best at yes theory is creating experiences for strangers that they'd most likely never get offered otherwise and recently as covered restrictions were lifted in new york for the first time the big apple is back open for business and since it was hit extremely hard by the pandemic we wanted to surprise some spontaneous new yorkers with an absolutely dream-like experience so as a throwback to one of our favorite adventures three years ago we surprised 16 backpackers in europe with a knight in a mansion how are you feeling right now we wanted to take that experiment to a whole new level by surprising 30 complete strangers and a few subscribers with an overnight stay in an actual castle with hidden rooms multiple buildings and perched on an absolutely gorgeous hill this is truly going to be one of the most unique stays anyone will ever have but obviously saying yes to a free experience like this would be a little too easy so to make sure our yeses were truly spontaneous we were instead going to ask people on the street to say yes to a 24-hour mystery adventure without having any clue what they would actually be doing if you're watching this video on the day we posted it today is seekers day seekers day is our annual tradition to celebrate the start of yes theory back in the summer of 2015. as a part of this celebration we decided to make seek discomfort more accessible to our community than any other day of the year seek discomfort at the end of the day is what funds everything we create with yes theory and so this is just a small thank you for empowering us to do what we love while also enabling other people's dreams that we meet along the way seekers day isn't only about celebrating the start of yes theory however it's also about celebrating the most badass and self-organized community on youtube and celebrating all the connections we've had with strangers throughout the years but unfortunately something we haven't been able to do as much of this past year so to make up for lost time we decided to go big [Music] wow the buildings are so tall yeah it's new york city i haven't been here in so long what the hell oh oh yeah oh my god oh yeah we're in new york city yeah wow life is crazy crazy jumps up [Music] we are in new york city and we're loving it this is one of these yesterday experiences where the people who are being asked to go on the experience can't know what the experience is because it's an easy yes you pitch them out right now oh i'm official hey hi uh how are you doing today whatever it is that you're selling i don't want it i know i'm not selling anything actually i'm i'm pitching you because we we do these crazy events you see these crazy adventures where we take strangers out of the comfort zone strangers dudes and crazy you're you're you should go to prison now i'm a stranger and you're asking me yeah well then buy it [Music] excuse me guys we're making a film about spontaneity and saying yes can we interview you no i mean yeah obviously like yeah you can't i can't you can't say no what did you say to bring your magical epic experience to new york we meet on wednesday morning this week yes i i would love spontaneous person what are you doing wednesday yeah sorry i'd rather not i have to work we decided to design a really epic experience for 30 strangers that are going to say yes to this and they can't thank you guys for being so cool yeah yeah our first guest of the day our first session they're really cool really chill yeah i love that she's a teacher too like that's going to be something really cool that she could show to her students throughout i wanted this right now i'm sweaty and i'm not even doing the pitching i can't i can barely use the camera because i'm sweating into my eyes it's so damn hot milk was a bad choice we're going to put the camera down and then 4 p.m or something so i'm so sorry thomas what's going on a really cool subscriber that came and shared something very sweet so i decided to invite him on now i would not be where i'm at at this present moment if it weren't for what you guys beautifully started at stefan's he was at stefan speech at ut austin one one match experience for strangers we want to challenge strangers to say yes got five people today here so now we're splitting up in two teams ready i'm ready ready i made porn ready you're on wednesday few more yeses and inviting some subscribers we randomly met on the street all the spots at the castle were filled do they know that we're pulling up in vans no this is bad holy crap oh my god hey what's this is exhausting how's it going good morning he's in his no face i'll compensate for this excitement oh this is the first time we do something like this where there's more women that said yes than men so looks like a lot of people came so i wasn't there when they were picking up the van i'm so sorry for how they look they look like the creepiest white van you've ever seen so right now we're gonna go on a mysterious drive up north and uh we'll we'll reveal everything there without further ado let's get the adventure started [Applause] i'm nervous why i don't know why wouldn't i be ignorant we've got a van there this is surreal this is surreal right now what's happening drive to the unknown destination [Music] jay what if we said you could get unlimited ice cream today you have okay everyone's got their eyes closed here let me give you hands what are we doing right now with all these people all right guys thank you all for saying yes this is one of the craziest things we've ever done we didn't even know if it was possible in the u.s we wanted to surprise everybody with a night in a place that is usually not accessible to normal people so tonight we're going to be the game and the winning team won't just get fame but as sweet fit for kings and fit for queens and the losing team will have more threadbare means and we'll spend the night in a tent outside sticks minutes together asking each other what your biggest yes in life has been exciting besides today yeah and then instead of introducing yourself in our circle in five minutes you're going to introduce your new friends if everyone wants to circle back up we will go ahead and introduce our fellow knights and nitrous suits she realized that she had this passion for skydiving and fell in love with that biggest lesson she learned during that trip was the realization that i can do what i want when i want my name is jay i'm two years old i like trucks i haven't lived for that long yet it's two years in but life is fun so far her biggest yes would be becoming a mother but also additionally on top of that having a grandson and that is like the biggest yes [Applause] gather with your team of four make a crest a family shield chase okay what's the game plan oh he's going for it oh my god did you do that wow look at this teamwork you guys are all done i'm not gonna lie chase is better [Music] put doing this guys it feels pretty surreal to be celebrating with everybody tonight if we learn anything is that discomfort is the greatest tool to connect people that's why for our six years we wanted to create an experience of discomfort that had a really amazing reward celebrating the best way we can which is with strangers with the belief that strangers are just friends you haven't met yet right away in the in the car rides on the way here people were just like dropping in getting to know each other stories and this is like the greatest thing to see yes theory in action to see it working in front of our eyes is there's nothing that we that we can think of that makes us happier so half of you had no idea what yes theory is before you know a couple days ago but we're just so happy that this is like your entry point to who we are to what we are and what we want to stand for with everybody that you know crosses our path it started with we're all all three of us going against the grain and going against what most of our families and friends wanted us to do or expected us to do but these are the moments that make it all worth it so thank you for saying yes thank you for being open a group of strangers group of friends you guys understand like this is your job like like that is mind-blowing like your purpose is to push people into their understanding of what they are you've changed my life like can you understand that that alone is insane like you've changed somebody else's life today to be able to join yes theory for these adventures and to be placed in a situation like this where i'm just surrounded by energy i can actually feel very eye-opening to be able to experience something like this and connect with people and actually listen and feed off other human beings so i'm grateful for the fact that all of you guys exist and are bringing this into the into the world i don't know every single one of you guys very well but i know i can go up to literally anyone and just cry and talk and that's absolutely magical thank you i love you actually i feel like i've found some belonging and now i'm so so grateful and now i i feel lucky and i feel like one and all of you like i want to give you a group hug maybe we should do it and we'll just end with a big yes inhale and then we'll exhale to yes [Applause] our ability to involve strangers in our videos was completely taken away from us for 18 months so to end our season with such a meaningful experience was life-changing and revitalizing for us as well to feel reconnected with who we are and what we do to bring people together in a safe spontaneous and authentic environment for the first time in a long time and remember the connection that seeking discomfort nurtures left us feeling incredibly connected to our mission i know some of you have been confused by changes within yes theory but i hope that you know that behind the scenes we feel more excited by our grander mission than ever before we have some
