Apply Zinsser Gardz Primer/Sealer to New Drywall - Drywall repair and protection (Par 2)

okay so it's all cut in here now so I'm gonna put this downhill over here and I'm gonna take my roller set up here now we're gonna start to roll this here as you can see it goes on just like a clear color and you kind of want to work this in into the drywall here so again this is a is a law is a water-based glow and this is what you do throw if if I you want to put up wall wall paper you have put this stuff down first and it seals the wall so that if you ever want it to take the wallpaper down when you go to put the water up against the law the water won't be able to to get through this layer here and into the face of the drywall and tear it this will come down here so that wall is done there and now I'm gonna move over here to I do this work here and when this stuff dries it dries it dries to a hardshell - so it uh you know makes the wall a lot stronger down here this roller isn't going to be able to uh get to uh get in there so I'm gonna put this one down here and and I'm gonna grab my 6-inch roll roller here no this is a half inch nap here so I'm just gonna roll this in here and now I'm gonna come over here and I'm gonna kind of flatten it out and I'm gonna go as far down as I can here like this I'll come over here and go as far in there so I'm really trying to get as far back as I possible okay so via wall has been sealed now and we're just gonna give this some some time to dry out and once again this is like the best thing to do if you have a utility sink that is near a wall and you want to seal it so that if any water does get up on the wall it's not gonna ruin me out drywall so we'll be back to to a paint okay so we've given the guards si si si sealer some time to dry out here and as you can see it has turned up it's right out and it's dry to a hard blue finish so this is what I primed here and this over here is this is it right here you can see as I Drive my thumbnail across it it makes that noise here and then this is the unprimed stop here and it's not it's not as hard and I can take my fingernail and gouge this because this is just paper and this has that hard blue on it now so what we did here is we created a vapor barrier so that any water from the sink now that gets on to the wall is not going to be able to to penetrate through this guards here so we never have to worry about the drywall yet again ruin from from the sink hair so what we're gonna do next is we're going to top coat this with two coats of a a pearl or a eggshell finish Sheen and that and again that Sheen is going to add more protection to up to on this - but you dig but you definitely don't want to use a flat finish because although the water won't be able to get through this the water will will be able to get in the flat paint you know it'll run you know it'll leave like watermarks so you definitely want to use at least like an eggshell sheen on the top coating here so we'll we'll put two coats of paint on this and we'll be back just to see how it looks in the end okay so we finished painting painting the wall here and I did two coats of a primer that had or I did two coats of a paint that has a primer in it and it has called her guell - and again this is a yes satin Sheen so this is just going to add further pro protection to the wall so I'm gonna put this light down here and we can take this off here okay so so once again if you have a utility sink that is right near the wall and especially if it's new gyri well you definitely want to use that guard stuff to 1212 protect the wall so thank you very much for watching this video
