daytime i'm gonna trip on a twig and it's gonna eat my stuff every year we might as well get some just in case we need to handcraft some arrows if i ever decide that i want to deal with that but wow there we go okay great great stuff hold up more bodies at the nether it's gonna be fantastic here's my thought i'm just gonna run in with nothing on me okay i'm gonna run around if i am alive i am alive i'm just gonna go until i find myself a fortress all right seems good to me and there's no sticks i just figure out where the fortress is and then and then i can worry about how to get back there with actual gear for the time being i can just i'm just going to run and maybe i'll run so far away that they're not even going to keep chasing me and we'll be fine you're moving a lot faster than i remember in impossible minecraft it seemed like even though they're aggro they didn't move super fast now they move fast now they run we get up here uh i don't think so not without some blocks not without some blocks this is gonna be a problem oh god okay can i oh can he save himself with parkour can he save himself with parkour god what a legend the absolute maneuvers of breaking netherrack with a fist oh god i'm gonna run out of food but it doesn't matter because i can just i can sacrifice myself and then we'll be fine although this is looking pretty bleak over here uh hey there's some mushrooms though so that's good wait oh my god is it really just poking out hold on so i'm at 280 120. hey man i'm ready it's my time all right i accept my fate go ahead take out six hearts in a single swing what are you hesitating are you having second thoughts poor fellow he doesn't even have any armor this is too easy i gotta give him a shot nope never mind gotta get back there except this time i have to have at least a little bit of material i have to have a shield but we have 17 tries at this it turns out that when you leave and you come back thankfully because the server is running in the background it means that things have a chance to despawn so they don't get to accumulate in the one spot so that's what i need to do if i ever run into a terrible situation as i just need to cool off for a bit chill out we can come back in a bit the server will have progressed it will have done its thing and all of a sudden less pigmen clumped up right at the nether portal ready to just destroy me all right here we go everybody i think i've got the same general direction i probably should have laid a cobblestone path but i have an impeccable sense of direction i'm gonna trip and it's gonna be so bad it's gonna be so bad while i'm being chased by gassed okay because the gas will just like blow my stuff up freaking heck once i have why why are you like this the worst thing that could ever happen is if on this parkour jump i trip that's why i'm not gonna risk it i can't i can't risk it i can't risk it i just gotta mine some netherrack of all the times for you to not trip this is the one don't do it okay i think we've made it past the point of no return of trippage now we can be out of reach of the mans and we get ourselves and uh they can't even come close to us yes that's what i can hope for that is exactly what i can hope for right there okay i can hope for an enclosed not lit on fire oh available we go and you just do this you just do this it's no problem it's in the chest ion alive i can run back and then i resume the mission with nothing lost that's that's probably that's gonna be a problem we're doing fine and now i have a full inventory's worth of saturation you freaking idiot please don't okie dokie boys that's great i don't know what it is i don't i don't know what it is about this particular portal entry but these guests really really want to break the portal every single time all right that's kind of crap is that okay well hey i want to give a heads up here about a thing you might notice not only in this video but also in some videos going forward on this channel since obviously we're going for the quality over quantity thing it means that some of these videos are going to be really really long recording sessions condensed into a single video now those recording sessions might have been done over several days time that's why you notice there is now a green screen lying in the back of this frame as well as you might notice some more light because i've actually added a couple studio lights which help to illuminate the green screen for the sake of continuity here we're keeping it as is i'm not introducing the green screen yet maybe it'll be introduced in the future obviously you saw the last video on this channel involved some green screen stuff if you tuned into that one so anyway that's why on top of that in the future you might notice that a t-shirt changes my hair is laying a different way anyway that's just something that's going to be happening going forward in the longer recording sessions that are condensed into shorter videos things could happen over different sessions different days it is what it is that looks like a safe spot for cows i'm gonna not go in there okay back to the blaze spawner here we go how many trips is it gonna take to do this as long as no no additional blazes okay we're good we're good everything is fine boom get that in there get that in there i mean we're at four blaze rods so we're we're good oh god oh you know what i do want to say is it's actually it is a new thing with this particular nightmare difficulty oh frick there's so many now that he did make it harder to dodge blaze projectiles as you notice they go creek and crazy fast now and that was part of the deal so i just want to be clear that it's not entirely my fault that i'm getting hit more i cut myself of course no problems here ladies and gentlemen just get ready for the spawn as long as not too many spawn at once we should be good to go and we're gonna it's not the end of the world it's just that every time i on alive i go through a piece of bread but now i think uh i'm actually at the point where i can get back here yes okay we didn't lose anything i can get back here without actually having to use any more blocks we've got staircases the downside of that being that i can be followed by the big men and uh please do not light me on fire okay everything's good give me what yes oh you're being so generous thanks so much okay we're gonna get to ten blaze rods and then i think we'll be fine we are gonna need to make a brewing stand out of one because we need invisibility potions that is freaking above my head that's a they were going to shatter they don't shatter so what that means is i gotta run the gauntlet back i gotta worry about tripping and losing all of these into the lava i am so scared not place to trip it is not the place here's okay to trip i would prefer not to but it's okay but over here is going to not be the place to trip oh god god please please don't trip here of all the places don't drip here don't do it god okay we're okay we made it through the danger zone without tripping i can't believe that my biggest concern for this entire thing is just fumbling my inventory due to a twig in the on how to actually bring a villager to you and get it to follow you kind of just you keep luring it this way you keep doing the you keep luring it eventually the mans will follow us into the house which i can then trap up i don't think we'll run into problems with losing villagers however were you both gonna do you both gonna do oh my god no come on in come on hey hey please please please come is some sugar cane and then we have 48 minutes worth of invisibility i just need to go back to the fortress and get the nether wart just gonna be a uh long and tedious process of get trading for more emeralds having him increase the cost you know the forest was looking better before but hey they don't care about agriculture too much in this village so this feels like it should go pretty far right turn all of this into all of that my basic strategy here is very exciting every time it turns to night i attempt to sleep brings me through part of the night if it lets me and then i just sit here i multitask i browse the internet i look at twitter i do whatever i need to do otherwise while i sit and let the server progress until it's morning and then i can possibly exit and not have to worry about a baby zombie attacking me are we good and oftentimes we end up being good thanks for that and you're 56 56 are you kidding me right now 56 56 the worst deals i've ever witnessed and i've witnessed a lot of deals and you my friend you've great deals great deals the best of deals thank you very much it's still good i love it i love it that brings us to nine ender pearls and we still have more to go are you still at 56 you absolute fool i'm gonna try to get to 15 ender pearls it gives us a good buffer just in case things go terribly wrong with shattering eyes of ender and all that stuff oh my mans is truly out here not upping his prices an absolute legend i'm going to get this is going to bring us up to 16 which i think will be fine oh it's 18. that's 18. okay that's more ender pearls than i needed by far and away we got ourselves quite a bit of arrows we got a bow i might want it do i want to get another bow i might want to get another bow but we'll worry about that after getting back for the nether so now we just got to make a few nether runs just gotta make a few nether runs get ourselves another wart and uh hope that it works out but i can kind of i could just kind of run it i can un-alive myself on purpose go in with full saturation make a run get the yeah that's the idea dude that's the idea you know there's part of me that wants to use my levels before i go and definitely sacrifice myself here but at the same time i'm like is it really worth anything because i'd have to go get more obsidian so i could use it to craft an enchantment table then the stuff i enchant probably gonna break so i'm not gonna waste my time we obviously were able to beat impossible plus plus minecraft with just like stone swords and stuff over and over so i'm gonna save all this gear and i'll bring one extra bread and we're just we're just going to hope that we're able to make it there and grab some nether wart and write it back i could possibly go wrong nothing oh jesus it's great we're gonna be fine we'll make it we got a man's on us and unfortunately for us i just didn't really think to bring a weapon oh he's mad yeah i think that's it i think we've reached the end of the road but over here perhaps yeah it looks like over there is probably going to be a better choice somehow we're dodging we're bobbing we're weaving we're good god i'm good at dodging things maybe there will be some food in the chest you know your food in the chest in here i can't remember i know i have chicken but it's like what's the use of this really give myself some salmonella oh yeah i uh oh hello all right sure but i can't put that on here that would be bad news for my heat maybe i should just here i'm gonna dump some stuff in here and then i'll recollect it because it's like on the way it's on the way out what did how do i find how do i find netherwork honestly ridiculous everything is just everything everything is unalived ends is it possible to get a that's that's just what i needed how is there no netherwork in this freaking stop they're all mad now everyone's mad now i don't think this fortress has any netherwork which really screws up the entirety of our plans oh my god and that's yeah this is where we came from i am going to cry i'm i mean we're retrieving some stuff and we're going to try to go this place doesn't have it doesn't have netherwork i don't think i've ever run into a fortress in all of minecraft that did not have netherwork wow i don't think i'm going to make it all the way back definitely not without tripping oh good oh good oh great okay we're going we're going i'm leaving i can tell when i'm not wanted i can tell when i need to find another fortress i'm like i don't know what to do i've never felt so defeated before i'm gonna trip on the lava bridge just you wait and see just you wait oh frick we're almost back at our stuff i think i got one pig man trailing me here and he's right at the bad spot yep yep he's right at the bad spot conserving resources is i'm just gonna go on repeat missions to the nether where i go as far as i can and then i just give up jump into lava come back return and i do that basically until i've managed to find myself another fortress at which point i log the coordinates and then make a more concerted effort to go and actually get i like do i go in a different direction i should probably go in a different direction from where we were previously i just this is pain so it turns out there's just nowhere else i can get to with another realistically without bringing a ton of blocks a ton of food sacrificing myself aside from the direction i went into in order to get to the first fortress which is right here so just outside of here if you'll walk a few blocks in this direction there's another one there's another fortress which i would have seen if when i was just so consumed by rage as to why there wasn't any other war maybe if i just decided to walk out in this direction maybe i would this is what my inventory is gonna look like get those ready to go and then what i'm gonna do is spend the rest of today while there's still some daylight seeing if i can find a horse if we get a horse then i feel like we actually stand a chance because we won't have to deal with tripping which is just going to be the worst thing of all time that we have to deal with and um we should be able to make it there pretty quickly so i think that's our best strategy um in the meantime though i guess i should uh yoink this sorry man gonna have to take this with me kind of important got ourselves a horse nice dude right by our spawn actually all right you are gonna lead us to victory my friend and then i guess what i should do is i should collect all the remaining beds from the village and then whatever extra space i have in my inventory throw beds in there so we can checkpoint ourselves along the way because i'm super scared bad things are gonna happen i wanna checkpoint myself oh nice bed nice bed i feel like five is probably enough but we'll get six just for good measure i'm probably gonna be greedy and then i'm gonna get hit we're good we're good come morning we mount our noble could find the stronghold and then from there like i could keep on wandering outside until i find the other things now i could store stuff in a chest as we find it let's just do a double check yep oh in the nether fortress there's no carrots there's no planters in the village that i find i don't even understand i don't understand how that even happens so what i should do is i should kind of take my valuables and put them away and then go on a go on a village quest expedition ladies and gentlemen we got it oh my god oh and there's so oh there's just so many more hay bales oh this is great we're gonna have so much food incredible i mean it is about to be nighttime which i'm slightly scared about but we'll we'll sleep here it's not too far away from our stuff i haven't looked around yet but yeah there's a planter there okay come on are there any carrots here are there there are there no there are no carrots guys are there no carrots here this is the worst seed draw this might be worse than that speedrun seed that i threw that just didn't it just spawned me on an island with no trees but this is worse than that this is worse than that it truly is i don't really have much of a choice i'm gonna use the daytime to try to find another village i mean we might as well check what's inside of the temple over here i suppose a lot of sand oh spider eye wouldn't that have been nice uh tnt oh wow a god apple that would have been really nice to uh this actually could be good for growing another carrot if i only found one everything is pain at this point who would have ever thought it could be this difficult to get a carrot oh my god there are no villages i retraced my steps loading different chunks no villages i overshot the stronghold went in other directions no villages and i came to the realization that what i might have to do because with my luck the next village also isn't going to have any carrots and planters i might have to look for shipwreck loot the problem is in nightmare mode minecraft you can't swim underwater because the bubbles go down like this and as soon as you reach the end of your bubbles you're gone so i have to get a water breathing potion that's the only way it can do this which means thank goodness i had the presence of mine before i actually left the village for real i went back into the desert temple i grabbed the string and this way oh god this way i can make a fishing rod because i came back here i grabbed the the brewing stand i grabbed the redstone dust i grabbed netherwort i can make a furnace i can get sand obviously very easily so i'm going to make a fishing rod and i'm gonna fish with an unenchanted fishing rod until i get a puffer fish just a kid just a single carrot man that's all i need i have the bones i can bone meal it i grow more carrots i just need one carrot i oh nope not gonna give me a puffer fish that's fine i get it oh boys we got it okay we got a puffer fish thank goodness all right i think until i just don't find a shipwreck or there's a whole host of things that that might happen here that i'm going to be very very disappointed about i don't know why i turned all these into anyway it's fine shipwreck time let's see it let's see it where are you at this is the most excited i would ever be in my life to see a carrot okay we breathe underwater the bubbles are not going down this is very exciting what do we got in here i mean this would be the uh treasure one right yeah so we just got some of that just in case i don't know why we would need it but i suppose we can use those already in nugget form for the carrot that we eventually will hopefully get and we have a chat oh my god we got carrots oh i think things are starting to look up for the first time in a while not that i haven't unlived in a while it's just that like it's been really tedious things have not been going on in our favor in a way that just makes me have to do really tedious annoying things and i'm ready for it to go differently we're here we made it wow it's been a trip i decided to use some of the iron that we got to make a water bucket because i realized that we're gonna have to at this scary spot we're gonna have to use that water in order to fill up one of these empty ones and in fact also possibly bring it with us so the issue obviously with the water bucket is if i take damage the water in the water bucket spills out it just goes away so it's like if i want to make it down to the portal with six water buckets i kind of just have to drink the potions of water breathing refill them here because if there's no easily accessible water etc then i just i want to have the water bottles pre-filled let's just make all six okay we're just gonna make all six golden carrot first fermented spider eye then we'll need to have the redstone on top of that and then we'll have invisibility for eight minutes and then we stack that up we're gonna have invisibility for 48 minutes if i can't make it work in 48 minutes or six on the lives i don't know what to tell me all right we found the stronghold this is my inventory here i'm carrying pretty much all the goods uh let's just set down a bed here now we're gonna be really hungry unless actually if i wake up with a nightmare yeah we're good we're good we're chilling okay i see here's the thing i don't oh god if i find the portal i don't have to make a run all the way back here let me just see what we have on the other side it's a bad place that we jesus christ i'm putting stuff in a chest gonna make a chest i hear a silverfish oh that's fine we still have all our potions of invisibility though so i guess we have that going for us but it incinerated so much stuff in there so much oh oh good not a single eye is filled in huh not a single eye it's astounding i have never been faced with such a load of crap in the rng department i had to go all the way back up to the surface i had to get more wood i retrieved the blaze powder so we can make the final eye of ender because obviously the portal would spawn with none and i retrieved an extra glowstone to put right there just so it helps with the lighting a little bit okay anything else that can go wrong i'm sure there is but i've not thought of it yet anyway all right here we go we'll take a couple ender pearls with us please no trip please don't trip please no trip please don't trip please don't trip and please don't trip okie dokie okay we're gonna potion of invisibility and kind of hope this works out for us because if it doesn't all right oh here we go
