Bank Error - Bill Searching for Fancy Serial Numbers and Star Notes

figured I would go ahead and do another bill search since I get asked many times if I could do more of them but in this hunt we'll be doing three hundred five dollar bills and one hundred ten dollar bills everybody its Rob and Rob finds treasure that's right we've got another bill search today obviously I'll be looking for any fancy or cool serial numbers as well as any star notes old bills you name it now if you want to know what a fancy or a cool serial number is of a link down to a website below that will explain it more in detail but at the end of the day a lot of collectors look at the serial numbers on a bill and they look for something that has meaning like are they all one number like a solid in other words two two two two all the way across are they in binary where the silh number consists of two different numbers some people collect try Nerys or the sil number consists of three different numbers but I will show you an example of one that I would keep but typically I don't keep trying Aires unless the order of the numbers is special they also look for things like radars repeaters double quads low sill numbers high serial numbers birthday notes and all kinds of other goodies especially the date has some historical significance like if the sillim was zero seven zero four one seven seven six July 4th 1776 the birth of our nation but at the end of the day at the end of the day we're hoping we find something all right I'm gonna set the tripod up and we'll do a time-lapse hunt on all of these ideally what I'm hoping for is at least to find some star notes that we could check their print run and rarities to see if they're rare and of course for any of you who have star notes out there and you want to check to see if yours are rare of a link down to the star note lookup site below now that we've talked long enough we're gonna kick it off with the tens first since it's just one strap let me get the tripod set up and we'll do the hunt all right we have got the strap of tens ready to go I went to and flipped into the reverse and made sure they were all correct facing that will expedite the hunt now that we've done that without seeing the serial numbers let's get started and see if we have any goodies [Music] so as you saw really nothing that fantastic in the $10 bill search there was some triple sevens in there but I don't keep those some people do like the lucky sevens I personally don't see any value in them and they're harder to move but this one I pulled aside only to show you once again it was a trinary five - five - and then the nine throws it off - five five obviously had it been five two five two five two five - it'd be a really nice note or any combination of twos and fives having the nine in the middle definitely makes the bill not collectible if it started off with a nine and was all chosen fives it would feel better but this trinary is not one that I'm gonna keep I will again at the end of the video show you one that I have kept because I think it's a pretty nice trinary but for this one it will be gone back so unfortunately no star notes no lower hi serial numbers no fancy or cool sale numbers that's bill searching one-strap attends down now we'll be doing fives next and I'll do all three straps under the tripod but first let me get them set up to make the hunt easier okay we've righted all the bills we're ready to begin the hunt let's pray we get something in this strap [Music] alright as you saw we hunted that strap of 5s really nothing that great I kept this one out only to point out that you do want to look for low sill numbers a low sill number really is under 10000 and technically to be considered a really low serial number you really want it under a thousand that being said this is under fifty thousand zero zero forty nine thousand nine forty two I'm not gonna keep it because it is not low enough but I just wanted to point out to you whenever you see a bill with at least four zeros in front of it it's definitely a keeper this one only has three first five dollars strapped done let's get the second strap right here situated and I'll bring you in for the hunt all right we've got the second strap a five situated rate of hunt let's get to it [Music] so the second strap of fives has been hunted and we had a really good fine but I wanted to take a second to show you why I pulled this one out just for learning purposes this is almost the birthday note or a anniversary note it's got 2007 but then it's got a 15 26 had this been 2,000 705 26 it would've been May 26 2007 we're off by a digit which you will find this would have been a birthday or anniversary or you name it it is backwards 2007 I like it at the end I would have preferred an o-5 26 2007 but in a lot of countries that you put the year first either way it's not a keeper it's not a birthday note it's just a close call which is why I pulled it out for learning however we did find a beautiful note right here first and foremost it has a crease and it's not in crisp uncirculated condition so for bills it will always affect the value that being said it's not aesthetically unpleasing to look at it doesn't look that terrible but the serial number is a radar a radar is where the first four numbers are exactly reverse order of the last four so I get bounces back 6-3 6-2 6-3 6-2 a true radar too bad it's not a binary radar it's a trinary the trinary being the two three and six still a very collectible note I would say if it would have been crisp uncirculated probably would be about a $20 bill even though it's a five dollar bill in this condition I probably can get up to ten bucks for it maybe but still not bad I'm able to get more for it it depends on the right collector but I'm not selling it I'll be holding onto this in my collection and I will show you how I store these at the end of the video now that we've done two straps let's get the final five dollar strap searched but let me get it in good order first and see if we have any more goodies in here you're not gonna believe this I'm going through the bills and writing them and we've got a 20 in here we've got a 20 in here so I figured I would quickly on camera go through the rest of them I cannot believe we got a 20 in here let's leave it where it's at and continue to see if there's another miscount by mistake got an old five well as fate would have it I cannot believe we got a $20 bill this has happened to me one other time and it happened in one of my $1 bill straps where I had a 20 and a five instead of two other ones never have I gotten a 20 and a $5 bill strap we just made 15 bucks unbelievable you can't get mad at that all right let me go back to writing the bills and then we'll do the bill search unbelievable all right the bills are righted I'm still super excited about getting a $20 bill in there I'll put that with the fines because technically we're up 15 bucks now that we've done that let's see if there's anything fancy in here and we know we had at least one old one let's do the odd [Music] [Music] [Music] so unfortunately the third strap didn't produce anything cool and ironically out of the four straps we searched we got zero star notes and typically I find one star note for every 100 bills typically now it's not uncommon to go several bills without a star note and then grab a couple of star notes in a particular strap but we didn't get any cool thing is we did get a small head old-style five-dollar bill I do keep these regardless I think they're beautiful pieces of history if you will and I know it's only a 95 bill so it's not that long ago but it is a design from a long time ago they've changed the design on the bills three or four times since they've arrived at the new designs either way I like it I'm gonna keep it the find of the hunt other than the radar which we'll get to is this 20 dollar bill I mean at the end of the day we made $15 on a bill you cannot get mad at that without having to do anything else very cool now that we've done that let me go ahead and talk about a few of the bills we did find as well as a few other bills just to show you so for today's hunt the three bills I'm keeping if you will although we'll be spending the twenty is the five dollar old-style note and this really cool radar and I like to put these bills when I keep them my collection in one of these plastic sleeves and then in a hard plastic bill holder as well to protect the bill once you do that you can handle it pretty easily and not worry about damaging it just wanted to show you what I have as far as keeping them protected and of course I have links to these items down below in the video description that being said I said I would show you a cool trinary so when I went to purchase the silver purchase that I had for that big silver purchase that I made I had to pull out 100s and in all of those hundreds there was two bills I saw in there that I figured I would show you one is this trinary right here if it not had not been an 8 in the front if it have been a binary with sevens and ones it would have been an epic pill but it has an 8 in front but because it's also in front it's kind of a cool trinary I've held it for illustrative purposes only because it's a hundred dollar bill I can't afford to be holding on to bills like that that are kind of cool but not very cool just wanted to show you this bill and show you what a trinary that might be collectible would look like and then I also in that same batch of hundreds had a star note and I have yet to check its rarity so I figured since we're here at the video let me bring up the star note lookup website and we'll do a live star note rarity look up on this hundred dollar bill so on the website my currency collection com there's a section for star don't look up it's pretty basic all you have to do is bring up your denomination and in my case it's 100 dollar bill and we know that it's a 2013 series so we go down to the series right here and bring up 2013 all that's left to do is plug in the seal number mine is M G 0 0 3 5 4 2 2 4 and I don't need to put the star it'll tell me so this is a pretty decent one it's right in the middle of the less rare to more rare scale it is a 640,000 print run size although it's 3.8 million total printed which hurts so you can see in this series I got one of the more rare notes right here that's pretty cool but at the end of the day because there's 3.2 million more notes printed in the series that's quite a bit at the end of the day because it has a little bit of folding it's probably not worth keeping now some people will buy these kinds of notes for a little bit over face maybe 110 dollars for this hundred dollar note but by the time I pay for shipping and insurance to make sure that it gets there it's a break-even proposition not worth handling if it had been six hundred and forty thousand fully printed and it was one of six hundred and forty thousand for the whole series then we'd be talking still pretty cool didn't know I had a 640 imprinted 100 our bill note that I had found very nice in the last couple of weeks I've also found a few other star notes just in pocket change figured we'd take a look at these as well here's a five-dollar bill so I will go up here really quick change the nomination to five dollars we know it's also a 2013 so I'll go ahead now and bring up the serial number which is MF zero three five one six one five two well look at it oh so we look this one up and this one's even more rare print runs only three hundred twenty K but the total printed ten point eight million that hurts so you can see we have one of the two rarities in this series unfortunately that is a large large print run that being said because it is such a smaller print run and it's only a five dollar bill I'll likely be holding on to that and then the final one I'm excited about because it is a low serial number three zeros in the front it's only fifteen thousand four ninety eight so typically that could mean it's a part of a low series so we'll change this to a one dollar bill this again is two thousand thirteen which we have there and that will type in the serial number which is be one two three zeros one five four nine eight and once again it's another low run size 250 K but holy cow twenty two point six million printed ironically it is the best run series of the total series but look at all those notes they printed holy cow again even though it's more rare this does hurt the value of the bill and the condition of this one is not the best creases some deterioration the edges aren't crisp and we've got some folds but it's only a dollar bill and I don't mind holding on to it for my collection so three pretty good finds nine times out of ten when I pull up star notes they're not part of a small print read and they're part of a total print run that's huge so the fact that we have three better notes here is very cool on top of that we got a twin are bill an old bill and a great in my opinion radar bill will put that back in the bank will hold on to these bad boys for now and
