I've seen a lot of videos like this before (typically Asian or Korean vs American makeup) and they always do a "full glam" look for the American side and then the other half of the face is like a cute everyday look. The comments are always full of men commenting on how the American side is way too much, they prefer Asian makeup/women/whatever and then women saying they would never wear that much makeup because they're natural and not insecure. These vids always just strike me as inaccurate at best, and a poorly disguised attempt to put down American or western women at worst. I very rarely see women wearing the amount of makeup she has on her American side during the daytime, and even at night, and when I do, I find it looks harsh and kind of jarring in real life.
Lol. Basically she did an IG style look and a more natural/everyday woman dressed up type of look or even celebrity makeup. π€·πΌββοΈ
It's also what you would see on the red carpet or in movies
The idea behind this video is identical to a better video posted by MrJovitageorge. I feel like hers is more wearable and toned down.
Why is the American side always IG makeup and never is more representative of the kind of makeup that most people would do on an everyday basis? Not that there's anything wrong with dramatic makeup (I personally live for it) but it makes the contrast seem so much more stark than it actually is
i like the american eye make but i definitely prefer the french brows, instagram brows just looks nasty on me
This is the first video of hers I've ever watched but it popped up in my recommendations and I was interested in it. I enjoyed how she did the French side, but I honestly think that the American side was pretty badly done. The highlighter just looked awful. I also found it annoying how she kept referencing "haters."
Do you think that her idea of French makeup was accurate?
I really liked the French side, sometimes I forget how pretty a quicker and more simple look can be.
i opened the video and closed it immediately because lol a typical french look would never feature overdrawn lips like that
uh ok except that only youtubers do the "american" side. how many girls do you see who wear makeup like that on an everyday basis anyways?
