lord praise the name of jesus god bless you all this is pastor kimberly ray gavin and i welcome you to our saturday prayer call god bless you to all of our friends that are on the actual phone call as we also we have a visual call as well as an audio call today and we're extremely excited i want to just say bless the lord o my soul and all that is within me bless his holy name the name of the lord is great and he is greatly to be praised in the mountain of his holiness i tell you god is so faithful he's just and he's true we praise him for another week another saturday that we are live with you and we thank god because he alone is worthy of all the praise i tell you sometimes um it just it's good to just take time and worship god to praise him praise him because he's god praise him for who he is praise him that he's majestic and sovereign and holy praise him because he is god and beside him there is none other praise him because he is the creator of the ends of the universe his name is great i tell you let's just praise him today if i can inspire you to do anything i want you to praise god all day long today for his goodness and his mercy that is everlasting and his truth endures to all generations bless the name of the lord i am so excited again to have a special guest with us today and just before we go into our time of of introduction of our guests i want to just make reference to something that i experienced on yesterday and it was um incredibly special to me that uh there was a young man that used to attend our ministry from time to time and he followed our church he's been following us from another uh area for a very long time and i just thank god this his name is desmond and desmond is one of those young men that um every now and then we just send messages i enjoyed the telecast i enjoyed the broadcast i was so blessed and i just remember him saying things like you ladies you sisters are touching the nation with your prayers and just a gift of encouragement that he had but even so he sent me a message a couple of months ago that was it struck me i just thought it was a little odd the way that it was written and it was written in this way it said pastor kim if anything should happen to me i want you to do my eulogy and of course my natural instinct and my first response was to say to him all the blood of jesus we gonna pray you know we gonna believe god and you know i just gave him some words of encouragement and not knowing that he was going through a personal battle physical battle but even so on last week this young man passed away at the age of 39 and his family asked me to come and do the eulogy as had been requested by him and i just want to tell you all saints that you know when you are doing the funeral service of a young man that's 39 years old and that passed away it just brings everything in in a way into perspective and with that i want to say that this young man he was uh someone that maybe you never heard of but he was a soul he was precious and i just praise god for life and i want to really ask all of you all today to see life in a new perspective honor the days that you have honor god for the days honor god for your life you know we all are aware that because of the global pandemic that the number has reached over 300 000 people that have passed away as a result of the covet 19 and i just believe that those of us that are still alive and remain that we should really dedicate ourselves to god and do all that we can to honor the lord because of his faithfulness to us again i just want to say welcome to our saturday prayer call i thank god for every one of you that's on the call that's watching by way of facebook or stream yard and again we praise the lord for our guest on today i want to welcome a man of god who i've met many many years ago and i want to just applaud the fact that he has been consistent and i want to share with you all that he is a bishop as well as a pastor who is deeply committed to fulfilling the great commission of our lord jesus christ and that is to make disciples of all nations according to the book of matthew chapter 28 and i want to share with you all that he is the senior pastor of the spirit of liberty church of god in markham illinois and so he continues to be the senior pastor today and is a bishop i love the fact that god has given him a heart for prayer a heart for intercession god has given him a heart to really reach uh individuals through the ministry of intercession and prayer god has helped him to do many revivals awakening revivals and transforming revivals in the united states and so we thank god again that the lord ordained him and his church ordained him to be a bishop and he is a stellar man of god and again i feel so blessed and honored to have pastor geiss with us on today one who preaches the word of god uncompromisingly and with simplicity and with accuracy i heard him do a teaching on prayer and i'll never forget i was so intrigued with the teaching on prayer that he did i was sitting and taking notes and trying to really kind of glean everything that he was teaching because it was so good we've had him here at the church on the rock to minister the word of god so again we just want to take a moment and just before we have pastor guys come on i want to ask every person on the call every person that is watching let us lift our hands right now and let's just give god a time of worship and a time of praise and let's praise him because he's god and for what he's about to do i want to ask each of you to just take a minute listen i want you to post i want you to tag i want you to tweet tell someone that we are about to be blessed by uh bishop arthur guys i before we go to him i want to make sure i in my spirit that pastor geis has a word that is going to strengthen the body of christ and edify the church so again i want to all of you just you know let's take a minute and share post tag and let everyone know that we have a man of god coming on with us today again i thank the lord for bishop arthur geist and we welcome him so i give you now to the man of god bishop arthur guys from the spirit of liberty church of markham illinois well praise the lord and i thank you so very much pastor kim let me begin by stating how honored i am to be a part of such a prestigious live stream and uh prayer call this afternoon uh partly because of my history with the ray family as uh pastor kim mentioned that i met this family over 40 years ago um i met uh she and her sisters and a mother that came to a church a baptist church i was a member of and her mother ministered so powerfully in the church and that day she reached out to me and she began to sense that god had a call in my life and she was a major influence in my life as i was growing up and i can remember there were days that we would spend over at the house and niecy excuse me pastor denise would cook and uh we would have theological discussions and sister reed would be in the back and she would be uh giving uh instruction and correction to my theology and uh i would tease cheryl about uh pokey uh that i would hope that he would get into heaven because i wasn't sure because he was quite a rascal and brother ray was such a man of god in the way that he welcomed me so i have history and so i'm honored to be here with you but also when you invited me and gave me the fame i instantly had a witness in my heart with the lord wanted me to share and the reason because for the last maybe two years i have really been pressing uh this particular teaching that hinges on perseverance so what i want to do is i want to make a statement and i'm gonna pray and i'm gonna get into the word of god i won't be able to finish everything but i will give you a skeleton and hopefully you'll take uh uh the truths that are here and you'll meditate on them because i definitely want to leave some time for prayer but let me draw your attention to something that the apostle paul uh said to his young protege timothy as he was about to pass on the mantle of leadership as paul was about to depart let's look at second timothy chapter 3 verse 1. paul says this know that in the last days perilous times shall come now the greek word that's translated perilous in that verse is a word kalapos and this word means difficult it means hard to deal with it means dangerous it means fierce and it's amazing that this word is only used one other time in the new testament and that is in matthew 8 28 and let me read that verse to you it says that when he was come to the other country of the gerges he met him two men possessed with devils coming out of the tombs exceedingly fierce so that no man might pass by that way so that word fears translated in matthew 8 28 is the same word calapos that's translated perilous or fierce or dangerous so these men were so fierce that people were avoiding going in that particular area and i wanted to share with many people especially christians in 2020 because many of us are hoping that we can get past the pandemic and life can go back to normal as we used to know it but i'm sorry i have to tell you the truth that things are not going to get better but they're going to get progressively worse they are going to get so bad that jesus said that before the end of this age they will be known as the most dangerous difficult times of difficulties and tribulation that the earth has ever seen or will ever see so what we have to understand that we're living in the last days the last days that means the end of human history is coming to a close but the reason that i am excited about the day is because i understand what god is saying to his people and i want to share that with you to change your perspective about the dead age in which you live number one i want you to take heart and not be alarmed but to be prepared and informed about the day of which you live because god wants us not just to survive but to thrive amen i mean that god wants us to not only be people that make it but also be a source of life to other people now let me say something to you your presence in the earth at this particular time in human history was not by chance it wasn't a result of a gleam in your daddy's eye but it was according to the plan and purpose of god hear me church you need to understand that god sees humanity in only three categories and you see that very clearly in first corinthians chapter 10 verse 31-32 he said whether therefore you eat drink or whatsoever you do do it all to the glory of god and then he says give no offense to the jews to the gentiles and to the church of god so that's the three people groups that god sees in the earth you are either a jew or you're either a gentile or you are a part of the church of jesus christ and what excites me is that the church did not come on the scene until the last days the days that were noted as difficult hard to deal with dangerous and fierce god not only had you here but god called you to be a part of this unique body of people this unique family that's only going to be in the earth for about 2 000 years god could have had you born before the resurrection of jesus christ but he waited and the bible said that he chose you and christ before the foundation of the world that you would be in him you would be in christ at this particular time in the last days in these dangerous days so this is a part of the plan of the purpose of god the bible says in acts chapter 17 verse 26 that god has made of one blood all men to dwell upon the face of the earth and he has determined the times and the places and the boundaries where men are to dwell so you're living here at this particular time in human history at the locale that you're living in not by mistake but according to god's purpose and we need to change our perspective that god had a plan that he hid in himself before the foundation of the world that he didn't reveal it to anybody and that mystery that he had was a body of people that will be born of him that will comprise of both jews and gentiles that have become one in messiah jesus and that they would have a responsibility at the most dangerous time in human history and so therefore god called you to be a part of it and called you to be here at this particular time so glory to god thank god that he included you that's why perseverance is so important that these are difficult times but we god has made it possible for us to make it now i want to begin this teaching maybe i better pray because i i i'm about to run off and and i won't get to what i need to really focus on so let me pray real quick and i want to give you seven statements now people that know me and follow my teaching i try to give them seven because seven is the number of completion i have seven statements that i want to make if i have a little bit of time i'll show you the passage of scripture where they apply to but if i don't get enough time at least you'll have these seven principles that i want you to jot down on pieces of paper and meditate on and let god bring you some clarity to it but let's pray father in heaven i thank you so very much in the name of the lord jesus christ i thank you that i approach the throne and i bring myself into agreement with my devotional prayer that the holy spirit the greater one who dwells within me that he would rise and live big within me and that he would anoint these lips of clay and think through my mind so that as i open my mouth to speak that he would do the teaching and that your people heavenly father would be infused with the heart of god and not the mind of a man and god i just thank you for the release of that anointing in the hearts and lives and minds of every person that's listening god so that they can see understand and receive the truth of your word and the accuracy in which it is given i also pray for the grace of god that will enable us to not be just hearers of the word but doers as well and because doers of the word are winners in life so we thank you also lastly for the majestic name of jesus and the legal right to use that name against the enemy and we break your power right now and declare that you would not circumvent the flow of god's anointing it's awful limits to you you have no part nor a lot of anything that we're involved in in jesus name amen so let me let me get into it because i want to leave some time for prayer first statement and listen don't try to quote what i said uh tag the person with this because somebody's gonna mess it up they're gonna say something i didn't say but i am gonna say something that a lot of people maybe not thought about and thought differently about so hear me out before you turn me off okay first thing the primary purpose for jesus going to the cross was not to deliver us from hell and take us to heaven let me say that again the primary purpose for jesus going to the cross was not to deliver us from hell and to take us to heaven all right number two i hope you're writing this down i'm gonna give you a scripture in just a minute number two god's primary purpose for saving us was so that you could be used by him to accomplish his purposes in the earth at the end of human history oh man let me say that again god's primary purpose for saving you was so that you could be used of him to accomplish his purposes in the earth at the end of human history number three therefore other than your relationship with god the most important pursuit of your life must be your fulfilling your calling or your god-given destiny let me say that again other than your personal relationship with the lord the most important pursuit of your life is the fulfillment of your call or your god-given destiny now let me show you a scripture where i derived this from turn in your bibles real quickly to the book of john chapter 17 and i want to look at verse uh 15 john 17 15. watch this now jesus is praying he says i pray not that thou should just take them out of the world but the thousands keep them from the evil they are not of the world even as i am not of the world sanctify them through thy truth thy word is truth as thou has sent me into the world even so have i set them into the world and for their sakes i sanctify myself that they also might be sanctified through the truth neither pray i for these alone but also for them which shall believe on me through their word he prayed for you too now here's the deal if his purpose was to get us from hell to heaven and that's why he went to the cross then immediately after i made jesus christ my personal lord and savior i would have went straight to heaven but jesus is praying contrary to that he said that in the world you're going to have tribulation he said the people are thinking they do a god of service even if they kill you you're going to suffer he talked about that it was going to be difficult for us and even though he knew it was be he was leaving us in a hostile world he prayed father i don't take them out of the world so it couldn't be just going from hell to heaven it had to be something else that god had in mind and that was fulfillment of the call of god he left you here for the fulfillment of your call and i'm telling you that is the most important pursuit of your life other than your relationship with god number four real quickly oh somebody ought to be ready to shout right now number four god will never call you into a situation to fail nor will he change his mind about the call let me say that again god will never call you into a situation to fail neither will he change his mind about the call number five oh we about to hit pay dirt now when god assigns a call he measures out the grace commission with the call to ensure successful completion and fulfillment of the call let me say that one more time when god assigns a call he measures out the grace commensurate with the call to ensure successful completion of the call i think of it this way the bible says in the book of first peter that you have manifold grace manifold just means various kinds so my my left hand has manifold fingers you see them amen and my right hand has manifold fingers say that these were callings and divine destiny of different sizes different shapes different callings but i have grace to fit each of the call that's why it's dangerous to intrude into the wrong office because if you're in the wrong office you don't have the faith i mean the grace to fulfill it we need to understand that the bible said that grace is given according to the measure of the gift of christ now let me stop here because i need to say something about the grace of god because people misunderstand grace and if you understood grace this is what would make you very very very excited people believe that grace is favor but favor is how you receive the grace of god but favor is not the grace of god the grace of god listen to me let me give you a definition write this down grace is the omnipotent operational power of the holy ghost given to us at our point of weakness that will enable us to do what we're supposed to do and be what we're supposed to be let me say that again grace [Music] is the operational power omnipotent operational power of the holy ghost that is given to us at our weakness and it enables us to do what we're supposed to do and be where we're supposed to be now let me give an example of that in the scripture turn with me real quickly because i'm almost out of time second corinthians chapter 12. and i believe that god is having us share this because there has been such a decline in the enthusiasm and in the attitude of christians there are pastors that are leaving the ministry by the drove because of the difficulty of the day you need to understand that god had all this under control and had considered this when he called you second corinthians chapter 12. and lest i should be exalted above measure through the this is sacraments chapter 12 verse 7 and lest i should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations there was given to me a thorn in the flesh the messenger of satan to buffet me lest i should be exalted above measure for this thing for this messenger of satan i've been sought to lord three times and he said to me three times my grace is sufficient for you for my strength is made perfect in weakness notice what he said notice what jesus said jesus said my grace is sufficient because my power is perfected in weakness he called his grace his power his dunamis his theonamus his power that is able to accomplish anything that's necessary he said that that this was sufficient for you to do whatever you need to do paul so you don't have to come ask me three or four times just receive my grace and then paul got the revelation notice what he said he said most gladly therefore will i rather glory i will rather glory in my weaknesses that the power of christ might rest upon me therefore i take pleasure in infirmities and reproaches and necessities and persecutions and distress for christ's sake for when i'm weak that's when i'm strong oh glory to god listen we're living in a day of distress of weakness of reproaching necessities but it's all right because when you get to the limit of your ability the limit of your strength that's when the power of god kicks in and puts you over man i tell you the truth you don't have to worry about the day and age in which we live god has made provision through his grace the omnipotent power with god i i could teach on that for now but anyway so let me say this again when god signs a call he measures out the grace commissioned with the call to ensure completion of the call successful completion of the call number six we're almost there number six expect the devil to test your level of commitment to the call amen you can expect that expect it now in the scriptures i wanted to show you that there were ways that the devil uses but i'm just going to pick out one one of them is discouragement and the scripture i was going to use is in acts chapter 16 when paul went into philippi after getting clear directs from god that he was supposed to go and preach the gospel there and what paul's way was he would go into a city and he would go to the synagogue and peace the gospel to the jews first remember he said i'm not ashamed of the gospel because the power of god to salvation to the jew first then to the greeks he would go to the synagogue and preach the to the jews first then he would carry the message to the gentiles when he got to philippi there was no synagogue there there was only women that would resort to the seaside to pray so what the devil tries to do is discourage you through unfulfilled expectation and the thing that you have to get to is that you are going to obey god even though your personal expectation is not met don't let discouragement stop you you gotta that's when you need persevere at this point when when the devil is gonna test your commitment to the call you've got to persevere through discouragement through vexation of spirit and through persecution i don't have time but those are some of the things the devil throws at you those are his wilds the tops to stop you here we go in number seven if you persevere it will be impossible for you to fail failure is a reality that you create not the devil let me say that again if you persevere it will be impossible for you to fail you know you permit failure you caused it to happen by either failing to walk pure impurity or obediently or to quit when you quit that's when you fail amen i said amen now listen let me let me say a couple of things to you and then i want to pray for you um persecution is something that is so powerful that we need to really give some attention to because only people in the known will of god are persecuted if you are experiencing persecution it's because you are reaping what you have sown you are eating the fruit of your own way amen but the word persecution in the greek represents a person that actually it comes from a word that means um from a word that represents strength and it means that you are fixed in a pursuit and you are explaining great effort in spite of what difficulties might come that means you're moving toward a particular goal and you do not quit until you achieve the goal so i think that one of the things we need to understand is is that the devil can't make you quit you have to quit because listen god has given you everything you need to succeed he's giving you his grace he's given you his weapons he's given me his word he's given you his uh name so whatever the devil throws at us all we need to do is use our weapons and be consistent and be resilient and continue to press toward the mark i believe that i need to stop here because i want to pray for you and then i want to turn it back over to pastor can but let me go over these seven principles again that i think are so important for you to remember okay okay number one the primary purpose for jesus going to the cross excuse me was not to take you from hell to heaven that was not his primary purpose number two god's primary purpose for saving you was so that you could be used by him to accomplish his purposes in the earth in these last days or end of human history therefore the only pursuit that you must have other than your uh relationship with the lord jesus christ the other pursuit that has to take precedence above everything else is the fulfillment of your call or your god-given destiny always remember god will never call you into a situation to fail no way to change his mind about the call when god gives a call he also measures out the grace commissioner with the call so that you can accomplish the call expect the devil to test your level of commitment to the call and if you persevere it will be impossible for you to fail if you look at acts chapter 16 and look at how the church at philippi started how paul was thrown into prison and all those things but paul persevered he did not give up on the call of god to preach the gospel even when he was thrown in a dungeon and had been beaten paul still held true to his call to preach the gospel and that philippian jailer got saved that night and took him and washed his wounds after there was a great earthquake in the jail and out of that came a powerful church a church that supported his ministry in such a way paul was able to go full time in the ministry and he was able to allow himself to not just build tents but to put himself into the ministry and he wrote a very personal letter called philippians out of his relationship with that church had he not persevered we would have missed that in this scripture god knows that it's true and i'm telling you you can make it but i want to pray first for those that are experiencing anxiety and fear because of the time in which we're living let me hurry up and do that and then i want to pray for those who have been directly affected by the uh pandemic and then i want to pray for those in need of healing and then i want to pray for those who have given up and turned aside i want you to pick up your call again it's time for you to do that so father we thank you that you have made provision for us not only to survive but to thrive and to be used of you to accomplish your purposes in these last days and father we might think that we don't have what it takes to make it and we don't in and of ourselves but you made provision through your grace heavenly father so that we could overcome no matter what the devil throws at us jesus said in the world you'll have tribulation and persecution but be of good cheer i have overcome the world and you said that this is the victory that overcomes the world even our faith it does not mean that we will not face challenges but it does mean that we will overcome every one of them we are world overcomers we are more than conquerors to him that love us so father i come against the anxiety and the fear that is gripping the people because of this pandemic and because of what's ahead of us in the uncertainty god i pray that you would infuse their hearts and minds to understand that you know everything about all things past present and future at the same time and you knew that they would be here at this particular time in human history and that you made provision for them and i pray that they will turn their hearts away from the problem and look to you i pray heavenly father that they will be like a photographer you know the devil is like a photographer he tries to keep them in the dark room and it's you know develop their negatives but light begins to expose and begins to destroy the negatives you know in a dark room they have to have the dark to develop the negatives but light comes in and destroys the negatives and anything negative in their lives i pray that the light of life that jesus has given unto us will begin to shine and deliver them from their of fears and anxieties and they will rise up in the strength of god with a determination to fulfill your purpose and father i pray for those that may have had covet or those that may have lost loved ones as a result of it i have been sick father i pray in the name of jesus that you would cause them to take heart god and to take courage you didn't say that we wouldn't go through the fire but you said that when we go through we would not let uh our clothes get burns and the frames wouldn't kill upon us you said we wouldn't go through the flood but you said that they would not overflow us so god let them understand that they are going through that they are not going in the middle to perish but they're going through and on the other side there's a testimony where they can help rescue others father i pray for those that might need healing i pray for your healing touch i speak in the name of jesus i thank you that the holy spirit the spirit of god he's ever present wherever they are there's no time or distance in the realm of the spirit and i pray for the healing anointed to be made manifest in their bodies and i make a demand on that healing anointing that's within them now to come from the inside to the outside and to charge every cell in their body with the life-giving power healing power of the son of the living god oh god i pray for those that may have fallen back and given up i pray that they will pick up their call once again and they will be determined that they are going to fulfill the call of god for their lives i pray it in jesus name have mercy upon us god we give you glory in jesus name amen amen and amen thank you so so very much bishop arthur guys for your teaching on the word of god today and i love this definition that you gave pastor guys for grace the omnipotent operational power of of the holy ghost that is given to us at our point of weakness and it enables us to do what we are called to do wow thank you so much for sharing uh the information those seven statements and we just thank god i love two of them and pastor or uh bishop guys i'm just gonna lift up two of those statements that you've shared that i believe to reiterate what the man of god has spoken to us today he told us in number six specifically to expect the devil to test your level of commitment to your call and he said that discouragement is one of the ways that the adversary works against the body of christ and it also happens through unfulfilled expectations so we want you to know that as uh the man of god is already for for stated that we must know that the enemy will come to test your level of commitment but you have to persevere you've got to press on you've got to know for sure that god has called you to your assignment and you must get that assignment done and i love also number seven in particular and he said it is god's perfect number and it is he said that if you persevere it will be impossible for you to fail my god my god that's what the man of god taught us today if you persevere if you press if you continue if you're dedicated committed to the call of god to the cause of christ that you cannot fail in that powerful hallelujah we won't fail because we are trusting in god and he taught us that we're the ones that permit the failure so let us walk in the spirit of grace let us stand and let us obey what the lord has given through the man of god today and he also talked to us uh even about the primary purpose of jesus christ not just coming to deliver us to take us from hell to heaven but for us to also understand the call of god i'm so glad that jesus christ died on the cross of calvary for our redemption as well for the forgiveness of our sins and he saw that man had sinned against god he saw that we were alienated from god we were separated from god we were born into sin shaping and iniquity but i tell you i thank god that jesus christ paid the cost hallelujah for the sacrifice the thing that would satisfy god he paid the cost for our redemption and because of this we have salvation hallelujah through the blood of jesus christ that was shed on his cross on the cross of calvary i praise the lord i was thinking earlier this week about how in the old testament moses had a principle where he told them to apply the blood to the doorposts and to the lentils and the bible says that when i see the blood that i will pass over you amen it was the lord that gave unto him to share with the the children of israel to apply the blood over the doorposts and over the lentils and it was a certain way that they had to apply the blood the blood could not get to the threshold so he instructed them to use hyssop and to dip the hyssop in the blood and when it began to drip they would have to apply it to the doorpost and to the lentil i tell you i thank god today for the blood of jesus christ and because of jesus we have gained access to the father the bible says that now we can come boldly hallelujah we can come boldly to the throne of grace and obtain favor for our souls i'm so excited about the grace of god the grace the unmerited favor of god listen you all he paid the cost that we could not pay he paid the debt for our sins and i thank him today for his grace i love this definition that pastor geist has given us today again the omnipotent operational power hallelujah of the holy ghost it's not of us it's of the holy ghost our comforter our paraclete the holy ghost is our helper he assists us in time of trouble the holy ghost is our keeper glory to god and in and of ourselves we are all as filthy rags but because of the grace of god and his mercy what is his mercy more kindness than justice requires he's extended unto us his grace and his mercy and he's saying to us that we won't ever fail hallelujah it's impossible to fail i love that it's impossible for us to fail if we persevere and keep pressing on hallelujah to god and i want to even share and let uh pastor know that on the other day that we were talking to a group of married couples and we had such a beautiful uh call a zoom call with the couples of the church and we were talking about expectations unfulfilled expectations so many are disappointed in life because of of unfulfilled expectations but others are disappointed because they've never voiced the the expectation and they're waiting for something they've never expressed so you've got to express your expectation and then prepare and get ready to see the fulfillment of it again i just want to take a few minutes and say to uh bishop arthur guys of the spirit of liberty church in markham illinois that we thank god for your teaching today thank you for showing us in the word of god to know that yes the enemy will try to come in you gotta expect it and i believe that when you hear someone teach you your teacher says listen expect the battle expect the attack expect it because the devil is going to try to test your level of commitment to your call he's going to try you but that's when you got to go to the word of god and say listen though we are tried like silver in the furnace that we shall come forward as pure gold i still believe that things are going to get better and that the best is yet to come thank you so much again man of god for your teaching today and for your prayer that prayer that infused us with power thank you so much we are honored by god for the teaching today i tell you saints i have a new appreciation for teaching i have a new appreciation for the scripture who wrote it why did they write it what it is what was the initial meaning of it i'm so grateful that we can glean the truths of the word of god that's why the bible tells us to rightly divide the word and so when we understand that the word of god is quick and it's powerful and is sharper than any two-edged sword and it's piercing dividing asunder joints and marrow soul and spirit it is a discerner of the thoughts and the intent of the heart listen i want to give you this i give you this i give you the sword of the spirit which is the word of god hallelujah and the more we hear it the more we glean from it the more we hear the scripture the truth of the word of god the stronger we will be as vessels of honor amen i am excited about what i've heard today there's one more thing i want to reference that the man of god said he talked about how a film is developed in a dark room and how that's how the enemy works and brings in darkness i love that analogy as well because sometimes it seems that there are christians that love god that are living a godly life but some of them are plagued by this sense of darkness the spirit of depression the spirit of discouragement these things come to vex the saints but i say to you today amen that god has given us power he's given us the power of the holy ghost to break the spirit of discouragement and to break the spirit of depression that comes along with unfulfilled expectation some people feel like well i should have beat i should have become this in life i should have become that maybe i should have been a writer i should have been this i should have been that and sometimes the enemy torments people and make them feel like complete and utter failures because you didn't fulfill what you felt you should have become but i want to just inject and and and interject this and say that i want you to start saying lord i thank you for your perfect will let your will be done in me lord nevertheless not my will but let your will be done in jesus name praise the name of the lord again we thank god for all of you on our prayer call we love you all i just want to make reference to uh something that happened on yesterday a dear sister in christ a dear beloved woman of god one of our dear sisters passed away in the person of dr iona lock and i just want to say that i've known her for many many years and i just want to lift up her name today and say that she was a vessel of femininity integrity and power um i i when i wrote this that many have referenced her extraordinary gifts but i humbly would like to speak of her warmth the warmth of her personality of her beautiful spirit and of her her smile her kindness i'll never forget our last meeting together we were in detroit michigan uh she was leaving out and i was coming in to minister for one of the pastors there in the detroit area and we were just so glad to see one another and to talk about our ministry assignments and where we were going and what we were doing and we just had such beautiful moments of fellowship in our last time of seeing one another but i just want to thank god for her today and i know that believers and christians around the christian community we have been affected by yet another death of a powerful woman of god and we just thank god for the ministry for just uh being a trailblazer in the area of ministry i think i think about a pastor down in alabama who uh shared with me one time that he had noted that uh that dr iona locke had a way with the scripture and he was so proud of her and how she was able to you know just to break down the word of god in a way that it was applicable and something that could be easily understood and so again i would like to say to her family that i extend to a church or ministry that i personally on behalf of angie ministries this great church on the rock i would like to extend our sincere condolences our profound sadness in the loss of this great woman of god we send to her family our love our sincerity and our continued prayers may the lord be with you all
