Barbie - Movie Reaction - First Time Watching

[Music] hey everyone welcome back to the channel Madison and Christian here and today we're getting into the Barbie movie finally now we're still trying to play catchup on all the movies we missed back in 2023 and so this month we decided that we would ask our patreon supporters for help in prioritizing what movies to watch and they chose the Barbie movie so we're definitely hyped to get into this one now we did see that the cast for this movie is just super stacked ever since we saw the trailer which itself was hilarious um just the little bit we got it seems like they're not really taking the movie too seriously which is a good thing um now I do know that there's a bunch of songs and dance numbers in this movie so quick disclaimer I'm going to try to use as much of the music as I can but I do have to kind of cut a little bit here and there um to get around copyright issues and things like that so with all that being said I think we're ready to get into the movie as always thank you guys so much for joining us today let's do it let's do it since the first little girl ever existed there have been dolls it's like 2001 can be fun at least for a while anyway ask your mother you look so Bleak right this continued until that looks like little you first the first Barbie oh my God that does look like me this little girl is [Music] precious that was perfect that really was then she changed it all again all of these women a Barbie M Barbie's with jobs but she became so much more she has her own money her own house her own car yes and this has been reflected back onto the little girls of today in the real world it's so gr it's all gr thanks to Barbie all problems of feminism and equal rights have been sold all of them all of them who my to burst their bubble oh my gosh this is going to be amazing isn't it living her best day every day that was a really cool shot all the way [Music] in man this place is really pink right oh the water doesn't come out oh my God gosh if that was really [Laughter] mirror I always thought that was the coolest way to get out of the house too a [Music] slide nothing comes out right [Music] checks cool cool just pick them up and put them where you want them to go she floats you use your imagination love it Barbie's pregnant friend well let's not show MIT actually she was discontinued by Mattel because a pregnant doll is just too weird yeah my God Barbie everybody's Barbie she's not even driving oh man women at work women at work oh love it seriously no comment black Barbie president I heard that yeah I have no difficulty holding both logic and feeling at the same time and it does not diminish my Powers I love it it expands oh this is is great barie has a great day every day but only has a great day if barie looks at leaving I'm not sure I know what beaching off means right what does that entail oh okay ER Barbie mhm here to save the day these are like the real sets too I think this is so cool great not even broken you'll be fine shredding waves as much it's a sticker like and it is not lifeguard which is a common misconception very common yeah cuz actually my job it's just Beach oh what I don't have anything B plan just a giant blowout party with all the Barbies and plant choreography and a b foke song you should stop by so cool so just another day yeah right she throws a rager every night yeah become weirder and then you look like me oh god oh no I understand I set myself up for that I'm obsessed with weird Barbie she's great she was cool so you don't get cellulite I bet you're scared and I bet she doesn't even want you to go well you bet both those things incorrectly and I bet in the opposite direction oh God I love the Ken rivalry I'll bet every woman will say thank you and give you a really big hug yes you're right oh no how is this going to go not like that she's going so slow I know oh my God okay they landed perfectly you can't make me look uncool in front of Ken Ken's not cool Barbie just to deal with how uncomfortable it is I understand that so she's going to be human I think so I always knew that Barbie would surprise me but I never expected this do you give me permission and Plastics of Barbie land for The Pastels and Plastics of Los Angeles okay let's do that's a political State yes we can that's appropriation dad name oh um Handler comma barbar oh I'm here to see my [Laughter] gynecologist oh because she has a vagina now oh true she's not a doll anymore oh my gosh that's hilarious buddy why is there only one Allen I know Tanner and it poops look the food you feed it comes out the [Music] butt oh that's the camera one wow wow what the hell well guys that was a pretty awesome movie I have to say like my face hurts right now from just grinning and smiling the whole time like I felt like a Barbie while I was watching it because my face was just like stuck in a smile the whole time um but first and foremost I feel like this movie was just hilarious like from the from the jump from the get-go um the jokes like pretty much all of them were Landing for me I thought the oh yeah all the different Kens and stuff that was hilarious dialogue was just really witty and and well written um I really loved Allen as kind of like the punching bag sometimes and I didn't even I honestly had no idea he was a real doll so that was really cool to find out he's just Ken's buddy yeah there's like a thousand Kens and only one Allan one Allen yeah hey it's pretty cool pretty cool we also felt that all the costumes and the set designs and everything uh were also really amazing mhm um all the dance numbers felt like like Broadway or something yeah and the songs I I was going to say speaking on the songs there weren't too many you know I I feel like too many songs in a movie can you know just get kind of okay here's another one you know so I liked that there were only a few they were all bangers and like you said the choreography was fantastic so it definitely made it entertaining I also loved how all the set pieces were like an actual Barbie house you know the water's not real nothing has anything in it like I thought it was so cool to see a liveaction Barbie like really live that out because I felt like when you were playing with a Barbie Dreamhouse when you were a kid like that's how you would imagine it so it was just really cool I would love to see like a behind the scenes on how they like did this entire movie because or like visit it if it was a place oh my God I would like I don't even like the color pink like that but I would visit this Barbie land for sure I do feel that this movie also kind of kept it moving it started we had the whole dance number and everything at the beginning but then we got to the real world stuff pretty early on I felt like and we never really stayed in one location for too long and the movie never really got stagnant so I appreciate that they really kept things moving yeah like even when they were in the real world I mean you notice like Barbie and Ken were going from place to place you know we were seeing other people and honestly I had a lot of fun you know exploring the Real World Through The Eyes of Barbie and Ken and being in Barbie land and exploring it through like me being a human so I don't know it was a really cool movie and they everything Blended really well now I did want to say um that I really appreciated America ferrera's speech that she gave stereotypical Barbie um when she kind of like made her snap out of her Funk um I thought it was a really good thing to say because I feel like a lot of women have a hard time explaining why it's so difficult to be a woman but it is because everything is so contradictory you know you like basically everything she said it was the most perfect speech of what it is to be a woman and how absolutely hard and a daunting task it is sometimes but I felt like I needed to hear that I feel like every woman needed to hear that and you're right like this movie was super funny it had a great message it was super meta at times too um but I felt like the message wasn't overly preachy and I really did enjoy it and I'm sure there are a lot of women and young girls who probably saw this movie and felt pretty uplifted and maybe happy to be a woman after seeing it so or like I don't know maybe they have a little hope going into their future so I don't know I really enjoyed that well guys this movie was definitely worth the wait and we're so glad we finally got to watch it with you guys but as always we do want to thank our patreon
