Abandoned Asylum With Power - How Does This Still Work!?

in this episode we're venturing inside an abandoned Asylum that still has working electricity the particular building we're exploring today was built in the 1930s in an Art Deco style it's filled with old equipment and surprisingly a lot still works actually turned off join us as we discover what's left [Music] [Music] the exit signs always seem to last the longest when there's still power but even the fluorescents are struggling maybe it's only an emergency power circuit that's locking the fluorescents are already burned out oh yeah I don't even notice that was on [ __ ] has this place really been hit by scrappers with power on and people are pulling wires out that's surprising I think the tunnel is at the end of this hallway shrooms are all pretty empty though this is all maybe stuff down here it's electrical room walking through water when electricity is humming it's not the best idea at all in the sausage this door is the tunnel with restraints on it but I think they all have restraints so when they roll around they don't fall off this was the tunnel that would connect to the other villains um it's like a ha destory tunnel I thought that was lighting up for a second there was just my light lighting off the red light tell us look like one of those wireless ones though for sure oh [ __ ] batteries are dead I think here's the main entrance those pain pills oh [ __ ] the light to do work in this floor completely oh [ __ ] did that turn on all the lights and that routes are not like this whole building has a really consistent color scheme just those yellow tiles this light blue paint on the door frames yeah this floor is a working power this wing is way more decayed than the wing we were just in it is we're gonna store a duct taped around what is in there quarantine or maybe you're a hot sheet so you look over here yeah sure I don't know look I have tea in there there's a table a chunk of the ceiling or really just fell before I hit record what's back here is a closet but more than a closet but it's just as empty it's a nice decay in this room this says dentistry yeah I think that's gonna be chairs inside possibly that's our call through it's locked oh there might be some stuff in there [Music] prosthetic lab reminds me of high school science class this is the plaster that they would make the prosthetic Sabbath there's a dentist chair over here a couple of them damn this is actually a pretty modern looking one not like the ancient looking ones we find in some hospitals yeah it does it's just the chair though none of the other equipment around it this one looks creepy in here this one looks really old with its head cushion I guess you're getting a more serious procedure done the dentist would work alone I like doing here impression material [Music] empty empty just a lot of empty decaying rooms this place is all natural decay though there's no vandalism oh yeah that's nice these poor bathrooms Oh what is that that's hello that looks like another dentist ooh true with a much older more of these things turn it on [ __ ] actually turned on are you kidding me I did not expect that joke again no here get up I don't know no don't look that was you turn on a drill or something oh boy all right turn it off go back down I don't know turn down this is supposed to make the foot petals work yeah Joel something's jammed up working at all unless like this hell does that oh one of these that was that's crazy that right there made the spot where a bit maybe there's a control on here how does this little work where's the pepper look at this building how is your still power to that you know lights don't work in here the whites don't work with this does this does this is crazy so the cord comes out far right yeah it goes that just connects this is it it's kind of hardwired to the building and the floor maybe probably okay that's unbelievable I hate that scared me when I first started doing something we now have the choice which is on every chair yeah everything check out this room now it's like a lab internal medicine throat lozenge ears let's see if there's any in there [Music] if you've seen some of our other videos on abandoned asylums then you likely already know that most of them had a history of abuse and inhumane treatment this institution was no different insulin shock therapy electroconvulsive therapy lobotomies and experimentation on patients all occurred here [Music] this was the x-ray room for sure because they had the box back here and then they put the slips in here the x-ray film this is worse control through the window I'm surprised it has windows yeah that box on the floor right there it's probably where the Machine mounted - yeah this floor looks like it has more stuff and I see a light on right there those were smooth what's in there that looks almost like a prison there's a slice of the motion the administration for the floor like desk I guess I don't know I'm just thinking like so maybe not there's a lot of computers stacked up old ones here's checks $850 from 2005 for the Research Foundation since they're all for the Research Foundation from the Research Foundation I look old sea cruises what are these doing in here it almost seems like a set cuz they're all complimentary tones yeah but I don't think they were this is where the chairs have been chillin I was a piano I'm gonna stay kind of low in here folks we're super exposed this is really cool within that chairs they got an organ over there do you think what if it's super loud or is volume one of these our volume this is volume maybe I don't think it works no I don't think it works this looks very setup yet someone moved it there to get a shot shares have like a pattern to them red green yellow red green and then that's it the fire alarm was only able to be operated with a key that way patients couldn't pull it this is where the noise was doesn't it sound like a flowing sound to you yeah holy [ __ ] look at this room holy [ __ ] is right it's all medical equipment their slides in here watch free stuff is a bunch of glass right next to you files yeah and needles still package the cell is still packaged ok look at this drawer did you see this it's watertight that's a good design drawer listen there's still stuff left on the drying rack look at this it is on Wow it is on what does it say on the sticker on those tubes right there the date 89 oh it's the filters organic filter is just a water filter yeah but if you're one fine yeah and that indicator light - looks I don't know how that's working it looks like something really old-fashioned [Music] that noise has to be coming from this meeting it's closet right it's not it's further down so it's coming from someone on the left it does like in this room this you it's a computer fan no way the model is dead try rebooting it no the monitor is on need some RAM there goes there it goes I heard it DDoS Norton AntiVirus [ __ ] video on floppy disk drive if you can get him get the mouse working the whole computers locked up because number one wasn't it olive oil I woke up dude this is gonna be a long boot there's 98 it's a keeper that's a keyboard works look there's a mean mark out this was Margo is computed how'd you get on as click cancel they wanted network input oh my god [ __ ] let's look at the files for the documents [Music] any organisation like to have dissertation or pictures pictures within subject factors BMI body rather than death No innovations in building one a cluttered that one all the way on the right patients a building one at the word document it's just a bunch of patients with no information what's the date on these files - laughing - okay today access so a lot of phantom places have guests log where people explore she visit it's usually something pretty not instructor or whatever but they'll write I like a chalkboard or so maybe a sophomore I think this is gonna be the best guess in here just like when we saw at the asylum in Italy yeah I don't know this probably just controls the actual device like the actual flashing device isn't here so that diagram was a map of where the electrodes are supposed to be placed on the head you see the ears and the nose oh I think this is a soundproof booth oh yeah super quiet in here I think this is a soundproof it's a sample sound proof booth it's a sound else like the leather the seat it does it's a booth fully insulated electrodes attached their response probably come to you there Wow oh it looks like there's a line yeah we're very look these dials over here it's a polygraph a lie-detector machine it is it says polygraph right that's the model seven polygraph I mean it just measured the brainwaves so it wasn't specifically a lot detector yeah it sure could be used for that that's really cool I thought that was the top for my potato a little something up y'all this is open it goes up again really yeah look at this though this is glorious the cold floor you're these more polygraphs or something yes that's what that is this is a small floor there's no wings yeah there's one wing yeah this is another polygraph holy [ __ ] what's going here some showers lined up these aren't plugged in but look at this camera maybe what do you think this is Ola screech in goes right here yeah maybe looks like I would line up to your eye remove the polygraph machine let's get some better filming you can see the actual paper and the noodles down here it would pull the paper from where your feet are up there here oh yeah and you can see you scribble in lines there and there's one of these for every needle yeah all the different probes would attach this is my favorite room so far though I actually like rooms that have less stuff and then if it's cool stuff so you just get more of a vibe from the room no I didn't so these weren't dentistry cares though no Wow they're incandescent [Music] although parts of this building have been used as offices into the 2000s much of it became disused in the 70s therefore all the medical equipment we're finding is likely at least 50 years old can I bring dela for central supplies er no please don't now how's that go so I will probably water the hospital Oh our personnel only space in the operating room this is gonna be the operating room looks like they stopped using it as an o'er covered personnel only if there's likes left we'll be so happy I hear buzzing back here it's going here first dish maybe I don't want to yeah I don't wanna brush it off is it look cool in there it says doctors dressing around that's a locker room oh man oh man holy [ __ ] [Music] that's life okay I need to try to tilt the lights I see it slides back and forth too [Music] this is so cool this is the best surgical room we found anything ever for sure so all the supplies are still in here yeah they all look so old got to chronic for that's what all these are disposing dispensing reels gromicko gut gut chronic Oh what do you want would you like something got chronica or krama go gut it's like a rating double zero triple zero it's like a size reading the gloss right there that's gross I don't know what that is instrument washer sterilizer oh it's on it's on dude it says complete let me steal it off the tan line I'm sure you can [ __ ] oh my god true put something in there that seals up really tight look at that it just moved I think it's says complete it's working it's right Mary be here do something it's preshera it's manual let me get a close-up of that moving make it move again I don't know if I can't it pressurized it when I locked it and then I'll make this thing all right I think that's enough what if you're something wait yeah it could be just going but it says complete I love this place expectations thoroughly exceeded what's in here I think this is the doctors gene I think there's such a stark difference between the two operating rooms look at this look at the decay in this one and there's like a desk in it do they convert this into an office oh wow this one's way more decayed Wow it's like a completely different atmosphere versus the last place looks like an office with the search of the light yeah they shove stuff in here after they weren't using it knowing the date of construction of this building it's entirely possible that lobotomies were performed in these very operating rooms however we weren't able to find any conclusive info on if they were carried out here or elsewhere on the hospital campus they seized on yeah is it blowing hot or cold cold geez we don't need more cold AC is on all these notices - that's the hospital he knows had to blur this whole thing oh this is interesting right here so a non-resident came to the hospital for treatment like a dawn psychological patient and says within the past few days a medical physician was apparently notified that a visitor and chest pain outside the hub the physician did not go to assess the situation apparently being unsure as to what our responsibilities are in the case of a visitor that says please always respond whether you were specifically being asked to respond or being notified that an emergency situation is in progress we have absolutely no medical / legal defense for a failure to respond our duty is to see any patient who requires our - anyone who has any medical issue I think we could have technically come here yeah even though there's clearly not protocol for it yeah [Music] with the amount of medical equipment left behind and the fact that power still runs
