so as uh some of you guys might know uh it's been it's been kind of short-handed around the farm the two young guys yeah the two younger guys the ones with the well not the not gonna say it well i've been under the weather laying around not doing much but i've been uh i'm pulling double time now yeah it's saturday i'm supposed to be home you know the yard what all backyards are like well the work never ends but i'm gonna go uh attempt to do uh some dirt removal from a road that was uh well it it is part of the whole fall it is a victim of the of the rain issue let's just say there was a hog barn involved a liquid manure needing to be hauled out because well you know when the pits get full they get full and you gotta you gotta get that out when you gotta get it out so they tried hosing it on with the big drag line and of course for those that you know you know what that is uh that failed so they had to tanker it out and then the warm weather came back and kind of uh moistened up the top a little bit made all of the mud stick to all of the tires and i don't know if i can sneaky a peek of one of these tankers but when i say they're big yeah they're big big big big stuff so the gravel road took a beating i'm gonna go out and try and get some of that dirt off of there so that the neighbors up in the countryside up there can use the road this winter without getting their pickups off full of mud and i don't know if we're gonna be able to get any gravel hauled because well at this time of the year the gravel uh gravel pits they close up they uh go home for the winter but maybe we could sneak a few loads out there we'll try we'll do our best so here's me driving and trying well i suppose that really isn't fair of me just to say for those of you that know i wouldn't be doing anybody any justice if i didn't explain what a whole system is to those that of you that don't know it's merely a big pump that you lay out of whatever a mile of big hose i think it's six inch hose something like that it's big and uh you pump all the manure through that hose however long the hose is it is although you do have to put in additional pumps along the way if you try to pump it too far because it just can't you can't keep it going but it is a nice way of transferring the nerve to the field but along with that it also causes other issues like kyle intakes you gotta lift the hose up and over all the tile inlets so you don't wreck them and also it is uh what happened out here it was froze up pretty good when they tried it and then it got warm and uh when they tried putting the manure on from what i understand is they spun out with the tractor the applicator looking that's a bad intersection so they spun out and couldn't pull the big uh big injector the incorporating device the uh tool the toolbar there you go it's earlier i can't think so that's why they went to the tankers is because it just got a little dis wasn't right oh i don't want to drive through no soft liquid stuff here if they're gonna haul with i see three of them and uh might have to reevaluate this choice once again the camera don't do it justice but believe you me when i tell you it's dirt it's dirt i'm gonna put you out here you can ride with you can keep an eye on it tell me when it's full it is definitely not working to what i had hoped it would we might have to reevaluate this whole plan well it's froze just a little too hard if i could get underneath yeah you guys are just not going to be able to see that there's about i don't know half inch to inch of dirt on top of that gravel if i could only get underneath if i could pick if i could get that blade to scoop down underneath that it would peel right off but it's just froze too hard i should have been out here i suppose three in the morning but uh that's when i kind of like to fluff my pillow up and turn over and lay on my other side this way it is struggling okay i think i got the perfect spot to show you what i'm dealing with they have drove down the dirt it has adhered itself to the gravel but if i could only if i could only get down to the gravel itself and get get that picked up i wouldn't i'm not gonna touch it because well you know it's got some manure residue with it but uh that's my dirt road or gravel road that used to be no no that is my gravel road that has turned into a dirt road i'm sure that manure applicator is looking at me like uh why are you out here because you know i'm not done mudding up the road but i had to try so i know what to do next week when they are done that makes sense right i had to know what to do next week when they are done hauling manure okay and yeah chet thanks for making me do this this is this is awesome but just helping you out heal up youtube big sweet i tell you what's his country come to yeah i gave up on the road cleaning now i'm gonna go see if i can get stuck one last time for the year man it hasn't gotten any easier with one hand i say it hasn't gotten any easier working with one hand oh i should eat no i just ate i'm kind of sleepy should have more water i really should let's go that's up all the way boy that sure don't lift very high it's very concerning too but it is what it is here we go go ahead ask what in the world are you doing i'm not sure but i definitely and i say i'm definitely in standing soybeans yeah trying to get rid of this water it's just unbelievable this is that land that the chant had picked up or rented and uh it was so wet the previous farmer just hold the plug abandoned not gonna not gonna attempt to harvest so we left them as long as we could but now now it's time to try to get the water to leave no more waiting ran across some old uh farm drain tile out here so at least we know there's tile out here that we can maintain fix back up get it going to prevent exactly what's going on here it's been quite a battle this year but it is what it is to me but i don't know yet but i'm gonna find out i'm gonna guess that the tile is plugged up or has been broken somewhere downstream and when that happens any thing upstream becomes saturated and the tile actually comes the water comes back up out of the tile creating what else situations like this but we ain't gonna be able to find that out this year but uh next year or sometime in the future we're gonna have to do some little explore exploratory exploratory surgery with the excavator and backhoes trying to uh follow that tire line up seeing where it's uh damaged at repairing it and then fixing this or that actually will fix it so so you guys that don't really know how tile works if you ever have or if you know that you have a tile line in your field and all of a sudden you get a wet spot that just starts oh it's magic it's a spring there's a new weld in the country it's coming up out of the ground oh that's more likely where your tile is broke pinched off collapsed damaged whatever but that's where you dig down and you try to find out why the water is coming up because that's where your tile is broke and i'm going to guess it's right down there a few hundred feet back there where the water all of a sudden disappears it goes back down it's dry downstream but then it's wet here so that's where i'm going to go digging and i'll bet you at 90. i'm not going that bet nothing's no good for people but i'm i'm gonna find that break there i think that was a rambling thing again i gotta go i see you well stop running so fast hey hey yeah what is that kids i think that's what you call a vole they're like a mouse but they got a short little tail hey hey well normally normally i won't say it have a good little winter out here he's maybe wishing something else would have happened i can't imagine out good focused view for you don't think you're muddy no you're good oh man i don't know yeah i do know i just wish it would rain an inch a week and that what 21 inches in two months like we had i maybe
