[Music] thank you it's i-n-d-i-a versus NDA if you are confused by that alphabet soup we'll wait a few minutes and you'll find out more about the Mojo Story the election season is here and it's here officially the NDA the BJP LED conglomerate of parties has just begun its meeting as the opposition-led unity meet ended in Karnataka the opposition is decided to give itself a new name no longer UPA it's calling itself I Dot N Dot D dot I dot a you read that right India so it's India versus NDA and all day long opposition members have been tweeting India playing quite openly on that pun but the elections will not be decided by slogans alone nor will they be decided by conglomerate names in fact the Indian meat has obviously been time to coincide exactly with the opposition Unity meeting so that the bgp can say we have 38 compared to your 26 what is all of this add up to well the prime minister is presently at the b2p headquarters where he will be leading that Convention of BJP allies and supporters the opposition Unity meeting has just ended in Karnataka there you can see live images of the Prime Minister from the BJP headquarters we'll be listening later to what he has to say for now let's introduce our guests as we look at the countdown uh has kicked off and we look at this particular intriguing phase of between India and NDA let me introduce our guests on the program today arthi Jared senior journalist is with us also joining us uh on the program uh today is a veteran journalist and author sugata srinivas Raju if we can introduce him there he is also joining us is political analyst Manisha Priam uh also on the program today with us as political analyst it's good to see you Mr nambear and also and also joining us on the program is karthika batra political uh analyst and research scholar uh good to see all of you before we get started Let's uh tell you a little bit more about the new name for the opposition uh conglomerate uh if it can be called that I Dot N dot d dot I dot e uh a that's Indian national developmental inclusive Alliance which of course adds up to uh India let me play out for you um explaining this particular acronym our alliance will be called the all people have agreed to have one name for the alliance earlier we worked with UPA now with all 26 parties a new name is given that is Indian national developmental inclusive Alliance that is IND IL and this is Indian national developmental inclusive Alliance so everybody agreed for this so everybody agreed that the new alliance should be named after India let me get first thoughts on the name even as we cut across in a moment from now uh those are images you're seeing from Karnataka like I said the NDA is holding its own meeting led by the Prime Minister uh any thoughts on this particular name sugar that I'll start with you I didn't expect you to start with P burka but because I don't really like what is it's such a very contrived name you know uh it's extremely contrived and it's a it's a it's a product of a very technocratic imagination I mean I can even guess who must have worked on that name tell us who it's very contrived I was wondering why they could not create an acronym why why they could not make Bharat an acronym so this whole name India itself is hugely hugely suggestive of what this Alliance looks like you know I mean the whole cultural connect the whole civilization to collect with the BJP has been speaking about uh is completely missing in this uh acronym that they have created and I'm mildly disappointed and I'm mildly amused as to why they had to add two extra eyes to an NDA yeah I mean if you were the BJP people we were looking at discussing this earlier in our team today and I and I thought if I was the BJP I would say you basically said no India is possible without the NDA because the NDA is right there embedded in those words so if if I were a clever BJP Spin Master that's what I would say now you're saying the word is too labored basically you're saying this is yes two eyes are also you know I mean representative of the Monumental egos I don't know I mean they should have thought better and Bharat would have made a better connect in the Hindi Heartland bharata would have made a better connect in the South Indian landscape I am really uh I've been astounded and surprised and amused as to why they called it in India Manisha priyam do you agree uh I guess the opposition wants everybody to hashtag India versus NDA uh that is clearly uh the the attempt but what do you think do you agree with sugar that it misses its Moorings uh it's over smart too clever by half is what does it mean so what do you think uh I think I'll agree with one part of what suvita said though not on the name itself I do think that there is a name and it has a potential and a punch remember India has a punch always as much as or a little more than uh Bharat Bharat has a punch but India has a punch and uh the fact is that there's been renaming on both sides I mean this was and continues to be a majority BJP government and the fact and as elections have been announced uh there's been a punching about the NDA which had all but not been existent in the outgoing parliament in a few months from now this would almost be the second last session they may have a short winter session and that's just about it so I do think the name India has a Punch The More globalized We Are The More Mr Modi has been able to put a stamp on an international stage remember that stamp is in the name of India so here's a Motley Coalition and this is the part of civitas that I would agree with a Motley coalition of visual parties lots of egos involved there but I think the name India kind of papers over puts a kind of a blanket over the small and Regional Legos and gives them a pan-india existence that at this point of time they do not have it's a name that is recognized and therefore it seems like a brand new kind of presentation remember this branding is important because Bangalore has been important for up until now the anti-congress Coalition of this more or less egoistic but Regional parties this time around the regional parties have considered ground and they've said let the Congress Forge ahead let Sonia Gandhi lead this the regional parties are clearly now saying let the core and kernel of the Congress revive itself and we will remain at the tail end of all this so it's a new type of Engineering in Indian politics where the core of opposition up until now has been an anti-congress Coalition now they are seeding ground to an anti-bjp uh Coalition a BJP led by Mr Narendra Modi so there's no doubt that there an attempt at a new branding and at this point of time some changes the other side the side that's on the defensive pitch has decided to call itself the NDA and batting ready they are on the day that there is a meeting in Bangalore with the the Coalition conglomerate so to say there's also a meeting at the center which prime minister Narendra Modi himself is leading so both sides are battle ready and it's in India match it's an India match with NDA embedded in in it it's a it's a battle for for Bharat uh Bharat is a word that sugata would have preferred to see there Manisha makes the very interesting point that so much of uh the prime minister's domestic popularity also has to do with the perception of where India is on the world stage and the opposition is trying to appropriate this brand name for itself now pick it in Amber what do you think so I'll speak from the two point one is the political second is from The Branding point of view because that's my profession from The Branding point of view it is one of the whomsoever has suggested it's a very very very big mistake for a an association of political parties coming together India belongs to everyone it's not about a group of people India is not something like burqa you since you have born you are about India as a kind word so so as for me so India is an identity of every Indian not of few political and the second one is that what uh my dad it just got an NDA in it I mean uh if you talk about the Indian word and the inclusive and technically also it is wrong because the I you are talking about Indian and finally it is also becoming a India that is also from the granting point of view technically it is wrong now coming to the political aspect there has to be a reason for every to come together it could be something related to some of the core issues here the core issue is simple have you seen any of the political leader in the opposition this so called 26 parties whom uh I would say 80 percent of these parties do not even have a representation in the parliament they do not even have an MLA many of them so but it's it's I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm interrupting you but it's exactly the same for the NDA the NDA meet of 38 parties also has a bulk of parties that do not have looks of our representation the parties that are one leader parties they're small Regional outfits I'm not disparaging anybody but I'm saying for the BJP that was calling this convention in Karnataka khichuri uh you know the BJP has just served or is about to serve up it's about it I was not to eat that before I even completely this kind of this thing will come up but the only thing which you need to understand there there is a political large party which is called as 303 Mark uh in the during the last year so there is a ruling government and the others are joining that Coalition here is why it is called as khichdi just imagine the video yesterday when the my own Uncle one of the Congress leader was receiving the arvind K3 wall and uh and Etc is receiving the arvind kejriwal I felt really sad what are you doing that arvind kejriwal and just imagine in Kerala the BJ the cpim and the Congress is that Arch Rivers they can't even look at each other and they are coming together and creating a coalition so it's a coalition of only one Mantra there is no other issues that is other than the Modi hatred it is correlation there is no other Mantra in this they have some common agendas for an example there was arvind kejri was cheating today that there is the inflation is high but there is I think it is an IIT and he should have at least launched the fact that the both the retail inflation and the wholesale inflation is the lowest okay hang on hang on hang on let's let's come to what the agenda of these groups may be in just a moment when everybody's had their first comments uh you think India is a branding mistake sogata thinks it's too contrived Manisha says it's quite smart even though it helps you kind of paper over uh your other differences what do you think um you know it's quite a mouthful honestly India can you imagine suppose they come to power then will you say the India government I mean you know it just sounds really bizarre frankly but uh what I what I I would like to make just two points I mean clearly they didn't want anything to do with the UPA because the UPA is bad odor you know to associated with corruption and so on yeah so they wanted to go for something completely different uh I guess they weren't very imaginative they could have come up with something better than India um and uh the other thing is that obviously this name had been decided on before they reached Bengaluru okay this is not something that 26 parties sit together and debate over the table you know it's like a summit meeting between uh you know heads of government or heads of state all the work is done behind the scenes in the run-up to the meeting everybody just gets that then the leaders get together and just ratify it so what it suggests to me uh although I don't like the name at all what it suggests to me is that the opposition seems to be getting its act together it seems to be far more focused it is working according to a plan now whether they are able to stay the course over the next nine months to the elections with the BJP trying all kinds of Tricks the way they did in Maharashtra breaking the NCP and so on that remains to be seen But I see some semblance of uh you know some semblance of focus some semblance of a plan as far as the opposition is concerned so you know I just wish they had thought of a better name okay so no one there's only one take up for the name so far which is Manisha priyam with qualified you are you somewhat more impressed so I'm not a marketing expert like PKG is uh but honestly burka this can go either way you know we've all had those moments where something has been done we've given our judgments and then the other party has completely made us feel very embarrassed because they're somehow sort of done with it you know so I think it's still early days the fact that they've come up with something I think that's great and maybe they it now depends on how they use it honestly speaking and I but the one problem that they shouldn't fall for and which is what I saw in the the jdu post that you just showed yeah India banane said don't try to prove that you're Indian please don't because the moment you try to prove your Indian that becomes self-defeating because that shows you have to show that you are Indian so this emphasis India has to stand for something else beyond the literal meaning of it so I think that is what I would sort of caution uh the the I would I would that's my only word of question the the issue with Bharat for example and this is where I feel that it's neither here nor there you know we can have our text right now six months from now imagine Mr kejriwal using the word India beautifully in a rally in say madhya Pradesh or in chattisgarh and then we'll all be like oh you know this was a master stroke so that is also possible but so so so I I really think it can this can this can go either way they may create a start so I was saying the problem with Bharat would have been if they had used something like Bharat what do you think would have happened they the the government would have said see we brought the concept of Bharat back to the Indian lexicon we had become India now the opposition has to come back to Bharat and so you can spin these things whichever way you want to I Really yeah okay now depend on how you utilize this you know like your your Channel's name is Mojo story I can also move it around and say oh XYZ but then it depends on how you're using it right that's my favorite understanding I I I think that's a fair point that people get used to all kinds of names to start with you know does mojo mean magic or does it mean mobile journalism right so I think these are and we keep saying it is magic so the point is uh but you're right but let's let's go beyond the league you spoke about egos uh do you see Sonia Gandhi uh now emerging in some sort of key role again uh you know always talking about retirement but seems to be kind of the only person around whom relationships in the opposition can still be builta I think the Bangalore meet clearly signifies the fact that the the the return of Sonia Gandhi so the the dominance of the Congress is very very apparent uh in from you know it's completely different from what we saw in Patna so with that may work out for the new alliance or it may become detrimental to the new alliance itself because you know there are other people who actually promoted a coming together of the uh parties you know I mean it is it was not Sonia Gandhi's initiative initially I think power was equally invested in the idea nitish Kumar of cause was equally invested I mean is an ironic name to mention after two days with his with his nephew who's now with the BJP that's right and we still don't know how Lalu thinks about it you know the coming see why I am saying that the return of the Congress May spell disaster for the alliance or may create trouble or it may go the other way as well is because see all the other parties in this Ally as the 26 they've all grown at the expense of the Congress and if you are going to follow the nitish Kumar formula or Mamta banerjee's formula which is Congress should be confined to 200 seats or 190 because that is the direct contest that they had with the BJP in 2019 election in two in in 190 seats the Congress fought the BJP directly and the formulation of some of the uh Regional stalwarts is that allow us to fight the BJP because we have fought them better than you so you confine yourself to 190 seats or 200 seats maximum even if you allow Congress to bargain and get about 300 seats that would still be 124 seats or 150 seats less than what they contested last time yeah so what will happen will the Congress agree to that seat sharing formula is the most important question because it's one thing to say that Sonia Gandhi has come back Sonia Congress is dominating I think Manisha ji was speaking about Regional parties allowing the Congress to take lead I completely disagree with it now from the little conversations that I've had I think nobody is faithful to the Congress or the BJP in the 26 members that other than the Congress to itself so right it is a it's a very very difficult thing that's the way forward you see already if you recall the 2022 statement or uh akhilesh yadav very politely saying that he will not be part of the bhara jodo yatra see all of that suggests that nobody will want to concede their terrain to the Congress see Congress is two percent what share in uttar Pradesh why will they why will the SP allow them to contest at least uh you know I mean I think that's an excellent question and let me actually take that to Manisha priyam and then around the panel the Mamta Banerjee formula for this Alliance is that wherever you have a contest there should be only one player taking on taking on the BJP now that is the B the big question can this monthly crew achieve that kind of unity because wherever it's a trifocation uh it's Advantage BJP right and that is why Mamta Banerjee is saying but Rahul Gandhi I don't know if there's a change all this while has always said no to those proposals he he has spoken about rebuilding his party from scratch uh Manisha go ahead how do you see this is where the meat of the matter is it's not whether you call yourself India or Bharat it's it's how you could test the elections what is your speed sharing formula what are the seats you're willing to give up because people will have to give up seats for this not to be a completely fragmented contest so although sugata and I appear to be at two ends of the argument actually we are quite on one side except for our understanding of The Branding and that also I think was a pragmatic use of the name for them to be able to come up remember things like India against corruption the name India is now you know the New Millennium which spoke about a new India stand up India so that's the space they've got into now as far as the election battles are concerned both things have been understood now very well number one the Congress does not do well in electoral battles in VR in uttar Pradesh in Punjab it was wiped out so there are there's no doubt about what subatra said being absolutely correct that uh samajwadi party leader understands that aligning with the congress party or combining with it is a liability for them but there is what is called you know a Talca on the top and there are discussions in up that there are some seats that the samajwadis never do well at and especially these seats on the purvanchal side away from the central uh up more towards the between up and Bihar I've heard discussions uh on the street side in Lucknow saying suppose the samajwadi were persuaded to just give the tarkasi to the companies now I suppose a kharge was persuaded to fight a seat and get in uh you know his identity as a congress leader but also as a tall the lith leader maybe that does them good maybe campaigns effectively and the OBC image comes along with him now this really means a regionalization and mandalization of the name and brand of the Congress rather than any electoral have number one number two in Bihar itself bargained hard and ultimately in the state elections if the party or the alliance could not come to the winning mark it was largely because the Congress was not able to perform now we know what happens in Delhi so the net result is that even after the Bangalore meet there will be very very hard battles and the Congress will really be given Tarka seats at least in up and Bihar what will happen in Delhi and Punjab we don't know but it will require one of the egoist mediators to come by and sit in on a meeting between arvind kejriwal and the Congress and we don't know what's exactly going to happen but last time around also by the way Rahul Gandhi was willing to conceive at least two seats to the amavi party the amavi party had more or less agreed but finally after walking out of the talks I said okay we go back on our talks so that was what had happened in the last elections so crucial to this Alliance will be whether they call themselves India or they call themselves bhara crucial will be how many seats will the Congress perform in in areas that it has not performed in however the regional parties also understand that allowing an arvind kejriwal to act as a vote cutter for the Congress whenever the Congress is sliding Mars the chances of the Congress and therefore to sharpen the edge of the Congress wherever it can take the bjpr in a straight battle that's a bet that this Coalition is willing to take on and they'll be able to restrain the other parties from acting as some kind of you know trying to make it a three corner or four corner and cutting off two thousand four thousand seven thousand ten thousand critical words it has gone back to the drawing board this will be seat by seat and it will be a contest where many gangsters and many posters will look at how many can poll even ten thousand or Twenty Thousand yeah yeah yeah yeah for at least 56 in this Lok Sabha I was just going to say that's very very interestingly explained Manisha ji but I was just going to say that the opposition will want to regionalize this election they do not want they say or they want me to be fought as an aggregate or 500 plus uh see it's almost as if these were 500 plus local elections that's very difficult to do given the Modi fact I was going to go to PKD but I saw yeah this is so much to unpack here uh Dr Priya might sort of very infrequently disagree with her I actually feel the it it will all boil down to the seats where the Congress has a presence and its strike rate because for any effective opposition to materialize the Congress has to cross 100 125. those seats are not coming from up or Bihar or even Andhra Pradesh today they have to come from madhya Pradesh chhattisgarh haryana uh Gujarat Rajasthan States like those and I feel that as as easy as it may sound to just say this is an arithmetic Alliance actually even arithmetically this Alliance this opposition front is vulnerable I'll tell you why in 2019 on 224 seats the bjp's vote share was 50 plus I I agree with all of that that won't be replicated for sure but I'm saying that if you were to take that as some sort of an indicator just imagine the uphill task that the opposition is because in these 224 seats you can add up any parties but it's going to be less just going by their Baseline figures so what is required and the other condition is the Congress has to breach 100 120. what will come to the congress's rescue Barka therefore is not the arithmetic but the chemistry in state after State opposition leaders will have to transfer their credibility from their states to the Congress so nitish kumarji comes with The credibility of social justice that will have to be transferred and arvind kejriwal comes with an a credibility of urban governance that is but it's but it's but really it's easier said than done and the last set of assembly elections gives you a clue hang on hang on it gives you a clue that people can respond to their Regional leaders in a local election with great support and and they Direction can go a completely different way by the time the Lok Sabha comes so the Congress won Rajasthan madhya Pradesh and uh which one am I missing guard in 2018 and in 2019 it it it does completely differently in the looks of elections in these very States now hang on I want to I want to go ahead one more point one more point to what you said I don't think that in a tri cornered fight the BJP gains an advantages this is what you said in fact if you look at up 2019 when the election became completely bipolar SP bsp one side BJP on another side the bjp's vote share actually touched a new high yeah yeah that would that would work in a state like uttar Pradesh but not in a state like Telangana where you're actually giving an opportunity to a party like Telangana rashtrian now the BRS to join hands with the BJP so it were very straight to state but hang on hang on I have to give PKD and aarti a chance to come in I want to just briefly play out the prime minister's gonna speak life when he does we'll cut across uh to him but what's interesting is but they're holding their own meeting on the same evening and the prime minister no less is leading this meeting the prime minister no less is training his guns at this convention listen to what he said just hours ago about the opposition Unity meeting in Karnataka satio bastard is of the people by the people for the people leaking of the family by the family for the family first Nation nothing hey Family First the Dynasty is back at the center of this debate my question to you pikidi is this why is the BJP feeling the need to hold its own convention today why I'm I'm a bit curious about that see it's a very aggressive political force it don't work to stand at what time how to play uh into the political game all over it is it understands it understands marketing it understands system is to understand processes and it takes for congress for an example this uh conference which happened they have changed the date two times but you don't even get to know that in the same day they have been able to get 38 parties on one fold and to come out with a surprise as a myth you must you would have got to know about this meeting only yesterday so there is this is there is a huge difference between these two but why not ignore why not what is the difference what is the difference between these alliances one you said is an incumbent it's a powerful force there's an obvious leader that's the first difference right there is there is no ambiguity over who is the leader of the NDA that's the key difference according to me yeah heading the coalition is also very clear that is BJP but in the case of the other one tell me is the congress's the one who is the main opposition party in that I don't think that nidesh Kumar is ready to agree I don't think that even the the Tamil Nadu chief minister is ready to agree that even to an extent both Mamta and Stalin has told multiple times we are either a equal party in the with the number of seats about 50 odd seats for the Congress and 38 for the uh the other parties so they have a bigger presence so they don't have to budge according to Congress the whole idea is that yes you have to do something against the Modi if the Modi is going to rule for another five years where are we going to our family Politics as the Prime Minister said worries our families are going to we are we know without the power how long we will be able to sustain many of us may go inside the jail because of an ed or a CBA or the corruption charges which exist so but and another thing which I wanted to say that this is the uh discussion was completely going to the election micro election details since uh I do that quite a bit I must tell you that it is not a time to do this uh cast arithmetics obviously tribal scst come on we have moved away the number of people who holds them the the smartphone today is much bigger I'm not saying that you you don't you don't you don't think abhisha's team plans the constituencies cast wise you don't you don't think they you don't think the other obcs were critical to them winning uttar Pradesh I mean it's okay to say India has transcended a caste but you know in in so many ways every political calculation is still driven by caste predominantly in the TV studios uh quite different I can tell you this that because the the legacy of the way we look at the elections have been changed unfortunately people today don't work uh only just look at the some of these uh these calculations is to change that even on the same day that the election results are coming in the people are started even karate will say that the OBC is aborted for these set of people or these people have voted for the tribals have voted for the Congress but that's okay let me let me pick up the let me pick up this last Point let me go to aarti let me pick up your point and take it to RT because it's an interesting point right the BJP has always hoped that the Modi Factor will transcend other fault lines and I think that's in a way the point that PKD number is is is making uh the opposition wants it to be Team India versus NDA check the India and so on but there is the Modi factor and that is the key difference when the opposition when Team India for I don't know how to address it when Team India goes into battle in 2024 against the NDA who will be the leader of Team India arthi is that the biggest weakness of the opposition Alliance um no but you know there's several points I want to make and I I just want to rewind a little bit to what the Prime Minister said before the uh Mega NDA meet began and I think the opposite the BJP needs to be very careful about the words it chooses to attack the opposition because if they're talking about it being corrupt if they talk a gathering of corrupt parties if they're talking about it being a gathering of dynastic parties well I'm afraid if you look at the constituents of today's NDA the same charges could be leveled against the NDA I mean what is Ajit pawar he comes from you know it is a dynastic party right uh and he's facing all kinds of charges Eda Ed CBI all the people who've come from the NCT the BJP was trying very hard to get the akalida lane what is here but a family-run party today and has charges of corruption against it I mean I could go on and on I don't want to do waste job type but there are so many constituents of the NDA which can be accused of the same thing so I'm afraid the BJP needs to reframe its attack on this India uh whatever you know we want to call it yeah because this is not going to wash and people you know I think in their arrogance the BJP should not feel that voters are idiots or their fools and they will be taken in by what what they're saying just because it's coming from Modi who is you know such a powerful orator people understand and people know so let's put that aside as far as uh you know um this whole battle is concerned uh sorry what was the question you would ask me I forgot who is the leader who is the leader of this team yes so you know I think uh we must understand why Sonia Gandhi has been brought into the picture and I think you know that is really key to understanding what is going on in the opposition I think one of the main reasons that Sonia Gandhi has been brought in is because of course she's a consensual figure and she gets on very well with all these people but it is also to prevent this from becoming a Modi versus Rahul battle if Sonia Gandhi is there very much in front and her face is on the posters of course along with Rahul gandhis you can't say it's Modi versus Rahul Gandhi anymore and that will says Modi versus gandhis but Gandhi is in madhya Pradesh in Rajasthan but not gandhis in Bengal not gandhis in you know Maharashtra not gandhis in uh you know up not gandhis in Bihar so you know it it becomes very difficult for the BJP to try and frame this as a Modi versus I think I I think I think it is in 1979 uh was it in 1979 forget the date tell us a story what's the story never mind I'm a little confused so let it be when I remember it clearly I will tell you okay but I think that there is I mean that's one of the main reasons why Sonia Gandhi is being foregrounded today so that it does not become a battle between Modi and Rahul and you know the BJP can go on bleeding Who's Your Leader who's your leader but frankly I don't think the opposition really cares to answer that question anymore they and that was the reason why Kar Gaye said very clearly today that the Congress is not seeking power we will take all decisions postponed okay let me bring in Mr nambiar and we can start taking last comments I was hoping the Prime Minister would begin his speech but he hasn't yet uh yeah I just want to give you a glimpse of our poll now of course this is not a scientific poll this is just an online poll uh and it could speak to you know audience biases who are watching I must put all those Health warnings who will win 2024 India 54 NDA 46 that's the Mojo story poll uh how many how many votes do we have right now if somebody can tell me that uh we can we can update that as well what is the sample size this poll is still live uh do go ahead and take part in this poll and we'll update the numbers as they come Mr nambia go ahead and make your point so well uh I I'll tell you one is that the way you have written in your whole outcome that is India 54th percent that itself is wrong it is not that India it is a full stop and full stops yeah this is yes that's a good point we should change we should change that graphic and make it ideology but but here's my point they are hoping that a lot of people will use their name colloquially as India how will you stop it we can change the graphics we'll change the graphics but no India yeah this is where I started with even in the granting point of view or on the communication point of view it's going to be actually making a big mistake for those people India is not nothing new India is something which is there forever it's for you it's for me so I will stop in full stop so this is going to be creating a chaos for them as a communication expert as a marketing expert I can tell you that second part of that because this is an example right now what you did it's not consciously you your team has done it right because I asked them to change it because I think you're technically correct but it also illustrates to me that this is the obvious opposition aim that you use the name as a shorthand right everyone in fact it is not only you even I am telling you that 99 of the people are going to make this mistake and that mistake alone is going to you don't even get to know the exactly how it works it's a science so it works in the against any particular brand which they are trying to create second part of it is that we are trying to say the door now the Sonia Gandhi has come back so it's going to be is the whole question is that everybody in India today wanted to know who would be that is not clear this election and this discussion is just waste of time so it's all about that everybody knows that Narendra Modi is a household name he is somebody who command respect and respect I agree with you I agree with you where where let me tell you but I agree with you but I agree with you is that I think that without a leader and I know aarti is saying the clever thing is with Sonia Gandhi in front you evaded the battle being Modi versus Rahul but it cuts both ways doesn't it because if you don't have a leader the Modi versus who continue you can't say Modi versus India that that actually makes no sense right uh so this has been a corrected graphic but once again this is just the beginning of the poll we have less than 300 votes in right now we've just started this poll uh feel free to vote here everybody who's who's watching by no way is a conclusive comment on anything just having a bit of fun here uh go ahead yeah yeah even as I was listening to all the panelists especially the brand specialist Mr nambiar is a simple test for the acronym how will you translate it into any of the scheduled Indian languages say to Hindi or my kannada or a Bengali or Gujarati just translate the whole thing and it looks ridiculous I have been trying out a few options uh trying to help my friends in the Congress or the opposition but nothing seems to work so that's a that's a short point the second point is you know when uh you asked this question earlier why the BJP could have ignored it they could have just said what is this small kid should be it's okay see it's it's the social mind social media mindset you know they want to react to everything they want to manage the next day's headlights and you'll be surprised I don't know if it has come to your attention worker they put up posters in Bangalore this morning and issued an advertisement on the front page of a national daily the Bangalore Edition where they put a collapsed sultanganj Bridge and said welcome nitish Kumar and they said first date of collapse April 2022 second date of collapse June 2023 welcome to nitish Kumar so that bridge the sultanj bridge as a big poster on the streets of Bangalore and on the front page advertisement of a national daily was was made into a metaphor so I mean I what what a BJP could have ignored everything but this is a kind of party which tries to not leave anything to chance they are they don't want to risk anything and even if they are going to get one percent extra they're going to put in 100 but isn't that but isn't that an admirable quality for a political party yes it is and that is precisely why you know if the if the opposition messes up even with its name without having worked it out in any of the Indian languages just imagine how are your posters going to be written in VR what is the rural electorate going to call it so that is precisely why I said that it's a bit of a contrived thing coming with a complete technocratic uh okay before I give Dr priyam the last word go ahead I sort of did I think we are still making up our mind prematurely you know you just did something which was a very interesting thought experiment you said Team India you think that Indian cricket team doesn't have recall in rural Bihar I think this is all premature okay so yeah I think it's a very intuitive name I agree with the PKD that it will now depend what sort of a new definition you attach with it that recall value has to be Associated by the actions of the of the front so I still feel it's too premature to sort of Judge whether this is India Team India whether it will fly or not I frankly disagree with that honestly the one thing I find missing here is and I we I was on a show with sugar last night also is that the inclusive part of India is well known to us now I think on welfare reason on social inclusivity this front has shown us its credentials I where I find a big problem is the aspirational sort of argument I still don't see an aspirational argument coming from the opposition side the last thing I want to say is that you said that the Prime Minister versus all now I could flip the argument and say that by with today's meeting it's now become NDA versus T whatever India now what the what the operation has to do is paste two pictures not with by the way that's the bridge that's the bridge yeah getting my point that couldn't the opposition do the following you know in earlier it used to be the Prime Minister versus the rest now it's it's the Prime Minister plus 37 versus the Congress versus 25 now in a one-on-one battle you tell me DMK versus aiadmk you tell me TMC versus land party who's winning so okay I think this can be spun in so many different ways but but let me let me ask this let's wait to see how it evolved that's a fair point let me give it to let me give Dr Manisha film The Last Word what's happening is very interesting the BJP has always in a way Cooperative nationalism by calling itself this I Dot N dot d dot I dot a India uh the opposition is trying to say no we take back some of this nationalism now Karthik is right the bgp could come back with hard hitters this is the time when you question the Army here this is the time when you did this here this is the time when you didn't stand for a police officer in batla house this is the time when Singh said this one 26 11. you're also opening yourself to that conversation instead of bitly it's It's a risk it could go either way I just want to get your last thoughts in also on the NDA strategy the NDA putting its muscle flexing they're saying we have Modi but we also have all these others uh you know thank you for these last words I'm taking baby steps and I'm learning from all my esteemed co-panelists here I uh want to reconsider the fact that I did think initially that this might work for them but then I saw endorsement and the qriket analogy was right there and I suddenly saw Bihar enter the Mainframe I didn't do it but I am now uh revealing a positionality I do happen to be that rural uh bihari uh I'm not surprised by the fact that you know the rural imagery the imagery of the small and the brand uh specialist who's here who said we are you know this is an India that's Thinking Beyond cars it's called mobile phones now this uh opposition conclave did not want to call itself the mobile party of India although we'll have a Mojo here so I think they made errors and and these are obvious obvious ones that they could have gone for in Bangalore they needed to be more tech savvy and even x uh posts the event this suggestion must go to them as Citizens here but the sultan ganj Bridge you know I didn't even know but sugata informs me now that is very important that is meant that you know to show you that the image of sushan Babu is that of a collapsing bridge and for our viewers here let me tell you that the sultanganj bridge is a very important Bridge especially in this month which is the savan mass when the cavalias go and you cross this bridge to be able to go over to the most important of the shivalingas that we have in that part of the country so you can see that in a very Regional and in a very nuanced way each one of those who sit in Bangalore today they will have to look at their report cards and however much we want to say that it should be a pan uh India and a post uh you know mobile or an artificially intelligent society that should look at new party political formations each one of those battles remember greeting Mr Modi at the four court is none other than uh jitan ram majhi somebody who nitish Kumar anointed as the chief minister of Bihar the Hindustan awam morcha party so unfortunately caste regionalism local languages will be at the center of the 2024 elections we have still not uh decided I withdraw my early theory about uh the name and I suggest therefore that more P may be such a good name to uh you know we must follow advice and now ultimately all political parties I want to reconsider I do take critique in my stride yes I would like to say I I would like to say that a good debate should should do that it should change some minds and we've seen one changed mind yeah a hugely I hugely respect Manisha ji so I mean I will I will also sort of take some of her points okay great listen I'm there let's end on a convivial note since everybody is being a little convivial one point that there is a slight change that the change is that in the last 2019 election there was a survey after that 60 of the people have voted not for the local MPS of the bjb but in the name of Narendra Modi so let me tell you that in the coming election too I still consider that if Narendra Modi versus who it is not going to be just a local MP and his performance will be measured it will be measured at the national leader and who is pitting against Narendra Modi and I don't think anybody in this league till some time ago I was thinking kejriwal or maybe uh somebody like Sharad pawar but you know see that if they are not even able to manage their own parts and now arthi wants to come in now arthi wants to come in briefly also yes I agree with you I think Narendra Modi is quite capable of carrying an entire election on his back he is such a dominant figure why revive the NDA now on the eve of Elections why suddenly bring 37 parties to Delhi one-man parties parties without representation because because to show you it's to show the opposition what you can do we can do better whatever so it's a pathetic kind of level I mean it's a pathetic level to which the BJP has stooped to compete I really do have to close Mr Modi is so dominant and so big let's just concentrate on Mr Modi why bring in all these and you know all these why bring in the show up I think you what what you said because I have huge respect but I can tell you one thing all these parties coming is symbolic I don't think that there will be adding too much of a value it is basically we are you are in a Marketplace wherein you are competing with each other tomorrow the only thing which we need to understand that is the political leadership do matter as long as with the current situation we are not seeing that with Sharad power going down and becoming weaker and so is nitish Kumar and I don't even think that in another three months his party will be there he may be the only learned MLA and the rest of everybody's join some other parties they should not be separate then I am warning you here and secondly that is waiting for the right time they are looking for an opportunity to join back the NDA so what would I do so another family run party yes that's true with corruption charges okay Interruption charges that that part is true uh I think the bottom line is that the opposition is dealing with an enormously popular leader all poll surveys show that Mr modi's uh sort of you know popularity has not has not diminished it's actually increased and and and at some point it isn't just a an agenda but also a leadership question that the opposition is going to have to resolve I I don't know what the smarts is in pushing that question to after the polls but we have a year to do many such discussions this is only the beginning uh the fun has only just started thank you very much uh RT PKD Dr priyam to sugata and to our audience uh our live coverage continues at the Mojo Story the
