32 Year Old Chili and 38 Year Old Beer | Ashens

hello cast your mind back to the heady days of 1985 well unless you weren't born then never cast your mind back to a time before you were born you may see the very face of God itself and God hates that anyway 1985 was a year where this man was famous Davey Allison there he is with his hat and his moustache doesn't even nigel mansell actually if you remember him and I tell you what old Davey Allison here was an American race car driver you probably guessed that from the whole winner's circle and you know checkered flag stuff there I believe he's a NASCAR driver which is something I don't really understand I think it's like the thing where they drive around really really really fast in big circles there's probably a lot more to it map the only way you ever seen a scarred actually portrayed in the American media that you get over here is they use it as a kind of shorthand for the fans are hillbillies for some reason I don't know what happened there maybe a NASCAR fan upset everybody in the media once 20 years ago when the fact remains daily elephan was a bloody good NASCAR driver and made his own chili with beans Davey's oh and recipe everybody now normally when you get celebrity endorsements like this is [ __ ] you know they just pay to have the face flats on but I can believe that somebody had their own chili recipe because you know a lot of people do I think this is a far more believable one than most of them we get anyway it's made by Bunker Hill packing corporation so I'm assuming Bunker Hill was actually the company that mass-produced it and was inspected in part by the Department of Agriculture establishing 85 not noticed if yes to add no wonder that means it could eat Cody wasn't established in the year 85 nine is it one day there will be a country called America and we will inspect their food and my god that would be with ingredients water ray beef ray pinto beans catsup ketchup catsup ketchup capsid I've seen symptoms tomato paste flavorings modified mood modified food starch man feeling really down today can I have some modified food starch to make me happy dehydrated onions Tabasco sauce specifically named on their wheat flour salt garlic and vinegar to heat and key content in the saucepan probably guess my bill I have enjoyed my own special chili recipe since I was a kid now you can enjoy that same great chili taste in your own kitchen ah thanks Davey Allison so he wants to hear about the tragic death oh he wants to hear the tale of Darth Plagueis the wise mo the tragic death of Davey Allison and basically he had himself a a helicopter and he flew the helicopter and he crashed it and died and his friend in the helicopter but the friend did survive so it's not an entirely tragic but it's still pretty nasty that was back in 1993 and basically crash was apparently because he was an inexperienced pilot and the helicopter winner been eating I had to correct it seems to be the official word in it which is all very sad and very reminiscent actually of Colin McRae who was a scottish rally driver very famous for the you know Colin McRae Rally and Colin McRae dirt games Codemasters published on only different console formats and PC as well probably I can't remember who died in a helicopter crash flying it himself in the year 2007 wasn't it that was much worse though wasn't it because he's them he had like a very young son like 5 years old or something on board he died as well and like two family friends were killed and in fact I believe that was from an experience when there's the crash investigation basically said he's not flying too low for basing no reason very showing off for something awful and that his license had been expired for a couple years basically and it was bad news from McRae and bad news for Davi out look here is an official ashen public service announcement if you are a racing driver of any type do not buy and fly your own helicopter have you got that guys don't do it ah Deary me well anyway tragedy over this Chili's 30 years old that may prove to be a minor tragedy but yeah it looks odd on there the beans look very large maybe it's a very small bowl now tinned food I'm not usually too worried about because you know you find it in fallout 4 and it's still fine to eat but it's slightly distended like the top is a little bit more bulk time than it should be which means yeah it's very strong I'm going to say those gases escaping from this which usually means the stuff inside has gone rancid so that may be bad news and deeds I mean there is meeting it you know as it says here beef quite literally so can't think of anything else to say so we're going to have to have a look at it if you're wondering where this design of Bowl comes from I think I've mentioned it before but they were free with their mobile petrol like probably about the time this was actually concurrent here so this stretches back to 1985 which is apparently pretty much the only yields made so we can date it quite easily like that because there's no actual dates on here which is odd this just means something's nuts got that established a59 thing again I keep saying established it doesn't mean that right where is the area this is the absolutely horrible slightly rusty to notice of a use for expired tins only as we sold it remember I say about gases everybody that's not good that ain't good and I've just checked the goodness scale and it's saying zero yep that ain't good at all that's run more vile than I expected there's no smell as yet I was actually going to heat this up and see how it goes but I'm not sure that's going to happen that yeah I think it's maybe a little bit too far gone you see how actually to be quite dark and less looking like they glow dog food which is kind of what we got going on here gggg oh there has been chemical reactions nothing cold no dear that's not good oh dear see a gloopy though there's much worse than I thought right I'm gonna sniff it there's no smell um obvious sign just smells of chili I suppose it would really would make a scene a yellow spices magnet but it don't taste it little deer pilots sort of weirdly white colour off so just realize this is not actual fork right are you to eat I didn't get one well you may have to disinfect that one right let's get it out oh here's some sort of moles and get alongs up there okay just the colors all wrong isn't it it should be much deeper radiation is about I don't know I never saw this stuff was fresh yeah thicker than one would expect no man maybe on heating it up it will get more watery and probably will actually well there goes my nice idea of finds an old chilean heating out and trying a bit because frankly it's far far too far gone mmm I've got the tin closer to my face now and yeah there is a distinct smell of something not right amongst the spices not too right a month of spices being a good title for a first novel if anybody's looking for lunch right that's them yeah mmm the beans got a bit anemic and loses the whole that whole car that the consistency of it is bizarre I mean I presume that I can't find it is that a lump of beef do you think yeah I think it is let in there yeah entirely world or something right and you'll take I'm going to take one for the team and down the aisle well no I'm [ __ ] no I'm going to take one of the beans because there's less meeting it bloody poisonous and give it a very small lick I'm not going to ingest any of the bean or any substantial amount of the source sorry to ruin your sharpen fry there but I don't want to die before I made next week's video clips can be an interesting [Music] whoa Wow um oh dear there it is right so yes started off in quite pleasant I think Davies chili would have been a pretty bloody good chili actually it had a really nice seven and a little bit of kick to it but it's all decent flavor and what is a massive undercurrent of rot he's not so good it does taste of something mouldy it tastes of granddad's old garage where he keeps those chisels and things that you haven't used for 35 years oh god yeah that ain't good that's the aftertaste to do that really all well hang on the spices have come and overtaking the array ah the spices have come and overtaken the aftertaste but something oh yeah yep glad I didn't ingest any substantial amounts of that so I would probably be dead by now I might still be there anyway I should probably go and drink a load more vodka after this to sort that out anyway we should have something alcoholic to wash down our chili with of course how about some print brow beer it's the only one brew the pure Alaska water you [ __ ] hear that I know what you do and running up and down the roads because you might see on there are three beers brewed with pure Alaska water you're full of [ __ ] this is the only one the only one you [ __ ] hear me there'll be trouble there will be trouble if you keep repeating it that was the tagline for Prince Brownbeard it was seen at the time to be quite explicitly confrontational the two large to fit on the posters but they win with it anyway and that could be why the Prince Bry brewery went bust after three years they started making this lager in 1976 and they stopped in 1979 when they all went home and in that jobs we more so that's a bit of a shame really isn't it not much um I can content 12 fluid ounces put three four five liters that's it Prince for our alaska incorporated anchorage and that's a lot nothing really on the tin it's fortunate in a way they did go bust for a three-year period so that means we can exactly date it so this is a 38 years old at least maybe over 40 years old mm-hmm what a good day that's to lift on a horrible old wrinkles where you pull it off and just like a horrible helmet great and for that and just a very sharp shard of metal that you then tossed to the side and you know pierces through the Solus on these photos only now there may be confusion here so we shall clear that up there is another beer called Prince Bry which I believe has been made since the 70s but it's made by Heineken Italy so it's kind of an Italian lager and it's infamous for being really super watery I mean like watery is thid it's like drinking Matt's piece basically Italian month this one I have no idea because obviously it's you know quite old and with only made in Alaska for a period of 3 is about 40 years ago so it's got a little bit less people drinking it at the moment mmm there's some horrible things to that's not like a business Oh anyway based on putting it off let's get the tape tasting glass very small wine glass don't want to usually use right is it still fizzy do you think I'm gonna take that yes oh [ __ ] fun not on the sofa not on the sofa it's gone so so bear with me a second [Music] disaster averted thank you paper kitchen roll stuff my god I had in my head it goes flat I was convinced it would be flat it was not flat as well you saw anyway here is the mighty can and there is the widdle face with an upset mouth these things used to make see the stic mellow right that's alright I'll pour it out hmm sometimes it just color to it of course that could be because it's completely and horrifyingly gone off yeah it has the look of imagined some peace i canna cast a bag or something and there's quite a lot of blood in it and then there's little foreign bodies and basically the person it came from his dad yeah I'm not yeah mmm yeah those might be orange juice mash because I would no idea what color it was originally but I'm assuming probably not that it smells mmm interesting quite hoppy as you would expect from a longer but also there's a little edge of something else to a yeasty almost that's probably whatever's in it that's probably massively poisonous right I'm going to sit a very small amount and check I have my neat liquor bottle here ice to help kill germs yes oh dear oh oh cool oh that's weird do you know if somebody gave me like a bean boozled beam or something and said what is this flavor and it tasted exactly like this I would say rotten lager it dirty just basically tastes of lager and rot it really does ah the taste of rot that should be the title of my autobiography anyway so today we've learned that well tins don't keep things fresh forever whether they be food tins or lager tins there we are Not going to lie, I thought the chili was going to be a lot worse, given that meat stuffs aren't known for aging gracefully. Also, the sound of escaping gas? Lovely.

And your description of NASCAR is spot on. They may be trying to modernize it but rest assured, most of the fanbase are still a bunch of hillbillies (probably from the same family tree) who worship Dale Earnhardt as their motor lord and savior.
