ALL DAY EVENT: Pulling Cars (Day 2) Livestream Event in Nashville!

all right welcome welcome you guys probably just watched me get ready to start the stream today i'm starting the stream we listened to your guys feedback from yesterday and have waited to start until the action so right outside this rv we got a lot of action going on so yeah let's get the day started it's gonna be a wild day we're shooting for 10 cars and are fairly confident we're gonna get 10 cars out for you guys within a five hour stream so let's head on out see right here we got jared currently with channel 2 news and karen amazing coordinator of so much of this and now we're going to head down here by the way guys if you're just joining in my name is dan dan the cameraman i film and produce the whole adventures of purpose show essentially so film and edit operate drones pretty much make all the video side of things happen here they're taking them over there to the opryland there's like a really cool place where tomorrow i believe tomorrow we're having a meet and greet where we're gonna have all the cars we've pulled out over the past four days on display and it's gonna be like a drive-through meet and greet with all the guys from all the teams so let's get into some introductions right here we got first it's new to the team adam brown how's it going he showed up with the other one dives with nugg occasionally adam brown adventures oh yeah go check him out on connected then yank this thing out of there so far we're off to a good start yeah today seems like much more organized than yesterday yeah what'd you say mo better better no better nice all right then we got doug out here with the five fish rov that's right him and i have been kind of playing around with this thing this morning we're searching for a car here so if you look here we got the claw do you want to engage and retract see there you go there's a claw and then this heather brock the rock amazing dude he's on tether duty and goes out there probably 100 feet out right now uh yeah okay water is about 45 degrees i'm gonna adapt of 32.4 right now very cool very cool [Music] yeah piloting this thing i i want to say flying but i don't know flying's the right term piloting this thing's pretty hard because it's you're really just flying in the dark plus visibility is really low you have no reference points which makes it really tricky i'm going to surface it we can kind of get a general just wake up okay all right so he's right behind that buoy [Music] can you you prep another blueberry once again this is the pie fish rs6 or rx six one two one amazing company that has chosen to support us by sending us one of their products and so far we are very impressed with this thing learning curve is doug just picked this thing up this morning and he's feeling fairly confident just taking his previous experience flying drones and this and this isn't uh a standard toy it's about 30 thousand dollars so i think it's pretty yeah okay so thirty two hundred yeah thirty two not thirty oklahoma for a few days and then i think we're going to texas for quite some time we got some really cool things down there including some parts from the challenger rocket that blew up so what about awp working with nasa you go brock not actually what i'm going to do with you pretty much wherever i'm at stay down river of me so i might put you up here and for those of you just tuning in that have a busy day ahead of you i would say probably 30 or so minutes from now we'll have a car up here hopefully want to make sure all you are content with the rate at which this stream progresses because yesterday things definitely got off to a little bit of a bumpy start but by the end of the day we were really getting mastering the process i think this is a tailgate yeah i know there is a pickup truck the other day when we were with the twra using one of their robs i remember they found a pickup truck like right out there [Music] once again for those of you just tuning in we are in nashville tennessee we've been here for the past three days and still have three more days we've now we're going to be we are here looking for bill simmons as we did on our last q4 road trip and currently today we are uh one spot if you tune back into the second episode of searching for bill simmons jared and i discovered a plethora of vehicles at this program there was a barricade at the top the city was great gracious enough to remove the barricade allow us to come down here and pull the vehicles out of the river there's around 20 or so when we started yesterday yesterday we pulled eight or nine vehicles doug uh nine nine in total yep yeah so we pulled nine vehicles and we think we can hopefully pull another 10 today yeah easily today will be a lot more efficient uh the multiple teams of divers have their rigging down pat and yeah they'll come out they're being rigged two of them are already rigged and they have more rigging ready to go in for three more so it's probably probably be at least five cars over the next two and a half hours at least in and out uh depending on how quick those flatbeds roll in and out as well [Music] hey brock brock do you think you could take a camera not just hooked up a car uh we put the locking chains around the wheels so there's not gonna be any slippage so it's locked like lock blocks and they're getting ready to yank this thing out right now cadillac but we have some debate yesterday if you guys were watching the stream then that jeep wasn't actually a jeep but it wasn't heaven but yeah dennis says there's no way that was a jeep i would like to uh have his opinion on what else it could be because jeep has a patent on that front end and they actually sued hummer in 2003 because hummer copied their front end and uh jeep won they won that that suit so kevin seems pretty knowledgeable yeah i pulled over a few in my day you can see if you can see that's the car being sam got looking good too that was a two-seater battery so you wonderful drone okay and if any of you were curious i do get a lot of messages i know this might be boring for some of you and i apologize but i know some of you are interesting camera equipment it's a mavic mini 2 i think it's 400 450 actually on the next one and it's the most bomb proof drone doesn't have obstacle avoidance but it's got an amazing camera super easy to fly nothing like those rc helicopters you flew when you're a kid very intuitive would recommend don't need the fanciest stuff to tell the good story all right how's this going uh maybe in a little bit i don't have the other camera so i'm kind of just focused on this what do we got going for lunch we got pulled pork barbecue nice and some macaroni and cheese brought to us by michigan barbecue yeah sounds amazing thank you unfortunately britain britain left the gator in plain sight so everyone saw it and therefore it wouldn't have been a surprise so that kind of was a blast unfortunately how many cars yesterday yesterday we pulled nine vehicles out we had to end the stream early because we ran into battery pack issues but today we've come prepared we have a few more battery packs this stream should go till two o'clock our time central time and then it's going to go over to sam's channel and then next channel and then kind of a few more channels i think i'm being drowned out by trucks okay thank you for telling me that i will go a little further up so you guys can hear me or if you guys don't want me to talk just put in the chat and i can totally just get as close as i can and film that if you'd rather see that nothing's really happening all they're really doing [Music] this camera [Music] is [Music] uh [Music] 18 year olds out there or high schoolers or middle schoolers get on linkedin it's like this old people platform unique opportunities such as working with awp and it has completely changed my life how many drones have you broke i only broke one trip grown partially on the last trip when we were the day we found ethan pasmozak i crashed a drone that morning it was a silly crash i was a little too confident in my abilities besides that the other day i did have to crash land the drone into a tree but walked away undamaged sam will have an amazing video out soon it was really fun all of us were laughing it was a great great time someone said the picture quality is different after the screen went black please let me know and i will play around with the camera [Music] get the mavic bro we used automatic throw i think but the little mavic minis are so much more convenient and the camera quality is nearly the exact same it isn't 4k but if you are a camera like i am 1080 is done properly with proper lighting looks nearly the exact same especially in dji's let's catch anyone up who's just joining into the stream we are in nashville tennessee today in the next three days we've been here for three days prior and we're pulling the 17 vehicles jared and i found last trip in nashville and bill simmons episode two we're pulling the 17 vehicles out yesterday and today we're hoping to get 10 vehicles out today right here is the first vehicle of the day and by the end of the day we're hoping there are no more vehicles left here it's going to be a little tricky some of them look pretty rusted out but we're trying our absolute best to clean up the environment do what we can we have amazing dots towing helping us out huge operation and we couldn't be more thankful for everyone coming out to help us out and with that if you guys haven't already please make sure to another one coming out we're not quite sure what it is at this moment once these vehicles have been in the river for 20 plus years sort of unrecognizable underwater especially in about a foot of visibility let's see so probably about depends on what line they have there maybe 85 feet beyond that hook right there and [Music] there it is i'll get him in here and have him reset that line for you didn't get didn't get too far over water is about 45 degrees so it is not comfortable to be diving in these waters what's your game plan zeke i like that idea if i get this body and i can short walk hook it these other two over here will be a lot easier we'll be able to run the line right to them so we have sam sam the adventure man coming over he's going to be able to take his line directly to the car the synthetic cable we had here we had no choice but to use from way down yonder and once it gets so close obviously running out of winch line so this allows us to extend the winch line directly to the car at this moment what's up [Music] there's already locking chains underneath of the car rigged up so get that clasp there onto those lock and chains and it'll be be a cakewalk from there so from the looks of the corner of this rig does anyone know what this is yeah i know that's pretty much a redundant question at this moment you can't see anything we'll see once it gets pulled cars on sonar i haven't i've been sitting over there fresh diver i'm okay gear up get the water try to hook the car right so is i got another one okay i don't think played on rollback i'll stack them up i noticed that when you make you pull that one up i know i figured you were thinking of yeah i'm not going to stop as fast as y'all look i'll get them out you guys ready [Music] i'm not too sure if you guys can see over there on the other ferry ramp just to catch you up if you did not know that ramp over there connects as a ferry transport to this ramp 50 years ago this was shut down and they put a bridge about half a mile down there once they built the bridge they shut down this ferry it comes across the river and these these ramps here have been uh abandoned ever since over there we have the tennessee wildlife resource agency along with tennessee nashville metro police both here assisting with whatever we need they have been more than gracious they from day one they have been adamant anything we need we have resources whatever they've been out here non-stop and it's been a huge help especially locating a lot of these vehicles and this isn't the only body of river that we've been in uh we've been in about six different bodies of water here local marking a bunch of cars we had troy from sky front here from california uh brought a very very expensive drone in over a hundred thousand dollars along with a magnetometer they they digitally scan this entire river here for the magnetometer what that does is it picks up any sources of iron under the water or under the ground for that matter and uh there was a geophysicist that flew in with him and was able to take the data from the magnetometer and turn it into basically a picture that we can see exactly where each and every car was in this river and there was over 20 of them so far there's 13 that have come out two today there's going to be a bunch more already hold on i think they're saying they're ready you guys ready two more all right we need somebody come grab the line and this is not easy they're gonna have to come and take this winch cable here these suckers are heavy this is a big cable this is not a small cable they're gonna have to drag that in the full weight of 200 yards in water along that bank out there to those cars that's a pretty good workout [Music] jared's ready jared's got two cars everyone online how tough you got to be to drag this cable 200 yards out there man interesting it it is i am however going to put off my gloves yes put on your gloves there there is some praise here in this line and you don't want to get bitten by them they hurt there we go this boat coming down here that is team waters dennis and tammy from team waters they are one of the most advanced search and rescue teams in all of america they are physically both responsible for locating over 150 missing people their sonar capabilities are out of this world there's a lot of government agencies that have used them personally to uh just to locate missing people and they've done a fantastic job with that they're here helping us and uh it's been great another job for me today i'm a waiter okay thank you [Music] um let's let's take the green line this one yeah let's take the green line the green line is going to give us just a about a foot more more leverage in the direction that we need it i tell you what it's going to make it easier on you pull out as much as you can now and then it'll be less resistance once you get to walking with it there you go all right yeah you're going to need to pull out a few more just be gentle we're not going to want to pull that off the ram we're going to have to keep a minimum of five wraps on that ram and safely be able to pull all right yeah yeah keep keep adam really big help man being able to get underwater and rig these cars be very hard it would be pretty much impossible to do you know yeah it really is a team effort you know it takes yes a lot of good people coming together to make some magic happen so for those of you who don't know my name is doug bishop i'm from portland oregon elite towing in recovery i've been helping jared and adventures with purpose for almost two years now we together we have pulled out 50 plus cars out of rivers uh now across america and usually we use lift bags which attach bags to the car fill them with air and it breaks them free from the bottom uh so far here in nashville we have yet to use one lift bag and because of the power of this 60 ton we're able to just hook these cars up and drag them right in so one's coming up out of the water right now this chrysler right here that's crazy let's focus here on the next show make sure that i get out of the way to a safe location anybody want to guess what this would be is it going to be a car it's going to be a truck still got some synthetic cable on the end of this one as well oh something popped up that's just the wheel that came off [Music] and again this bank severely cuts off here so when we pull the car in it's wanting to go down that bank it's a lot of weight in these cars some of the the chrysler that we just pulled out didn't have any silt in it at all which is amazing that's perfect but a lot of these cars have anywhere from about four to eight thousand pounds of silk inside of them which you know means we're we're pulling about you know anywhere from ten to twelve thousand pounds got jared and brock the rock here coming up thank you guys hey how you doing great let's get back to the action here this is real fishing ladies and gentlemen and i think we have a big one [Music] oh we have a bumper that wheel is they've just been in there for so long deteriorating it's a big reason why we're getting these out of the river stuff just sits in rocks it affects the local marine life drastically i know it's been in the river for a long time but getting them out is pivotal to having a healthy marine life okay so it looks like we have a pickup truck for so for those of you who guessed pickup truck you are the lucky winner i think this is a chevy chevy pickup truck probably gonna have to we're gonna have to re-rig this that axle completely came loose you know we couldn't make it easy on you zeke [Music] can i walk there there he is everybody there's jared [Music] mike good you need me to take that jared all right bit more you can go ahead and bring it up turtle is in the headliner okay uh guys hello floorboard passenger side passenger side floorboard just so you guys know that that right there is not a turtle i am pretty confident that there's not a turtle in this car but what i do know is that all of these cars are being staged at a pavilion the gaylord opryland center we're going to be doing a big show-and-tell we'll continue to look through this car it's not going far and if there's a turtle that we cannot find right now i will give you my word that i will get the turtle out thank you though to everyone who was concerned about the turtle because if there was i definitely want to get them out but back to this what do you guys think this is i think it's a chevy [Music] [Music] we think that is zeke chevy ford chevy that's what i think as well used to be a chevy me personally speaking i think a dodge would have held up a lot better underwater that's just my opinion i like dodges [Music] oh ladies and gentlemen a chevy zeke thinks it's a chevy right it's pretty sure it's a plastic at the bottom yeah that's a telltale right that's exactly what brought my attention to that together with the tail lights yeah yeah i think we're on the same page but but i've been wrong plenty what do you think you think a dodge would have held out better underwater pre-1990 probably not after i'm really doing my best here to put dodge on the map after 1990 this is a chevy no doubt yeah chevy yeah i know so my cousin works for dodge ram yeah yeah and he showed me a video that for the art research development about them trying to twist a truck frame and it will not twist 17 000 pounds over here yeah and then 17 000 pounds on the front end bumper on the other side and try twisting it with a twist so yes now ram ram's the way to go there's the axles ladies and gentlemen that fell off it really didn't get fell off got pulled off doug let the cord come out there we go guys it'll be joined for a second [Music] that's coming out [Music] to get the chevy emblem [Music] what's going on doug what's up anthony not much just got this one re-rigged he's gonna throw a hook on this we're gonna try to pull the rest of this pickup out and see if we can get this guy cleared from the guy and from what i gather we already have another one rigged out there right do we i see the blue line tethered up there to the shore if that's not rigged if we have one i'll dive on and get it rigged up i just want to make sure we have one targeted with a magnet so i can drop down the line straight too i am positive that there's another one out there sweet already rigged up right jared went out there and rigged uh rick two this is one of the two that he rigged okay what do you need boss so for those of you just tuning in it's a pretty dilapidated vehicle here the axle over there got ripped off so we got to re-rig it these things are like sponges at this point it's not easy as it looks [Music] thank
