[Music] all right I love this little piece and it's like a little canister type thing so I think I'm gonna grab this it took me a while to decide what to do with this canister so I'm going to start off by painting the entire piece with Waverly white chalk paint foreign next I'm going to be using some of this nautical rope from Dollar Tree you can pick it up at most Dollar Trees I'm going to start by taking the nautical rope and I'm going to start at the bottom adding some hot glue and I'm going to be twisting it around the edges [Music] I'm going to add about two pieces all the way up [Music] next I'm going to take that same nautical rope and I'm going to untwist it it comes with three strands that are twisted together so I'm going to try to remove one of the smaller strands and then I'm going to start hot gluing a smaller strand up just to kind of give it a variation in the look of it all right so I'm over in the chair section and I found this antique chair got like this really cool side to it and I just think I need to get this I really needed to be updated it had a lot of water damage and stains so I came in with my orbital sander and I'm just going to take it down so it's nice clean and ready to be re-standed [Music] after I was done with the orbital sander I came in and used just a hand sander to get in the spindles where I wasn't able to get them completely as well as like in between the spindles I'm going to be using this early American stain for this project I picked it up at Home Depot and I'm just going to wipe on one coat as I put the coats on I'm going to immediately pull it off with a rag I don't want the stain to be on there too long at all and I'm going to stain the entire piece foreign [Music] everything I realized that the piece just looked a little too perfect so I decided to come back in with my orbital sander and pull off some of the stain to give it a more distressed look so it's kind of a stained distressing look in the end I think this chair and the vase looks so great together in my hallway [Music] foreign you guys I feel like these are what I was talking about when I was talking about Landscaping frames or Landscaping prints that are really in right now now I feel like the frame may be a little too dark maybe we could sand it down and make it lighter but these are a great grouping and they're only four dollars each if you guys are in your thrift stores you definitely want to look for landscape prints like this with these two I wanted to add some rub and buff color to it so I put out three different options I'm going to flip the frames onto the back just so I can figure out which color I want to use what will work best I decided to go with this European gold color once I kind of put them all out all I'm going to do is take my foam brush and then I'm going to paint it onto this Frame I didn't take the mattes out or anything like that I'm just going to lightly put it on there I'm okay if some of the wood is still showing through but I love these rub and buff colors I'll link them for you guys down in the description box I feel like I've been using them all the time I'll definitely be using them next year as well painting the frames is an easy way to update any art piece [Music] at the thrift store you're not gonna believe it it was only four dollars and fifty cents but I wasn't a fan of the color of it so I needed to update that so I started by spray painting this pot I went with a really neutral tan color just to give me an even color throughout the entire piece I did it on one side and then I also flipped it to the other side and spray painted the bottom [Music] once that dried I came in with the color amber this is a sea glass spray paint and what that means is it's just going to be a little bit more transparent which is cool because you're still going to be able to see that tan color underneath but you're going to get a little bit of a terracotta tint to it once my spray paint dried I wanted it to look a little bit muted because you see a lot of like planters that have that muted look to them so to achieve that look I grabbed some Waverly white paint and I mixed it with some water I brushed it onto my pot and then I immediately wiped it off with a paper towel this gave me the look that I was going for I absolutely love the color of it foreign this eucalyptus plant off of Amazon which I think is perfect for this planter in my planter I added pieces of foam that I had left over on hand I also put a piece of plastic at the top and I finished off the top with some Moss that I grabbed at Dollar Tree one tip you guys is when you get Plants like this they're going to come squished up make sure you put your hands on every single branch and pull the pieces apart yes I spent a little bit more on the plant but she would have no idea that that planter was only four dollars and fifty cents you guys these coffee bags are two dollars each I could recover a bench with these or a chair and I love that idea all right we're gonna grab one of these now I've used similar bags like this before to create pillows I decided that I wanted to recover this oversized stool that I had so I started by just taking out the existing seat I unscrewed the seat from the base [Music] next I'm going to cut the coffee sack so I just have the top piece so I'm separating the top and bottom piece you really could cover two different things or a long bench with this because there was a lot to work with [Music] next I'm going to place it where I want it to sit as you're stapling it you're going to have to kind of keep checking it because it has wording and lettering on it it kind of you know moves around so you want to make sure that as you're putting this on you keep checking it I'm just going to start on one end and I'm just going to try to make the corners fold as neatly as possible and I'll staple it in place laughs [Music] and then all I did was just screw this back onto the existing piece and here's how it turned out this recovering only cost me two dollars [Music] the shape on this piece is really cool you guys if you don't like the color which it could use a spray painting I absolutely love the shape of this vase and wanted to put it out with some Christmas stems that I had on hand so I'm just going to spray paint it with two coats of a flat black spray paint I grabbed these Red Berry stems at Target I think they're great they give a nice subtle Christmas touch but you could honestly use them throughout the winter [Music] thank you all right so I'm over looking at the picture frames I like this one I like the size of it it's eight dollars the frame could definitely use painting the thing that I really like about it is the size and then it also has a nice matte that I can use the white matte is in good shape and I have an idea for it so now that I have the frame I want to find a piece of fabric that is interesting that I can put in my frame so I'm at Savers right now they have a ton of different Fabrics to choose from so I'll see if I can find anything I think I found the perfect piece of fabric for a frame it's white and yellow I could always dye it to a different color and it's 2.99 my first step was to remove all the components of this massive frame I thought I got a great deal on it for eight dollars so I'm taking off the backing and then I'm also going to take out the picture as well as the glass [Music] next I'm going to be painting my frame now I started with a color called mineral I actually painted two coats with this and in the end I felt like it was too gray for what I was going for and I actually went back and repainted this with a color called fawn that happens sometimes sometimes I paint it and it's just not the right color but I was really glad that I went back and you know made the change next I'm going to be using some craft paper that you can pick up at Dollar Tree and I'm just going to put this down as a barrier for my piece and I'm going to cut off any excess I'm just gluing this directly to the previous picture that was on there the reason I'm using the craft paper is because the fabric I'm using is see-through I decided to stick with the color of it yellow is really in right now so I wanted to use that same color so I'm just going to be using painters tape to wrap it around the edge the hard part here was just trying to make sure that I got it as even as possible I'm going to put all of the components back in making sure it's really clean before I lay it down [Music] next I'm going to add in my matte and then I'm going to add in the backing [Music] thank you here you can see I went back in with that Fawn color this is just more of a brown color and it actually is kind of a taupe color and I thought it played really nicely with the brown in the background of that craft paper I ended up adding a little bit of brown to deepen the color a little bit but that's what I love to do I love mixing colors until I have what I'm going for I put everything back in once again but really it was totally worth it and in the end this turned out so nice this project cost me under 15 and I think it looks awesome [Music] so this is definitely my go-to place for all glassware circular glassware is really popular right now we've been seeing it in a lot of high-end Decor Trends I'm gonna grab this as well as look for some other ones see if I can find them if not I'll fill in with different pieces from Dollar Tree okay I think this one is cute just a dollar and then I'm also gonna grab this one I want to have a little bit of variation in height and this one kind of makes like a you know a circle at the bottom so we're gonna grab this one I think we should grab this too Delaney says it's for coffee but I like that it makes a circle at the bottom this one might work all right guys so I'm gonna set them up on this table here see which ones I like and which are going to work well together [Music] oh I think this one would work too that one's heavy oh my gosh that's nice foreign I put all of the glassware in the dishwasher just to get it really clean and sparkling once I did that then I decided to fill all the vases up about halfway full with water [Music] for some reason my next clip got cut off but I just used Dollar Tree and Walmart stems cut those off and put one in each of the vase and I think these make a great grouping sitting out on my table [Music] so my thrift store has a big section of cutting boards so I'm going to grab this one it's four dollars it needs a little work so let's get it in DIY start by using my orbital sander and I'm going to link the one that I use down below I use this all the time and I'm just going to go over this piece until I get all of that polyurethane and natural finish off of it after I'm done sanding I'm going to wipe it down to get any dust or debris off of it next I thought this would be cool to add in some fun handles I picked up some really cute handles at Hobby Lobby so I'm just going to find the center point and measure in an inch and then make it in the center then I'm going to use my drill to create a hole make sure whatever you get handles at Hobby Lobby that you do on the 50 off day so it's not as expensive next I'm just going to add on the handles and put the little washer on the back now since I put the washer on the back this made this stand up a little bit so to fix that problem I'm going to add on some feet to the bottom just by adding in some wood beads that I had all of the things I'm using will be linked down in the description box I'm envisioning this tray sitting out on a table it would also be great for a coffee table as well thank you foreign [Music] it's okay to diy things multiple times so that they fit better in your space I had a thrifted light that was actually kind of like a creamish white color but it was too light for my now white wall so I wanted it to be black so I decided to spray paint the base of it black [Music] once that dried I wanted to add like this cool technique you guys can kind of see how I did it here around the base of that in order to achieve this look what I did was I mixed the color Fawn by Waverly some drywall mud and some Epsom salt I was kind of just looking for texture and adding a bunch of stuff together so I mixed those all together thank you then I got a Walmart sack and put it into my mixture and just dabbed it around the base this gave it a little bit of character and a little bit of texture I kept the shade the way it was and just put it onto my new lamp and it's a completely new lamp I love the way it looks this first project I went shopping at one of my favorite stores when it comes to large wall art and that is the restore I get some of the best items here and so I grabbed a piece of plywood you guys this sheet of plywood was only four dollars and I knew it would be perfect for the project I wanted to do first thing I did was put it next to the wall where I wanted to hang it just to kind of get an idea of the size of the wall it was about the size I wanted to but whoever cut this board it wasn't straight so I needed to make some cuts on it so I went ahead and Drew a straight line on both sides of my board so that I could cut it off and make sure I was starting with a nice rectangle before I even started the project then I just used my saw to cut both sides of my board [Music] foreign [Music] for this so I went to Lowe's and bought one by two boards and I think for this project I needed two boards and I'm just going to lay them out around my plywood cut them down to size and then I'll use my saw to cut the boards [Music] [Music] so once I had the frame put together the fun part could start I grabbed some joint compound from Lowe's I also grabbed a trowel and some scrapers so I'm just going to start by adding the joint compound to my board just getting it on the board is gonna take a little bit of time next this is where you want your joint compound to have some nice texture I went in with my scraper and just kind of moved it around made sure I had everything covered but just kind of got that texture that I wanted [Music] are you saying that to change [Music] now you're gonna come in with your trowel and this is in the tile section at Lowe's if you're wondering where you can pick one of these up I just grabbed the most inexpensive one that they had but I wanted to create just some easy formation so I went in and added some fun lines this is just going to give me added texture to my piece oh let your joint compound dry overnight so that it really has a chance to kind of harden up the next day I came in to paint and I think I would have started by painting the whole thing white but I didn't do that I actually came in with a brown color paint that I had and just used my roller to roll on one of the little trowel formations that I created and once I did that I realized no I should have painted the whole thing white so then I came in with a white paint in my brush and added on the paint now these are just sample paints that I had on hand that I'm using for this project you don't need anything fancy you don't need to go out and buy a bunch of paint could we could [Music] change [Music] now once the white dried I came back in with a cream color and added that as well now have fun with this paint it however you want do whatever formation you want like this is the fun part so really make it your own I wanted something really neutral for my living room [Music] now to go back to the border that I had created earlier I initially thought that I wanted to stain it with special Walnut which is a color I had [Music] I didn't really like the color of that then I came in with the color maple and used that as well so I kind of had like a combination of stain for this but ended up going with a lighter stain but for the stain I'm just going to add the stain on and wipe off the excess baby go blind [Music] s Why you wanna let me go then I'm going to take those border pieces and add it around the edges I did walk around the edge and make sure there wasn't any joint compound along the edge that would kind of hinder me from kneeling in the boards I'm going to be using my brad nailer with two Inch Nails to put in the side pieces make sure everything's where I want it and then I'll nail them in place [Music] and here's a look at how this piece turned out now I've seen pieces like this go upwards of 500 online the total cost of my materials was forty three dollars [Music] old accordion organizing I don't know I guess they're called hangers for only 350. these are very in right now I have a couple in my house so I had to pick it up so my idea for this is I went to Walmart and I bought a wood burning tool now I've never used this before so I was kind of experimenting with it on this little board I do recommend doing that you also have to be so careful whenever you're using this because it is super hot so I started on one side just kind of adding in some lines and some dots and I did that nothing too crazy then I decided to have fun and experiment so I changed out the tool and added this little teardrop shape which I thought was pretty cool in the end I think this turned out really cool it's super subtle but I think it looks great [Music] so one of the things I've been seeing on higher insights are these different boxes that you can place on your coffee table to just kind of make a nice Decor piece but they're also functional because you can put remotes or other items in there as well so when I was thrifting I found these really cool wood storage boxes and I was like these are great I have to pick these up now they didn't look alike at all so I knew I was going to have to DIY them to make them work on my coffee table so one way to make two different colors of wood be cohesive is to add a similar paint technique to both of the pieces so I started by adding frog tape to my boxes I did a layer all around the top to create a rectangle that I could paint on the top of the box and I repeated that with both of my boxes I also decided that I was going to paint along the bottom of my boxes so I taped that office as well [Music] now to make the boxes have a cohesive look I did the exact same taping techniques for both of the boxes [Music] then I came in with two coats of Waverly white chalk paint come down [Music] I removed the tape [Music] and as you can see on my coffee table they don't look exactly alike but they definitely coordinate a lot better now that I've added that paint to them and we can also use them for storage for our remotes [Music] thank you so here is some of the glassware at the thrift store what really stood out to me was this piece right here it's two dollars and it has this really cute lid so we're gonna go ahead and pick that up and do a DIY with it this next project is really simple you could probably do it with anything that you already have at your home I'm going to start by just cleaning the jar off and then I'm going to create a fun tassel I'm going to use this Dollar Tree yarn that I already had on hand and I'm going to cut off a long piece that's going to fit around the top of my jar then I grab just a piece of cardboard that I had that was about four inches long and I started wrapping my tassel around till I wrapped it around about 40 40 times I think next I'm going to cut off the bottom and I'm going to take some clear hair ties and I'm going to wrap them around holding in that longer piece that I had to put on my jar and this is just going to hold everything in place then I'm going to take an additional piece of green yarn on the back and I'm just going to wrap it around now this varies depending on the project that I'm doing sometimes I wrap it around a couple sometimes I go like 10 or you know 10 times so it just kind of depends on the look that you're going for for your tassel then hot glue it to the back cut off the excess I like to trim it down so the ends of the tassels are as even as possible I was imagining this in my bathroom I thought it would be great sitting out with cotton balls [Music] here guys this cost me five dollars it's metal at the bottom and then it has a wood top now I've seen similar tables like this sell for ridiculous amounts to DIY it I think I'm going to spray the bottom and then I think I'm going to try to sand down this top and see if maybe I can put a new stain on it it's got a bunch of different stains on it we'll see if we can bring it back to life if not I may have to paint it so let's DIY this table [Applause] so I started by disassembling this five dollar table I just took out three of the screws it was missing the fourth screw foreign I started by working on the base and for the base I just spray painted it with two coats of a flat black spray paint I did One Direction with two coats then I flipped it over and did two more coats for the top I sanded it really well with my orbital sander I used an 80 grit sandpaper so it would take off the Finish really quickly sanded the top as well as the sides I thought maybe I could get away with just doing natural finish but it definitely needed a stain I have this Barrel brown wood stain by Rust-Oleum that I'm going to use I do recommend wearing gloves anytime you stain just because it can stay on your hands for several days I wipe my stain on with a foam brush and then I immediately take it off with a paper towel I like to do the edges first and then I'll come back in and do the top when I'm doing this top I like to work in sections so I'll put a little bit of stain on and then come in and wipe it off because I don't like the stain to sit on there too long the longer it sits the less you're going to see of the wood grain underneath next I'll just let that dry and then I'm going to attach the base back onto the table foreign you would never guess that this table only cost me five dollars [Music] this glass tile how cool is that look at these glass squares you guys they're so pretty they just look very sculptural I'm really drawn to this one so I think I'm gonna get this one I knew I had to come up with an idea for these glass tiles and I thought it would be really pretty to set it out with my sponges on the side of my kitchen sink I also think this would be great in a bathroom it's just such a pretty piece this basket's cool I'm not a fan of the color of it it looks like I bought it for four dollars at the thrift store maybe I got it half off but I don't think I ever did anything with it maybe I need to do a paint technique on it let's try it out so I really wanted this to look like a wall hanging basket so I'm going to start by cutting out a triangle shape template then I'm going to add some painters tape that I can use to put on my basket and I'm just going to trace my template onto the painters tape [Music] next I'll cut out all of the triangles I'm going to place the triangles underneath the edge portion of my basket foreign and then I'll finish it off by taping in the center of the basket I sprayed it with one pretty heavy coat of white spray paint once it had a chance to dry this was kind of the fun part I just pulled it up and here's how I styled it in my bedroom [Music] so I grabbed this wood hanger I know what you're thinking it's missing the little hanging pieces on it which is okay for me because it's already ready to go it's got the hangers on the back I can add the hooks that I want so let's DIY this foreign so I wanted to create a coat hanger this piece I actually got from the Goodwill bins and the dowel rods are from Walmart I'm going to start by painting the piece that I got I'm using milk paint in the color blue moon by General Finishes I really love this paint it's available on Amazon I'll link it for you guys down in the description box but I'm just gonna do one good coat on the entire piece top and bottom [Music] [Music] [Music] I love that Walmart carries these large dial rods so I figured out how far I wanted them to be and I just measured them to four inches [Music] next I'm going to cut my dowel rods down to size and then I wanted some leather pieces to be hanging down so I measured how long I needed the pieces to be and I cut four strips this little silver tool I'm using is actually from Dollar Tree and it's great for measuring items [Music] [Applause] so next I'm going to be using this rotary cutter that's from Dollar Tree too that guys it's great like if you haven't tried it give it a try this is cutting leather here and the leather pieces I got off of Amazon those will be linked below as well [Music] try to turn me into somebody else [Music] so I cut the pieces down a little bit so they fit better on my coat hanger then I came in with my drill and I just drilled holes to the bottom next I'm going to be using some drywall screws that I had on hand and I'm going to put the drywall screws in until they get to the front side so with the leather piece I cut the corners of it and then I hot glued it right underneath where I was going to be screwing in the dowel rod I added a little hole to the bottom side of my dowel rod [Music] I'm going to hold the dowel rod in place and add in the screw and I'll repeat this step with the other three hangers [Music] and here's a look at how it turned out on my wall [Music] maybe I could put it on here and make like a little like Trey or something but I don't love that idea so I guess I could use a candle a canned candlestick no that just looks weird I got it it's an end table or a plant stand I did it okay I love that idea [Music] so this is gonna be my absolute quickest DIY but sometimes you just need a quick DIY I'm going to add some E6000 to the top of this candle stand and you guys this candle stand was one that I actually picked up from a thrift store and spray painted it white I've had it oh gosh it's been in my house now for years and the wood tray that I'm putting on top was also a thrifted item I'm just gonna try to center it up as best I can and I'm gonna let it dry completely before I style anything on it and here's how it looks in my bedroom I love it here with me I love this tray look how big this tray is oh my God this is huge I definitely think this would be a great coffee table tray excited about the tray and how big it was so I decided to use ink by Waverly and I'm going to come in and just do one coat I'm going to be painting the outside edges because I'm going to put something down in the middle foreign [Music] [Music] the last time I was shopping at Ikea I found this really awesome rug and I'm going to be using that as the base to my tray so I'm going to start by just cutting off all that Fringe because I don't want to use that foreign next I'll cut off the edge wherever like the white thread is holding it in place and then I'm simply going to measure how long I want it to be I want it to fit perfectly into my tray so I'll measure and cut I'm going to repeat those steps on the opposite side as well foreign now to attach the rug I'm just going to Simply use some hot glue and push it down in place now to cover up the frayed edges on the side I went through and pulled off some pieces of yarn and I'm simply going to hot glue those down just to create a border whenever you do this make sure you don't add too much hot glue otherwise you're going to see the hot glue along the edge so you just want a little bit of hot glue and it finishes off the edges really nicely and I love the way that this tray turned out I think it looks so nice sitting out with some Decor that I had around my house [Music] when I was at the restore I always like to look in the cabinet section because there's always cool drawers or cabinet doors and I found this set of three cabinet doors that I just thought wow these are like in perfect condition and wouldn't these make a great grouping of wall art so I went ahead and grabbed the three doors they were two dollars each so I ended up spending six dollars for these three cabinet doors they were wood they're going to be great for my project foreign [Music] so my idea for this was I wanted to paint them in a formation that would make a really cool like grouping of three hanging on the wall so I painted all three of them with the color Nomadic Desert I'm just gonna use a roller to put the paint on you could also use a brush as well [Music] once that completely dries I'm going to take the color Fawn by Waverly which is like a brown color and I'm going to mix it in with that Nomadic Desert color to learn [Music] then I'm gonna take a brush and I'm going to create a wave pattern along the bottom Edge there and I'm going to do this across all three of my boards making sure that they all are about the same height and then I'm going to paint the bottom half with that Fawn color to the Midnight Radio [Music] [Music] we can drive through the night sing along to the Midnight Radio next I'm going to repeat this same thing by adding black to my paint and then I'll create another wave pattern at the bottom filling in the bottom portion with that black color now you want to make sure you cover everything really well I only did one coat of paint and that seemed to be enough foreign [Music] had a chance to dry I styled them on my dresser and you guys I had all this pigged on hand so my cost for this project was only six dollars I'm always a sucker for like a little 10 when I go to the thrift store I just really liked the shape of it but I definitely wanted to add to it so what I decided to do was get some of my plaster of Paris I bought a big container of this on Amazon I'll link it below for you and it lasts forever so if you get some of this you'll definitely have it forever I've done a ton of projects with it so you just want to mix it with a little bit of water until you get like a paste consistency I'm going to use gloves because I'm going to come in and actually use the gloves to put the plaster onto my container and I want this to have a really old look so I'm just going to be smearing the plaster around the edges now I'm not concerned to cover the entire piece in fact I still want some of the original piece to show through but it's just going to give it a really rough look next I'm going to come in and paint the piece so I'm going to be using Waverly white chalk paint and this is just going to be just a fun personal preference kind of piece where I'm just painting it white I felt like it needed a little bit of black and whenever I I'm like layering colors like this I always just kind of build as I'm going so I'm going to add some black around the edges [Music] so I also had some gold paint that I decided to paint the handles and I wanted the handles to be kind of a really prominent gold so I used a more detailed brush to paint those gold I did mute the gold down a little bit by mixing it with the black and then I'm just going to add in colors until I like the way it looks and here's how this planter turned out [Music] I kind of like this clock what do you think this was down here it looks like there was like a plaque on there I wish it didn't have that because I feel like that would be like a cool clock sitting out I feel like we were looking for a clock like this the last time we were thrifting but I can't remember why three dollars I bet I could put something over this I like the wood of it though like I feel like that would be cute sitting out or cut it too [Applause] like you could definitely put something where that where a plaque used to be we could put something cool there maybe I could make my own plaque oh yeah like maybe I could be like world's best mom play let's get it and see what we can think of okay I think we're gonna get it so I removed the clock portion to start with then I sanded down around where the holes were [Music] I knew I was gonna have to try some different things so I decided to use wood filler to start with to fill the holes I filled the holes with wood filler but after it dried I realized that it really didn't cover these holes so I knew I was going to have to do something additional [Music] I wanted the clock to have a really matte finish to it so I knew that I was going to sand it with my orbital sander so I just used 80 grit sandpaper with my orbital sander so I just sanded it until I got all of the stain and glossy finish off now with this piece there was some kind of weird edges so I had to come in with my Dremel tool I'll link this for you guys down in the description box as well as my orbital sander just to get into some of those areas that are harder to sand if you don't have this tool you can always use just a hand sander I had some of this faux suede on hand and I thought it would look cool if I hot glued that at over these holes because I needed to cover the holes and then I just added hot glue to the back [Music] for the clock face I didn't do anything to it I just kept it the way it was and added it back into the clock piece these little clocks are so great in groupings or they're awesome to sit out on your nightstand need only you here with me you guys are probably thinking Liz you spent a hundred dollars on these Ottomans nope I found them at the thrift store you're not gonna believe it they were only 13 each I thought that was such a great deal now they didn't look great they were kind of this red leather and they had these weird covers on them but it was nice that they had the covers on them because I thought I would use these covers as a template to recover myself so I went to Joann's I grabbed some fabric that was pretty inexpensive I picked up three yards of that fabric foreign so with my template it was actually in three pieces so there was one long piece that basically measured the side the top of it and then the other side so I measured the template I added one inch to either side just so I had room for my edging so I cut out two long pieces since I was making two of these I also measured the side pieces and I cut four of those pieces each ottoman only had three pieces of fabric that I had to cut out [Music] now the next step I really think is important is you want to go through and press all your fabric before you start sewing it you can use an iron with this I was at my office and I actually had my press there but you don't need anything fancy like that [Music] foreign [Music] makes a ton of difference and that's whenever you press your seams whenever you do this it's going to make your sewing so much easier and it's going to look so much nicer so I went ahead and pressed a seam on all of the pieces from there all you have to do is put your right side pieces together and then you're going to pin them in place and then you just have to sew around the three sides foreign [Music] [Music] now once I got those two side panels onto my long piece all I had to do from there was turn it right side out and I put it onto my ottoman luckily it fit then I just needed to finish off the bottom and I found that to be easier once it was already on the ottoman so I put it on the Ottoman and then I just tucked underneath the edges so it was as straight as possible I pinned that in place and then I went ahead and pulled it off and sewed around the edges foreign the Lakes had gotten a little wear and tear to them so I just added in some dark stain to freshen them up and then I just put my slip covers back on and I think they look like 100 ottomans [Music] so when Delaney and I both saw this basket we were like oh that basket love the shape of it it's a really fun long basket I think this would look great styled on my dining room table for the basket I just laid in some stems that I had from Target I absolutely love this set of prints these would be so pretty sitting out on a shelf two dollars for each we're grabbing these I'll show you guys how I style these whenever I'm adding Decor in my kitchen it's great to Anchor all that decor with a tray this is one that I had on hand I'm gonna Place those two prints on the tray and then I'm also going to add some Greenery that just really finishes off any look and a few Decor pieces I already had on hand [Music] I love shopping at the thrift store and Furniture is one of those great items to find at the thrift store not only can you find high quality wood pieces but the pieces are just really inexpensive so I was so excited to find this coffee table you guys know that this like bevel detail is so in right now it's so popular so when I saw it on a coffee table at the thrift store I was excited and you won't believe how much it was it was only twelve dollars so I picked it up right away so the first thing I like to do with any thrifted piece is actually put it in the space to visualize how it's going to look in my space and to determine like what color I want it to be and all of those things so I put the coffee table in my living room I realized once I put it in there it fits as far as like width but it was way too high so I needed to cut off five inches from this coffee table so we measured each of the coffee table legs and cut off five inches from the bottom I love using a product like chalk paint whenever I'm going to be painting something that's high traffic and that's going to get a lot of wear and tear I'm using two coats of ink by Waverly on the entire coffee table [Music] [Music] I also used a roller brush on the top to just give it a really smooth finish now if you only had a brush that would work as well but I think it really helped to make a nice clean finish on the top once it has a chance to dry on things that are going to get a lot of wear and tear I know my kids are going to have their feet on here I wanted to make it nice and sealed so I'm going to be using a water-based sealer on the entire coffee table [Music] coats on this coffee table to make it really protected normally I only do one but on something as high traffic as a coffee table I wanted to add an additional coat [Music] so you guys remember those little five inches of legs that I cut off well I tell you that I love using everything and when I saw these I'm like these would make a really cool little stand for the coffee table I took those legs as well as a wood tray that I had that I had thrifted a while back I created a little pedestal just by configuring them so that they all fit together I used some E6000 to glue them to the tray next I'm going to paint the pedestal with two coats of a bare chalk paint I let each coat dry in between next I went in and styled these pieces on my new coffee table foreign Ed out and this all started with a 12 coffee table [Music] always looking for organization containers I really love this container here this wire container I have a great organization idea for it [Music] so I'm going to start by spray painting this wire container with a white matte spray paint I'm going to do one coat flip it over and then I'll do a second coat as well my idea for this piece is to use it in a bathroom to store hot curling irons or a blow dryer that you don't want to put back in your cabinet and you need somewhere to store them that's why I have this metal piece so you can pick up Command hooks off of Amazon and then simply put this wire basket on the Command hooks you can have your curling iron in there and this is a great renter friendly option [Music] so one of the things you guys did see was we got this big I don't even know what you call these things they're like a fake book that you can use I love having these out on my coffee table because I can you know put remotes in there or anything that I want to hide this would also be great in this larger size for an office you can find these anywhere so let's DIY this foreign [Music] I started by painting the interior with the color blue moon it's a milk paint color that I get off of Amazon I ended up only needing one coat for this [Music] cover the outside with a thicker paper so I decided that wallpaper would probably be my best option I had this wallpaper that you guys may remember I used it in my RV renovation and it's thicker and I thought it would work great because it's a peel and stick wallpaper so I cut it down to size and I'm just going to start by putting it on one side of my book I wrapped the edges around and the stickiness of the wallpaper wasn't enough to stick down so I added in some additional hot glue [Music] I cut off another sheet of wallpaper lined it up and put it onto the back of the book [Music] before wrapping it I cut off any excess then I came in with some touch up paint to put around the edges [Music] I think this could be cool if I restained it a little bit I really don't even think I would sand it down just stain it as it is how much is it only a dollar only a dollar amazing you really don't have to spend a lot of money to get a nice frame I'm going to be using the color special Walnut on this Frame once I remove all the contents I'm just going to do one layer of stain on here [Music] I'm going to wipe off any excess with a paper towel this took me a couple of minutes to do and this Frame now looks brand new I have a print of my family that I'm going to be putting in here and I cannot believe how inexpensive this was this would also make a great gift [Music] foreign [Music] I don't know it's a little awkward but I also love the wood on it I feel like this would make a good DIY we'll see you guys I had no idea what I was gonna do with this tray but I started to deconstruct it and pull off all the parts once I had them pulled off then I just kind of started messing with them kind of putting different formations together seeing what I liked in the end I just love the wood of this and I really wanted to make like a tray for Decor I didn't really like the beads too much on it so I took all of those off and then that left some like white areas underneath the beads so I went through and used just my hand sander to get it down to that natural wood color [Music] and then I used a construction adhesive style glue to attach the base to the top portion I use this tray to style some Christmas decor [Music] foreign I think it would be really pretty in a bathroom it's four dollars but I'm probably gonna paint it what do you think let's do it let's do it should we get it is it worth four dollars let us know in the comments what you guys think let us know if you think it's worth it all right we're gonna get it I love this little dish and I wanted to spray paint it I've actually been liking this spray paint by Krylon it's called sea glass essentially what it is is a spray paint that you can see through so I grabbed this one in the Amber shade and I'm just gonna spray one coat on the front as well as the back and here's how the dish turned out these little dishes are great to set out to collect Keys Jewelry or just a pretty dish to have [Music] every time I shop at the thrift store I always check the frames you can get such great deals on frames and create your own artwork or you can put in pictures or whatever you want to do the thrift store is definitely the way to go for frames I found this really cute frame that I'm going to pick it up for an art project so I started by spray painting the frame with a flat black spray paint [Music] once that had a chance to dry I came back in with just some gold enamel paint I'm going to use this enamel paint as a highlight so I'm simply going to brush it around to the edges of my piece and then I'm going to come back in and wipe it off with a paper towel I don't want to have too much gold paint I just want it to be a really subtle highlight so I really wanted to do a joint compound wall art so I grabbed a piece of foam poured from Dollar Tree then I drew a line with a pencil to Mark where the frame sat [Music] then I used some painters tape to Mark out where the edges would be so that I had a nice crisp line when it came to my wood filler so this was my first time doing a project like this so I did experiment with it now I went with a wood filler over like a plaster because I felt like the wood filler might be a lot stronger the problem is it was a little too thick so I actually had to come in with some water and mix some water with it once I did that it was a lot more easy to manage and move the putty around the other problem with using this nail filler is it wasn't white it didn't dry white and so I did have to paint it with multiple colors so I think if I was going to do it again I would probably use a plaster so I'm just trying to get it smoothed out next I just made a fun pattern with a putty knife just to give it a little bit more texture [Music] then I came in and I removed the painters tape the reason I added the painters tape was to give me a nice crisp line around the edges and I definitely like the look of that so I would repeat that in the future now I gave this 24 hours to dry then I came back in with a matte spray paint and I ended up doing I believe three coats to get this completely White foreign to attach it I'm just going to hot glue it to my frame and I love how this turned out I put it with some other accessories in my hallway and I just think it looks great you'll have to let me know in the comments what you think of this I know it's going to be controversial but let me know so they stood out with all of their new items that stuff they haven't put out yet so usually I find some good stuff so let's go check it out these are full oh those are nice it's like all wood items which I love [Music] oh is it a coat hanger yeah it's like a coat hanger salt and pepper oh my gosh what is you need like a salt it's a salt and pepper gavels I mean I feel like do we need this guys let us know in the comments different wooden stands I have this area where I have all of my cutting boards hung up I feel like these would look really cool on there maybe we should get the salt and pepper I kind of think it's hilarious I feel like we should style these with them how much are these six dollars for both I don't know guys what do you think Salt and Pepper or the Wooden Spoons we're going salt and pepper they're more unique foreign [Music] I love this cute little magazine rack there's so many fun DIYs you can do with these I've been looking for one of these magazine holders for a while so I was really excited to find it I started just by cleaning it up then I went through and tightened all of the screws on it because they had definitely come loose so next I decided that I wanted to paint this so I'm going to do two coats of just a Waverly white chalk paint now whenever you're painting something like this with a lot of different you know angles and stuff it does take a while so I like to use about a two inch brush for jobs like this [Music] I wanted to create a stencil to put on the front of this so I went into my Cricut and found these really pretty flowers I sized them down to be the size that would fit on the front of my magazine holder and then I used some of cricut's removable vinyl and I cut out the outer portion of this stencil and then I went through pulled out the inner portion because I don't need that portion because I just want the outline for a stencil then I'm going to peel my stencil off and I'm going to put it on the front portion of my magazine holder and I'm going to repeat that with the other stencil on the other side I like that they're a little bit different but I think they go well together tell them [Music] then I'm going to use a color called Fawn which I've been loving Lately by Waverly and I'm just gonna do one light coat and then I'll remove the stencil the thing I love about these is they're really versatile I mean you can definitely put books in there you could put magazines other great options would be to put towels in it in your bathroom you could also organize shoes like if you wanted to put it right by your front door there's just a lot of great options for these so if you see one of these at your thrift store I definitely recommend picking it up [Music] thank you so my absolute favorite section at the thrift store is the wood section I always find something here that I could take and DIY this store has like a whole aisle of it so let's see what we can find oh I don't know about this it's like a wood box but I don't I don't like that it says Good Earth on it I think that's like a tea box this is kind of cool it's like a little organizer I love the shape of that yeah this would be great for like makeup palettes I could also put like maybe iPads cell phones to charge in here we're gonna grab this the thrift store is definitely where it's at for saving money on organization this two dollar piece is great for organizing devices in my kitchen this is a wooden trivet that's pretty cool this would be cute sitting out maybe just to put like a house plant on it would provide a little bit of texture and just something interesting it's a little bit different something you couldn't pick up at a you know regular store I'm gonna grab that I think that's cool [Music] thank you this is another thrifted base now this one I picked up this tag is still honored you guys it was four dollars but it was a little scuffed up so I decided to add some gray and brown paint to the outside of it I wiped off any excess and it totally refreshed this vase you would never tell that it had any scuffs on it at all I also thrifted this little gold hammered piece this is so popular right now this piece is so in and I'm just going to add it in a grouping of three because things always look better when you have three five odd numbers so just keep that in mind oh I love this little bowl for a dollar fifty definitely needs some work but I think we could bring it back to life so I'm going to start by sanding this bowl there was some black marks on it so I wanted to make sure I got off most of the black marks before I continued [Music] I also went to Hobby Lobby and grabbed a fine tip paint pen I didn't have one that was a fine tip so I wanted something that was a fine tip for this project I also grabbed one in white for this bowl I wanted to add some fun geometric shapes nothing too difficult so I started by just adding a row of x's across this bowl and this paint pen worked perfectly for this project then I just had fun with it I went in and added some squares and then I put some triangles on top and created some lines did some more different geometric patterns and I kept adding until I liked the way it looked and enjoyed the final look and in the end this was just like really quick and fun project to do and I love the way it turned out [Music] my crafting area after the fall and Christmas season is a wreck it took me a whole day of cleaning it just to kind of get it back to where I could actually like work in it and I went through all of my craft supplies and was like kind of figuring out what I wanted to get rid of and one of the things I found was this globe I probably thrifted this maybe nine months to a year ago and I never did anything with it and I knew I had to do a project with it so I started by spraying it completely black you may have seen this in some high-end stores and globes are a great thing to find at the thrift store [Music] when I was shopping at Dollar Tree I also noticed that they had a bunch of new stickers out so next time you go to Dollar Tree make sure you check that sticker section and I found these I thought they would work perfect for my Globe so I'm just going to take them off and put them on my Globe I think I ended up adding four I just wanted them to be kind of a subtle accent around the edges [Music] and here's how my Globe turned out styled [Music] there was also a bin that had a bunch of books in it so I found these books mainly I love the color of them I loved how they were kind of worn around the edges you can use books to really Elevate any Decor or style Decor in your home so I grabbed five of these I think they charged me a dollar for all five books because she said they were a set which is wild so let me show you how I style these [Music] foreign [Music] look at this side table y'all oh my gosh I'm losing my mind right now oh my gosh it's got like the opening the 70s over it is it a fake door oh no oh thirty dollars yes we're getting it it's in like really good shape I don't even know if I'll do anything with it all right this is coming home with us [Laughter] I'm worried about all the grass where we bought I love the shape of this round table and I actually wanted to sand it down but it's so cold where I'm at that I knew I was gonna have to wait to do that but honestly when I put it in my room I kind of like the dark stain to it so you guys are gonna have to let me know do you like the dark stain or should I sand it let me know down in the comments foreign [Music] there's like a smaller size so I'm wondering if I got this and maybe a smaller one and I found something to make a little tray that would be so pretty I'm gonna go to the candle section and see if I can find something to make like a good base in between the two plates foreign [Music] I love putting together a tray because it's such a quick and easy DIY so I'm going to add some E6000 to the bottom half of my glass and then I'll put some on the top as well and then add the smaller plate I'm going to let this completely dry and this is a gorgeous tray that I put together [Music] what can we do with this phase it's kind of interesting I've had this now for several years but it's been down here okay let's see if we have a plant that we could put in it there's these here let's look down here okay oh this one you guys this is my favorite plant from Ikea I buy it all the time that would be kind of cute okay we're gonna update this planter yay so I'm going to start by taping off the lower third of this planter and I wasn't really worried about it being a straight line I wanted the line to actually be kind of curving around next I'm going to cover the top portion with some craft paper because I wanted the top to remain White [Music] for this next portion you're going to need a bowl some gloves and something to stir everything with I also picked up some concrete at Lowe's so I'm going to add some concrete to my bowl and I'm also going to mix it with water now I never measure this I just kind of mix water with the concrete until it's at more of like a pudding consistency then I like to go in with a foam brush and just paint all over the bottom portion now I usually let this dry for several hours then I'm going to come in and add in some more concrete and you can make it look globby I honestly think it looks better when it's a little globby and I'll let that dry completely then I'm going to remove the painters tape you will get some of the concrete that was on top of the painters tape coming off whenever you're pulling off the tape but that's okay and then I'm just going to style it with that plant that I found in the basement one dollar so cute how much is that one dollar it was meant for you you have to get it yeah we could put it on the background in the office yeah that'd be perfect I love all of these you guys these can be really pricey and to get them for a dollar or two great price [Music] thank you I just found this basket you guys know this is one of those baskets you would buy at Target for about 20 25 and again I spent 18.80 for everything that I'm showing you this basket is gonna be great for organization at my house [Music] thank you one of the things you guys asked me to do with thrifting is find common items that you can find at your local thrift store and show you how to use them well one of the things there's so much of at the thrift store is glassware and jars if you can find a similar set of jars you want to pick it up I was able to find these five jars for only a dollar these make great centerpieces for a really inexpensive price so we started by adding some frog tape to the bottom of them because I wanted to paint the bases of them now when you're doing a centerpiece like this where all of your glass jars are going to be right next to each other you want to make sure that your tape lines up as perfectly as possible so lay all your jars out and just really try to get it as even as possible now to make this process go faster I was going to spray the bottoms of them so you're going to have to cover the top so I just wrapped some craft paper use whatever you have on hand to cover up the top layer [Music] next I spray painted the bases with two coats of a hunter green spray paint [Music] once that completely dried I removed the tape and the paper you could do so much with these I filled mine with some sprigs that I picked up at Target I think these look great sitting out in a grouping and they were so inexpensive [Music] I really like this one and I have a great DIY option so I'm gonna grab this one it is 3.99 project is inspired by all of the concrete clocks that I've been seeing lately and I wanted to create my own so I'm just going to start by unscrewing all of the components I wasn't really sure you know what I was getting into but basically there was three layers of screws that I had to remove but it was no big deal way Bonnie and Clyde a classic cliche I separated all the pieces and I even unscrewed the glass that was in the front of the clock I'm also going to be removing the clock hands now to start this off I'm going to be using quick crease I just have a tiny bit left so I didn't need a lot for this project so I'm going to mix some quick crate that you can buy at Home Depot Lowe's anywhere with a little bit of water you want this to be like a thick pudding consistency then I'm going to start by just taking that Quick Crete and I'm going to put it directly onto the clock face [Music] I'm going to use a foam brush to spread the quick create around and I'll just let that dry with the outer portion of my clock I'm going to paint it with two coats of ink by Waverly [Music] once the concrete had a chance to dry I'm going to add the clock hands back on then I will put the outer portion on as well and screw that back in place and here's a look at how this clock turned out [Music] frames one of them's put together what one of them's not is a frame that's where these are set or you just maybe they look it looks like something I thought you could use okay I can't do something with this yeah what you got it what's that I think you can hold a candle with it baby I mean it's actually kind of cool I feel like I could do something with this this is two dollars I feel like it was a lampshade Maybe I don't know what section did you buy it in Home home decor I don't know why somebody got rid of it I tried to give you 80. I'm in my craft room now trying to figure out what to do with these items now this picture frame is pretty easy I think I can come up with something for a picture frame but I was looking at this lamp shade and it's metal so I'm wondering if I can cut off one of these rings and place it on the top of here like you guys know I don't know if you see those picture frames that have a little ring at the top and then maybe I can spray paint it all black and find a cool picture to go in there so I think that's my plan for this we'll see if it comes out I don't know if I can pull these rings off I don't know how secure they are so I'm going to try that so I went in with my angle grinder to get one of these little circles knocked off of here and then I filed it down so it was nice and perfect next I came in with one of the frames I went with the one that was actually put together and I decided to make a poster that I could put behind it so I just used some poster board from Dollar Tree and cut it out I thought about purchasing art but I was like you know what I can make my own so I used some painters tape put it slanted and used the color Fawn and did one coat on top of it once that had a chance to dry I came in with an ivory color and then on the top portion I came in with a dark blue color called rainstorm by Sherwin-Williams [Music] next I spray painted the frame and the little ring that I cut out with flat black spray paint I did two coats I hot glued the picture that I created to the back of my frame and then I hot glued the ring at the top [Music] and here's a look at how this turned out [Music] this item didn't have a price tag on it and I really had to negotiate with the store owner to get me to to allow me to buy this but here it is it's a scooper I mean it's got like it's got feet on the bottom and a handle on the top it's her scooping grain I think yeah okay so no ID on this one so we're gonna have to think on that one so initially I saw like flowers in here but you know that might be too obvious so I'm wondering if we flip it like this and put like a hook on it if we could use it for mail so we just started by cleaning up the piece before I started doing any kind of painting next I determined how big I could make the word mail on my Cricut Joy then I went into my Cricut and typed in the word mail I sized the letters down so that they were all connected and then I moved it so it was the right size for my project next I sent it to my Cricut joy and I used some white vinyl to cut it out [Music] I'm going to weed out the excess vinyl I'm also going to use transfer tape to put it onto my I guess metal container whatever this is [Music] next I'm going to add painters tape All Around The Edge underneath the word mail and I'm going to paint the bottom with the color Moss by Waverly I'm going to do two coats [Music] I added in some nautical rope at the top as a hanger and this is perfect to hang up and store all of your mail [Music] and for some reason they have all this Ethan Allen Disney stuff so these are like little wall Disney containers that they have it looks like they're selling them for ten dollars a really cool glass bar how much is that 15 we're gonna get this space and probably style it I'm not sure how much this vase costs you guys but the glass was so heavy and such great quality I thought about painting it but in the end I couldn't do it because it was just so nice I found some stems at Hobby Lobby that I wanted to put in this vase so I put the face out in my living room and I'm just gonna display three of these stems and I just think it's so gorgeous I love this face so much [Music] you know let me be easy just to let it go [Music]
