Aaron Paul Goes Sneaker Shopping With Complex

[Music] what up everybody its Joe from complex we're in New York City at Stadium Goods with the Emmy Award winning Aaron Paul everybody good you do some sneaker shopping today get to see what he's feeling what he's not and then hopefully it's gonna buy some sneakers I'm gonna buy some sneakers let's go and let's talk growing up your skateboarder growing up is that sure I heard that you tried rollerblading it didn't really work out but skating is really what skating is Billy's what's your thing yes skating was my thing I actually had a good time rollerblading but skateboarding was far superior there's a photo view from earlier seasons you're on set it looks like in New Mexico and you're doing a skateboarding trick getting good air and you're wearing kind of like a Air Jordan 1 and Nike Air Force one fusion was that what you were skating in back then this photo that you just brought up with a photo from the pilot of Breaking Bad and at a skateboard and some Nikes and well the actors on set impressed with your skills or what I mean not really I don't really have that many great skills but I mean I like your uniform I mean I can Ollie I think they were just I think more pissed that I was even a skateboard okay I don't hurt yourself got it make sense yeah protect the asset fans you're a big van they are a big vans guys mm - you wore motivate these these were things the ones I had this color mm-hmm I had blue I had green yeah red I think I had rat I definitely had red man wear him to red carpet oh it's just an embarrassing ways man like not properly because I was really like anti red carpet and so I would also I wasn't really working that much and so maybe I was just frustrated because that okay I would show up to these red carpets and we're just the most ridiculous things but I had to be in comfortable shoes things that I loved this is that so perfect a point feet yeah another silhouette that you love Converse Chuck Taylors an iconic silhouette iconic iconic will never die never and how many do you think you have in the clause IC u s-- like I mean now I honestly I have them I probably have to just basic black chucks and then I have multiple leather ones I think Chuck did a collaboration with Barbados yeah John were available and so I have low tops high tops lots of different different ones yeah there's an infamous video sure you know price is right oh yeah everyone talks about it you were very excited but there's one detail yeah you were wearing a puma sneaker keychains rights do it right what was that about I never since I just bought now you gotta understand that's one of my my finest roles that was you killed it raw you kill them I mean look at what I was wearing okay it was wrong i I was six or seven cans of Red Bull okay deep okay just because I knew the producers needed some energy I needed to give them the good TV and so I was trying to sell it man I just bought my nephew Noah who actually lives in New York now I just bought him a pair of shoes and I wore it as a good luck charm and and you know what here we are yeah look at that that was foreshadowing this is right now exactly right Aaron you know we just talked about style progression back in the day when in the earlier seasons how similar do you think Jesse style was to you coming up in like the early 20s a little baggy jeans Nike Air Force Ones similar yeah I mean I wasn't so baggy mm-hmm but then I used to have you know it's just the cutoff Dickies and Doc Martin okay and then yeah he definitely has evolved throughout the the show and the velcome II know you know we complex has a large staff I was again gonna shoot Aaron Paul and someone in the office goes yeah that knit sweater he wore in like the last scene was fire how about this actually the one that's tough III I kept that entire fit okay movie I stole it yeah don't tell anyone sorry Netflix Yeah right what is it I stole it uh see this file progression from the earlier seasons to that it must you probably have a lot more fun with them besides your completely different and you know he's a new man and it was fun especially for a performer you've been playing such different skins of his character or the same character within you know just different versions of himself and it was important to me to take that final sort of that final look I'd take that home another kind of not even an easter egg Cranston's Wallabies fate did a collab now did he wear like the same ones throughout did he save them or what they became like a thing that people always gravitated to did man I mean he it was the same shoes throughout the entire show he's sentimental Brian okay he actually wrote us all a letter towards after we were done the Smithsonian did a big exhibit for Breaking Bad and he wanted us to donate all of our personal items that we got from the show to dismiss own Ian and I read this letter I'm like no I'm I'm not giving away my stuff you know and but he ended up getting all of his stuff away so the Wallabies are probably in the wallaby I don't even know if he took your wallet B's I mean I would have taken a long yeah is there anything that you really one of your prized possessions that you held close nice - I stole so much from it okay and a good in a nice way up there knocking I don't think anyone's gonna knock down your door you know but I just kept I kept a lot of things in the show I have some classic old-school Jessie attire um they would not let me keep those first sneakers though really yeah Jessie had the same sneakers for so long and I wanted to take him direct no no no no sorry not letting you it's alright Sony idea took plenty more stuff but I got the pink teddy bear okay from the show I got two giant los Pollos hermanos like semi truck doors that were blown up by a machine gun right I mean really the list is endless okay well it seems like you made off for the sneakers yeah it's fine well we talked about everything now is the easy part browse the shelves you already got the off-white Blazers let's see what you're gonna add to he's going on but you're gonna get today how you doing man I got to get my baby girl some shoes and I get these and I have to go with this because look it matches my oh baby girl and then I I have to go with these because so I was doing a photo shoot actually it was for promoting El Camino and this photographer friend of mine who's doing this shoot had these exact shoes on no photos the other one says photos on the back and I just could not stop staring at these beautiful beautiful beautiful all right Aaron your total is 3,780 $7 76 cents or faked thank you very much my friend you gonna appreciate it [Music] so Aaron came through told some great stories thanks so much for taking the time thank you my friend for you sharing it make sure everyone checks out El Camino streaming on Netflix right now [Music] what everybody it's Joe from complex I want to see everyone in Long Beach November 2nd and November 3rd for complex con the Speaker of the Year panels going down exclusive meet and greets make sure you get your tickets at complex con calm right now
