Hi it's Seta here. In this short video I  will show you the solution of eight of   the most common terrain related problems  that you have been asking me about in the comments I think that this information will  also be useful for beginners, so let's get started It happens when our model contains  a LOD system that the terrain details don't   support. Fortunately this is very simple  to fix. First find model that you want to   use and put them on the scene now right  click prefab, unpack, select LOD that you   want to use and move it up, set position  to 0, 0, 0, drag and drop them to the project   to create a prefab, and now you can add  them to the details and use them as you like If models do not have a LOD system Unity will  indeed add them to the terrain and we can use   them but their rotation and scaling won't work.  To change this we need to prepare models with   a LOD system. First in the project window, right  click, create, prefab, rename it and double click   to open. Now find the models you want to use  and drag them to the hierarchy. Now we need to   add a LOD, so add component LOD group, let's drag  and drop this model to lod0 and right click   delete this LOD 1 and two and increase LOD0  Now let's save this prefab, and now when we   go to the terrain and select edit tree we can  add our prefab to the tree prefab and when   we start painting we can change the tree height  and our models should work without any problems Unity doesn't allow lowering the terrain level  below 0, so to prevent this it's best to rise   the terrain to the certian height before you  start to sculp it. So first let's select   terrain and go to the Paint Terrain and select  Set Height, now set height and click flatten   tile and now when we select rise and lower  terrain we can lower terrain much more than before The terrain can only be raised to  the level that you specify as a Terrain   height in the terrain options. It is  good to know at the very beginning   what maximum terrain height you want  to achieve and set it in the terrain option Smoothing depends on the high map  resolution the higher the resolution the   less smoothing. Also remember that you can increase  the high map resolution without losing what you   have already curved but it is not recommended to  decrease it, so it is a good to start to creating   the terrain which are lower resolution and  increase it later if you want to shape it more details Using stamps is quite simple first  let's go to the stamp terrain just select   brush that you like and here you can set  the maximum height for the stamp the height   is measured from the zero level not from the  height of or terrain to change this we need to   set a Max add value to one. So zero indicates  the height from the point 0, and 1 indicates the   current height of our terrain and we can  also lower the terrain using the subtract option If you are using the paint  holes feature ( I'm curious if and  want use it:)) remember to check the  Terrain Hole option in the project   settings otherwise when you create a build  the all holes are gone and you got the solid terrain If you want to sculp the terrain to  a specific height during terrain editing is   the best to use the set height tool first  select set height and then when holding   down the shift key, click on the terrain this  will automatically set the height in your   set height tool, allowing you to sculpt  the terrain only up to that specific value It happens when the Unity doesn't load the  diffusion profile into the material to fix this  just go to the material find diffusion profile, click on it, and select the diffusion profile, and now all should work fine. And that's all for this  tutorial. I hope this information was helpful for   beginners in Unity, and if you have any questions  feel free to leave them in the comments. Let me know what other tutorials you would like to  see on the channel, and till the next time see ya
