one month ago this is what spawn looked like on the oldest anarchy server in minecraft now it looks like this it's become a giant ocean from bedrock to build limit after one month of players from different time zones working around the clock placing 250 million water source blocks removing lava casts and fighting off griefers the spawn ocean has finally been completed it is perhaps the most ambitious project to renovate zero zero in the server's decade-long history so you're probably wondering why why would people dedicate so much time to turning an apocalyptic wasteland into one big ocean well the reason is insane today we'll be discussing how 2b2t spawn ocean was created the challenges that had to be overcome as well as some shocking discoveries made along the way and how this might just be the start of something even larger no wasting time today let's get started it all began back in summer time a group called the infinity incursion or ii had just completed another one of their major spawn projects the lava wall after its completion the group's leader baki began wondering what their next project should be it had to be big and it had to be something that had never been done before they had covered spawn in darkness due to their obsidian sky and their lava wall was already making it harder for new players to escape what else could be done to make the region even more chaotic the answer was to flood it entirely with a one thousand by one thousand cube of water going from bedrock all the way up to build limit this would make spawn escapes even more tedious than they already were but to make something this gigantic a few roadblocks had to be overcome first they had to recruit enough players to make completion of it possible then all the lava casts in floating blocks at spawn would need to be completely removed which itself had never been done before this included removing one of the largest lava casts on the entire server block for block then they would have to create 250 million water source blocks to make sure it would be impossible to fully grief a smaller water cube at spawn already existed but it was poorly made and consisted of flowing water rather than source blocks this smaller cube would need to be fixed in order for the rest of the project to succeed on top of all of that they would have to be working around the clock for the better part of an entire month in the most dangerous region of the server just to see it completed on paper it was a monumental task but in baki's eyes it was all the more reason to do it and so the project began 2b2t player red stoner was the mastermind behind how the ocean was going to be created the 1000 by 1000 area would be split into different sections where all lava casts and floating blocks would be removed first and then the water would be brought in for water source blocks to be created ice was manually broken by hand but this was a long tedious process the project in the ii discord was labeled operation nether 2012 to throw off potential griefers looking to ruin the project construction of the cube began on september 4th the first sections would be the most important as they would be the easiest to grief with blowing up lava casts mining blocks in the way and clearing everything out to make room for the water things started off slow but steady progress was being made as progress was made towards the center the original water cube had to be repaired 2b2t player iron exception had previously made a module used to visually separate water source blocks from flowing water so the incursion ended up using it to repair the original water cube and allow it to be combined with the new one in the process of destroying some of the major lava casts the ii made an amazing discovery underneath one of the casts were pieces of floating bedrock that had been placed there illegally long ago this discovery motivated the group to continue working even harder what else might be hiding in 2v2t's concrete jungle as word of the project started to spread griefers would try to attack the builders baki would often log in so that they would only focus their attacks on him this allowed the others to continue working uninterrupted redstoner charted their progress each day he knew that if the different sections could be brought together it would speed up completion of the cube a lot of blocks were still in the way so the ii forced new players to mine them with the promise of giving them enchanted items if they did it long enough sounds familiar doesn't it this way the incursion members could focus on the water which was far more important as the days of september went by more and more of the ocean was completed as work was done around the clock the incursion was more motivated than ever and progress was coming along more quickly than expected the griefers gave up on trying to remove it it became far too large for them to harm in any real capacity so that brings us to right now the spawn ocean is about one day away from completion sobaki has invited us to take a tour of this impressive public works project and perhaps he'll tell us more about why this monstrosity was made in the first place apparently it can only be truly appreciated by seeing it with our own eyes we better bring a towel here we are at 2b2t spawn now i'm on an alt account so hopefully no one's going to give us any trouble today but we're a few hundred blocks away from the spawn ocean i'm curious to see what this is like in person if you're enjoying all this insanity so far today have you considered hitting that subscribe button i mean the majority of my viewers aren't actually subscribed but hey no pressure all right we're getting really close now we have just reached the very edge of the spawn ocean look at this thing now in person yeah to have to swim through all this is going to be a chore so i'm definitely going to gabble up in case we run out of oxygen wow this is insanity i have not seen the spawn like this ever in my seven years of playing 2b2t this blows my mind i haven't seen a single person yet and that is highly unusual for spawn this might be the safest it's been since 2016. that's crazy bakki is going to meet us here in a few minutes but in the meantime we might as well examine this artwork here random block placement or work of art i'll let you be the judge but it's crazy so this actually shows you that the obsidian sky is still around while the ocean is underneath there's the mastermind baki told me on discord that he's going to be leading me away from a section of the ocean that's still being worked on by the incursion so if i'm not allowed to see it yet they want me to be surprised by something so it must be good but i mean just look at this we would run out of air before we even hit the bottom the gapples are keeping us alive right now but if you were a new player trying to swim down here you would drown easily so the ocean is doing its part to kill new players i guess because i haven't seen a single one alright if he's leading me to the corner it must be good whatever they're working on but you know i've been thinking about this the obsidian sky the lava wall and now the spawn ocean i'm just curious what are they planning next bucky's been very quiet on the subject baki has given me a list of all the people that worked on the ocean over 60 people put in all the time and effort just to build this thing i mean to a casual outsider you might just think oh it's a big water cube to make one this big in the center of the oldest anarchy server in minecraft is unprecedented so anyone on this list hats off to you construction is now finally complete so i was told to go to these coordinates down here okay what is this oh my god it's a giant sea serpent that looks like the infinity incursion logo imagine flooding spawn and then also building a gigantic obsidian structure right in the middle of it man these guys are insane i guess universius is the person that designed the sculpture what does this sign say it says stay alive out there from parsi lengths of the free oxygen i guess wow how does the eye ii continue to do it every single project that they complete is bigger than the last i where do you go from here i mean turning spawn into an ocean where do you go from here well we said that last time about the lava wall so i guess we'll have to wait and see what happens but hey if you enjoyed today's video make sure to leave a like and hit that subscribe button also make sure to follow me on social media but that's it for today everyone take it easy and if you plan to play stay afloat out there
