A Difficult Game About Climbing Speedrun World Record vs TAS

a difficult game about climbing keeps getting faster it seems like every day a new world record is being set so I ventured out to find the upper limit in order to find the perfect run in this video I will be comparing the current world record holder Clark to a tool assisted speedrun if you don't know what a tool assisted speedrun or toss is it's defined as a speedrun or playthrough composed of precise inputs recorded with tools such as video game emulators tool assisted speedrunning tests the theoretical limits of games the toss user has full control over the game's frame rate which when brought down to a still allows frame byf frame movement to record a sequence of fully precise inputs with no mistakes now let's see how the current world record holder matches up against the tool assisted speedrun okay just so we're all clear we have Clark on the right and the toss speedrunner on the left let's get into this crazy fast start this is the first time I'm watching either of these videos by the way too just so you know and obviously the toss on the left is going to be going way faster just because it's machine inputs so yeah he's already a section ahead it's really not even close obviously and I know some of you guys are going to think oh my God Clark's going so slow but you got to realize one is literally a computer and one is the world record holder for humans but yeah it's really not even close I mean look at [Music] this okay super weird technique from the um little circle thing there getting momentum on that that was weird Clark just about to finish the clock tower section holy the toss speed run on the left is going ridiculously fast he didn't even use the uh the drywall skip which Clark will definitely use so I'll punt that out once we get there oh my go looks like you just glitched through the wall little mistake from Clark there too little mistake he can still recover [Music] though and the tool assisted speedrun is on is well onto the ice section oh my God what what did the toss speedrunner just do where he just absolutely Blows By The Shed look at [Music] this what was that that was insane these are just obviously not humanly possible inputs he's just breaking the camera he's just going way past the camera that's that's actually comical okay and now the tool assisted speedrun is over oh I meant to point out Clark just did the thing on the cinder block where he just goes straight up instead of going around the entire scaffold he just climbs straight up these cinder blocks like I was mentioning before and Clark still has about halfway to go but like I mentioned he's still the world record holder and it's by a long shot it's by a full minute almost so don't look at this and be like oh my God he's going so slow compared to that tool assisted speedrun it's not the same thing it's not even comparable so you can't look at them the same I'm just doing the side side by side so we have a nice comparison of the upper limit versus the world record but yeah this is still a wonderful run you guys might not realize that either cuz when comparing like this it's hard to see but it really is like like it's literally the best run in the world at the [Music] moment but if you know anything about speedr running and if you know anything about this guy Clark he's going to beat the world record by the time you're watching this video yep he's just getting through the ice section super easy still really quick still his best run and anyone's best run ever clouds no problem oh missed the cloud there quick recovery though all right and he got a little bit cocky here I don't know why he's doing this cuz he definitely missed like at least two seconds by doing that little one-handed maneuver he's so close and boom 458 he has almost exactly double the time as the tool assisted speedrun so if that shows you anything about the upper limits of this game there's a lot of [Music] potential
