Bad Corn Become Good Silage!!!

you excited to chop today ellie get that salad done [Music] it's a little early in the season we'll be doing it but you know it's been so dry we've had neighbors start cutting already and these chopping crews are going out and they've been chopping corn we have one field that's been alfalfa for many years and we chiseled it last fall and so it's been drier we don't think that corn is going to mount too much plus we could use more silage our sorghum which we cut every year is a little too wet and too short we were supposed to get an inch of rain yesterday day before we our chance went up to 90 dad and i were like yeah we're getting rain and then the next morning not a single drop and i cried a little bit that was kind of a bummer though we do have a slight chance for tomorrow we'll see what happens it will help the beans the corn is pretty much dead drying down anyway with the crew we have come they got a 68 50 and they got two trucks running and so we'll see that in action more today we got to get ready hopefully by the end of the day there's a pretty good jag of silage in here howdy [Music] come on come on i bet you're proud of this machine you want to give a little spiel about it so it's got a plant holder here for the for her pleasure what then you can just easily transport it into a pot because the whole root comes right with it leon manufacturing developed that technology by accident it's called having your silage and eating it too okay i grew up with a leon dozer dad had one we put it on multiple tractors over several decades and changed the mount several times and i decided that i was going to try to find a leon blade over by lecher there was a farm sale that had one and it had the nice built uh extensions on there that were made very well it had the mount for a 1086 international on there so if you look over here all i did was took the blade off got rid of the mount and welded euro hookups right on this frame here which is nice because now i can raise it up high i can tilt it so so now we're just waiting if anybody needs to buy the mount for a leon it's got a hydraulic cylinder on it i'm keeping the blade but i would sell you that mount for 400. it's sitting in the trees yep cylinder included now it is saturday so we got to have a little fun john deere's pulling i don't think we have a breakdown i guess our chopper needs some work done maybe we won't get done shopping today ready for a perfect circle tiffany will be out later today and i think we're gonna get her a deer license we're gonna shoot some deer this fall well by golly he just took off down the road looks like we're going to do some shopping and there it is hopefully our worst corn field because it you know had alfalfa in it pulled a lot of moisture chiseled it so it was dry [Music] and of course we're gonna get some drone videos so don't even don't even worry we're gonna get some drone video it's gonna be sweet come on come on there's monsters there's a lot of tires to check not bad all right dad it's your time to shine sit in the bunker for the next hours yep you excited yep the best way to send your spend your saturday is farming right now i love it and get that cow feed home so we feel better about being able to feed them all winter it's all about the cows cole that's right until we get rid of them ain't gonna happen while i'm around i'm returned remember that time we were chasing a pair and i was you're on the driving on the four-wheeler and i was riding up here and i about fell off i was like two years ago it was a hoot that stuff looks somewhat green cold must be uh desperate for truck drivers today huh yeah sucks for you what do you say about that hang on cole we're going up i don't want to have a fourth surgery oh there's a lot of corn in it dry enough it smells like silage if you squeeze it and it stays in a ball it's a little too wet it didn't do that that's high quality h2o with some feet in it right did it that's a microwave to it i gotta get way back in there it's gonna take him a while probably a good hour maybe even an hour and a half before there's something there worth me packing the intern just showed up we're gonna go shoot some guns quick itinerary shoot guns drone video of chopping come back pack the pit maybe some drone video of packing and them dumping and they got they got two trucks running it's about a two and a half mile jaunt each load 2 30 finally getting going wow that's gonna be my first kids car right there it's a fixer-upper yeah grab the raid we're going to need it for the wasps we're shooting at 243 today was it a bullseye no come on cowgirl all right which one did you do the one closest to the center yeah that's you right there yeah for sure it could be i don't know you want to have a contest now okay we each get two shots okay and then whoever gets the most points five four three two one uh doesn't have to buy the ice cream tonight all right let's do it all right 150 yards two shots each please oh my lord we're gonna put a timeline on this thing to see you holy cow look at the old intern she got a three and a four that's gonna be tough intern [Music] a three was an okay shot but then like the other one is either way down there or i didn't hit the board i think i just got bested by the pretty cool yeah by the looks of it i'm shooting like jake blew out the today should i be worried probably oh how's your internship been going good um i beat coal when it comes to shooting guns okay that's awesome there's a pro with that i'm curious to know like when you applied for the role of nicole's girlfriend on this channel was there many other interviewers or i don't think so probably the only one or i think so is this your first acting job ever or are you uh have you been in some other movies before oh this is my first acting job no yeah yeah um try and think now i was in a commercial once but i was wearing a robot costume for the bank needs to work out now i remember what i was going to ask you your very first i think would you rather oh i am ready for it okay so would you rather help pull a calf or melt the towel okay do you want to expand on that in here i will touch the teeth this time well you've been practicing right yes and just so you know she's pretty excited to help out with us i've been practicing on the fake teeth some might say i guess the biggest question we want to know as a group is we want to know what your intentions are my intentions are my goal up to him i'm sorry having fun being a farm girl today too pretty big load so the reason why we put a big old fat tracker driving on top of there is to pack it down and that pushes the oxygen out of there so it allows this stuff to ferment so it keeps for a long time if you don't do it then more fungus and bacteria grow in there the bad stuff that you don't want it just kind of makes the quality bad and you can also get the cattle sick if it's the wrong type of stuff grown in there so we just pack it real good right tiff [Music] [Music] so [Music] now [Music] so [Music] [Music] so it looks like the other truck just got here and they did fill that one pretty decent but it looks like this is the last load of the day which looking at that pile it's certainly not very much but we do have 17 or 18 acres of sorghum in the back there it's just too wet and you know if we do actually get a rain that'd be awesome and that stuff will grow up a little bit more and we can get more tonnage but this is the last one today let that stuff mature pack it real nice and we'll be done yes tiffany if she wants to push this pile up with the motor like run it yeah good lord so they broke down right at the end there yeah they got six rows left six rows left and they broke down yeah it's like so you know when we get a job done like that for the year though which we're close to done on it you know what i want to say she saw it in a movie one time okay like say huh yeah pi did
