let's make aquaman's trident we're just going to fill it with water and turn it into a high-pressure trident super soaker ah the dog days of summer i know you guys probably think we live in igloos year round here in canada but it's 35 degrees right now that's 95 degrees to you americans it gets pretty hot here and you know all this heat's got me thinking what what's the best way to cool down now obviously water is the first thing that comes to mind you go swimming you have a water balloon fight but you know someone who probably never gets heat stroke aquaman i tried commanding the c's but that didn't work so let's do the next best thing let's make aquaman's trident plus you guys have been asking for it [Music] season four nexus war just released in fortnite now is the perfect time to [Applause] it's done you might be wondering how is this going to work are we just making a silly little trident that we can smash things and stab things with no we're actually going to fill it with water and turn it into a high pressure trident super soaker and how are we going to do that the power of co2 we've actually got this little adapter here which allows us to plug in a co2 cartridge into here and i'll just demonstrate that real quick chili so that was about 800 psi coming out of this little little container but once we fill this with water that means it's actually going to pressurize this entire thing and shoot a huge stream of water out the end so let's assemble it [Music] now simply put the co2 in the end all right let's go test it out not too shabby by the power of atlantis all right now we gotta we gotta refill it again [Music] oh man it's a lot of water i think we should make a bigger one all right so how are we gonna make a bigger trident well i guess we could just use larger pipe fittings let's take a look and see how it works all right so we've got all the fittings here let's uh let's put them together all right that looks pretty good but how heavy is this gonna be 27.8 pounds or roughly 11 kilograms that's pretty heavy so what if we made it out of gold how much would that cost all right so 90.53 cubic inches is 1483.52 cubic centimeters and the density of gold is 19.3 grams per centimeter so 19.3 grams per centimeter cubed times the average price of 24 karat gold it's 77 and 18 cents per gram it would cost 209. sorry no no it would cost 2.2 million dollars to build this thing out of gold i think that's a little out of our budget but i could try calling someone hey jimmy yeah i'm working on this this aquaman project and i was wondering if you'd next best thing brass still cost over a thousand dollars just for a few pipe fittings here and there but let's get started so normally when you're working with pipe fittings you would be using teflon tape to really make sure that seal is completely watertight but since this is just a trident and it's not actually going to have water in it at all times i don't think it's that important and honestly it looks kind of ugly [Music] all right there's the fork of our trident now we just need [Music] the staff that is heavy and it's not even full of water yet so our big trident is actually going to work a little differently than the small one these things aren't actually designed to be emptied all at once the co2 gas actually sublimates and becomes dry ice inside this which means you only get a little little useful gas out of it before it all becomes dry ice so what we're going to do is we're actually going to make a pressure chamber give it time to release into a larger piece of pipe and then when we want to shoot it we open up this ball valve here to release all the pressure at once which will allow us to have a much more powerful blast of water now we need to make the pressure chamber for the co2 to empty into and to do that we're going to actually use our lathe [Music] so we've got our pressure chamber made out of aluminum and now we are going to be using teflon tape to make sure this is sealed because this area is going to hold all the pressure from the co2 cartridge in there threader in so let's see if my teflon tape holds up and everything is sealed properly ready set that was anticlimactic tighten this guy a wee bit more [Music] success so there's one more thing we need to do if we just released all this co2 gas into a pipe filled with water it would spray out but not very well and it'll probably bubble like crazy and all kinds of stuff like that so what we need to actually do is put a piston inside of here basically a black piece of delrin plastic with two o-rings to seal against the pipe that way the gas expands behind the piston pushing the piston forwards shooting all that water straight out of the pipe so we need to make that oh perfect there it is
