Accent Tag with Rebecca Morgan | Canada vs. USA | Surprising differences!

hey there thank you so much for joining me today my name's Natasha and I have a very special guest with me today Rebecca for game if you guys watched any of my videos you know I think about her all the times we're actually in the same city normally we live like six or seven hours apart and we're both in town for IMATS yeah and we and we had a lot of fun so we thought we would do a couple videos together and we thought we would just do like tag videos just to kind of make it fun oh yeah so I chose the accent tag and if you want to see the video Rebecca and I did together on your channel then it will be on her Channel we'll probably put them up on the same day yeah yeah and for those of you who don't know I am from the US and Rebecca is from Canada I don't think we have super different accents but I still feel like moving from Pittsburgh we have a very distinct accent and then you can from the Toronto area yeah you also heard it like place here it's a lot bigger than I guess I thought it would be so I feel like we do say some things differently I thought it'd be fun to explore that today and there's just like a series of words and we are just gonna see if we say in them differently and the first word is yes yeah okay yeah easy so far and then roof or they were talking about that earlier yeah its roof okay this one I say root I say brow you say round i say round yeah no I never say ro I feel like even like my GPS says like routing and then theater theater yeah I don't say theater oh yeah I don't say that my mom is Italian and she has trouble with the letter H and she said she calls it the Tia there so we're the teacher iron yeah iron salmon salmon yeah my mom said sell me out there yeah she was though this one no I feel like I say caramel but I was just a caramel I think caramel oh you did that a little bit meow mmm yeah fire fire yeah why is this so dark oh I have it on my hood water water oh I know I say it different every time New Orleans New can say become but I won't yeah you they do some French things we definitely say differently what is this both oh I say both and you're saying it the way I say it but I feel like when I have in your videos you say you like both both both yeah I don't know a round it Oh both weird like it when I think of how I say words it always just I feel like I think it's different you think you're saying like the textbook for now but then when I say it in this sentence it's totally different yeah because I'm not thinking about it like I probably say both yeah my god I'm like oh yeah I'm so proper I say it this way but probably when I'm like wishing all my words together in real life it's very yeah different again again again yeah anyone say a game no probably probably I feel like ice lair that one and and she said when she moved to England people said to like they said tube it's you like a tube of toothpaste and she would always say tube and they would think she was weird for saying like that - yeah like to the next one we definitely say differently okay you say it first because I feel like I'm gonna say it the way you say it now that I'm thinking about it okay well say like if see that word gets like punctured it probably is that it's probably just like maybe a little bit lighter I don't know but you can buy like four bags of milk like one liter they were iterator than you buy them yeah it's just a bag of lik its liquid milk and why is it easier to put on another great container and then cut it and then use it as a staple of my childhood like not on your culture here I have you try some tomorrow you have to buy today but you have to buy like for four minutes of milk you can just buy one oh my god so much a commitment leaving tomorrow do you ever college culture here it's I don't know if it's Franzia but then when you're tugging it you like that's like a thing oh never no no we only like recently got like cartons of wine which having a bag inside of the carbon and that has a little like yeah thing maybe they take them back out of the box because I don't know anywhere that just sells you bags of wine maybe you know just pull it out of them like a carving that's what they looks it's the same packaging as Smarties so we have Smarties in US and they have the same candy but they call it Rockets and then they have another candy called Smarties which is chocolaty yeah kind of you said like M&Ms Konya I feel like Emma's the exact same package in just work it right on the front yeah I didn't even notice that I was like oh look you guys Marty's here and you're like no they say Rockets Marty but they did yeah it's Robin yeah it's your country we're in your country so we'll call it it's rocket so little fun fat well trivia for you all right first question 10 minutes later Pittsburgh now we all call it pop and I was surprised to hear that you guys also do that so I wonder if that's just like a northern region thing yeah maybe I don't know if they call it like that in any other state though I feel like I've always heard soda when I go to the States ok what do you call gym shoes Oh runners I call some tennis shoes versus sneakers yeah I used to call them sneakers icon runners or running shoes I feel like tennis shoes I am so so beat red we're gonna have to make up the real hard for it we film your butt Oh what do you call your grandparents it I don't think this is like a regional okay that's just yet for surf the only thing so we have I have a Nana and Papa and a nanny and poppy okay so my grandparents on my mom's side are Italian and we called them no no and Nonna and then my parents on my dad's my grandparents on my dad's side we called him pat pat and then my grandma I don't know if we had another term for her but from the time she was like well I was alive we called her granny green shoes oh my god okay than I am been led to believe that we could she owned a pair of green shoes but I actually don't know I can't confirm your diet yeah papi if I'm dreaming without water yeah that's what I'll call it a faucet if it's like in the bathroom I don't know yeah I feel like I mean how often am i referring it to like that no specifically but if I were I would say faucet what date tells you your food is expired look best before so mysteriously like the expiration date yeah we have I confessed before date yeah I feel like artists would say like sell by the state sell by like I make the stores can no no ours it's like best before so it's like for the consumer like yeah bested consumed by I guess I can't think of like every single product that I own but I feel like the ones I see always like the dairy products take sell before this date yes it's like a little tab on the top of the bag so you could like literally lose the tag oh really you know like not even yeah ours this stamp like right on the front sell by this date you know I've never seen the fill buy in any sort maybe it's just produce for us or maybe it's just dairy I mean so best for expiry expiry expiry of its expiration you say expiry yeah expiry date expiration date I would never say expiry date what pulverizes food waste under your sink oh we don't even have that what nope I've never once seen a house with that but I know exactly what that is yeah I think it's called the disposal or yeah that's not a thing no we don't have garbage disposals just oh so that's what it is see how you remember better than meat when it's gone really yeah I don't think there's one like at our apartment but there's one in like those houses I've never never gone anywhere to anyone's house that has a garbage disposal what's the place you buy alcohol called the liquor store in the grocery well I guess like you would call it the LCBO yeah call it we call it the CBO or call the lick Bo or like Bo yeah called beer store or the liquor store we would I mean most of the places for us it's called the wine and spirits because that's the name of the store yeah I feel like liquor store it's what I would do with this start what do you call the bag in which you bring your books to school backpack backpack or book bag crack what's the last letter of the alphabet C said man yeah that is you so fancy what do you call the pencils he used to color with colorful graham colored pencil yeah I already so much room this tag I'm saying it so many times I'm losing the meaning in my head I I want to say it's we call consoles I don't like babies color pencils what's a string of people waiting for something called a line I'm lying no you would probably call it a cute me or or I've heard a lot of like people in the states say online like waiting online but I would say I would think like in locking online being like on the Internet yeah and I really think in my lineup what do you used to wipe your about the dinner napkin yeah a napkin or a tissue like even if it's made of fabric good not dude but yeah even like a paper napkin I would not call it tissue the only time I'd call it a tissue is if it's like in the bathroom and you're using it to blow your nose they're like huh yeah yeah I don't know why but in my head I know that like I would never call an activity what do you blow your nose with tissue tissue yeah or Kleenex I just felt like a Kleenex yeah what do you say when you need to walk through a crowd of people sorry eyes excuse me I usually try to be like oh I'm gonna sneak past you real quick or like something like yeah let him know that I'm aware I'm getting real close in them you know aware of it I'm not sorry I say sorry let's make sorry I'm just getting in your way yeah I always like I'm sneaking past you real quick I don't know why I say that all right what grade did you graduate middle school so we don't have middle school so oh so you go from like Elliman mm-hmm yeah we have a Elementary School which is until grade 8 so I guess that's what graduate middle school and yeah we have high school which is like 9 to 12 okay I know for me I went to a really really big school and they were restructuring a lot of things so I went to a K through four building and then a 5/6 building and then a 7/8 building oh my god 9 through 12 it was a lot of people coming into one I graduated with like 400 people Wow I mean did you graduate but um probably yeah probably about like 300 I think that's big Bert where I am I feel like most schools aren't that big like my boyfriend dreams graduated with 70 oh my gosh no class yeah like because I lived in like a small town it was like a high school that was all the surrounding towns so we had three different high schools in the area but mine was like the Catholic High School so it was like the biggest one Catholic school yeah just girls or was it not boy the girls you know very beautiful is that comment like in most schools or is it just like if it's that looks okay like the same like the Catholic schools are like separate from the like publicly funded schools as a Catholic funded okay funded I think yeah we got to we're like art we call them cities on like wait cities likes to be like civilian clothes oh yeah it's like in a military term yeah I thought you meant for your uniform no we wear cities like once a month I think we've got like special days would you get like extra fancy like totally go yeah oh my gosh we're like you're in new clothes on like a sue these days that's cute so that was
