bless you they are at the top of their craft six dramatic actors who deliver week after week I like a man who delivers week after week the nominees for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series are Simon Baker The Mentalist Gabriel Byrne in treatments Bryan Cranston Breaking Bad Michael C Hall Dexter John Hamm madman you Laurie house Wow and the Emmy goes to Bryan Cranston breaking Bryan Cranston was born in Southern California his first acting job is portraying a car crash victim in the United Way commercial he was eight years old and the commercial was directed by his father is the second consecutive Emmy win for Bryan Cranston my goodness you know I'm thankful for so many things Lee Trevino was struck by lightning twice and and now I know how he feels I'm I'm so thankful that Glenn Close is actually a woman I'm thankful to AMC and Sony for for being so courageous and supportive throughout this whole process of Breaking Bad I am I am honored to be in the company of these great actors it's an embarrassment of riches for me and I got to tell you I am I'm a poor kid from the valley I don't know what I'm doing up here I feel like Cinderella I would like to thank our team of writers and directors and producers our brilliant cast I love you guys so much and our wonderful wonderful crew in New Mexico led by the brilliant Michael slovis who are watching thank you guys and thank you to - Brett Hansen and - Kevin stole perfer guiding me to this wonderful project led by the brilliant Vince Gilligan Breaking Bad is is a story about a good man who who makes bad decisions and I stand before you a humbled man very grateful for the decision the Academy has made to honor me with this award thank you so much and good [Applause] [Music] the next award is for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series and the nominees are Andre Braugher men of a certain age Michael Emerson lost Terry O'Quinn lost Aaron Paul Breaking Bad Martin Short damages John Slattery met and the Emmy goes to Aaron [Applause] Aaron Paul says his first memory of television was loving Fraggle Rock I presume Fraggle Rock is an extremely powerful type of crystal mett this is the first any win and second nomination for Aaron Paul and I'm so grateful that he gave me a hug on the red burger thanks Aaron Wow I was truly not expecting to wow there's so many people come up on the stage so thank amazed to be in your company you're only as good as the company you keep and and I'm honored to be there with you guys at home the company I keep is is my women's support group my my lovely wife Robyn so wonderful for me I love to act it is a passion of mine and I will do it until my last breath I can only say that I have gratitude for everything that has happened I have gratitude for the Academy for this lovely honor to the love of my family I love you guys too a gratitude for for AMC and and Sony and especially Vince Gilligan to make this possible for me to have this role of a lifetime gratitude for our writers our directors the wonderful crew that we have in New Mexico and this intimate cast that we created my dear friend Aaron Paul I love you so much you were with me all the way and I appreciate that and helping each other to Anna Gunn my television wife extraordinaire I love you and especially those scenes in bed finally I want to just say that I'd like to to dedicate this this award to all the sneaky Pete's of the world who thought a soft thought that maybe settling for mediocrity was a good idea because it was safe don't do it take a chance take a risk find that
