Today we are going to be riding Canada’s greatest overnight sleeper train, “The Canadian” for the next 5 days. The train is even embedded in the Canadian currency!!! This is the very rough schedule for our journey. A trans-continental 4,466 km (2,775 mi) 97-hour journey. The channel's longest trip to date, and the first outside Japan. (This video will feature half the train journey from Day 1-2.) We booked the Sleeper plus Solo Compartment. All meal, breakfast, lunch, and dinner is included. For a grand total of 2,500 cad/2,000 USD Or 500 cad per day. 🥲 We will be riding Train 1 from gate 16. Welp, here we go. Kinda nervous even as I am excited. The train arrives. Clap Clap Clappity Clap. A whopping 26-car configuration. Equivalent 2 laps around the track, 5 minutes just to walk from the rear to the front. A long long train for the long long journey. This train was born in 1953 and is now 69 years old. A literal Boomer train, a grandma of a train. This is kinda exciting. This is our train car. Train Car 0118. Armrest Manor. “At the end of the corridor is your room.” This is my room. The Sleeper Plus Solo Compartment. 2,500 Cad~. (2,000 USD) 2,500 Cad~. My luck has been shattered by reality. ITS GOING TO GET SO AWKWARD. Anyways let’s just stare into the menu. Pulled pork sandwich. Shrimp and scallops. Daily Pasta. Veggie burger. First is Soup. Red like the Canadian flag meaning... it’s probably a famous Canadian soup. Tastes like Canada. This is the lunch. Shrimp and scallops. And grass. There are red vegetables in my salad. Rare Canadian vegetables. Oh, I even get dessert. How lucky. Chocolate ice cream. Bone apple tea. Heading deep into the Canadian wilderness. Room👏Tour👏Time. Here we have the sink corner. The Sink. Not Drinkable tap water. Drinkable tap water. Tissue paper. Tissue box Amenities include... The towel. The smaller towel. The smallest towel. Cup Earplugs. Soap. Lotion. Shampoo. What is this? Here we have a toilet. Do not question the Canadian way. A nice constellation curtain. A lovely detail. 2 hangers. Light fixtures. A fan. Power outlets. Storage space. More storage space. and this is the... Bedd. LET'S ENJOY THE TRIP! ONLY 75 HOURS TO GO!!! This is our view for now. We will witness the Canadian Shield. Grasslands. And the Canadian Rockies. Very excited. It is time for a train tour. This is the Economy car. 500 Cad/400 Usd (Toronto to Vancouver) A great opportunity to break your back. Food is not included but can be purchased in the lounge car. Economy car users have access to 1 of the 4 dome cars. From here on is for sleeper car passengers only. The diner car. Great for dining. I ordered the beef tenderloin. Looks tasty. The recommended medium-rare. I will end my day by eating a Via Rail cake. 9 hours in and this is our progress. No hair dryer on the train. Improvise, adapt, overcome. Don’t know the reason but I’m super drained. Good nighters. Day 2. Where are we? 5 days might have been a mistake. Only 3200km/2000 miles to go. With great power comes clean windows. Yes, please clean all of the dirt off. Good morning from my first morning on The Canadian. Very good tea. Same scenery for hours upon hours. Lakes and trees. Sometimes civilization. Hello, breakfast. Today's menu looks like this. Trans-Continental breakfast. Omelette. Waffles Continental breakfast. And so forth. I got the toasted bread. With the Trans-Continental breakfast. Bacon. Scrambled eggs. Quite different from the ones served at Mcdonald's. Canada, the epicenter of melon breakfast culture. This is probably the equivalent of having pineapples on a pizza. Time flies when having fun. 8:00 AM. Intersecting with the "#2 the Canadian train" from Vancouver. Last few hours to Toronto. Only trees and lakes ahead of their journey. Good luck, "#2 the Canadian train." Yoga time. Meanwhile, at the diner car... Lunch. Burger. Pasta. And so forth. Chicken soup. Dinner in the middle of the Canadian wilderness. Canadian soup once again. We finally did it. We crossed the first border. We are in Manitoba state. As a celebration, the waitress started to hand out the meals. Pork tenderloin. with a FAT broccoli. I let the fork slip into the broccoli and delivered it to my mouth. I’m glad to tell you that it tasted better than a patch of grass. And before I knew it. The plate. Was still full. Thank you via rail staff for the fat broccoli. Very grateful. For dessert is a raspberry mousse cake. Tasted nothing like moose. But tasty nonetheless. Bone apple tea. 4 hours later. We have finally arrived in a city. Winnipeg. The birthplace of Winnie the Pooh? Could be a lie. Wonderful weather we are having today. Human rights museum.
