ARK: Survival Ascended | Armored Ice Bunker Base | Build Tutorial

hello hello and welcome back to another Arc video and in this one I'll be showing you how to build this fortified bunker base in the Frozen wastelands of the snow biome now just to clear something up there seems to be an issue where some of my previous builds are not clipping anymore on official servers and unofficial servers where the setting enable Collision is turned off however I've never had that setting on because when I started to make these videos I had one goal in mind and that was to build bases that could be replicated on both official and unofficial servers without that setting now it was working up until last patch and for some reason it's not working now however having said that I've now found another way to do it and I'm going to show you how to do it in this video but I just want to State now it works at the time of recording this video and if it stops working in the future after this video I can't help that it's out of my control you know it worked in my previous videos it's no longer working it I just I can't help that obviously I'm sorry that it don't work anymore but I don't control that it's wild card with their patches anyways be sure to subscribe like and the lighting is janky as anything in this game I don't know if it's like it for you and that's why I put a photo sensitivity warning at the start of the video but yeah she's a big base perfect for your tribe in the snow biome here are the materials you'll need to build this monster so shall we get building welcome back welcome back so like I just said some of the clipping that we were able to do is somehow now fixed I don't know if this is because of the recent update on Arc however it's not all fixed so there are still some ways to clip things together and clip things through things whilst clipping is disabled okay so I do play with clipping disable cuz I want my builds to be able to be replicated by official and non-official players Okay so private server or if it's on the official PVP servers and I'm going to show you how to do some of that right now well not exactly right now in a minute so just bear with me so we are here in the uh snow biome really good area full of resources very resource Rich very dangerous too so the longitude and latitude is 26.4 and 7.6 so it's on a nice little Island right there tucked away in the uh snow biome and the good thing is cuz there's like loads of Megalodons you can use these uh floating icebergs to get across if need be we use a flying tame so yeah very dangerous area so we're going to start by building a hexagon using six metal triangle foundations just like so and then we're going to go along by 15 more metal triangle Foundation straight down there okay so that's 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 perfect and then once you're here here you want to build a hexagon again just like so there we go lovely jubly and that's what it should look like now you want to come across by seven metal foundations okay just the normal square one so that's four five 6 7 perfect once you're here you're going to build the hexagon again with the metal triangle foundations now be careful cuz it will try and jump down and snap down there okay it that that that will happen it's a bit annoying but yeah it does happen and then we're going to do the same what we did there on this side so 15 more metal triangle foundations now th this place here that I'm building can be finicky because things do want to jump straight down and you got very uneven surfaces but this is like one of the flattest parts that I found it's probably not the flattest so just build where you want to build and if you know somewhere that's a bit flatter go for it okay so we'll come over here we're going to add seven more oh that Sun's right in my eyes good go away so 3 4 5 6 7 perfect and then what we will do is build our hexagon again like so and this is the shape and what it should look like lovely jubly that's looking good it's looking good so far but we are not done right so just to get this out of the way very quickly okay let's just say we place two walls here so cliping is disabled so there's two walls there now let's place a ramp here now it's not going to snap there is it just as much as if we was to do this for example place a floor down and place our triangles okay metal triangle ceilings look it's obstructed okay it it won't go through all right so that's just confirming that clipping is disabled I've always had it disabled so if it's worked in the past for certain build builds I cannot explain why I don't have an answer maybe an issue on world card's um you know side but yeah it was working well it is still working cuz I'm going to show you there's a way to still do it it just it requires a bit of um doing things in a particular order which makes Base building slightly more annoying now because you have to do things first that you would normally wait till last so as I was saying look this this ramp's not going to snap there so I'm hitting Q it won't snap anywhere else okay it will snap on that angle it'll snap in all the places it can but it won't snap there right so let's take away this wall and then it will snap there right just like so lovely jubly get rid of that grab your wall bang it will snap straight in same with a pillar you can still snap stuff straight in you can still clip stuff in with clipping disabled you just got to do it last so originally I would have put all the walls down police car outside anyways so originally I would have put all the uh walls down first and then snapped the ramps would you go away police car so originally I would have put all the walls down first and then snapped the ramps but that's not the case now so we need to do ramps and stuff first but like you've just seen here look it all still works and you've just seen me build that in so if I go back to the triangles and let's put in our flooring and go for another triangle it's red or obstructed okay so it won't snap so some things have been fixed as you can see not all of it anyways let's get rid of these walls cuz we don't need them at the moment okay so what we're going to do grab your ramps now you can flip them if you want so you can have a different shape I mean I would actually suggest you flip every other one just to give it a bit of variation so let's just snap that back to where it were cool so every other one I'm going to do this variant all right so we'll do that do it here as well we are going to go back and complete this but we're just going around and placing ramps all along the outside okay just like so and we do the same here and then we're going to fill the gaps with the other variant so snap these in this will just give the base a bit more character and shape really so breaking things up nicely so as you've probably noticed as well look obviously cuz we're angling the ramps in it's going to be slightly offset okay so on the inside this isn't a massive issue it just means you don't get to use the full of the inside there's certain things that we're going to block off and stuff but but all will'll be explained later on okay so next what we're going to do grab your walls now I would recommend using some windows here just like so we'll go along Place some windows in and then we're going to place Some solid walls in as well all right so I'll place a window here because we're going to have the door here as well and a window there so we grab the door place that at the front is that a cold front coming in it is isn't it right quick way to sort this out in single player mode by the way just another fix go to photo mode go all the way down set to clear skies back out of photo mode voila no more cold front cool right back to the build so let's grab our solid walls now and place them in like so come on Snap all the way along now you can have more windows here if you want you can even have more doors you can add uh you know other things give it a bit more character and we're going to be adding certain things things like that later on in the builds but just for now we're going to stick to Windows and walls and then obviously our doorway there to get in and out of the base lovely jly that's looking good so far so what we're going to do now is add more ramps but we're not doing it to this side with the front door or the other side opposite it we're going to be doing it at these two sides here so grab your ramp and snap them out like so oh messed that one up like I said uh be sure to flip them if you want a bit more uh variety you're cool I actually like the underneath of these ramps so I'm just going to keep it as is so just add these all the way along and then do the same this side but not that side or that side and done cool perfect that's what it will look like right so now we're going to add another layer to these two walls here okay so we're going to go up by another layer now be sure to add in Windows and other doorways and you know bits that you want add in a couple of Windows here then we'll put in some solid walls now I have flipped these inside out cuz I think there much better patterns on the inside do the same here I think I'll just do the opposite this side so adding Windows there and then just go for full solids here like so perfect there we go that's where we're at so far get in there just get in there okay now it's time to build up so I'm going to show you how to build this hexagon up and out and once you know how to do this one you'll know how to do the other three okay so here we go we're going to build walls three levels high so we meet at the top there okay so make sure the inside's out just like so now one thing to note because we're going to be clipping if there's any Windows along here like that one that's going to have to change to a solid War okay cuz these will clip through so if we've made a mistake with the windows we'll just have to change them a little bit later on okay but it's not the end of the world it just means replacing them uh in a different location so like I said before clipping is disabled but it does still work okay so we're going to come in like so just like so and that will meet that one this will meet that one and then we'll just finish up like so there we go lovely jly so instead of of having cuz we did have a window there we changed it to a solid this one's obviously got to go so we just take this one out replace it with a solid for now and then we can just put more windows here so you can go like window solid window okay that's how you do it now you can have Windows up here if you want if you want to make use of this space I'm not going to I may do it later just to show you exactly what I mean though okay so now you know how to build up all the hexagons okay so now we're going to start on the floor so what you want to do is imitate what you you did down below with the triangle foundations but with uh triangle ceilings okay so just come along now you can start doing this yeah just like so but if we had had walls along here or anything else it would have been obstructed straight away so you need to just make sure you're doing things in the order that I'm doing them otherwise it will not work and it just gets a bit finicky and annoying and then you'll find you'll have to start deleting so much stuff just to get things the way you want them when they you know you should just be able to do this by default to be fair and uh one thing that begs the question here is why there isn't things like half walls and you know like quarter triangles and stuff to fill the gaps that are there and you know be able to do things like this you know you shouldn't have to rely on um the option to clip stuff you know there should just be more stuff there by default anyways enough rambling so along here we're just going to place our flooring like so so our normal well it's a ceiling but uh place that along like so okay and then we'll go back to our triangles and then all we're going to do here is meet them all up just like we did at the bottom and that will give us our very nice looking shape oh just place the wrong one down just down below now another thing as well you can build the floor in here and there's like actually quite a bit of space there so you can have like a hatch a hatch frame and uh throw in some storage down there if you want you'll have to crawl around but you know could be worth it if you want to do that cool right now we just got to join the last one up fantastic here we go now see look right here we go clipping obstructed okay so we're going to have to remove these two right place our flooring down and then it will let you clip again so like I said definitely still works unsure why it's now in this order um some things might not work I haven't tested absolutely everything yet I need to go back and test uh like my Treehouse and stuff I'm I'm very sure that's going to be broken but yeah is what it is so just like we did there okay now we can build up our uh hexans along this side so if I just do one just to show you again exactly what I mean now if you you just noticed there I had to delete walls this is what I mean you got to do things in a certain order otherwise you end up having to delete like half of your build just to get the results that you want it's finicky it's annoying but it is what it is so these will all cliping lovely jubly come on in you get and then we will meet them all up and and there we go everything clipped in nicely and looking good so far I'm really liking the shape so all you guys need to do now is just build these two hexagons now I've shown you how to do it so you guys crack on and let's skip this part okay so with the floors obviously these two walls here are offset so it's not going to line up nicely is it look it's not going to sit there nicely but it will there however there is a way to fix this okay so what we do build the floor from the uh front door get these to to snap in just like so and now with these awkward offset Parts all you're going to want to do is go along the wall like so with normal ceilings make sure you reach the other end lovely jly where's that wall gone okay just plk a door there might not have a door there yet anyways right to the point so you get a metal ceiling like so and then you build it along this wall and you can do this both sides now you're probably thinking but Curtis there was just a massive awkward Gap there what are you doing mate that my friends is an easy fix so this awkward Gap here what you do is grab a wall and it will clip in nicely like so now when you want to cover these parts up okay you need to be careful because as we build this up it will try and snap I just show you it will snap to that part there which we obviously don't want so get rid of that and then what you want to do is make sure you're snapping it to this part okay so you'll see a little bit of ramp still but it will clip through now the Gap there can be covered with a pillar and to be fair you can even clip other things for it I mean you can even go for like a a slope wall but I'm going to put a pillar there cuz it's easier I don't want stuff poking through okay so that is how you fix that and then obviously up here we're going to discuss in a minute so firstly just finish off the floors on the inside right so you may get to a point here where it's like ah we can't snap there's no Foundation that's a nice easy fix just snap a pillar like so and underneath and then it'll snap and that's hidden now obviously you can have a hatchway if you want and and utilize the space underneath like cuz trust me there is a lot of space I mean if we pick up this wall here right or ceiling look there is a lot of space to be had uh to be had under here so if that's your jam if that's what you want to do like by all means do it it's another layer you know you can have storage down here you can have your Tex stuff whatever you're doing okay so utilize the space if you want just build a hatchway or some or some stairs up to you I'm not going to use it yet but uh when it comes to the uh interior view later on I may have used it you'll have to wait and see but yeah this is what it's going to look like so you've covered all the walls obviously I got to cover this ramp yet but you know this is uh this is what it will look like lovely jubly right so in order to build the upstairs again all you're going to need to do is add some metal ceilings now if there's a clipping issue here saying it's obstructed all you do is you get rid of that wall sometimes you might not get this by the way sometimes you will it's it's a bit finicky at times but you remove it place your ceiling down go back to your wall and there you go it will clip through okay so all you're going to want to do now is go around with metal ceilings and cover this entire space all right right so do that and it should start looking a little something like this it's looking like a right fortifi base now love it but we are not done we've got one more layer to do well actually you can add multiple layers but so for this layer at the top we're going to go one ceiling in okay so from there we're going to build it right here like so so we're just going to go all the way around to make sure we're giv the same amount of space uh each side now completely your call where you want to put doors I'm just going to use solid walls for a minute just so I can Blitz through this and then we're going to put a couple of doors in and we're going to add some stairs so we can actually get up here but we're going to be building a nice little roof for it as well um nothing too fancy but uh we'll make it looking nice and like I said you can actually build this almost like a castle so you can have this as a layer or a level should I say and then you can add another level on top of it now one thing to know if you want to be a bit you know edgy with your base cuz we put triangles at the sides you can do stuff like this so you can have you know Pokey walls and stuff up to you I'm not going to do that but the options there okay so if you want to make your base a little bit more funky with the shape you absolutely can right so awesome so that's that bit now you can go two layers up if you would like to which is probably not what I'm going to do here cuz I think one layer is tall enough but you're a bit claustrophobic and you want to uh add another layer by all means do so okay so for the doors I'm actually going to add a couple in up here so I'm going to add one there I'm going to add one at the side here cuz we want multiple ways in and out that'll be handy I'm not going to add any windows up here not yet anyways we're just going to get the doors in for now and the last door there perfect perfect okay so for the roof I'm going to go for a really simple design okay so grab your metal roof change it to the ramp variant like so cuz I want a flat roof on this I don't want this to be a really big tall roof I want it to be quite uh bunker looking so you know bit bit of a little bit of a little angle but uh not nothing too you know pointy or protruding cuz it will just look silly at that point okay and this is why I didn't want to go up two layers because this is going to be plenty big on the on the inside and it shouldn't make you feel claustrophobic cuz the thing is in this game when you've got one level so you've got like you know in here and you just put flat roofs down straight away I think it's really claustrophobic it looks way too small okay once that's done we're going to get our metal ceiling and we're going to flip it so it's this way around just to give it a really cool shape up top right now one thing we are going to do is Place minig guns up here so we're going to want to put some hatch frames in at the corners but we will do that later okay right now just uh get these down so you got the shape down now you shouldn't get any issues in terms of like oh it needs a foundation it can't snap here if you do we'll just put a metal pillar down but I don't think we should cuz we're uh we've been able to build it l far so all good but you know what this game can be like is there anyone else by the way getting the uh issues with the patch right when you patch this game for me me it get stuck at 2% now the fix is if you don't know this don't reinstall the game it's a visual bug just wait but it is so annoying so annoying I hate that bug and there we go look that's the roof done right so that's looking good so far now obviously a slope roof is not going to cover that if it was a ramp uh if it was a normal roof it would go like a more inclin so it would but not to worry okay so what you do grab a quarter wall here cuz this will fill this Gap and then what you want to do is get a metal beam so your metal pillar change it to a beam plonk that there and then change the quarter wall variant to a railing plonk that there and then it will snap just underneath like so I think that looks pretty smart if I do say so myself it'd be better if we had like a a quarter a quarter wall slope roof but yeah as far as I'm aware they don't exist in this game so little bit annoying however like I said this is not a bad alternative just oh flip that nice now obviously I would join them up so it doesn't look out of place or silly now you can join it up along here as well and obviously you got these bits that can poke out as well which is really cool so your call here if you want to go around and do that I'm going to cuz I think it looks Wicked but uh all personal preference so I'll let you do that now cuz we've just done these railings we may as well do the next part oh which is don't mess up like I just did is placing railings all the way along the outside of the base here as well okay so we are going to add railings I am adding these as well underneath and we will also be adding them along these parts again preference but I do think it looks pretty cool so we'll be doing that as well okay and that just looks Wicked ah it's gone all foggy back in a sec right so we're back and the weather is clear so like I said we're going to go around and start at this side because there's something I want to show you on these sides here okay so if you're happy with these sides do the railings first but we can like I said earlier take this to the next level so grab your ramp we're going to remove this wall because obviously if we grab the ramp like so it's not going to snap there okay cuz the clipping but grab your ramp plunk it there I mean you could do it here as well I suppose actually yeah let's just do it um I didn't originally but to be fair it'll probably look pretty cool so this is going to block those windows by the way but uh you can still shoot a gun out of them and it looks pretty cool so good little good little Vantage spot so place your round ramps down not like that idiot like that and now the walls will clip through and that just looks so much better doesn't it it looks really cool now obviously like I said it is preference but I I do think it looks cool like that and then obviously we can go back to our ramps and then add our ramps in like so you cannot add the ramps first before doing the uh the ramps you cannot add the railing first and then do the ramps you've got to do the ramps first so remove the walls do the ramps then add the railings and it'll all snap in nicely like so okay but uh yeah it's all all in order and that's that's uh that's how you do it so let's just ah what are you doing I am being a muppet today at snapping these things it just doesn't want to do as it's told now we've got to build a way to actually get into the base and then we can start doing the final touches so the gun placement the hatch frames so that we can climb in and out and obviously some stairs on the inside so let's get to that so for the front door here we're going to do a mix of metal ceilings stairs and maybe even ramps if you want to use a ramp and pillars now because we've used the railings here all good so let's just add our ceiling like so then we're going to get some metal stairs aim that down and that will go into a another ceiling like so and and another one and then we'll grab our stairs again lovely now Place some metal ceilings down so it looks like it's actually being supported properly clip these in like so lovely jubly and then come on Snap this one and then this one and now just to enhance it a little bit more add some railings we'll even add some here as well underneath don't think it'll snap there no cuz that one's there add this railing here we'll add railings on the actual stairs themselves that's got a railing there so that is looking absolutely fine and there and lovely jly you got a nice sort of Stairway leading to the base but obviously you can just do a uh metal ceiling and just stairs going straight into it so it's your call again comes down to preference I think that looks pretty cool though I'm liking that that will do lovely jly so if you want multiple doors so you can have a door here you can have a door at the rear so let's just do a different variant on this door yeah so let's just add a metal ceiling let's add some stairs let's add some more stairs just like so okay so that's very very simple design get that to snap that oh I bent it the wrong way you're not going to be getting in the base like that guys all right so let's take that let's add the stairs again let's try that again guys there we go right then we'll add a pillar there as well and then grab your railings and straight into the base lovely jubly just like that now I don't I mean it looks okay I don't like that I prefer the um oh I've got a rogue triangle here get rid of that I prefer this style so you know bit more unique you know you can add to it as well so like you know add some more um railings to it just to give it a bit of uh bit of character like so you can do that this should snap the opposite way so yeah you know there's things you can do to enhance the look and I think that looks pretty cool right now it's gun time so we're going to put some guns down now now I'm grabbing Auto turrets I would put down the most powerful turrets you've got so if you've got access to Rocket turrets even Tech turrets put the ones down that you know you know are the most powerful we're going to place two in each corner here and the range can be set to high so they will shoot for miles and and I mean miles now when they get enemies get closer that these do shoot through these uh railings by the way but some shots will hit the railing but generally speaking if you've seen my warship boat build they'll shoot through the railings no problem okay there'll just be the old bullet here and there that will uh not do so great so rotate him we're going to put two in each Corner okay and I'll show you what they're like when they're firing later on I mean this thing will take out those mammoths all the way over there so any enemies that try and get close like they're getting lit up trust me two here there and then lastly over here now you can have more turrets okay so up to you your call man that and then at the top here going to have two miniguns two Min guns four Min guns I don't know why I said two I meant to say two either side so four Min guns in total two either side so in order to get to these what I would suggest is we start placing some hatch frames like so be sure to flip them that is uh I don't like that design there so flip them right next to the turrets so you and your tribe can climb straight up have some ladders coming down you can climb straight up and get to your Battle Stations lovely jubly oh fog coming in so the base is now looking like that now I think it's looking pretty tasty so far I'm liking the look of this that is looking pretty cool now you don't have to have the turrets on top you can actually have more Auto turrets it's it's your choice it's your preference what Weaponry you want to use and then if you want to go alongside and add more windows um you know be be sure to do so obviously put some windows in as well so cover them up but uh I'll leave that down to you now I guess the only thing left to do is build the stairs leading up to uh to the next floor so if we come in what we'll do where will we do it I tell you what we're going to do it right here so grab some stairs plunk him down like so we will grab a metal ceiling and then we'll grab stairs again and then what we'll do is we'll add a pillar and some railings to this and just give it a bit of an aesthetic look we'll take that wall down obviously as wellwise we won't be able to won't be able to get in there so that's that now maybe add some beams yeah that's looking pretty good I like the look of that so far and then we need to add some railings so get our quarter walls see if we can angle it down nice yeah I like that we'll do it the same each side keep it all uh symmetrical lovely jubly put that there there there and there and then obviously add our railings to the actual stairs just like so take this away and there we go lovely jly oh it's right under the hatch frame as well perfect I thought I knew I got it wrong there's no thinking about it I knew I'd got that wrong typical so right place our hatch frame there oh it's the wrong variant again obviously you can keep it there you can just change where the stairs are but I like the stairs being there to be fair add that there now we just need to add some ladders leading up to the hatch frames now it's not going to clip too in unless it's next to a wall they just won't stack on each other however obviously you can still grab the ladder and climb straight up if you don't like a dangling ladder though there is only one other alternative and that is to build more stairs so if you don't like that we will do exactly that so we'll build some stairs there we get rid of this ceiling and we'll get rid of this one okay now we'll need a ramp otherwise it's not going to snap properly just like so so it's almost like a little battle ramp obviously you'll have to leave this uh open slightly what you can do here is use some quarter walls uh quarter ceilings even should I say but you you got to have it slightly open otherwise you'll hit the the the ceiling here and you'll you know fall down basically so you can do that if you don't want dangling ladders so we'll get rid of the hatch frames if that's not what you want I personally like the hatch frames I think they're pretty cool uh it's good to be able to just rush straight to whichever gun you want to get onto but again this is another alternative you okay so that's that now railings yes you're going to add some more railings of course we are just like so and then we'll add railings around the out side here like so now obviously there's going to be a little bit of a gap here because it won't snap in properly with that one there now there are a few things you can do so grab this one snap that like so it's being funny now there you go all right so you can block it off nicely and you got a way in and a way up and a way down and then obviously on all these gaps here we're going to add railings so don't forget to do that and that is pretty much oh why didn't it get rid of this ladder as I was saying that is that that's pretty much it that is how we're going to get up and down like I said add stairs um underneath if you want to use underneath here for more storage cuz there is a lot of space to be had now we just need to do the interior do some ligh in and uh do some do some magic so I'm going to do the interior very quick and then I'm going to show you exactly what I've done and I haven't covered that wall there all there what an idiot I forgot about this didn't I once I've done the ramps so yeah I'm going to do the interior and I'll show you exactly what I've done but I hope you enjoyed this video guys and I hope you enjoyed the
