[Music] spee [Music] good morning everyone if you can't tell already I am not in San Francisco I'm actually in Koto Japan I'm taking a trip out here to Japan for 9 days with my family we're going to be doing 3 days in Kyoto 2 Days in Osaka and then 4 days in Tokyo I believe this is my first time in Japan so excited would definitely be an understatement I think a lot of Japanese inspiration for Designing my apartment Japanese Cuisine is my absolute favorite food in the entire world and then I feel like there's also just a lot of things about sort of Japan as a country that I think is really amazing and I'm just super super excited to experience on this trip and so the things that I'm really going to keep an eye out for are number one the food so expect to see lots of sort of food reviews and just restaurant highlights I'm also really looking forward to seeing the various architecture Styles and so expect to also see a lot of design and interior content and then I'm also going to be doing a little bit of shopping I actually forgot to bring a bag for my camera which is kind of a big L cuz now I have to carry it around by hand so definitely also going to be hitting up a lot of clothing stores and in particular thrift stores cuz I know there's a lot of amazing vintage in secondhand stores this is also my first time going on vacation with my family I feel like ever since before Co so also just super looking forward to spending time with my family and speaking of that I got to go meet up with them because they left a little bit ago to go get some coffee so I'm going to go meet up with them right now and kick off day number one in Japan [Music] I can be you all just a SYM you forgotten you SLI me in your pocket turn off the television set me in the corner now take colors your won't you hear me out you're painting on my features and everything you needed don't put me on the sh no I never find another don't ask me what my name means I don't believe in that conversations will sign pull my strings and watch me come apart for you I don't believe in that trouble speaking whenever you're around and tell me what you want to do I don't believe in that in pieces inside you pull my strings and watch me come apart for you I don't believe in that I don't believe in that I wonder what you dream about out the window darling I'm Wishing on a Star too go start talking walking right beside you cut off the strings and put me down tell me what I'm missing oh I never listen to The Crickets on my shoulder so we just finished with lunch and it was a very traditional sort of set course menu what' you think was it good pretty good it was really good but honestly wasn't that much food so I think I'm probably going to continue to get snacks and then I also didn't bring a camera bag so me and my sister are also going to go shopping to hopefully find myself a bag I found some secondhand thrift stores that I think should be good but yeah let's see what we can [Music] find for [Music] they need [Music] [Music] he n [Music] n [Music] [Music] for dinner we went to this conveyor belt sushi restaurant whose sister restaurant is actually a Michelin St place in Ginza you order everything directly on these touch screens and after a short wait the food gets directly delivered to you on this conveyor belt I actually really liked how everything was freshly prepared and directly sent to you instead of just going continuously on a conveyor boat like a lot of other spots I tried a lot of different fish and honestly every single piece that I had was just absolutely delicious and melting in my mouth but I have to say some standouts were definitely the the true Toro which is the medium fatty part of the tuna the Ura which is marinated salmon row and of course one of my favorites uni which is sea urin this particular spot actually had three different types of OI and it was really interesting to be able to try them all side by side I couldn't really choose a favorite though because they were all so delicious and the oi was so sweet and custardy these three different cuts of Yellow Tail were also just melting in my mouth overall I'd probably give this place an 8.9 out of 10 I think for this fast casual concept the quality was top tier it was just a little bit pricey and of course we had to get dessert afterwards so we got these Matra and strawberry soft Serv from a nearby dessert spot [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] D I already ate it all you want some there's nothing in there doesn't matter how [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] so now we're walking up the hushim Inari Shrine and it's pretty cool but there are a lot of tourists I feel like all the cool videos you see on Instagram where there's just like one person walking down is pretty hard to get but still pretty cool [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] cat like you better [Music] we just transferred from our Airbnb in Kyoto and now we are in a different Airbnb in Osaka for the next 2 days we honestly didn't do too much planning on what to do in Osaka but the main thing we're here for is the food because I know Osaka is supposed to have some amazing food especially for the price in comparison to a place like Tokyo so definitely expecting to be eating a lot of good food it is now 6:00 p.m. so we're going to head into the main part of the city to get dinner even though I am very [Music] [Applause] [Music] tired for dinner we were craving some wagy beef so we went to this Yaki niku place called yoshia in Doon bori for some grilled Meats over charcoal you can see all those amazing cuts of wagy which we'll be trying right here we started off some sake to share because this is the first time I've been 21 on a family trip and so it's definitely pretty fun and very interesting to be drinking with my family they had a bunch of refreshing vegetables to kind of accompany the meat and then here is all of the amazing wag which I am super super excited to eat to cook the meat you put it on this charcoal grill that's in the middle of the table and then you sort of cook yourself kind of like Korean barbecue in the States you get a very clean Smoky flavor from grilling the meat over charcoal instead of using something like a traditional gas stove and the meat was absolutely perfect it was so so juicy and as you can see here this first bite was just amazing and the beef was so soft we tried around five or six different cuts of meat and every single piece was melt in your mouth and overall I'd give this place a solid 8.5 out of 10 I think the meat quality was really amazing but the side dishes and also just the value could have been a little bit better [Music] [Music] better bre that [Music] s [Music] [Music] I think this is the regular right yeah do you Havey [Music] all the M are so good coffee also [Music] good Osaka is known for its nightlife and even though I'm not someone that drinks too much I had to experience it at least once so for our second night in Osaka I went out for drinks and some casual food with my sister we decided to get Yakitori which is a pretty common Japanese street food which consists of grilled vegetables and meat skewers and we decided to do all you can drink sakeet with it which was surprisingly only $10 which is absolutely crazy all of the skewers are really good these are some fish and shrimp skewers and then we had some chicken meatball skewers and then this is charcoal grilled old chicken which is interesting to me I feel like in America I don't know the ages of the chicken that we eat here's a video of our waiter topping off our socket glasses and honestly I swear he was trying to get us drunk because look how full he poured these glasses every single time I think by the end of the night I had around five or six of these which is probably the equivalent of like 10 glasses of sake in the US and we ended the meal with this raw egg yolk over rice this was also my first time drinking alone with my sister since she's 6 years older than me and we never really had a period of time where we were both in the same city and we could go out together like this and so it was really fun just to be able to drink and just talk with her and then after dinner we met up with one of my sister's friends who is also in Osaka and then we hit a bar to get a few more drinks and after this I was definitely really feeling it so we went out for some more late night snacks and this time we got melon bread which I didn't really know a thing but my sister could not stop talking about this since the last time she came to Japan so we went to the stand on the street that served us melon bread with a scoop of strawberry ice cream in it and I got to say after a long night of drinking this was the absolute perfect way to end the night except maybe for this guy dressed up as a wolf playing this instrument which I had no idea what was going on but it was definitely pretty funny [Music]
