Apple Motion Tutorial 2020 (Beginners)

what's happening people of youtube it's real pal david and today i am going to teach you how to use apple motion and make yourself fly through the air just like all those heroes do in those other films all right well this is kind of a beginner's tutorial so the way i'm doing this is a little bit different than you know the way big hollywood blockbusters do it but uh all right you guys ready to see it let me hear you cheer all right all right let's go do it right now and i'm going to share the screen from my mac with you so that we can see how to make yourself soar through the air all right so the first thing we're going to want to do here would be to open apple motion apple motion takes a couple bounces to open but that's all right it's a great program we're going to make sure that our clip is set to long enough for it sets long enough to import our clip so we have something to work with here and then we're going to import so just open up or hit that import window and then go to whatever hard drive flash drive whatever even on your desktop where your clips are at and go ahead and import those i selected the two that i want to work with i imported them and as you can see it imported one over top the other so we're going to shrink down the photograph that you have that way it kind of you know matches up with the background a little bit we'll go ahead and shrink the background down as well because we want it to be full screen now whatever the bright section of the screen is is all that's going to em get exported in the final edit so you want to make sure that you do shrink that down and then you can just kind of drag your fingers out like you would on your phone or ipad do that on the trackpad and you can just kind of blow this back up that way it's big enough to work with all right so here we have clouds rolling in the background and i'm just kind of hovering there that don't look quite right so let's turn myself around a little bit to make it look like you know i've just taken off i'm in flight or whatever and again we're going to shrink myself down a little bit because it's just a tad bit too big for the clouds it just doesn't even begin to look realistic so all right starting to look a little bit better the clouds still aren't you know exactly moving the right way but we can fix that by just dragging the clouds wherever we want them to go and then we can even make the clouds once if we drag them in a portrait mode we can turn them back at least to make it look like we've converted them back to being in landscape mode by cropping them out a little bit so here we go yeah now the clouds are moving in a little bit better direction here it's starting to look pretty good but yeah something just still doesn't look quite right does it all right the next thing i want to start working on here is making myself blend a little bit into the background a little bit more so i'm going to go down here and i'm just going to work on a little color grading over here and make myself blend a little bit more i'm going to tone that shirt down a little bit it's just a little too red shining a little too much there you go there you go just drag that down kind of eyeball it and you can kind of set it to wherever you want it to be all right next we got to put a little bit of movement on here so we'll go we'll select move and there's your move tool right there now what you want to do here is just kind of drag what you want to move in the position that you want to move in i mean there's really nothing no better way to say that so you just want to drag that kind of across the screen to make sure it's going to be moving in the right direction and there you go as you see here we are moving it's really starting to come together start to look better and better all right well we definitely want to add something overlay so i'm going to add some clouds to the top of this i'm going to go down here and i'm going to click on clouds and oh they're black and white that's no problem we can change that to whatever color we want them to be change those to blue and then we're going to go kind of do the same thing that we did before we're going to try to make these blend the best we can we can kind of turn up and turn down whatever effects you want on this but yet we have to also make it transparent so we're definitely going to drag that down until you can see the photograph shining through like you can start to see it coming through right there again that's just you know you blend it to your own specifications whatever you want to see however you like to see it and boy there we go that looks really really good moving right along there we got some clouds in the foreground clouds in the background he's following the trail that we set up for him and the first layer of clouds it's rolling too so let's export this we're just going to save it right over here onto the desktop and we're going to put it into final cut pro because it's moving a little bit too slow and we can speed it up some in final cut pro so we got it imported here final cut pro hit play and there it is still just dragging along like a snail you know all the action films i watched the hero flies a whole lot faster than this so this just isn't good so we're going to highlight that clip scroll or go up here to the clock and then scroll down to speed and let's make it max speed see what happens here boom oh my goodness like a bullet that's a little too fast maybe let's see that again yeah that's a little too fast let's slow that down because that makes the clip a little too short so here we go or slow it down one notch and perfect i love it just like that all right guys don't forget to like and subscribe and we will see you next time right
