#34 1978 Cessna T310R - FOR SALE - Quick Test Flight and Overview

hey it's rich back with you for another video today i'm doing a review on a 1978 cessna turbo 310r uh the 310rs were one of the last versions that cessna made of this model and uh this one has 5000 hours total time on it really nice some upgraded avionics speed brakes so we're gonna take you along for a quick flight and show you the airplane [Music] last time extras come up [Laughter] did we ever set the lax radio 145 no i'm not gonna need it okay [Music] positive right [Music] tears up [Music] climbing off of long beach in this 1978 310r turbo 310r uh the 310 i think was the first airplane that says the first multi-engine airplane cessna built after world war ii certified in 1954 and they made it all the way through 1980 the 310r was the last one they made and i believe they made about 1300 310 cars and turbo leaking 310 center one three two point five i'm guessing here but i bet you they've made somewhere in the neighborhood of four thousand maybe thirty five hundred three tens in a span of from 1954 to 1980. a pretty popular airplane for cessna a good cross-country machine and this is the last variant again the three the turbo 310r and you see a lot of them around people that i've known that have had them like them you know pretty fast good load haulers and obviously to continue to make them for that period of time it had to be a pretty popular airplane so this is a 1978 turbo 310r it has 5000 hours total time right around a thousand 1200 on the motors uh it's got some good upgrades avionics it's got a 750 aztec autopilot a newer garmin transponder the jpi i think that's a 930 upgraded engine instruments and it's also got speed brakes vg's take the gross weight up i think about 180 pounds this airplane has a uh i think about almost a 1600 pound useful load 160 gallons of gas so you get 100 in the mains which are the tip tanks and then the ox tanks hold 60 gallons and so pretty good range i think in the brook they say this thing does like 210 knots at 15 000 feet on about uh 30 gallons an hour is kind of the the book speed for it and uh this airplane's a really good four mile shape the paint's good it's got uh it's got some systems that are in op that he didn't use i think the oxygen and the boots for the current owner just didn't find that traffic juice block in that's four miles north eastbound seven thirty seven seven out of eight thousand three ten bravo boxes all right so we're cruising now at eight thousand five hundred or catalina island and just uh we just set it up and um the autopilot works really good uh the airplane's smooth the engines are running good got a few things that need to be worked on but nothing major all in all it's a real solid feeling airplane and uh [Music] these these late model 310 ours are kind of hard to find so if you're interested in i think there's like six of them on the market but if this is an airplane you might be interested you should give us a call the current owners had it for like 15 years [Music] happy to talk to you about it if you're interested something like this you can find out more on it on controller.com and thanks for watching [Music] [Music] here's down three green flaps or land whoa a little catching uh [Music] throttles there zero clear land [Music] bye
