a very common item that I find at my thrift stores are bases I found this face it is not a looker you guys uh it definitely needs to make over I am not in love with the olive tone and the pattern on it just isn't really my style but I did love the size and the shape so we're going to spruce up this space by changing the color and adding a very unique detail to it so first we are going to repaint it and I'm going to be using some white gloss or stelline spray paint I took my vase outside and I sprayed it in this white gloss or sodium spray paint I sprayed around the entire base to make sure that all of the lovely olive green was covered up and you can only see white once it was completely saturated in the paint I let it dry for three hours I wanted to create a 3D detail to put on my base while I was at Hobby Lobby I decided to wander around as one often might do when they're at Hobby Lobby and I ended up down the baking aisle and I came across these silicone molds that are used for cakes I loved the floral detail on it and I knew that they would be a perfect mold for me to create a 3D detail I'm going to create my 3D flowers out of some hot glue so I got my hot glue gun and I added this hot glue right into the molds I'm going to show that all the petals and the center of the mold was filled up with hot glue I created two of these flowers once I filled them with the hot glue I let them solidify which took about 30 minutes now I can just pop them right out because they're in these silicone molds they come out extremely easily amazing what you can create with hot glue so now that my flowers are made I need some leaves so I liked these petals that were on a different flower so I got my hot glue and I filled these petal molds with the hot glue once they were filled up I let them solidify again for about 30 minutes and then I just popped them right out of the molds because these flowers and petals are made out of hot glue they're semi-transparent so you can't really see them very well so we're going to paint them I'm going to start off with a neutral backdrop so we're going to paint them in the same white gloss or stalling spray paint that we painted our base in so I took them outside and I sprayed them in this paint made sure that they were a hundred percent coated in the paint and then I let them dry for two hours now that they're painted you can actually see more of the detail that are on these flowers so to enhance that detail just a little bit more I'm going to add some gold highlights I have this champagne metallic gold that I purchased at Michael's I'm going to paint this champagne gold color on the inside of my flowers right in the center and the center detail and then I'm going to paint around the edges doing this outlines the shape of the flowers it will also make the flowers pop against the white base we don't want it to blend in we want them to be the highlight of this base once my flowers were painted I moved on to the leaves and the leaves I just painted completely in this champagne paint I just wanted them to be completely gold once the flowers and the leaves were painted I let them dry for a few hours to attach my flowers and my leaves to my base again I'm just going to be using hot glue so I added some hot glue to the back of the flowers first I made sure that it was completely covered in this hot glue and then I pressed it onto my base I held it there for about 10 seconds to make sure that it cooled down and stuck really well to the base so once my flowers were in place I moved on to the leaves I added the hot glue to the back of the leaves and placed them on my base now my base is completely done and I love the way that it looks it's so unique it's so special it looks very expensive and the detail on it just makes it one of a kind now of course inside of our vase we're going to add some flowers I got these light pastel green leaves and I placed them in the vase and then I also got some light pink stems and I put them in the vase as well how pretty is this you guys this is such a beautiful vase especially for this time of year spring summer these are beautiful light bright flowers the detail on these flowers it's just so pretty it's just so unique and we did it with hot glue you guys how crazy is that the hot glue could make beautiful flowers like these we didn't spend hardly any money on the hot glue and just a little bit of paint and it just makes this piece one of a kind so here's what our thrifted base looked like before we transformed it and here's what it looks like now thank you one of my favorite places to rummage through my thrift store is the dish aisle it's like a treasure hunt I find so many good things there well this week I found this beautiful white milk glass bowl with a gold rim has some really nice raised detail on the bottom of the bowl it was in great condition and it was only a 3.99 so what we're going to do with this bowl is we're going to transform it into a candle yes a candle and it's so easy to do I already have my container which is going to be my bowl so now I just need the wax so I headed over to the Dollar Tree they have plain white candles I picked up three of them I'm using white wax for my candle but they have a variety of different colored wax candles so you can pick a color that's best for you we're going to melt down the wax into a liquid so what I did was I got a pot and I filled it three quarters of the way full of water and I brought it to a low boil then I added my candles to the water the boiling water will begin to melt the solid wax into a liquid I started off with my two candles but then I kind of did an eyeball measurement and I realized that I needed more wax so I took my third candle and I put that in the pot as well my advice to you is to melt down a little more wax than you think you need because having extra is better than not having enough so once my wax have been melted down into a liquid I pulled out the wick this is great that these candles come with a wick that way you don't even have to go out and buy anything else you just use the one that's already in there so I transferred this Wick over to my bowl and to hold it in place I got a wooden skewer and I took that excess Wick and I wrapped it around the skewer I did that with the three Wicks the skewers will hold the wick in place as the wax solidifies now that my wax is completely melted it's time to transfer it into my bowl I got a hot pad and I slowly removed the glass bottle out of the boiling water you're going to want to be very careful at this point to make sure you use a hot pad and I put my bowl on top of a placemat just in case the wax spills the wax the water and the glass is all very hot so take precautions because you do not want to get burned so I just continued pouring the wax into my bowl I continued pouring the wax into my bowl with the remaining two cylinders of melted wax now that the wax has been transferred into my bowl I'm going to let it solidify for a total of four hours after four hours the wax is going to look like this smooth solid just like a candle should look at this point I pulled the wick off of the wooden skewer and I trimmed it down to size with a pair of sharp scissors [Music] that's it we are completely done wasn't that a piece of cake but oh boy look at how pretty this candle is and not only is it gorgeous we saved ourselves so much money I don't know if you've priced out large candles like this especially in decorables but they can get so expensive by making our own we saved a ton of money I found this at a thrift store it is a lovely Brown urn it's chipped in some places it's dirty it's dusty and the color is way too dark but I love the size and the shape and the detailing on it is beautiful the first thing we need to do is wash it really good and then now I took it outside we're going to spray paint it in some white Gloucester stallion spray paint we want it to be neutral so we're painting it white once it was completely painted I let it dry for one hour hydro dipping is one of my favorite techniques because you always get a one-of-a-kind Unique Piece that's what we're going to be doing in order to get the marbling on our urn so what I did was I got a big plastic storage container and I lined it with a contractor's garbage bag then I filled it up almost to the top with water then I selected three spray paints I chose a white a gold and a silver what I do with my paint is I alternate spraying it in the water I started with the whites then moved on to the gold and the silver and I just alternated these pink colors creating a bullseye in the water you can see as we do this technique that it begins to make a marble design once I had enough paint in my water I took burn and I dipped it into the water now this paint will just cling right to your piece you can swirl it around just a little bit once the paint was on my urn I pulled it out of the water [Music] then I repeated this process again I did the paint I just alternated the colors once I was satisfied with the amount of paint in the water I dipped the second side of the urn into the paint and the water again this paint just clings to the piece I pulled it out I love the way that it looks it looks just like marble oh my goodness what a beautiful technique there's no way I could have gotten this design Style by painting it myself this hydro dipping technique makes this urn look just like it's Marble it's high-end and classy now at this point you're going to let this dry for several hours and what I'm gonna do with mine now that it's dry is I'm going to add some flowers to it I just got a few Bunches of peonies I bent the stems and I just placed them inside of my Urn to finish off the look [Music] thank you foreign look it has a lovely Scenic picture of a pheasant in a field this would be fantastic at a hunting lodge but it's not really working for me but what is working for me is the octagonal shape of the tray and the size is perfect the price is also great at 3.99 I think our first move is to change the color of this tray so I'm going to wipe it down and make sure it's really clean I don't know how long it's been at the thrift store or what is on it so we want to make sure that it's really clean so that the paint adheres really well to the tray I took my tray outside and I sprayed it in some white gloss or stellium spray paint I spray the entire tray and said goodbye to our pheasants I wanted to make sure everything was covered completely in the white paint I did two coats of paint once the first coat was dry I painted a second coat and then let it dry overnight because we said goodbye to our pheasants and Landscape I want to replace the bottom of the tray I found a gift bag at Ross it's a set of two and the gift bag that we're going to be using is the white bag with the gold roses now the reason why I'm using a gift bag instead of let's say scrapbook paper or wrapping paper or some other thinner material is because that there is an indentation in the tray where that original design is so when I go to mod podge my paper onto the tray if it was too thin you'd still be able to see those bumps and grooves so the gift bag being thicker will smooth everything out and make it look like one flat surface the first step is to take apart the bag I simply pulled it apart at the seams where it was glued together then I flattened it out thank you next I put my tray on top of the gift bag and then I traced around it with a pencil then I measured the thickness of the tray walls which was a quarter inch and came in a quarter inch on my octagonal template I used my ruler and pencil to trace out the correct size I place my gift bag on top of a self-healing mat and then I got out my Cricut rotary cutter the rotary cutter is fantastic for this project because it's going to give me a straight cut on each side once I cut out my octagon I did a quick dry fit to see if the Octagon would fit inside my tray and luckily it fit in there perfectly to adhere the gift bag octagon to the bottom of the tray I'm going to be using some Mod Podge I got a sponge brush and the mod podge and I added a liberal amount to the bottom of the tray I made sure that each part of the base in the tray was completely covered in the Mod Podge especially in the corners because I want the corners and edges of my paper to adhere really well to the tray next I took my gift bag octagon and I placed it in the center of my tray then I took my large Cricut scraper and I pressed out all of the air bubbles you can also use a kitchen scraper or a credit card for this step you just want to make sure that all those bubbles are pressed out from underneath the paper by removing the air trapped underneath your surface will be smooth and flat I waited about 20 minutes for this first layer of mod podge to dry and then I came back and I added a top layer of mod podge again I added a generous amount to make sure that each part of the paper was covered in the Mod Podge once everything was covered I let it dry for several hours Trace stunning what a transformation it started out in pretty questionable shape but by simply painting it white and adding a new updated surface to the bottom of the tray it makes it look brand new we are in my dining room and it is undergoing a transformation I'm not going to show you the whole thing but we have got a whole lot of moving Parts going into space I'm really excited to transform it my current project is working on this Arch Alcove right here now originally it had some dark paint and I placed in an oil painting which I really loved but it was a little darker I wanted something that would brighten up this space and I knew that a mirror would be a perfect solution so I began my search I looked online I looked in stores I looked on Facebook marketplace with no success zero I could not find something that was this size in my style and also in my price range so as a last ditch effort I decided to go to my thrift store I went and I found this mirror behind a couple of other knickknacks and other mirrors and it was perfect the perfect size there was minimal damage to it and as you can see that Rice was only forty dollars definite score so I scooped it up I brought it home and now I'm going to transform it the first thing that I had to do was address the Nicks and the scratches and the dings now there weren't too many on this particular mirror but I thought it necessary to sand down those raised edges where the scrapes were and really clean it up I washed it really thoroughly and dried it the reason why I do that is because the paint will adhere better to the frame if it's a clean dry surface so next I need to protect the actual mirror itself I ran out of butcher paper so I needed a solution and guess what playing old wrapping paper is going to do the trick so I got everyday wrapping paper and I placed it over the top of my mirror and then I also got some blue painters tape and I taped along the edges now that my mirror is prepped and ready for paint I took it outside and I decided to use this Rust-Oleum spray paint it is a by the name a metallic warm gold I haven't used this color before I wanted to give it a shot I liked it because it's more of a champagne color and not a bright gold which is going to be perfect in this dining room so I began to spray my mirror frame in this paint I made sure that each part of the frame was evenly covered in the spray paint I got inside the mirror and on the outside in all the divots and intricate design detail once I was finished with the first coat I let it dry for one hour and then I came back and I did the exact same thing I sprayed each part of the frame in the spray paint I made sure it was even and completely coated and then I let it dry completely which took two hours now that it's dry I can bring it back inside and I removed that wrapping paper and blue painters tape to reveal a brand new mirror simply clean it up and giving the frame a Fresh coat of paint completely transformed it this mirror is pretty stunning if I do say so myself and it looks like I spent hundreds of dollars which you guys know I would not do so I just spent the forty dollars on the mirror and the cost of spray paint so it was so affordable I placed it up against the wall I haven't hung it up yet because I want to make sure that I have everything else set in this place before I make a permanent hole so right now it's just leaning up against the wall but it's still just makes a huge difference in the space it reflects light back into the room it reflects the beautiful Chandelier and it makes the space feel so much larger I tell you do not sleep on your thrift store or Facebook Marketplace or even garage sales if you just keep your eyeballs open you could find a treasure if you're looking for a beautiful piece of wall art that needs just a little bit of love or simply a paint change try those places out because like me you may end up with a treasure that did not break the bank I'm going to start off with eight 5x7 canvases I purchased these small canvases at Ross they came in a package of eight and they were only 3.99 they were on clearance I love a good bargain now if you've been with me for a while you know that I love to hydro dip just a couple of weeks ago we hydro dipped this urn right here and so I thought let's see if we can hydro dip some art so that is exactly what we're going to do with our canvases so I got a small garbage can and I lined it with a garbage sack and then I filled it to the top with some water then I took three spray paints I'm using a gold a silver and a black spray paint I'm going for a marbleized design and so these colors are going to give me that look so I took my spray paint and I began to spray it into the water I did silver and gold and the silver and the gold and then a little bit of black in the water I did more silver and gold than I did Black because black is very overpowering so I didn't want to use very much of that once I had the bullseye formed in the water I took my canvases and I dipped them into the paint you can dip two to three of these canvases into the paint that you sprayed in one setting before you need to re-spray your paint which is what I did after I dipped a couple of canvases in I resprayed the paint into the water I did the exact same process just alternating the colors until I got the desired marble look that I wanted and then I took my canvases and I dipped them into the water I use plastic gloves because I don't want the paint to get on my hands while I'm dipping the canvases [Music] once I had dipped all of my canvases in the paint I let them dry for two to three hours so now that our canvases are dry we are going to frame them we're going to use some frames that I purchased at my thrift store surprise surprise I love my thrift store these frames are so pretty I love the gold detail on them they are inside of these frames is not my style I don't get me wrong I like an astrological chart as much as the next person but I don't want to display it in my house so I'm going to remove this art and we are going to put in our canvases and the best part is that these were only 5.99 a piece I need to create a vacuum that's going to go behind our canvases and what I'm going to use is a gift bag I purchased this gift bag at Ross a while ago this is going to be perfect behind art it's the right color it's gold and it's black it's going to make our Art Pop you can use unique items like this to use as backing I've done wrapping paper in the past you can use contact paper you can use scrapbook paper all kinds of things to give your art just a little extra Pop I simply took the bag apart I separated the edges from each other and then I laid it flat next I took the back of the frame and traced around it so I had the perfect size template and then I cut it out with scissors thank you [Music] I hot glued the gift bag rectangle directly onto the back of the frame I hot glued around the edges the reason why I am doing this is because sometimes you could hot glue things put paper at the top and it gets wavy I don't want it to be wavy in the middle the edges are going to be covered up with our mat I'm going to do the same thing with the mat I'm going to hot glue that directly over the top of our black gift bag [Music] and now it's time to add our marbleized canvases I got a ruler and I put it at the top so I could make sure that all my mini canvases were equidistant from each other and then I simply hot glued them into place I'm doing four small canvases per frame I want this to be more of a collection instead of individual pieces and then I simply repeated this process with my other frame I did the exact same thing and now I have my art that is ready to be put back into our frames now these frames are so sturdy I actually had to screw them back together so I know they're not going to come apart and now everything is complete we have our wall art I cannot even tell you how beautiful this is this like you could buy it at a store for 50 60 70 100 but we made this so affordably we got some rifted frames we used some canvases that were on clearance and a little bit of spray paint and each piece is so unique and individual but as a whole this collection looks very cohesive this was so simple anybody could do this and you could definitely customize this to fit into your own design color scheme or style you could pick whichever spray paints you wanted to use and customize it to make it into an art piece that you will treasure now I have a mirror that's just been slapped on the wall it's frameless and you can see it in pretty much every home so we're gonna get a new mirror I wanted something fancy but I didn't want to pay a gazillion dollars for it so I thought let's head to the thrift store and see if we can find something there happy day for me they had this beautiful mirror I fell in love with the detail that was around the frame the size of course was perfect and Junior else was fantastic the price it was only 24 now is this mirror in perfect condition absolutely not there's a lot that needs to be done to it there are some chips and some dings and some cracks so what I did was I filled in the large divots with some wood filler and then I sanded everything down once that was done I gave the mirror a good washing I knew that I wanted to change the paint color that was pretty evident it was this white kind of creamish color and it looked really dirty to prep my mirror I got some butcher paper and Pinterest tape and I protected the mirror then I took it outside and I sprayed it in some gold rustling spray paint I did a few coats of this spray paint I wanted to make sure the frame was completely saturated in the paint and then I let it dry for three hours isn't this mirror transformation stunning you would never know that we bought this at the thrift store for twenty four dollars and gave it a makeover [Music] our next thrifted dupe is going to be this mustard yellow vase is bulbous it's got brown around the top and brown streaks down the bottom you guys this is it's not a looker it's not a looker but we are going to change it into something beautiful so we're going to start off with washing this I don't know what's on it I don't know how long it's been at the thrift store so we're gonna get that dust and the grime off and start off with a clean and shiny piece now that it's nice and clean I took it outside and I'm going to spray paint it in some white gloss or stolen spray paint I made sure that it was completely covered in this spray paint and then I let it dry for 30 minutes then I came back and I did a second coat of this paint I sprayed it again just to make sure that it was completely white so you couldn't see any of that yellow mustard or brown coming through once it was fully coated in the paint I let it dry for several hours it already looks a hundred times better don't you think okay well to get our raised dots on this face we are again going to be using a very unique technique what I'm going to do is get some hot glue and a silicone mold I'm going to put some hot glue into these silicone molds I'm going to fill these molds about halfway with this glue once they were all filled up I let the hot glue cool down and solidify back into a solid and now I can just pop them right out of the molds they just keep flying out no problem they just slid out of these molds and now I have my semi circles that I can place on my base the way I'm going to attach these semi-circles to my base is again with the hot glue I'm just going to add some hot glue to the back of these semi-circles and then I'm going to place them equidistant around this vase color wise I needed to now blend the hot glue in with the white on the base so that's an easy fix I took it outside and I gave it one final coat in this white Gloucester stalling spray paint now the vase and the hot glue dots are all one color I love the way this face looks it's neutral it's classy it will go with so many styles and it does have a bit of a modern touch to it it's come a long way since we found it at the thrift store now I'm going to create a tape grid over the top and place in some Chinese lanterns and some Dogwood branches spring is coming up so I thought that this would be a great floral to put inside the space right now [Music] thank you let's head to my favorite thrift store I always find something unique and special here the first piece that caught my eye was tucked on a bottom shelf over in the dish Department it was this cutting board I loved the size and the shape of this cutting board he had a slate strip down one of the sides which was pretty cool I knew that this had a lot of potential and for 3.99 it was a bargain so even though the Slate strip was a very nice detail I'm going to remove it I got a hammer and a screwdriver and I chiseled that slight piece right off of The Cutting Board just popped right off [Music] it was removed I needed to sand it down I needed to sand down the glue that was holding the slate in place but The Cutting Board also had some cuts and some Nicks on it so I wanted everything to be smooth I went outside and I sanded this entire piece down I got all of the glue off once it was sanded down I could see the beautiful wood grain in this cutting board and I didn't want to restain it a dark color so we're going to restain it in a light color but before we do that we're going to add some detail to that little indent part that indentation where we took out the Slate so I headed over to Hobby Lobby and I found a package of these wooden rectangles they had a bunch of different sized wood pieces in this package it was just a few dollars I'm going to be using just the large rectangles out of this package and I'm going to put them in this indentation in a herringbone pattern these wood slices were the perfect size to fit right inside in order for them to stick really well I got some liquid nails and I put it on the back of these wood slices and then place them on my cutting board I continue to do that throughout the entire indentation to create a beautiful detail now when I got to both the top and the bottom I couldn't fit an entire wood Slice on it but these are so thin that all I did was get some scissors and trimmed them to the size I needed and then glued them into place once everything was glued I let it dry overnight transform my cutting board into a tray handles I had these beautiful handles that were left over from my kitchen remodel and these are going to be used on my tray I love the lucides and the gold on these handles I purchased them from Amazon for just a few dollars a piece so what I need to do is get my drill and drill some holes into either side of my cutting board to per handle foreign [Music] I also want to put some feet on my tray I had these leftover cabinet knobs from my kitchen remodel these were the ones that I'm not using anymore so I'm going to spray paint them in some Rust-Oleum gold spray paint I made sure that the knobs were completely coated in this spray paint and then I let them dry for a few hours now that all my pieces are prepped and ready to go it's time to restain The Cutting Board I am using this antique white stain I got a sponge brush and I began to paint the stain on The Cutting Board I made sure that the cutting board was completely covered in the stain and then I moved on to the herringbone pattern I got the stain in all of those little indentations and on the rectangular wood pieces and then I finished off by staining each of the four sides of my cutting board next I took a paper towel and I wiped off the excess stain that was on The Cutting Board I really loved the wood grain and I wanted it to be highlighted by removing the excess stain I will be able to see the gorgeous detailing of the natural wood underneath once I had wiped off all the excess stain I let this piece dry overnight now it's time to add our knobs to the bottom of the cutting board to create our feet I'm going to be using some E6000 I added the E6000 to the knobs and then I placed the four knobs on the four corners of my tray and then I let them dry overnight if you have some excess knobs in your house just laying around you don't use anymore they are perfect in transforming pieces like trays like this or cutting boards it didn't cost me any extra money to use these and I think that they add a tremendous amount of detail to my tray okay so now that we've got the feed on let's move on to the handles I took my handles and I put the screws through the holes and then I screw the handles to The Cutting Board I did this on both sides and I think that the handles are what elevates this tray so so much I love the sparkly lucite on it and the gold it makes it look so luxurious and high-end okay guys we are done look at how beautiful this tray turned out and to think it started out as a dark cutting board that we purchased from the thrift store I love the herringbone pattern on this it's a beautiful detail the lighter stain makes this piece so much brighter and you can see the beautiful wood grain on this tray now the loose cycled handles and the knobs Elevate this and make it look so luxurious and you can find cutting boards in so many different places you can of course find them at your thrift store but you might even have an extra one hiding in your cabinet somewhere that you want to transform into a tray okay so we're going to show what the tray looked like before this is our cutting board and this is what our beautiful tray looks like now [Music] I love decorating with mirrors they are Timeless they are classy and they also reflect light back into the room the shape of this mirror is so on Trend right now I have seen them all over Pinterest all over the Internet however if you want to buy one you're gonna have to pay for it because they can get really expensive foreign how could I find one that's affordable and I thought you know what I'm going to hit at my local thrift store and so that's what I did they had a huge variety of mirrors there I rummaged through and I came across this gorgeous mirror and it only cost 15 dollars now the brown color it definitely needed to be changed and I knew that but the shape was perfect the transformation started with a good washing I scrubbed it and got all the dust and debris off of it and then I dried it completely I got out some butcher paper I'm going to cover up the mirror with this butcher paper now there's a teeny little spot in between where the frame is and where the mirror is and I could tuck that butcher paper right in between that space it's a much better option to use the butcher paper because I know it's underneath every single part of that frame as opposed to say blue painters tape because I don't know about you but sometimes I put that stuff on and it's uneven and then I'll actually get like a line so the butcher paper worked wonders I did use the blue painters tape to adhere all of the pieces of butcher paper together once everything was thoroughly covered and protected it's time to paint it I'm using this Rust-Oleum gold metallic spray paint I love this spray paint it is a perfect shade of gold I use it all the time and you can buy it at Walmart or at Lowe's or Home Depot I began to spray the paint on the frame I did a light coat around all the sides of the mirror I let the first coat dry for about 30 minutes coat I repeated this process and one way to make sure that you get a good even finish is to stand about one to two feet away from the piece and to move the paint constantly to move that spray paint move it around constantly so it evenly adheres to the frame once it was completely saturated in the paint I let it dry for an hour then I simply removed the butcher paper and the painters tape and it revealed a brand new refreshed mirror I hung it above my NASA right here working with mirrors especially in Darker rooms or smaller confined spaces is a great design element to add because again it reflects it makes it feel larger and it also is a Timeless elegant piece that doesn't go out of style and for fifteen dollars plus a can of spray paint I was able to transform this mirror into something remarkable [Music] I see glass jars all the time in my thrift store I found one that I loved the other day so I scooped it up we're going to do something to this glass jar that I've never done to a glass jar before we're going to turn it into a candle so what I'm going to do with my jar first of all is I'm going to spray paint it white this white gloss Rust-Oleum spray paint has been used in all of my projects today I love it I took my jar outside and I sprayed it in this paint I made sure that it was completely covered in this paint and then I let it dry for one hour I got some Cricut vinyl and my Cricut maker I cut it out and then I placed it on the center of my jar that on the rim of the lids since this is a candle we need to put some wax inside of our jar now I've done this technique in the past and it's so easy it's so simple it's so cheap all you need to do is head on over to Dollar Tree and pick up a couple of candles I needed three what I'm gonna do with my candles is we are going to melt them down into a liquid to do this you just need a big pot fill it up with water bring it up to about a low boil or a simmer and then place your candles right inside the hot water it's going to take about 10 to 15 minutes to turn this wax into a liquid once it was liquefied I pulled out the Wicks then I took those Wicks and I wrapped them around a wooden skewer and I placed it inside of my glass jar now you're going to want to use a lot of caution because this wax is Raging hot so make sure that you have some hot pads grab those candles out of the boiling water and then dump that wax right into your container I'm happy that I got three of them because I used all three of these candles I got some essential oils this is an orange scented essential oil it smells so good I added several drops to the wax and at this point I am finished all I needed to do is let this liquid wax turn back into a solid which took a couple of hours once the wax was solid I took the Wicks off of the wooden skewer and I snipped them down to size so far so good right now the only thing that we need to do now is add the gold accents on our jar so I got some blue painters tape and I taped off the top knob on the lid then I got some gold rub and buff and a rag and I just put this rub and buff all over the knob on the jar lid [Music] once that was done I got some more rub and buff and I put it around the lip on the actual jar container itself and then finally I added some rub and buff to the perimeter of the lid right on the bottom of it you don't have to wait very long for this rub and buff to dry like only a couple minutes so after a few minutes I was able to remove the blue painters tape [Music] every now and again I come across these cardboard almost like paper mache containers at my thrift store I haven't purchased them because I haven't known what to do but I saw one at my thrift store and I really loved the detail on it it had this scoop that went down on each of the four sides and I thought I could do something with this well I was out shopping at Hobby Lobby it just so happens I have Home Goods across the street so I thought I'm gonna head on over to Home Goods and see what they have there in their napkin section I found this beautiful package of marble napkins the best part where they were on clearance for three dollars and fifty cents before we Mod Podge the napkins onto the container I'm going to spray paint it white in the white gloss we're still in spray paint the reason I'm doing that is so you won't see any of the brown cardboard underneath the thin napkins once it was completely covered in this spray paint I let it dry for two hours so I took my napkin I unfolded it and then I put my container over the top of the napkin I grabbed a pencil and I traced around the container then I got a pair of scissors and I cut out the shape I separate the two-ply part of the napkin away from the front of the napkin the reason I do that is because if you put it on your piece and then put the Mod Podge on over the top a lot of times it will bubble up because there's air that's trapped in between the two-ply portion so I always separate mine so I just have the decorative part that I put on the top of my container or whatever it is that I'm mod podging so I did that I separated those pieces and then I got some Mod Podge I put the Mod Podge over the container and then I placed my napkin over the top I got a kitchen scraper tool and I pressed all of the air out of the napkin doing this helps the napkin lay flat and it also removes any air that could be trapped underneath the napkin I repeated this process on all four sides of my container and then I let it dry for about an hour back and I added a top layer of mod podge over the surface of the napkin I did this on all four sides once again and then I let it dry for a few hours at the top of my container where it Scoops down I had some excess napkin that was Above the Rim so what I'm going to do is get a piece of sandpaper and sand that extra napkin right off it's the easiest way that I have found to get a clean Edge so if you have some excess paper or scrapbook paper or in this case napkin hanging off the edges of your piece sand it down it will remove it seamlessly all right you guys now my container is finished look at how beautiful this looks I made sure that the napkin design was the same on all four sides so it would be cohesive it looks so expensive it looks like marble you would never know that this was a paper mache box that I covered in a napkin so now that it's completed what I'm going to do is add my flowers in I have these white and cream flowers just some beautiful hydrangeas and some peonies and I added them to my container we were able to upgrade this cardboard container into something that looks extremely high-end this is what our container looked like before and this is what our container looks like now [Music] it's been a while since we've been to the thrift store so I think we should go on a little shopping trip and see what they have [Music] [Music] okay now we have our pieces from the thrift store to transform we're going to start off with this lovely Brown tray I purchased a spray for 5.99 the tray actually has really good bones I love the size of it and it just has a couple dings and nicks but the brown faux leather has got to change the first thing that we're going to do is wash it down we need to wipe it and get all of the dust and debris off we do not know how long it's been at the thrift store or what's been on it and a clean surface is an ideal surface for optimal paint adhesion so now that it's clean and dry we're going to take it outside and I'm going to spray paint it in some white gloss Rust-Oleum spray paint I sprayed my tray so it was 100 covered in the spray paint I got around each of the sides and the inside corners and I also did the bottom inside of the tray once the tray was completely saturated in the paint I let it dry for three hours already this tray is like a complete 180. it is so light and bright and the white color makes it look fresh and clean let's address the nail head trim along the perimeter now if I were to have taped off each one of these nail heads it would have taken me forever so I painted them white and now we're going to go back over them with some rub and buff now I tell you this tube of gold rub and buff is the tube that just keeps on giving so all you need is just a little bit so I took the gold rub and buff and a paintbrush and I added the gold rub and buff to each one of the nail head trims I simply went around the entire perimeter and changed it from white to gold what I love about the rub and buff is that it has an antique look to it so there's some color variation which gives it a unique look once I was done adding gold to each of the nailhead trims I moved on to the inner circles that were metal and I added some rub and buff to those as well this gold accent definitely elevates the look of this tray foreign online looking at trays and I noticed that all the ones that I loved had some kind of detail on the bottom of the tray so we're gonna do the same thing I chose a cherry blossom detail I just had my Cricut maker cut out this design and I'm using a champagne gold vinyl I didn't even use transfer tape on this I just peeled the vinyl away from the backing and I placed it in the center of my tray then I got my scraper tool and I pressed out all the air bubbles and this also helps to adhere the vinyl to the tray now I have a stunning design that transforms this tray from plain to classy and high end the white color is going to make everything that I put on top of this tray pop it's the perfect color choice the gold accents Are An Elegant Touch This tray transformation is remarkable so what do you guys think about this decorative box it's pretty questionable right we're gonna clean it up and make this pretty penny shine so this box was 1.99 which is a fantastic price it's a great size I love the metal hardware on the corners and the latch in the front first up we are going to give this thing a good washing which is a very good thing that I decided to do because oh man was this thing dirty I'm talking black residue dirty this is what the rag looked like when I was finished cleaning it up that's pretty gross so once it was clean and shiny I took some blue painters tape and I taped off the metal brackets on the side the latch of the front and the hinges in the back then I took my box outside and I sprayed it in the same white gloss with stilling spray paint that I used on my tray I made sure that this box was completely covered in the paint I did the sides in the top I made sure that it was 100 saturated and then I let it dry for three hours my plan from the beginning was to have my box coordinate with my tray so in order to do that we're going to use the same rub and buff on the hinges and on the latch in the front and on the side corner brackets that way the gold coordinates with the gold that's on the nail head trim on my tray so again I took my rub and buff and a paintbrush and I put the gold on the latch on the corner pieces and the hinges in the back paintbrush is a great way to get the rub and buff on there because you can place it exactly where you want it next I created the exact same cherry blossom decal in a smaller size on my Cricut so what I'm going to do with these is I'm going to place the cherry blossom branches on the corners of my boxes that way the branch is just kind of meandered around the box and make it look unique and special So I placed the first cherry blossom branch on the side and I wrapped it around to the front then I placed another decal on the back corner then I added the final cherry blossom Branch to the top of the box I used my scraper tool to get all the air bubbles out and to make sure that the vinyl was adhered well to the Box once I got to this point I looked at my box and I decided I needed to add just one more detail you know I just can never leave well enough alone well that's kind of how I was with this box so I went back to my rub and buff and my paintbrush and I decided to add more of the rub and buff along the raised edges all along the top perimeter of the box and also along the bottom I'm really glad that I did this I think that it's an additional detail that makes this box look high-end all finished I mean come on look at this thing you would never know that it started off as a dirty I'm talking really dirty piece from the thrift store all we did was we gave it a good wash we painted it we added some gold touches to it and a beautiful vinyl detail I just love the way that my box and my tray coordinate together they look like they have always been best friends oh I was rummaging through the shelves at my thrift store and I came across this plate I think it's a plate to hold deviled eggs right put the little eggs and the divots well I absolutely loved the shape of it and the price was right at 1.99 this plate also reminded me of some scalloped like marble trays that I've seen that people use to display candles and other decorative items I think it is so pretty I love the white milk glass and the gold around the rim however the gold around the rim had been rubbed really thin in some places and was completely missing in others this is going to be a quick easy fix all I needed to do was tape off the scallop ridges and around the outside in some blue painters tape I also took a little bit of that leftover gift bag and placed it in the center to protect the center of the plate I took my tray outside and I sprayed it in a coat of metallic gold Rust-Oleum spray paint I sprayed around the scalloped Edge and then I let it dry for two hours I removed the paper and the blue painters tape and it looks brand new now here is a little tip I had a bit of overspray that got onto the actual plate itself so all I needed to do to remove that was to get some fingernail polish remover and some tissue and then I just wiped it right off now the Slate is better than new I'm going to place a candle in the center and it looks like a high-end scallop tray that you would pay an exorbitant amount of money for and we only spent 1.99 foreign I have found some amazing treasures at my thrift store in the past but this this guy right here definitely one of the best I found him at my local thrift store and he was only 6.99 that is an amazing price I've looked for Santas in the past and they can get so pricey so I scooped this guy up for 6.99 it's the in perfect condition no but we're gonna try our best to bring him back to his former glory now his hands and his face were pretty dirty so we're just gonna start off by washing them I got a damp Rag and I wiped off his hands really well there were a few marks that were pretty stubborn that wouldn't come off so I got out my magic eraser and I rubbed that really firmly over his little hands and the dirt came right up as I was washing off his face I did notice that on his nose he had a chip the paint had been chipped off so after I washed his face off I got some craft paint I mixed a pink and a red together to match the color that was on his cheeks I painted his nose in this pinkish red color and it looks like it was always supposed to be that way Santa is after all supposed to have a cherry red nose right so after I was done with his nose I got that damp Rag and I continued to wipe off his robe I got all the dust off and then I got a pair of scissors and I trimmed off any errand threads I really liked his hat but I thought we can do better so we're gonna add a little bit of flair I got two holly leaves and a gold metal snowflake I hot glued them together and then I hot glued them to the Hat I had another gold metal Snowflake and I put some hot glue on that and I hot glued that to the center of his belt these two small additions that we added to Santa give him that extra Flair that he needed [Music] what is Santa without an overflowing bag of presents I got a canvas bag and I stuffed it full of polyfill then I got some small gift boxes and I placed those on top so that they would overflow out of the bag foreign this Santa got he was pretty tired like we all are in this time of year but he got a much needed refresh so he could look his best coming down the chimney that's delivering presents on Christmas Eve [Music] I found this bird cage at my local thrift store for only 3.99 it it's nice but it could be so much better first thing I needed to do was to address the rust spots there were some on the bottom and around the bird so I gave it a good washing I scrubbed it really well and then I let it completely dry the color combination that I'm going to be using today is white and gold like I've used in so many of my other Decor pieces I love using it because it's neutral so I'm going to first of all Paint The Birdcage white so I needed to tape off the top bird and also the latch I'm using a white Rust-Oleum spray paint I sprayed the first coated paint on the cage I covered it liberally until it was completely white I let it dry for 20 minutes then spray it on a second coat for a maximum paint saturation and then I let it dry for one hour [Music] I removed the blue painters tape from the bird and from the latch taped off the cage with that same blue painters tape and I also used a paper towel to make sure that this Leaf cover then I got some gold metallic brass Rust-Oleum spray paint and I sprayed the bird the handle and the latch I let it dry for 20 minutes then added a second coat of paint I let that dry for an hour [Music] and finally I removed the painters tape from the bird and the latch the transformation is so dramatic it is bright it is fresh clean and it looks so much more high-end [Music] I'm feeling like going on a little treasure hunt and the best place to do that is at my thrift store so what do you think you want to go on a shopping trip with me let's go [Music] thank you we found some Treasures you guys now I know they look like doozies right now but trust me they all have potential and we're going to start off with the most stunning in my opinion transformation but it's also the most difficult why because typically when I do my Thrift flips I like to reimagine these pieces or embellish them but this time we are taking a piece and we are doing a reverse flip and we are taking it back to its natural state this cheese board and cloche was from my thrift store and it was 5.99 this little cloche is already decorated to the hilt with butterflies and flowers and grass and there's a cute little sunshine on the top it looks like somebody's darling little daughter or niece or granddaughter just went to town and used her most creative painting skills we are going to be removing the paint from the glass cloche and bringing it back to its original state now because this glass cloche and cheese board is going to be used with food I wanted to do it in the most natural way possible I did not want to use harsh chemicals to remove this paint so we are going to be trying out a little hack together I've never done this before so let's keep our fingers crossed that it works what you're going to need is some vinegar just plain vinegar I got a measuring cup and I measured out one cup of vinegar and I heated it up in the microwave for 60 seconds I took my glass cloche outside and I put it on top of a old cookie sheet you don't need anything new you might want to use something that could possibly get ruined so that's what I'm doing here and then I also have some gloves on some plastic gloves because safety first so I took this hot vinegar and I poured it over the glass cloche and then I also got a sponge brush and I sponged the hot vinegar onto the painted areas then I got a few paper towels and I put those over the clothes and then added some more vinegar this will hold the vinegar onto the glass while we wait and I waited for about 20 minutes to let this vinegar soak in as best as it could to the paints after the 20 minutes was up I removed the paper towels and I got a razor blade and I began to scrape off the paint to my amazement this vinegar hack works and the paint started to come off so I just continued to scrape the paint off with this razor blade now I'm going to be honest with you it took me about 45 minutes to scrape all this paint off so it did take some effort to get it off but the good news is is that the paint did come off and I was happy that we were able to do it in a natural way without the use of any harsh chemicals in this particular instance bringing the cloche back to its original state was just as impactful as embellishing it or turning it into something else we're not done yet we are going to be theming this close into fall so we're going to create some mini pumpkins from some Dollar Tree wood slices I took my drill and I drilled a hole in the top of each one of these wood slices I added a dab of hot glue into the hole then I pressed a little stick that I had gotten outside then I took some stems of leaves and I hot glued the leaves to the top of the pumpkin how cute and adorable are these little pumpkins and they were such a piece of cake to make now I'm going to take my two pumpkins and I'm going to hot glue them onto the ends of a segment of ribbon this ribbon is so pretty it's green and it's got some gold Stripes through it I added some hot glue to the end of the ribbon and I pressed my pumpkin right onto the glue I did that on both sides of the ribbon then I took this ribbon and I tied it around the top knob on the cloche and let those cute little pumpkins hang down how adorable this is wouldn't this be so fun to put out during a fall party you could put some cheese under the cloche and you could have everybody just slice the little piece of cheese that they want that would fit perfectly on their cracker what a fun and interactive way to have food set out at a party and because we did a reverse flip on this piece we are able to use it for any themed party or any season because it's a neutral piece shadow box frame this shadow box has seen a better day it's pretty beat up it's got some wood splinters and some dings all over the frame it's a little weathered and yes we do love to live and laugh but we are going to remove those rocks from the shadow box and put something even better inside and the price was only 2.99 which is fan I got a sanding sponge and I began to sand down all the splinters that were along the frame to make it smooth and then I cleaned the frame with a damp clean cloth because it is a shadow box there is about a half inch piece of wood along the inside of the frame so I'm not able to take out the glass so what I am going to do is get a piece of copy paper and some blue painters tape I put the paper down in the center and then I put the blue painters tape along the edges of the frame which will protect the glass and hold the paper in place then I took my frame outside and I sprayed it in some white gloss Rust-Oleum spray paint I got along all the edges of the frame and on the inside corner then I let it dry for 30 minutes I sprayed on a second coat again I made sure that the frame was completely saturated in the white spray paint and then I let it dry which took one hour I have a really fun event coming up this weekend I'm hosting a baby shower so we are going to theme the contents that we're putting into our shadow box into fall with a little bit of a baby boy spin on it so I created this welcome little pumpkin printable now if you want it you could have it if you're going to have a baby shower this would be so cute to print off and have so I will leave a link to this free printable in my description box so you can print it off at home and have it for yourself but what I did was I printed it off and then I just trimmed up the size to get it the correct size so I could put it inside of my shadow box next we are going to be making some mini paper pumpkins to go inside of our shadow box I got some blue polka dot paper and I cut some pieces that were three inches by two inches and then I got some green striped paper again I cut some rectangular pieces that were three inches by two inches you are going to need three of these pieces per pumpkin I took these rectangular cardstock pieces and I folded them back and forth and back and forth and back and forth to create an accordion then I folded each accordion piece in half to create a fan I got some hot glue and I hot glued the inside edges together then I took my three folded fans and I put them together to form a circle I got hot glue and I hot glued the edges of each of the fans and I put them together to form a circle I wanted to create a another Circle that went in the center of our circles so all I had to do was half the size of the rectangles so these smaller rectangles are a one and a half inch by one inch rectangle I repeated the same process I folded those three pieces of cardstock to look like accordions then I folded them in half hot glue the inside edges together and then took my three fans and hot glued them together to create a circle [Music] now we have formed all of our circles what I'm going to do is I'm going to put some hot glue on the back of my mini circles and place them right in the center of the larger circles to hide the little circle in the center I got some buttons this little jar of buttons is from the Dollar Tree I just pulled out some little ones that coordinated with the color scheme I was going for I added some hot glue to the back of these buttons and then I just put them right in the center of our circles now we're going to make some stems and some leaves to go at the top of our Pumpkin we're going to start off with the leaves I took some green cardstock and I folded it three times then I cut a leaf shape out of the cardstock because I folded it it will create three identical leaves for our pumpkin stems I'm just using some sticks that I got outside I added some hot glue to the bottom of the stick and I placed it right in one of the folds of the accordion then I got my leaf and I added some hot glue to the bottom of the leaf and I placed that at the top of my pumpkin I then repeated the same process with the remaining two pumpkins I arranged these pumpkins at the bottom of my welcome little pumpkin printable then I got some hot glue and I hot glued the back of the pumpkins and pressed them onto the bottom of the pumpkin printable foreign back into our shadow box but first we have to say goodbye to the live and laugh rocks so I pulled those off and now I have just a plain mat so I scooted my little printable over the top of this mat then I got some double-sided tape which secured the mat and the paper together next I took my shadow box frame and I placed it over the top of the printable I flipped it around and secured everything back together what a great transformation this shadow box it was pretty sad when we first found it but I think that we have flipped it into something completely different and I absolutely love the contents that we put inside I love that this is themed fall but it's also themed for a baby shower this is something that you could do at home instead of saying welcome little pumpkin you could say well fall Happy fall Harvest whatever but you could still create some mini pumpkins and put it inside of a shadow box which would definitely theme them into this Autumn season in the seasonal section of the thrift store I came across this pumpkin gourd candle holder and I just thought it was absolutely adorable so I scooped it up and brought it home now the price of this candle holder is only 2.99 which is perfect what we're gonna do with this little candle holder is we are going to paint it white but before we do that we need to tape off the leaf and the stem because I don't want that to be white so I got some blue painters tape and I just simply protected the leaf and the stem with this blue painters tape then I took this candle holder outside and I sprayed it in the white gloss Rust-Oleum spray paint I made sure that I painted every part of this candle holder once I was finished with the first coat I let it dry for 30 minutes then I came back and did a second coat to make sure that the candle holder was completely saturated in this white spray paint and then I let it dry for one hour once the paint had dried I removed the blue painters tape from off of the stem and the leaf and then I took some gold rub and buff and a tissue I added a little bit of this rub and buff to the tissue and then I wiped it on the surface of the leaf and onto the stem I did the top and the bottom of the sleeve and I made sure that it was coated in this gold rub and buff to embellish it even further we are going to add some flowers to the center of our candle holder so we are going to use our imagination just a little bit instead of using candles we're going to add some flowers to it so I got some floral foam and I cut it into fourths I pressed the floral foam into the circles that were meant for candles I took several stems of flowers I have some white roses and some blue Autumn hydrangeas and some other fall florals and I press the flowers into the foam which will hold them in place once I had all of my flowers arranged to where I wanted them to be I added some gold Leafs and then some regular old green leaves it's so pretty now with these florals inside I just absolutely love the way it looks and you could leave it just like this but like I said we're having our baby shower so I needed to add one more additional detail I got a chalkboard pick and a chalk marker and I wrote Oh Boy and then I pressed it into the foam I am so thrilled with the transformation on this candle holder it's so cute it was really easy to do all we did was repaint it in a different color it really refreshed this piece and then we reimagined the contents of the inside instead of putting candles we put flowers there is a little Christmas Corner in the back portion of my local thrift store where I found this three foot tall potted Christmas tree and it was only 7.99 yes 7.99 it was a little worn that is for sure but that is a great price so the first order of business is to take off the lights now these lights were bright and colorful which is fun but it's not going to go in with my color scheme so I had to remove those that was okay my first grader snatched those right up and put them on her Christmas tree in the game room so they didn't go to waste after that I needed to scrub down the base the space right here it was filthy clearly this was a tree that had been outside because there was some dirt on it there was some leaves a little bit of sand we are here in Florida so Sands to be expected I got a damp cloth and I wiped it down really well and it was pretty gross it was really dirty so I scrubbed really hard to get it extremely clean then I took that same damp rack and I wiped down the branches got all the dust and debris off of those as well after I had fluffed the branches it already looked 100 percent better let's address the pots now I love the raised detail that it has however this muddy brown color has got to be changed since it's Christmas time we're gonna call it reindeer fur Brown whatever color whatever color we call it it needs to be changed so I wrapped the trunk in blue painters tape and then added plastic bags around the branches to protect the tree I'm using a white gloss Rust-Oleum spray paint I painted an even coat on the surface of the pot let it dry for an hour and gave it another coat of paint and then let it dry completely essentially what I did was I created a base coat with this white spray paint this reindeer fur Brown was so dark and saturated that I wanted to make sure that it was completely covered before I added the top coat of paint for this top coat of paint I got this Perla metallic paint at Michael's it was 10.99 however I used a 40 off coupon which brought the price down I took a paintbrush and I painted on this Pearl Essence paint all around the race details and made sure the Paw was completely covered in the paint then I let it dry overnight this Pearl Essence paint was the exact look that I was going for it looks like satin ribbon it has the right amount of Sheen and adds Elegance to my wintry themed display now the lights on this Christmas tree were pretty sparse it was pre-lit but there wasn't very many so I added an extra string of White Christmas lights I created a large bow with gold and polka dot ribbons and wired it to the top I wrapped the tree in a gold ribbon added some poinsettias segments of beaded Garland ornaments and Gold Gems you guys talk about a transformation have you seen how much these trees go for in the store they are so expensive and for 7.99 and a little elbow grease I couldn't be happier with the finished look thank you another place I love searching through at my thrift store is the glass and the vase aisle they always have some great Treasures you just have to move things around and find a great piece which is exactly what I did I found a glass face it's rather large and the shape of the vase is unique and interesting and the best part was it was only 1.99 that's a no-brainer so I scooped that right up and brought it home the first thing that I did to the space was I gave it a good washing and made sure it was completely dry and now we are going to paint it but before we paint it we're going to cover the outside of this vase with a plastic grocery bag and then I'm going to take some blue painters tape and wrap that around the rim of the vase we are actually going to be painting the inside of the space now I know that's counterintuitive to what we typically do we always paint the outside but today we're going to do the inside and I'll show you why in just a minute so I took my vase outside and I sprayed it in some gold Rust-Oleum spray paint I made sure that the entire inside of the vase was completely covered in the paints and then I let it dry for one hour all right so the reasoning behind why we're painting the inside of this space is because we're going to make a design and put it on the outside if I wanted to ever take off the design that we're going to be putting on it would rip some of the paint off which is not what we want to do so by painting the inside of the vase it leaves the outside glass so we can add and take away anything on the outside of the space without worrying about peeling or chipping the paints I created a damask design on my Cricut and then I had my Cricut maker cut it out on some removable vinyl I weeded away the excess vinyl from my damask design then I put some transfer tape over the top and then I transferred my design onto the center lower portion of my vase I'm using removable vinyl so I can use this vase again for another season or holiday simply by removing the vinyl I'll be able to have a blank slate to decorate with [Music] an additional detail that I wanted to add to this face was a ribbon right at the top I created this ribbon a couple videos back if you remember I used it on my foyer display table what I did with the Suburban was I just hot glued two ribbons together to create one unique and custom ribbon I took some double-sided tape and I added that to the back of the ribbon and then I pressed that to the neck of the vase I added more double sided tape along the vase at the top and then I just simply pressed that ribbon to the double-sided tape until it was completely around the neck of the vase I love the additional detail that this ribbon adds to the space the color scheme of the gold and white ribbon ties in with the golden white overall color scheme that I'm going for in my display isn't this container just a beautiful and it was only 1.99 I have a custom piece now that looks so high-end so expensive and what I'm gonna do to this base of course is we're going to add some flowers because I always add flowers I love flowers so I'm going to take some peonies I have two bunches that I purchased at Michael's I bent the stem and I simply added them to the inside of the base super easy piece cake anybody can do this they are the perfect addition to accompany my newly transformed vase I hit up my local thrift store and I saw this plant stand in the aisle I noticed the shape and the design of this piece had potential and the price was right at 299 however I could not Overlook the rusted out pieces on the iron the dusty feel that it had the unfortunate color of the glass and also there were bugs in it how many times do you buy pieces with bugs in it not very often but I took a risk on this one so I've got some ladybugs for free what I'm gonna do with this piece is first off I'm going to remove the Bucks and the Moss and the plants The Greenery out of the top so I pulled it out and it came out together there was no foam or anything holding it together it was just the Moss that had been pressed together over time so my guess is it had been sitting in that thrift store for quite some time it definitely needed a good wash so I scrubbed the entire thing I started with the iron piece and I made sure that the parts were kind of rusty were scrubbed really well just to get off any excess metal or dust or debris that could be in there and then I washed the glass base with some hot soapy water and then I dried them off and now everything is clean and shiny and prepped for paint now the paint that I'm using is Krylon it is a gold leaf paint and I took my pieces outside and I sprayed them really well I gave them a couple of coats and I made sure that especially on the iron base that those rusted places were really well coated I flipped it around and I did the back side and then I did the glass base part I did the underside first and I let that dry and then I flipped it over and to hold it in place I got a mason jar lid and I just put that vase right inside that mason jar lid and it held it up really nicely while I sprayed the inside of the vase and then I let them dry [Music] now it's time to completely reimagine these pieces the first one is going to be the most obvious and that's just to put them back together put that base right back inside of the iron stand and that's beautiful you could stick a candle in there and just leave it as is just making that paint change makes it a hundred times better than what we started with the second thing is to get another container I got this beautiful white ceramic geometric pot at Ross for a couple of bucks and what I'm going to do is I'm going to fill it up with some Florals in order to have my flowers stay nicely in place inside of my pot I'm going to put some tape on the top of the pot first this is clear packing tape I'm going to put one piece across the center horizontally and then I'm going to put another piece across the center vertically so I have a grid pattern now I have four holes doing this will hold the flowers in place without having to use foam the florals that I'm going to use are from the Dollar Tree and they're also from Ross I got some from there as well and instead of cutting the stems I'm going to bend them the stamps on some of these are really long and I didn't want to make a permanent cut because then you're stuck with that length of stem so instead I'm going to fold them up so I folded them up and then I stuck them inside of the pot so I added some pastel florals that coordinated really nicely with the white and the gold color scheme that we're going for once my floral arrangement was finished I placed that pot on top of my gold plant stand foreign [Music] like these all of the time at my thrift store so I thought I would take this blue plastic generic tray and Glam it up the way I'm going to do that is at first I'm going to give it a coat of white spray paint I'm going to coat it really well because I didn't want to see any of the blue coming through in order to do that I did have to give it a couple of coats because that blue was pretty stubborn and didn't want to go anywhere but eventually I got this paint to cover up all of the blue and now we're going to turn this generic tray into something custom and high-end the way we're going to do that is with some wrapping paper I got this white and gold wrapping paper at Home Goods I'm going to lay it out I'll place my tray on top then I'm going to trace around it to get the shape that I need then I'm going to cut it out with my scissors and now to get that oval to the exact size that I needed I did have to trim it a little bit because I wanted to fit snugly in the base of my tray and not come up on any of the sides after it was perfectly sized I did a dry run and I placed the paper inside then I got my mod podge and I added a liberal amount to the bottom of the tray with a sponge brush I made sure that it was completely covered and then I put my paper oval down now you're going to want to work pretty fast because the Mod Podge will adhere really quickly to the paper once it was set I got my kitchen scraper and I pressed firmly against the paper so that it would stick to the tray really well and also scraping the paper onto the tray gets rid of any air bubbles that may have been trapped underneath the paper after this was all finished I let it dry for about an hour and then I added the top layer again I added a liberal amount to the top I sponge brushed it on I made sure that it was really even and then I let it dry completely now just look at this tray what a glamorous transformation it went from something that you could just throw some barbecued items on to something that you want to put your beautiful perfumes on or maybe some gorgeous office supplies you could put a beautiful candle on it or like me I'm placing my two reimagined floral arrangements and I think that they look so beautiful on the tray the tray ties the gold together it ties the white together it adds a little more geometric Flair to it instead of just having solid colors it adds a pattern which I think that this little display needed now I only spent six dollars on my original pieces but by adding some paint by adding some wrapping paper by adding some different treatments it just makes these pieces look so high-end I love the way that the florals look they just look so feminine pretty and they color gold elevates this to make it look a little more high-end and the white makes it classic so don't pass up those items at the thrift store that you may think gee that's got bugs on it maybe not for me get out your thinking cap reimagine some items and you'll end up with some beautiful pieces of home decor I was wandering the aisles in my thrift store and I saw something that used to be a lamp this shade was gone and the cord was cut looks like somebody just took a pair of scissors and snipped it right in half and since I am no electrician there was not a chance I was going to be able to turn that back into a lamp but I thought it's got such a beautiful detail on the post that I can turn it into a tear to tray and for only 3.99 what do I have to lose the first thing that I needed to do was disassemble it so I unscrewed all of the parts that kept it together and then I pulled out the cut electrical cord I also needed a finial for the top and since the lamp didn't have a finial I needed to come up with an idea so I'm using the decorative end of a curtain rod now that the lamp is disassembled I have all of my individual pieces and my finial I'm going to paint it I'm going to use a bright coat gold Rust-Oleum spray paint I laid out all of my individual pieces on some cardboard and a foam plate outside I sprayed them thoroughly in the gold spray paint I let them dry for 30 minutes once the first coat was dry I flipped over the smaller pieces and sprayed the opposite side in the paint then I gave my other pieces a second coat and then let them dry completely which took one hour the plates that I'm using for my tears aren't really plates at all they're actually Dollar Tree Chargers I needed something that was sturdy enough to be able to act as a tray but I needed to be able to drill some holes through the center so I could place them on the post of my lamp so a charger is the great solution I'm going to add a swirl detail to the rim of my chargers for some extra Pizzazz I'm using a white Cricut vinyl I loaded my vinyl into my Cricut maker by hitting the flashing arrow button then I hit the flashing C button which began the cutting process I evenly placed the vinyl decal along the rim of the charger once it was in place I took my scraper tool and pressed the vinyl firmly to the charger then I peeled away the transfer tape I repeated this process with my second charger and now I have two beautiful detailed Chargers [Music] before we reassemble our lamp post into a tiered tray we first need to drill some holes through the center of our chargers now luckily if you flip over chargers they have a little indentation a little bump where the center is so that's my guide I took this Center Post and I placed it over this bump I got a pencil and I traced around the post to get the exact size that I needed now it's time for the power tools I'm going to start by using my drill I got the biggest drill bit that I had and I placed it on the end of the drill and I began to drill a hole through the center of the charger but as you can see this hole was not large enough to accommodate the post so I had to take some more drastic measures I cut out my jigsaw and I cut along the pencil line with my jigsaw to create a larger hole that would now accommodate the post the second tier was much easier I just got a drill bit that was the same size that I needed for the screw that was popping through the lamp post so I simply just drilled the hole through the center of the charger foreign 's painted the Chargers have the holes in them it's time to put this beauty back together we're going to start off with the base I put the first charger over the top of the base then I got the post and I screwed that into the base and then I just continued to put back the Pieces Just the way they were originally before I had taken the part the only difference is that I added the second charger in between two of the metal pieces and then finally at the top I added my finial I got some E6000 and I ran a line of E6000 along the bottom of the video and then I placed it in the hole that was originally meant for the cord I let the E6000 dry for several hours before styling it on the tears of my tray I added some geometric candle holders with some votive tea lights inside I have some mini closures with a few roses inside and I also have two glass milk jugs with some florals inside and finally I added a tassel Garland so what do you think about this transformation it's probably one of the favorite ones that I've ever done because we took something that could have been thrown away very easily it was not functional and it was missing some pieces you would have never known that this piece started out as a lamp that I purchased from the thrift store another questionable piece that I got at the thrift store was this Christmas planter now we are nowhere near Christmas time right now so I thought you know I could turn this into a cake stand a riser or tray kind of a thing and still leave the ability to use it as a planter so that is what we're going to do first up we need to remove the lovely Christmas decal that's directly in the center so I got a chisel and a hammer and I just chiseled that metal piece right off the center there was some glue that was left over as residue so I got a piece of sandpaper and I removed that Glue by sanding it off I wanted to change the metal corner pieces from a Christmas red into a beautiful gold I took a screwdriver and I unscrewed the small screws from the metal pieces and then I removed them from the planter [Music] I placed them on a foam tray I took them outside and I am going to be using that same bright coat gold Rust-Oleum spray paint I sprayed a coat of gold paint on these metal pieces and then I let them dry completely which took 30 minutes while those corner pieces were drying I decided I wanted to spruce up the planter paint now it was good I actually kind of liked the white wash look that it had because then you can still see the wood grain but I wanted to enhance it so I have this bright metallic paint it's a Perla I got it at Michael's and it has such a beautiful Sheen to it so I got a paintbrush and I painted it on the planter what I love about this paint is that it leaves a shimmer you can still see the wood grain coming through but it makes it a little fancier by adding a bit of a shiny glow I painted all four sides of this planter and then I let it dry completely which took two hours once all my pieces were dry it's time to put everything back together so I got those corner pieces and I placed them where they were originally I got the small screws and I put them back into the holes at this point you could leave the planter as is this transformation was an easy one but it's so much prettier now with the shiny paint and the gold brackets you could use it as a centerpiece on a tablescape or change up the florals for different seasons but what we're going to do is we're going to take out one step further and turn it into a cake stand I have a piece of glass that was left over from a shelf it's thicker and it has some rounded edges so it's going to be a great topper because it can accommodate a fair bit of weight because we're going to be able to see through the glass I wanted to put something decorative on the bottom of the planter and that's where my Cricut vinyl comes into play I have this really pretty Cricut vinyl it looks like lace as you can see it's a rectangular shape so we are not even going to have to use the qriket maker on this one I'll show you what we're going to do instead I'm going to measure it with my measuring tape and a ruler I draw a line down the center to get the exact size that I needed and I'm going to be using a rotary cutter I just ran the rotary cutter right along the line that I drew with my pencil and voila a perfectly straight cut at this point I took my transfer tape and I placed it over the top of the vinyl I scraped it together with my scraper tool I removed the vinyl and the transfer tape from the backer and then I carefully lined it up to the bottom of the planter once it was in place I got my scraper tool again and I pressed the vinyl firmly to the bottom of the planter and then I removed the transfer tape I'm going to be using some sticky cabinet Stoppers I placed one of these Stoppers in each of the four corners and then I placed my glass over the top these cabinet Stoppers same place really well they keep the glass from shifting around and then also if you're going to use it as a planner and you want to flip it over the cabinet Stoppers will act as like a little buffer between the planter and the table so if it does get shipped around it won't scrape your table so these planner these planner these cabin Stoppers are really great for your planter okay so to the top of my cake stand I'm going to add a beautiful round candle holder I purchased this at the dollar spot at Target I think it came a long way from where we started when I found it at the thrift store [Music] I have a sneaking suspicion that somebody may have dropped off a box of Christmas stuff at the thrift store because I am pretty sure that this burgundy basket container whatever you want to call it was the base for like a Christmas basket you know how you can buy them they have all the chocolates and everything inside I think that's what this originally started off as especially because there's a cardboard box still left in the bottom so I think that that's what you place your cookies in the chocolates and whatever else on so I'm pretty sure that that's what this started off of nonetheless I really liked this container no matter where it came from and the color was actually really good there wasn't a whole lot that I needed to change so what I am going to do is add a beautiful decal to the center [Music] to adhere this decal to my basket I'm going to be using my easy press I turned the temperature up to 330 degrees and I'm going to be putting it on for 30 seconds I'm using the bag that the easy press came in actually is a buffer between the easy press and my basket you could use the towel I placed my easy press over the top of the decal and I just waited until the timer ran down I removed the easy press from the basket and then I pulled away the plastic covering from off of the decal foreign you could fill this basket up with so many things as you know you've seen the gift basket so that's what you could do but today I'm going to put in some beautiful flowers some cream white and light pink flowers I took my florals I bent the stem this way I get the perfect height that I need but I can also unbend the stems later and use them for a different project once all my florals were in place I added a few leaves to finish off the arrangement this really was an easy transformation all I did was I took something that was pretty good to begin with this is definitely the best of the three Thrift flips but I enhanced it by adding a gorgeous decal to the center and filling it to overflowing with some beautiful Florals thank you the first time I saw this silver cake stand I just walked right past it I didn't even give it a second look but as I went back up and down the aisles they saw it again and I saw it has so much intricate detail on it and I was able to overlook all of the grime and the oxidation that was all over this piece and so I thought you know for 3.99 I'm gonna take it home clean it up and see if I can make something out of it so that's what I did I got it home and I got some of my rights silver cream out I've used this before on just some other silver pieces and it has worked wonders so I thought I'd give it a try on this little piece I got a sponge brush that was inside of the rice cream and I got a little bit of cream on it and I began to rub it on to the cake stand because there was so much Grime and oxidation on this thing I really had to work hard to get it up so I just kept adding that cream and I kept rubbing with that sponge brush pretty hard it took me a decent amount of time maybe 15 or 20 minutes but after that scrubbing I could tell that there was just some shine underneath and I couldn't wait to see what it was so I turned on the faucet in my sink and I rinsed off all of the grime and it was so beautiful it just shined and you could see all of the beautiful details that were along the rim of the tray I was so excited after I was done with the top portion I flipped it over and I repeated the process on the bottom and on the cake stand base and I got the sponge and I just put that cream all over it and I rubbed really well and the oxidation came right up I rinsed it all off and I looked it over and there were a few places that needed to be redone no problem just kind of scrubbed a little bit more just in those areas that needed a little bit more scrubbing I gave it one final rinse and then I dried it off with a soft cloth until it was bright shiny and completely dry foreign once this was completely dry I flipped it over and I noticed an engraving on the bottom that said it was silver plated and it was made in Italy pretty fancy right and to think that I almost passed this up sometimes the best Transformations are ones where you take a piece that's already beautiful and you simply clean it up that's what I did here for 3.99 plus a little elbow grease I have a beautiful silver cake stand that is going to be perfect for displaying food or any kind of other Decor around my home or for any special parties [Music] my next transformation is turning a basket into a cloche I got the basket and there were a whole bunch of little goodies for 3.99 at the same thrift store and I just took the seeds out and I was left with this basket I thought it was really pretty it reminded me of a tobacco basket however the color wasn't really my style so I wanted to change that so I gave it a good wipe down and then I decided to spray paint it I'm going to be using this Serenity blue chalk paint so I took my basket outside and I got my spray paint and I began to spray the basket I made sure that it was completely saturated in paint and even in the nooks and crannies of the basket then I let it dry for about an hour I flipped the basket over and I painted the bottom side again I made sure that the basket was completely covered in the paint then I let the basket fully dry for a few hours now that the bottom of my basket is going to be the top of my cloche I wanted to fancy it up a little bit and I did this with some blue scrapbook paper this scrapbook paper is so pretty it has a lovely sheen on it and a very nice design that's going to go really great with my silver cake stand so I flipped the paper over and I placed my basket on top of the paper then I got a pencil and I traced out the circle that was along the bottom then I cut out the circle to adhere the paper to the basket I'm using some Mod Podge I got my mod podge and a sponge brush and I literally added some Mod Podge to the basket then I carefully lined up the scrapbook paper Circle and pressed it firmly to the base then I got a kitchen scraper and smoothed out the paper the kitchen scraper will also pull out any bubbles trapped under the paper now I let this dry for about an hour and then I came back and I added some more Mod Podge to the top again I was generous with it because it dries clear so I spread it out evenly and then I let it dry completely which for me was overnight now it's time for the topper I'm gonna use a drawer pull to put right there on the top so what I did was I measured my access hole points I did this way and then I did this way and then I used a pencil and I marked off two spots that would accommodate the holes that were in my drawer pulls so next I'm going to get my drill and I'm gonna find those access hole points and I'm just gonna drill slowly basket on that side and the second one right there okay so now we've got our holes then I'm gonna take my handle fits perfectly because we measured it really nicely I'm going to take my little screws I'm gonna put those through the bottom of the basket I'll grab my screwdriver put them in so can you see how they're sticking out this side now my handle right on top where that screw should be okay then I put my second screw in and I'm going to screw that right inside and then I've got my handle so I've got the screws on the bottom as you can see I know I have a beautiful way that I can put my cloche on and off of my silver tray foreign [Music] were some seeds and some little Grapevine balls and a whole bunch of dried stuff and I thought what can I make out of this and I came up with the idea to make a tassel Garland so I sorted through them and I got these white seed pods I guess you would call them and I thought that they would be a great option to use so I needed to drill a hole through them so I got up my drill and I also got a vice grip this thing right here pretty cool huh so I knew that they were going to roll all over the place and it would be really hard to drill into it so this vice grip was a great way to hold the sea pods in place while I was Drilling so I drilled through the center of each one of my seed pods until each one of them had an access hole point in them to string them all together I used some wire because I needed it to be fairly stiff as I was stringing the seeds through it I thought a piece of string or a ribbon just would get stuck and it wouldn't work very well so I'm using this really thin engaged wire once all of my seed pods were threaded on The Wire I decided I wanted to add some pretty blue tassels to the end I got these tassels at Tuesday morning and they were only 2.99 so what I did with these is I got the string that was above it and I tied it into a knot and then I cut the tassel off of the string then I got a bit of hot glue and I hot glued the portion of the knot where I'd cut the string that way it wouldn't Fray and then I got the wire that was poking out of the bottom of my garlands and I wrapped it around the bottom portion of the knot a few times until it was really secure and then I took that excess wire and I threaded it back up through the seed pod and once it was up through the seed pod I wrapped it around the wire above to secure it all together and then I repeated the process on the other end of the Garland with the second tassel foreign I wouldn't have felt bad at all tossing these out so I'm really excited that I got a Garland out of it so what I'm gonna do with this Garland is I'm going to put on top of the cloche and it's going to tie all three of my Thrift flips together [Music] and the wreath inside at a local thrift store we are going to transform them and give them a makeover now the first thing that I did was I decided to paint this wheelbarrow the brown stain on it was not doing it to any favors so I decided to paint it with some white chalk paint just some spray paint that I got at Walmart I took my wheelbarrow outside and I flipped it upside down so I could start with the underside first I sprayed the paint evenly until it was completely covered and then I let it dry for about 30 minutes then I flipped it over and spray painted the top side until the entire wheelbarrow was all white then I let it dry overnight the next day I was looking at it and it seemed a little stark white so I decided to kind of make it a little more rustic and a little more aged so I got a piece of sandpaper now this sandpaper is a light sandpaper so it wasn't going to take too much of the paint off so I just sanded down the edges of the wheelbarrow and on the sides and a little bit in the bowl and it really gave it that aged patina that I was looking for so it wasn't so stark white [Music] to Jazz this will Barrel up a little bit more I got a beaded Spring Garland from Michael's it was 40 percent off however on the day I went I had a coupon for a 25 off more of my entire purchase so this Garland was around six dollars I loved the beads on it however I didn't really like the little mini eggs that were on it so I decided to cut those off because they're styrofoam they came off really easily with a sharp knife now what I did was I cut down the center of the egg not all the way through just about halfway through and then I took the string and I pulled it up through the egg now the good thing about these eggs is that I'll be able to use them for another project because I only cut halfway through so the front side is still really pretty and will be great in the wreath that I'm going to be transforming later on now that the eggs are off of my garlands I can place the wood beads right on top of the rim of my wheelbarrow now what I did was I got some hot glue and I placed a small line on the top of the rim and then I added my wooden beads right to the center of the hot glue I continued to hot glue and place the beads in the glue until the rim was covered with beads when I got to the end I snipped off the end of the string and hot glued a single bead in place to complete the circle and to complete this wheelbarrow makeover the next item that we're going to make over are these mini Grapevine wreaths now they're from the same thrift store that I got the wheelbarrow at when I got to the cashier she gave me both of them for a dollar even though it said 99 cents a piece on each one of the wreaths so yay for bargains now to begin decorating this wreath I'm going to start with a wooden skewer now you might wonder why I'm using a wooden skewer but it's going to help me to display my wreath later on so I'm going to cut the skewer to size and hot glue it to the center bottom of my wreath next I'm going to add some beautiful spring hydrangeas some white hydrangea flowers and also some other spring stems and then if you remember our cast off eggs that we cut off from the Garland well it's time to use them I'm going to place three of them in the center on the bottom I'm going to hot glue them in place so don't throw things away you might be able to use them later on because all I did was I took the cut side that was on the back and I placed that to the back of the wreath so you couldn't even see it you can only see the smooth side so we are repurposing some things that we didn't need anymore on this wreath addition to our wreath are a few blue ribbons I just placed one on top of the other I tied it into a bow and then I hot glued that bow to the top of my wreath in the end I did decide to add two more hydrangea flowers to the center of the bow I just hot glued them in place and I think that it ties all of the florals together now that I'm finished making over my thrift store items it's time to style them so I'm going to start by putting a Ramekin in the bottom of my wheelbarrow and inside of that Ramekin I'm going to put a piece of floral foam and I'm going to press it in really tightly and then I'm going to get some of this shredded paper and I'm going to place it all over the entire surface of my wheelbarrow then I'm going to take my wreath now do you remember how we have that wooden skewer poking out through the bottom well this is where it's going to come in really handy I'm going to take my wreath and I'm going to poke it into the floral foam and it will stay upright and in place now that my wreath is in place I'm going to take my votive candle holder now this votive candle holder is from Ross and it was 8.99 I brought it home and I thought you know what if I flip this over it could be a cloche so I'll take my vote of candle holder flip it over into a cloche and place the wreath right inside I'll push the cloche down on top of everything and it will just rest in the wheelbarrow and then it has this lovely large piece of glass at the top so it's a perfect place for me to put that tassel that we made so I'm going to wrap that tassel around that top portion tie it around it so it stays in place and then I'm going to let it drape nicely off to the side foreign [Music] caught my eye a few months back at a local thrift store and I really loved the shape of it and there's some really pretty detailing along the top Rim it also came with some plastic fruit which my daughter snatched up and took to her kitchen upstairs so for 3.99 I got a beautiful urn plus some fruit now it's just been sitting upstairs and I've been thinking what I can do to really bring it up to its potential because it did have some chips on the inside bowl and some discoloration so I knew I was going to have to repaint it but I also wanted to beef up the base so the way that I did that was with some terracotta pots that I got from Michael's I got two different sizes so that I could place one on top of the other to adhere them together I got some E6000 and I flipped the larger size saucer over first and I placed the E6000 along the rim just enough so that would adhere but not too much that it would seep out the sides and then I placed the smaller one on top then I took my urn and I flipped it over and I put some more E6000 along the rim of the base and then I flipped it back over and placed it on top of the Terracotta saucers [Music] now I really liked the white color of the urn so I wanted to keep it white but it needed to be repainted because of all the chippy and the discoloration so I decided to paint it in some white craft paint I got a sponge brush and my paint and I began at the bottom of the base with a terracotta and I painted it until it was fully coated and then I moved on to the urn and also gave it a coat of paint this coat covered up all the scuffs and the discolorations as well as made sure that the whites on both pieces matched perfectly once my base coat of paint was done I decided that I wanted to do something special to it so the paint technique that I used was a stippling effect because I wanted my Urn to look like concrete or stone and so this is going to give me that look so I got my sponge brush and I dipped it slightly into the paint and then I stippled it all along the base of the urn and I continued to do that until it was completely covered in this effect and then I decided to do the entire thing so I went up the base into the bowl and I stippled the whole entire piece foreign you would never know that these were separate pieces that had been glued together it looks like it was always supposed to be this way I also love the stippling effect that we got with the paint it really does make it look like a stone and I think that it looks so luxurious and so elegant it's going to be a perfect piece that's going to fit in with my home decor [Music] now I got this pumpkin at my local thrift store and it was only 2.99 which is a score because as you know these pumpkins can get really expensive so I was so excited when I saw that it was only 2.99 I'm gonna bling this pumpkin out with some gold bling wrap that I got at the Dollar Tree I'm going to cut this bling wrap into strips I want to have thin lines of Sparkle going down vertically around the entire pumpkin I cut the strips into a variety of lengths I removed the paper backing and then placed the top of the line of Bling by this stem and then pressed the sticky bling firmly onto the pumpkin I continued placing the Stirrup sibling fairly close together I wanted the entire pumpkin to sparkle and shine so I made sure that there was plenty of bling on this pumpkin [Music] foreign to the top of my pumpkin I'm going to be adding a variety of ribbons and some tulle I like using the loop and twist method when I make my bows so I made several Loops in my tool and I twisted the ends and then created another loop to secure the loops together I'm using some Thin floral wire I cut a few segments a couple inches long and I wrapped that wire around the bottom portion of the loops and then Twisted the wire together I repeated the process of looping and twisting and adding the wire to my cream and Chevron ribbon and then I made one large loop out of my burlap and lace ribbon my wire was long enough that it had some excess coming off the end after I twisted it I did that on purpose because now I can combine all of these ribbons I'll place them on top of each other and I can take that excess wire and twist it together which secures all the ribbons together to create one large ribbon now you may be wondering that's such a nice bow but how are you going to attach that to your pumpkin well I have a trick for you I'm going to get a thumbtack and I'm going to press it halfway into the pumpkin and then with that excess wire coming out of the back portion of my bow I'm going to wrap that around the tack once it's firmly around the tack really tight I'm going to press that tack all the way into the pumpkin and now my bow is securely attached to my pumpkin I'm also going to be adding a floral pick these beautiful cream florals and I'm going to do it the same way with that excess wire I'll just wrap that wire around the floral stem and it will stay in place [Music] this thrifted pumpkin went from pretty drab to Super Fab [Music] I have a grapevine wreath that I got from the same thrift store that I got the pumpkin at it was only 99 Cents and I decided to add some fall Botanicals I had some cream florals and some fall leaves what I did with these was I just poked the stem into the gaps that were on the grapevine wreath and they stayed really nicely in place then I simply took my gold photo candle holder and I placed it in the center and then I got a battery operated candle and put it inside of my glass vase and it just looks so high-end I cannot believe how fantastic this is thank you so much for watching [Music]
