hello and welcome back to let's talk reloading this is gonna be one of my longer reloading videos today we are gonna do start to finish Remington two to three and we are gonna talk about a lot in this video we're going to talk about dies when I'm talking about bullets we're talking about case Lube we're going to talk about presses tumbling and all the specifications that go along with successfully reloading a two to three round to factory specs thanks for being here and I hope you enjoy the video okay the first thing I've done is separated my 1500 pieces of field brass I've got about 750 here my Frankfort Arsenal teaspoon of dishwashing soap and then some little washer fluid a little bit of brass cleaning solution and we'll go ahead and fill this up with water and put it on the tumbler for two hours okay we've wet tumbled half of our cases here for an hour and a half keep in mind I'm gonna put these back in the tumbler again with stainless steel media pins after all the brass prep has been done these guys are getting ready to go in the tumbler and the ones on the left are headed for decapping and full-length resize okay before we go any further we are going to Lube these cases I like to put them in a one lock one gallon ziplock bag I am a fan of imperial sizing die wax and I like to touch this in the bag about once per every hundred rounds zip this up and give it a good tumble okay guys this is my full-length resizing and decapping pin so in other words it is completely reshaping the brass and it is punching out the primer pretty simple step we just want to make sure that the ram makes contact with the bottom of the die you want to make sure your cases are lubed up nice and just to show you an example here so this is my Hornady 2 to 3 Remington case gauge no go after a full length size it drops right in there okay my rough count is about 1500 pieces of brass we're working on here and this is filled brass the first step that I do for case prep is to name the primer pocket I use a reamer tool on a drill on speed to okay one more note on reaming the primer pockets right here you can see the factory crimp and on these shells you can see it's been cut out there's a nice sort of chamfer on the inside shiny brass that's what we're looking for guys okay next step in the brass prep is to trim anything over 1.75 0 and I trim it to just under 1.75 zero check one more that one's long you know we're turning these two just under one point seven five zero if it measures under that it get the pass perfect alright we've completed all the stages of the brass prep which includes reaming the primer pocket trimming to length chamfer deburring and of course we've already resized and d capped it [Applause] we're going to put the brass back in the Frankfort Ulster Arsenal wet tumbler one last time this time we're going to use the stainless steel media pins I'm hoping that this will help clean the primer pockets dawn extra concentrate about a heavy tablespoon and let me shine then I'll go ahead and fill this up with water and set it for two hours okay let's set the timer here for two hours [Applause] okay now that we've completed all of the brass prep which has included reaming the primer pockets trimming the brass deburring the brass and chamfering the brass we are ready to actually start making some finished bullets at this point this is a li Pro 1000 three-stage progressive press we're going to set it up with three stages the first being primer and a powder charge we're going to use the lead small rifle powder charge dye the second will be seating the bullet and the third will be a factory crimp I'll show you here a little bit more how I get this put together in just a moment here's a closer look at the components of this round this is my once tired field brass which I basically got for free I picked it up at the range we're using CCI number 41 primers at 6 cents apiece I'm loading 11 cents of CFE 2 to 3 powder made by Hodgdon and we are loading with Bob's bulk bullets which I buy 1000 at a time and I get them for 8 cents apiece my total on this reload is 25 cents per round let's run a couple single rounds through the press so we can get familiar with it primer powder charge bullet see crimp and the trick is to pull it out of there before it cycles past that point there we go check my overall length two point two to five perfect and case headspace okay didn't get a primer recycle on that one primer powder charge bullet see crimp crimp looks good headspace overall length okay let's go ahead and load it up yeah we'll go ahead and check those check one for overall length anything within a few thousandths of 2.23 is what I'm shooting that works okay I hope you enjoyed the reloading video on two to three here's some of the finished product please stay tuned for the next episode of let's talk reloading we're going to take this particular round and several other two to three rounds out to the range and measure velocities and performance thank you for watching
