This raises so many questions for me. How could the judge not see? Why is she making excuses? Why is this being treated so lightly? Did the deputies have a reason? The changeover was discreet and smooth, obviously that has implications. Does this not open potential claims in every trial those deputies have been involved in?

The constitution is toilet paper. "Bros before hos" has more weight in modern society than the constitution.

To really rage, follow up on what did happen.

If memory serves me, this is in Maricopa County home of Sheriff Joe Arpaio who has been under investigation from the DOJ for racial profiling, hiding evidence and all sorts of things. He was famous for making inmates wear pink underwear, using tent cities as jails, and other "hard on crime" policies.

So, if a judge rules someone in contempt, who jails them? The sheriff. What are the conditions of confinement? Whatever the sheriff decided.

So, the sheriff basically setup a comfortable apartment for the deputy to serve his contempt sentence- so no real punishment at all.

How is the DOJ not now investigating this? I would say this guy now has grounds with the ACLU to file a suit in federal court against these officers.

I swear cops behave like a mafia. They do not obey the rules they're supposed to enforce. And most of them can get away with so much; heck even murder. Police shouldn't regulate themselves. Whenever there is a complaint against a cop l think a jury of citizens should decide the punishment. Stop the paid vacations for this pigs!
