pilot's license and you're in the market these are genuine airplanes to consider buying if you have thirty thousand dollars to about a hundred thousand dollars sit in and keep in mind you don't have to pay all cash for any of these birds you can literally finance them similar to the same way you finance a car so let's jump right into it the first airplane we're looking at you guessed it is the cessna 150 but this is no ordinary 150 particularly the 150m the older generation that went out right before the 152 came around if you buy a later model of the cessna 150 you're lucky because you get better improvement to the airframe and to the stability of the aircraft so generally speaking you get a more stable platform and better performance for the same price the cessna 150 is the perfect aircraft for any pilot who is either training or if you're just looking for an airplane for short hops the range in the 150m is about 400 to 500 miles you're not sucking in a lot of gas you're burning maybe seven to eight gallons of fuel per hour and at that rate you're cruising closer to 100 miles per hour the cessna 150m only has room for two so you can take a passenger and put some baggage in the back but the best part of this aircraft is the price for 25 000 to 30 thousand dollars you can get a well-maintained flying machine next is the beachcraft sundowner here's an aircraft that doesn't get mentioned often or ever because when you think of beechcraft you think of the more popular models aka the beachcraft bonanza but unlike the bonanza which has a retractable landing gear the beechcraft sundowner is more for the beginner pilot this is more of a trained platform you can buy this aircraft either to get more certifications or you can use it as a personal aircraft the range in the sundowner is 600 miles you're cruising around 120 miles per hour and you can carry two to three people as passengers the beechcraft sundowner is equipped with the lycoming io 180 horsepower engine if you know about the lycomin io 360 this is considered a bulletproof engine ergonomically i personally like the sundowner because you have two doors really do you have two doors with an aircraft that is this old so you can get in either from the pilot side or the passenger side into a roomy cabin and both seats up front can be scooted up or backwards depending on the condition you find this airplane the beechcraft sundowner can be equipped with ifr equipment so you can also get your ifr ticket in this airplane the best part is that you can find a beechcraft sundowner for forty thousand dollars to fifty thousand dollars next we have the jabro j230 this is actually a more modern airplane and the j230 is considered a light sport but it performs just as good as any certified two-seater or four-seater airplane when you see a j230 in person it actually looks more like a four-seater airplane although you only have two seats but when you jump in the cabin you've got enough room in the back to put another row of seats the jabra j230 is the perfect aircraft for a solo pilot or a pilot that only carries one passenger the best comparable aircraft is maybe the cessna 150 but you get double the performance with this plane for one you have 120 horsepower the range in the jabra j230 is 940 miles so you can go long distance in this aircraft and this is what cruising at 132 miles per hour you can find a mid 2000 model of the jabra j230 anywhere from 50 000 to 60 000 next on the list is the cessna 172m this should come at no surprise the cessna 172 is like the godfather of all single engine certified airplane as a matter of fact the 172 is the most produced aircraft ever and the reason is because this airplane can fit a lot of missions it's been proven over the years to be stable and safe and it's readily available for any pilots who's looking to fly one whether you're brand new or you've been flying for a long time a 172 can fit the bill with a later model of the 172 that's built in the 70s you get a little bit more with a slightly better engine at 160 horsepower you've got enough range to go over 500 miles and you're cruising at 120 miles per hour the cessna 172 depending on how much fuel you put in there you can fit up to four people but chances are with full field you probably have to take one person or two people off the plane but when you think about your the link in the description below last plane we're checking out today is the diamond da40 almost never have we included this airplane in a top five list but make no mistake the diamond d840 is one of the safest aircraft you can possibly get your hands on and the reason we've kept it off the list is because it's fairly expensive but it's 20 20 and if you look in the right places you may be able to find a da40 for under a hundred thousand dollars i personally can vote for this aircraft because i got my private pilot license in a diamond da40 a 2005 model this airplane can be used for both training and a personal aircraft you've got enough room for four people and with the lycoming io 360 engine you've got 180 horsepower that's pulling you now given that the early models of the d840 you're not gonna get a lot of performance out of it on a hot summer day you may be climbing at 500 feet per minute also given that the engine is air cooled you want to limit the steepness of that nose whenever you're climbing but outside of that d840 is one of the most reliable airplane you can get your hands on it's also economical only burns about 9 to 10 gallons of fuel per hour and you can go about 500 to 600 miles in this plane the cabin is very roomy you've got leather seats and plenty of d840s come with a glass cockpit generally a g1000 for a four-seater airplane that will cruise between 120 and 150 miles per hour you can't really go wrong at a hundred thousand dollars later model of the da40 will cost you a lot more you're looking at between 300 to maybe half a million
