ARK: Survival Ascended | Lake House | Build Tutorial

how's it going everyone I hope you're all doing well on this lovely Sunday and in this video I'm going to show you how to build this gorgeous little lake house in Ark survival ascended now I just want let's get into the build shall we right so this is where we're going to build it it's a really nice location lots of great resources around and this is my longitude and latitude so right there right by top right of the uh Redwood biome right so let's start with some wooden pillars I put one down earlier so here's one I made earlier and what we're going to be doing is building five vertical pillars and four horizontal so we go a long for and that will give us five verticals in total now it should snap nicely but you want this uh the horizontals as close to the bottom of the uh Lake as possible that way they're not going to protrude out of the water much so that will give us five right there I love the way the water just you know goes through the wood looks this game is so beautiful right anyways we're going to be going fre along now as well so get the horizontal again there we go so we got three pillars there and then we'll just go all the way around and complete the square we're not going to be doing anything in the middle so not going to be adding any pillars there and then oh I think it's starting to rain I can hear the rain or is that just splashing oh come on just snap and there we go this is what it should look like lovely jubly man the graphics this game is so beautiful honestly and the building's improved a lot there's a few changes that I'm a bit about but yeah anyways now we're going to go up one more with the pillars so just add another pillar to each of them like so that's what we're left with very nice right now grab your wooden ceilings and make sure they're all going the same way it bothers me when they're not I don't know about you guys I'm very uh fussy with stuff like that so add these whoa near jumped off [Music] them there we go looking good so far looking good okay so next we're going to be doing walls windows and the door but we're going to be flipping the walls so that the outside is actually inside it just gives it a bit of a better look so if we start here I'll stop sarking you so make sure you flip the wall and then we'll add a window here and here and then we'll go for another wall another wall another wall and we'll add two windows [Music] here and then another wall and then we'll bring it back in so we're going to have a window here and then this will be a double doorway and then we're going to have go back to the normal wall flip it again have a window here and then finish off with a normal wall just like so so it looks like that see the the the inside of the wall when you flip it looks a lot better on the outside cuz you get all these little details I just think it makes it look a lot better but that's what we're looking at so far nice okay now it's time to do the roof so we'll start things off by placing two wooden ceilings right here and this is where our bed and other things are going to be but I'll show you that when it comes to the interior design next you want to grab your wooden roof and it's the first variant with the tiles we're just going to go all around the base like so if it wants to snap properly I do love the building in this game but I've always had an issue with the snapping sometimes it can be absolutely fine other times it can be a bit of a nightmare and a bit bit tricky there we go now we're going to have some uh empty spaces here and that's where we're going to put our Corner walls our Corner roofs even like so so this is what we'll be looking at okay so now grab your wood roof corner and it's the second variant so you select that by pressing R and then you just got to get this bad boy to snap it's not too bad sometimes come on there we go same again here come on there we go and look at that nice that's the shape so far right so now grab your wood roof corner and then we need to snap it like this at this angle so it's protruding out there we go and we'll do the same again this side like so now what you want to do is flip it and try and snap it like that so the out inside is poking out like so that just gives it a bit of a nice design and a nice shape but this side however we'll be grabbing our sloped roof make sure you flip it again like so and then plun one right in the middle there we go that's looking nice isn't it loving this so far nice little tidy base looks really smart as well okay now that that's done we're going to be adding in some more wooden pillars just to support this protruding part here so we'll just clip that like that right in the corners and then it looks like it's being supported then oh stop making so much noise man trying to do a video here go away you better run okay now it's time to build the walkway around the base so grab your wood quarter ceiling press R and change it to your wood triangle ceiling and just build out the front like so now these don't go around the corners properly because we've already put put some wood ceilings down but what we need to do is build it like that so it comes edge to edge with this one grab a wood ceiling change it to a hatch frame cuz this is how we're going to get in and out of this base plun that down go back to wood ceiling build up to the corner of the base then you switch back to your wood triangle ceiling and there we go lovely jubly nice and easy and we're going to do the same again here on this corner so build round so it's edge to edge then come on there we go put your wood ceilings down and then here oh grab your wood triangle again and then build that round and done lovely looking good now isn't it now we need to finish it off so we're going to get some wood railings and then all you do is go around the outside like so and then this will give you a nice little uh walkway around the base basically and ample room for crops and storage and whatever else you want to put in these here now there's a cool thing that we can do with these wood railings I'm going to show you in a minute so basically a lot of it's preference it's uh don't need to do it but I absolutely love it there we go looking good so that's how we're looking so far it's looking all right isn't it it's looking nice and tidy I'm going to show you a few things with the wooden railings but before I do that let's complete the roof with some wood beams so we'll just put these all along and this will finish the aesthetic of the roof come on snap on there we go like so nice right so the wood railings what we can do is underneath these that are already here just to give it a bit more character you can put another layer now it's up to you if you want to flip it or not I prefer it like that so it's got like a a point underneath so just go around the base like so putting them underneath these ones and then we're going to be putting some on the wooden pillars and then that will complete the entire Foundation of this base and I just think this this just really sets it off it gives it a bit more character another thing you can do as well I only do this on some basis is you flip it like so like that and then again it just gives your railings a bit more character but we're not doing it for this one save that for another video oh and I've got loads more videos coming trust me I've got a treehouse Village coming I've built a tree housee I've built a cliff house you're going to see that as well at the end of the video I'm going to show you a little teaser of what I've uh couple of things I've done so far but if you're liking Ark and you like my content make sure that you staying subscribed and stay tuned cuz there's loads more coming right so that's the wood railings done so come under how did this wall get here anyways right so grab your railings go just underneath here and snap all the way up until it's like that straight in so it looks like it's supporting it and you can do this all the way around so we'll quickly Blitz through this I'll show you one more time though so just snap it till it's the most like that so it's the most angled there's a couple of different angles so you got to wait for it to be like that and it shouldn't poke through the floor yeah let it's not poking through the floor right so let's Blitz through this super quick and that is looking good obviously we didn't put one here I put one down by mistake but this is where our rope's going to be so we may as well just put that in now our rope stairs or rope ladder to get in and out of the base so obviously that will poke through otherwise if we put one there but yeah no it's looking good so far what do you think obviously you can add some more railings if you want you can add a couple more on top like so so it looks like it's you know getting getting supported even more or you can put some in between like that it's completely your cool but we'll leave it like that I'll get rid of this one cuz I don't want to don't want to make it look like it's Overkill but that is the base so far I think it's looking really really good what do you think okay so now it's time to finish the outside so we'll start things off by placing some storage boxes just outside of this window here and then around the corner here why is it come on there we go place a couple here we don't need too many and then we're going to grab some medium crop plots we'll plun them like so just outside this window and then we'll grab our cage in case you know you want to catch some uh some enemy players they trying to raid your base put them in a prison there and then we'll grab a small crop plot and we're going to put them all along here there we go now the water irrigation is a lot different in this game so when you grab the intake pipe this is the aura this is what will fuel your uh or power your will give water to your base not power or fuel um this is what will give water to your base in this radius this blue radius and it's done wirelessly so no more pipes like you know dangling all over the place or trailing from a river all the way Inland towards your base quite a good design I like it it saves making like messy bases but I did used to like the irrigation pipes and you know you had to do some funky designs to get it to do what you wanted it to do anyways let's go for the uh grab whatever intake pipe you've got so Stone metal I've just got metal cuz I'm in Creative it doesn't really matter so plunk it right underneath your base and that will give water to your entire base like so and then all you do is grab your Taps now one here will literally irrigate the whole of the crops along here all of them it will irrigate all of them but for Aesthetics I'm going to put one there and then one right there just so it looks like it's giv water to all of them even though one will do I still want it to look quite good and then we're going to plunk a tap right there lovely jumbling and that's the outside complete now all we got to do is fertilize the crops and plant some seeds so I'll be back after I've done that now that that's done all we need to do is Place some standing torches obviously you don't need these I just think they set a base off nicely obviously if you're on a PVP server this might give away your location but put them in each of the corners like so and that is the outside done completely done now it's time to work on the inside so on the inside like I said this is where we're going to place our bed so get your stairs and then change it to this variant and just rotate it like so and there we go nice and in the corner place our bed down place a couple of storage boxes as well like so there we go and there we go some storage boxes and a bed nice and tucked out the way now the interior is completely up to you what you want to do I'm just going to put a load of stuff down so we'll get a refining Forge down get a cooking pot we won't block the windows here though cuz we might need to see that to shoot out if someone's trying to get to us Place some storage again place a Smithy um place a Smithy right there put some more storage boxes again place a table here we put our mortar on top of that get a preserving bin down just try not to block the windows too much put more storage there bit more storage here maybe another one there and that is it obviously you can put some more stuff down if you want to this is just a very basic interior now for the Torches we're going to put a couple more on the outside but I'll place two like so Place another one right by the stairs if it wants to clip there we go and then we'll Place another one just there and there so we got some nice light on the inside and then on the outside we'll Place another two like so just so it's right by the door now what we need to do is some windows and a door so we place our door like so let's go in place our Windows let's open them though let's get some nice light inside very dark qu without and there we go and that is the base done so you got a nice oh it's starting to rain go away so you got away in and out you got a lot of stuff to get you started it's a good little starter base obviously you can flip these doors I like the uh the inside cuz again it just gives a bit more detail whereas the uh the outside's just you know those brown planks so I prefer it like that so you're cool if you want to flip it or not but yeah it's a good little starter base it will uh set you right you know it's got enough room for stuff on the inside obviously this is just a very basic interior you can add a lot more if you want you know you can hide some more storage boxes down there Place more tables if you want like so but there's a lot to be had it obviously a compost bin as well you can place one of them on the uh on the walkway outside if you need to but there's enough room to do what you need to do with this base so you've got like a lot of freedom to uh to explore your options with Base building now all that's left to do is give you a uh a nice little cinematic [Music] tour [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music]
