today's Retro Gaming build is insane it has 32 terabytes everything from Atari and everything in between including magazines and manuals and obscure systems arcade systems consoles handhelds you name it it has it all and on top of all of that you can actually play this on four different front ends so what you're looking at right now is retrat right retrat is pretty cool you can install your own themes you can put this on any computer or an Asus Ally you know any Windows based system and uh it looks great right well there's three other systems uh did I mention you can play everything from Atari to for example here you have the latest switch games uh as well Xbox PlayStation 1 2 3 uh it has it all and now we are in another front end we're in coinops coinops is the second front end that it can run and you'll see here you have multiple systems you can choose from so depending on how you like the looks or how you like the controls you can configure the different front ends you know here we are running PSP um every single system on here you get the complete ROM set so when you get a system you get every single game for that system now here's Big Box launchbox big box your third option for a front end did I mention that you can customize all those download additional themes and change the colors and things like that that's all customizable for you yes as many of my commenters have asked this one does have Killer Instinct Arcade variant on it and then for the last and fourth front end here we have hypers spin that's running off of rocket launcher and so you can choose any of these four front ends and they all work okay not only did the four front ends work but you can you have SN and light gun support you have arcade support Marquee support uh you name it they have it Discord Channel Facebook group pretty wild so I was sent these drives and so I'm just going to share with you my experience with them and uh showcase them but it's definitely a work of art you could tell there was a lot of work put into this and I haven't seen such a complete build yet this is definitely up there and so let's go ahead and we'll start out showing you the front ends the games the emulators uh then I'm going to go into the actual drives I received how it all works um you have a couple options uh my setup experience and then lastly we'll get into some gameplay some emulation performance but also uh my final thoughts on the build all right so here we are we're in hypers spin the hypers spin build has a ton of wheels these are all little wheels that you're seeing here I'm just going on the right side there and I'll go in occasionally and look at what we have like clone hero for example you know that is a really you know special add-on you know that not not many people include on their builds you don't see them very often but if you want to play any of the Guitar Hero games on your computer you can easily do that now with clone hero prein so as we move through here you got Dance Dance Revolution and these are not only the arcade variants but also the um console variants as well now pinball there's like eight different pinball categories you got pinball FX1 2 and three you got uh future pinball you've got uh all the different pinballs and uh he has most of the software on there too so if you want to set up like a virtual pinball machine or something like that I don't think I don't know if it's all there but it's like a lot of that stuff is included um you know I myself would just be throwing this on a desktop but I still enjoy some pinball and uh like I said with the controller options you can be able to you know use an arcade stick or an Xbox 360 controller or something else so here we go we um just showing you some of these tables for the pinball games and the different pinball machines there's quite a few to choose from um once we get through Pinball it's just going to get [Music] crazier I wanted to show at least one preview for each uh table just to show you how Wild the graphics are you know all these videos all these Graphics they have it all and they're all populated um especially for these four front ends the only front end that I ran into that wasn't like completely set up was if you want to run regular launch box it's not really set up for that you can run you can use it but like it's not all blinged out and not all the graphics are there Etc but if you run big box which is better than launchbox for visually it works just fine so now on your screen we're going through the collections and as you see on the collections there's pretty much every you know uh uh publisher as as well as every uh main uh you know uh franchise out there you know everything from Bomberman Super Mario Raiden you name it Killer Instinct Street Fighter so if you want like different games from different uh eras you know from different systems both arcade and console you can just go directly to their collection or you can uh go to the the console or arcade and then find it that way as well there is a search functionality in all these front ends uh if you press I think I on your controller either X or I or one of the upper buttons um and uh that then you can search through the uh you know find a specific game and occasionally I'm hitting the back button that's why I ask if it says do you want to go do you want to quit in order to quit uh you just go back if you hit back twice F if you want to quit the um hypers spin now as far as this video goes we will be spending a lot of time in hypers spin just because it looks kind of the most blingy you know if I was was young and I saw this at a young age I'd be like oh my God you know where where have I gone what how do you know this is like the biggest candy store in the world um but if you don't like a blingy like this there's other front ends that are more subdued as well you can also kind of get rid of Collections and things like that if there's too many options on the menu you know a lot of the comments on these videos are you never pick a game you would spend your whole day searching through a game or the comments are you know you uh you would never have you nobody has enough time to play even a third of these games and I would agree I would absolutely agree but uh we live in a life of of just plentiful of everything right bigger is better for some people now uh you could build I always like to mention in these videos you could build this to your own by yourself you know build these front ends from the start or you know from the ground up and uh get the systems you want cuz like I said you might not want all this but a lot of people like these plug andplay already set up for you so say like Nintendo switch for example that we're passing by right now you know downloading the Yuzu uh emulator and then getting your keys installed installing the firmware getting the ROMs can be uh quite difficult especially for a newbie and so here it's all set up for you um and then there's the issue of file size as well and bandwidth and all other kinds of things so um as you see here EV basically it's got it all if if the system you can go to the website if you want to double check any of these systems they're there um you can see whether they have the system or not if they do have the system I can tell you that more than likely it's a complete ROM set so I clicked into MS DOS here just to show you like what it might look like within a system but just tons of games all those old MS DOS games like X-Wing and all that stuff are going to be in there uh if you're into that and the nice thing about it being on a computer and oh we just passed a bunch of stuff too with uh you know magazines Juke boox commercials yeah there we go we're going back flash games those are kind of the little bonuses or Easter eggs that uh I wanted to make sure to show that are like kind of nice now I've reviewed builds before that have all that stuff as well but um you know this has all that plus four different front ends so now we're in uh coinops yes this is coinops you could tell because there's a little heart in the bottom right hand corner and uh another front end uh great fun easy to use uh more subdued visually um again coinops has different themes you can change kind of how it looks but really I'm just doing a really fast scroll here so you could see the systems and uh what's included you can favorite things you can search for things um you could do that on most the front ends uh on here um but uh there's no music on right now you can you know it doesn't have background music that's why it's not not nearly as loud as the other ones but when you do go into the the actual systems there is going to be the video snaps and there's going to be audio on the game if you want a specific game and again you have the collections as well like Donkey Kong uh Castlevania Street Fighter so you can click in and find your favorite game now here's what I was talking about earlier so it does come with launchbox like this but as you see here only certain systems are it has a huge list and you know some of the graphics are working you know some are not it's not it's not you're not supposed to be running it like this in the regular old Launch Box you want to run big box so um once you get into Bean big box it'll look like this and so here is your big box and as you see here it's totally complete all your consoles on the right side over here have the correct graphic and if you go into a system it'll have all the games available to you that were uh on the build but uh launchbox is beautiful the other thing I like about launchbox uh is that you know you when you go to settings the settings are very comprehensive so everything from accessing the emulators are really easily to change easy to change your controls add a second player third player fourth player um easy to change the resolution easy to change the theme you know it's not necessarily that difficult on the other ones but launchbox um in my opinion is more user friendly from a menu standpoint you're not messing with um any kind of file structures or file explorer or anything [Music] so just going through the systems again this might be kind of a repeat but I just wanted to show you more so the graphics and how uh pretty it is so I'm just going to skip to the next system though we're not going to go through every single one all right now let's look at some of the bigger ROM sets that I'm sure many of you want to see so like PSP i' like to show PSP here because as a collector you know these are some expensive games they also scratch cuz they're on a CD so it's always nice to have the ability to play the game save your state rewind and even uh playing these games in a higher resolution you can up the resolution on the PPSSPP emulator and so they're fun you know fun games to emulate you know I play Tony Hawk later in the video but uh as you see here complete full ROM sets there's also I think like a Japanese PSP collection so a lot of these systems will actually have different regions included as well um so depending on if there's a game that was in one region but not another it should be included so here's just a few of them um another system that probably people want to see is PlayStation um and then also uh I think I do 3DS here because so 3DS there's a 3DS Japan and then you know the um the North America 3DS and again a system where some of these games are pretty expensive and so um these games are it's a full ROM set so if there's a game you're looking for there it's on there there all right now PlayStation 3 um another system CD based you know you don't want to scratch those CDs and as you see you know complete set here and uh this is where a lot of that space is on if you're going to go you know with 16 tab or something like that but uh a lot of great games and as far as emulation goes and performance you know PlayStation 3 will require a dedicated graphics card you know like a 1660 I would say at a minimum around there I'd look for um this video I'm producing on a 3070 and so I have no issue emulating that whatsoever but that's Overkill compared to what you might need for this um so PlayStation 2 another great system one of the best selling systems ever made and uh another disc based system and another system where somebody these games is just ridiculous how expensive they can get and so uh as you see here I'm just doing a hard scroll because the PlayStation 2 had like thousands of games so um you know we're not going to go through all 1,000 but I'm doing a fast scroll so you can see as many games as you possibly can but yes it is ridiculous it is ridiculous [Music] yeah we're still going it's [Music] [Music] ridiculous all right pretty wild right crazy how much there is there there um so Sega Saturn is another system I don't think I show in this video but you know City based expensive games good to play that stuff uh Wii U again certain games are pretty pricey um and uh some of the games you don't need motion controls you know so you can still play him same with the Wii and then it has Nintendo switch as well and then the GameCube as well I think we're going to end up in GameCube at some point uh again that that system is just ridiculous the system itself is cheap but like the games are just ridiculous how much some of them are like Wario Land and you know other things like Silent Hill all that stuff is just ridiculous so all the games oh there's a couple oh we found a couple these of art there that weren't there everything is is is pretty uh is pretty unique and has their own uh graphics and everything so we'll do uh GameCube last here we should be [Music] careful all right we're wrapping up some of the games this is just a couple of the systems yes it's that ridiculous for all the other systems and uh let's go next we're going to show you the drives I actually got and then we'll show the install and then we'll do some emulation and final thoughts so here we go so this did come with two 16 tbte hard drives you got one here one here this is one one way to do it to get 32 gigs remember there's other ways you can buy individual hard drives or you can download to Cloud everything from you know under 10 terabytes to multiple of tens of terabytes here are the main features on your screen right here let's go through them on as you scroll down here number one the biggest deal here it is four different front ends uh set up for big box retrat coinops or hyperspin you can run any of those four or all four it's totally up to you the update system as well as the file system that he throws down here uh he shows you like how he does his files very easy to use you can update it once a year or once a month as he you know makes uh improvements as they you know roll out updates maybe different ROM sets things like that uh so super easy to do they also have a community both uh a patreon a Facebook group and a Discord channel uh additionally they do like um you know other types of support support if you have a specific problem they can help you out uh full ROM sets that was the other point I don't know if you saw that but um you know none of this you know oh is it missing this game it's missing that game uh most English games are on there and it even has like comic books or not comic books magazines manuals like even some little um you know uh Easter eggs in there as well depending on which collection you get speaking of collection there's um you know the controls are another big thing where are they right here yeah so they do have led Blinky if you want to do LED you want to do like an arcade stick something like that gun support this is really cool actually um it comes pre-installed with all that software so if you have a snen light gun or an aim track it's going to have you covered with all the different emulators whether you want to play light gun games for like techno parrot or if you want to play for you know PlayStation 2 you know some Time Crisis they got you covered they also have hyper Marquee as well all that stuff is uh included um basically what I'm getting is it pretty much does everything possible um so there's three ways you can get it from the looks of it here you can either download it um he gives you like some sort of FTP or something you can download that way uh you can send them or there it is right here the cloud version uh you could send them a uh drive and then they'll they'll they'll you know put things on it and then send it back to you or you can have them buy a drive for you I'm sure there's quite a bit of things here uh looks like they support Game Room Solutions really cool company there um so great stuff and uh I think I covered everything let's go ahead and reload this really quick oh the setup thing I'm going to go over in just a second how easy it is to set up um updates super easy to do gun support full Marquee yeah so there you go all this stuff it's it's no joke it it does it all and another thing I forgot to mention was the setup oh it changes there uh it says 25 minute setup so he has it so you can um I'll show you in the file system here basically it teaches you how to uh change your drive letter and then you just click this button right here and the install setup process installs every it's like a whole script you have to go through but it prompts you so it's like a oneclick setup so you can do it yourself it sets the whole entire thing up for you um or you know if you do get stuck or whatever you can um you know you can ask for help but there's also on top of this if you go over here there's video lessons and tutorials where he actually has a video on how to do everything from join the Discord uh getting into the Facebook group updating so it's all there ready to go and like I said it does have four operating systems right so you have retrat you can go into retrat do retrat you got launchbox here with big box you have coin Ops if you want to run coin Ops and then uh I think is it arcade yeah that's going to be your hyperspin right so you have all four builds that you can use the S S what is it s covery is um how he updates your system if you want to update it you use that program there uh help with button layout the LED Blinky if you're running an arcade uh general information about the drives and how the the the paths work and then uh he even includes notes about the emulators as well to help you out on the per emulator basis and so here is the actual install you can see on the right side there there's like a a bunch of different items and it's going through each one and it it sets up all your controls whether you're using an Xbox controller or a joystick it sets up the SN in light gun or any kind of light guns it even sets up the pinball games for you it sets up the MS Doss games for you so you know there's so many different emulators and the way you use them are all different they need directex they need all the windows um distribution files and uh so you know this does it all it goes through every single step by step by step you say okay okay okay it really does take about 25 minutes so that is a little long you know but it's you set it up once and you're good to go um you know a lot of the stuff I already had installed on this particular computer but it just you just have to go through the motions and um if you go f like if you have a lot of the stuff installed I I was actually get through got through in about 10 minutes but if it's your first install you know just give yourself some time uh you also want to watch the videos make sure you do every step correctly but um you know it's basically one you know one application has everything for you to get through the whole install process to play you know over 50 different systems with over five different devices you know light guns mice joysticks all that stuff all right here we go emulation time we're going to be going through Mame games we're going to play Nintendo switch GameCube PS2 uh some uh Genesis games so just watch even second model 2 second model 3 so like I said it has every arcade system every console you can think of they all run great the only reason why they're not going to run great is if your computer's just not up to par to run it but but other than that it's working great the shaders are on it's all optimized things like that it's running really well so what are my thoughts on this build well uh first do know I always like to reiterate my PSA that in all these builds you can build it yourself all this stuff is available for free online and you can build your own backup and do your own thing like this and pick your front end or do multiple front ends it's all out there in the Wild on the internet and you can do that now some people are going to be drawn to this though for a couple of reasons and I'm going to tell you why number one Plug and Play you know people are just don't want to deal with all that setup especially like I said earlier you know like the Nintendo switch emulator or even PS2 emulator you know some of that stuff getting all the game pads working or even the light gun can be really intimidating getting that all set up in the settings and everything else where all that stuff are whether you're putting this in an arcade machine whether you're setting up a light gun whether you're using an Xbox 360 controller no matter what your controller or what you know your device uh this thing has a lot of that done for you remember I mentioned pinball games earlier like all that stuff is going to be uh you know good to go and um so it's a plug andplay through and through device and you set it up and it's all there and there's support services for you if you have a specific issue nothing in this video is doctored I had one question throughout my whole setup process but mind you I've played with a lot of these machines before and basically the only thing I ran into was there's like a security code in order to get this thing working to get to start with uh and so I just needed a code and then it worked um the uh introduction uh or um the first time you install you know it did take me close to you know 45 minutes or so because you just have to go through everything and I wanted to watch the videos as well and just make sure I didn't miss anything uh but overall you know it is plug-and play and if this is what you're looking for I just like to show people you know hey you can build it yourself but there's so many of these pre-built things out there on the internet and how do you know what you're actually getting and what's actually included and you know the website's going to say one thing but what what is it actually like when you have it in your hands so as far as the pros and cons the cons I see one is just the the fact that you have to pay for it right you know some people they just don't want to pay for something like this so I get that the other con being yeah you need to trust the source you're getting it from I get that you can always install this on a computer that's not connected to the internet and or you know you can always check things out uh on your own time but as far as the pros just really easy to use plug-and playay I like that you can do the two terabyte one or you can go up to 32 gigabytes and I'm sure that will expand over time the other big Pro like I said is going to be people who have issues with controllers and want to use different controllers um and then as well as the front ends like you literally have this is basically like HomeTown Buffet of retro gaming builds um so it's you know weigh your pros and cons or probably some other things I'm not mentioning but for the most part you know watch the video I showed you everything you can make your own judgment but uh that's what I think let me know youall think don't forget to like And subscribe and we'll catch you on the next one look
