2024 Asus Zenbook 14 OLED Live Unboxing - Meteor Lake in the Studio

[Music] oh [Music] [Applause] [Music] and we are live good to see everybody uh good to be back here to do a nice unboxing or live unboxing I should say of what we have here today finally have meteor Lake into the studio latest uh chips set from Intel so hopefully it'll be good mixed reviews so far I guess uh from what I've read and seen so far but this is the first time I have it here into the studio so we're going to put it through its Paces as we normally do back at our normal time here we've been doing it on Saturdays I might still do another one then uh we have a maybe one or two more live streams to do before the end of the year but good to see everybody here good to see all those who have shown up so far pretty nice turn out almost 50 of you already so I want to see Hello to a few people but everybody while everybody files in good to see uh Hector Lopez who was here earlier and then we've got uh Anna Savin how are you doing once you're done with this unboxing this one can I pair with the the 2023 yeah we'll we'll compare numbers and everything uh Hector Lopez good to see you we can do a speedometer test there's not not going to be a problem uh Dylan's here how are you Reno uh doing some research on OLED displays we can talk about OLED a little bit later when we talk about this display and of course William our moderator good to see you and then of course uh Raphael's here another moderator and we got Winston here and he was expecting a little bit more uh ham I'm talking about expecting a little bit more than what Intel offered with the new meter Lake CPUs all right so what are we talking about here meteor Lake it's very confusing the one we have here is what they're calling the Intel core Ultra 7 155h and let's bring the specs onto the stream here and as you can see this is a refresh here for 2024 as we round out 2023 head into the new year uh this is an interesting laptop and I'm going to say very interesting because the price is very high right now I expect that to go down over time especially when you can get last year's Model A very capable laptop the Asus Zenbook 14x OLED which is my one of the laptops of the year I I included it of course I let it off in my best of 2023 and that's because of it $699 price tag and I left a link for that of course in the description below so it's A Hard Sell Here at $12.99 and I don't know if we're going to see that much of an improvement CPU wise but I think we will see an improvement GPU wise but of course proof is always in the numbers when we get that all said and done here I don't know why I did that let me fix this uh just give me a second of course I hit the wrong thing and then we get all sorts of crazy stuff going on here all right that's better all right so what we're looking at here is a 14in 3K display 288 2880 by 1800 OLED display 16 to 10 I think that's pretty much what we saw last year right on the 14x so that's 120 Herz refresh rate we all know that we love that glad to see that over back again here here's where the difference is going to be it's going to be in the CPU here and that's of course like I said earlier core Ultra 7 155h now this is a very interesting processor let me bring onto the stream here what exactly that means so as you can see here this is a a total cores of 16 here now um where I think we got on H series we got 14 cores we now have 16 on total here and that means you're looking at six performance cores and eight efficient cores and two and I think what they're talking about are two extra cores here right so we got 8 and 16 that's 14 and those two additional cores I forgot what they call them somebody can remind me but you get a little bit more uh cores here and then you also get that npu so the npu of course is going to mean you get that neural Processing Unit which is would will B basically take a little bit of the load off of the CPU and move it on to the npu things like blurring the background and the auto Framing and all that stuff with the camera and stuff like that what they call AI features which I think is a real marketing term but that's where I think you're going to see the benefit of that 32 gab of lpddr 5x Ram Intel arc graphics which are going to be I would roughly double what we're seeing in Intel Iris XE and I think that's a good thing uh definite need of an in of an increase over the previous iteration that's for sure Intel Iris as I mentioned many times needs to be updated we finally get that 1 tby of storage here 75w hour battery I think it's the same as last year Wi-Fi 6E as we move along here uh Bluetooth 5.3 and then of course size we're looking at about 1.28 kg or 2.82 lbs will we'll do a measurement with our scale here full HD camera IR support privacy shutter which you got to like uh Windows hello of course and then Harmon Card and speakers we got the Ponder Blue here we got the port we'll talk about when we look at the ports so $12.99 so you could pick it up over at Best Buy and you can see it here and again A Hard Sell for me only because of what you can get for $6.99 right now and again I have links for both in the description below but if you want the latest well the link is there and again I'm I have good expectations of it I don't have ere expectational I don't have uh unrealistic expectations and this is what the internals is going to look like so for those wondering you're going to be getting soldered Ram I'm not going to open it up tonight so I wanted to get you a um photo of it and then of course there's a 75w hour battery it's a single fan for cooling here should be interesting I'm going to test The Thermals and of course we'll test the battery life and everything else so that is what the uh what you're looking at all right so that's the specs here and don't forget according to Eve that they didn't include the numpad with this we're going to talk about that I don't know how I feel about it I didn't really use it to be honest with you that numpad where the virtual numpad on the touchpad or whatever you want to call it um I don't know if it was gimmicky I don't know I I I'm indifferent it would be nice to include it but I'm not shedding too many tiers as as far as that's concerned at least for me but you are paying $12.99 versus $6.99 all right so with the specs and pricing out of the way you know the drill folks let's get this out of the box let me take off some of these Graphics here and we are ready to rock and roll and before we do that I just want to do a disclaimer here uh just so we can get that out of the way this was not provided by Asus or Intel so for those wondering I'm not being paid I'm not being sponsored they're not being influenced in any way by them I went out and I bought this on with my I say to that I say hell no let's do this crap man let's do this all right it's not crap but whatever you get the point all right without further Ado let's get this out of the box you know I love this uh when you open this up it raises to greet you so let's do that again I mean I like the presentation here you know those little things go a long way now if my memory serves me correctly we should have and we do here let me put it over here um a nice little sleeve in the Box here once again they come through and I really like this um I think it's a nice touch from Asus and I'm glad to see it in the retail packaging of course this of course is the sleeve and you can see it here uh we'll take a look at it a little bit later but I'm glad they have that let's put that to the side and then we get the unit itself in the Ponder Blue okay 14-inch laptop for those wondering what is this this fell out of there so just a little bit more documentation warranty information yada yada yada we know the drill right so what else do we get in here good to see this this is the Asus pen 2.0 now for those wondering there is pen support just like you got on the 14x and this is uh great to see that in the Box I like that again $12.99 I want to get as much as I can as far as value is concerned we'll look at that a little bit in a little bit and then of course on this side is the power charger and this power charger is is going to be your 65 wat USB type-c and you can see it etched in there so 65 wat power charger I already have one so we don't necessarily need to use that one and then that is it so nice to see the the the sleeve here nice to see the pen so that should be what that's whats in the Box let me make sure there's nothing else sometimes I forget if there's a little dongle or something but they have a pretty good Port selection on this I think that's it yeah oh I did miss something of course as I us do so this is the usba to the ethernet dongle again that's a nice value add again I like the little touches that Asus does here to give you value so that's good and again nice that they include that all right let's put this to the side and move this out there okay put the pen to the side and this is the unit all right so this is the OLED they called it the Asus Lumia display as we have a 100 of you watching okay so here you can see the Ponder Blue so Lumia display it's going to have the good color accuracy the good coverage of the color gamut number one OLED rated according to them I guess I don't know who who rated that uh you got the Asus OLED care display protection 70% reduction in the blue light all that yada Yad y stuff okay and of course let's see if we can open it with one finger we can you can see it there and of course it's a very glossy display 2.8k resolution we're going to turn it on in a moment and there you can see the top down and of course it goes back 180 degrees which we like to see okay you can see it here and I like this keyboard I've been a fan of it on the 14x OLED I'm I'm a fan of it so far again I just took it out of the box let's get this off the let's take the sticker off here okay all right and there's the Ponder Blue so we'll get a good look at it here now what I like about this and again you could also start seeing fingerprints is that little diagram or a little design or whatever you want to call it um pretty nice let's get a measurement of the weight here but it's a pretty nice Ponder Blue it also comes in a foggy silver if I remember correctly but I didn't see it offered anywhere at least in North America so we'll get to your comments and questions as we have 120 of you watching all right so let's uh we got it in pounds but let's put it in kilograms first as we like to do here and with just a unit it alone you're looking at 1.27 s kg or 2 lb3 oz on the dots so 2 lb 13 O so not too bad so let's bring it back to kilograms and let's take it a weight with the total travel weight with the let's get the uh the sleeve let's get the pen let's we have to open the pen let's do that real quick actually before we get to that so we'll get a total travel weight of everything and again I love having the pen included at no additional cost let's take a look at that pen and then we'll get a total travel weight good turnout I like to see that again I first look at some meteor Lake laptops I also have the Acer uh what do I have here the Acer um the Aspire I don't remember which one I have but I have the new Acer one it came in so ACA Swift uh ACA Swift go the Ace of Swift go we'll talk about that soon I'll do an unboxing of that okay so we got okay so what do we get we get a little usba well actually USBC to USBC a charging cable there that's always good here's the Asus pen 2.0 and I like the Asus pen because it has the two buttons there but it also has the Eraser top and very nice nice balance on it nice uh size to it pretty good pretty good you get your the the uh tip remover tool and you get three extra pen tips and they're different pen tips I know if you can see it there for different sizes so that's been pretty good as well let's put that to the side for now and we're going to put the pen on there so with the pen you're looking at 1. 294 kg let me get the sleeve let's take it out of the plastic before we weigh it so even though the plastic will not be very much but let's get this opened if I could find the way to open it here we go little sticky there we go and that's a nice little sleeve it's the same one we saw before so let's take the pen off there so with the pen with the sleeve one . 474 kg and with the charging adapter so the total travel weight 1.69 1 kg or 3 lb 11.6 Oz and that is your travel weight so not too shabby as far as a pretty nice thin and light to take with you on the go so that is the size and weight of the unit okay so let's put the pen to the side so already you can see fingerprints let's uh let's uh let's boot it up let's see if it has any juice now one thing I notice here when you're typing is a little no no it's not too bad little Bobble there but nothing to be too concerned about but we'll we'll test more of that of course as we have 135 of so it's been a good um turnout now one thing I want to show you here you notice those two red dots that's because there's a physical shutter switch on here to turn off the webcam and it actually feels pretty nice slides very smoothly that's pretty good that's a little different I think than last year's 14x all right so let's plug this in let me get my dock here I could find the cable there here it is okay so it's of course on this side give me a second all right going to have to do it on an angle little bit let's see if this can plug in okay not the best scenario because they put it on the right side I need it I need it really on the left side but it's okay you you get the drift here so let's turn this on so first boot it's coming on here okay and you'll be able to see what I'm doing in a moment okay all live folks I'm doing everything myself so there you can see it all right I really don't like this cable having to be stretched like that but again they put everything on the right side all the HDMI the USBC Thunderbolt ports and then on this side you just get that Lan usba Port we got to look at the ports I just remembered about that that so let's get that booted up we'll look at the ports in a moment but while we're doing that let's just take some of your comments and questions so let me go it's good to be here guy to see you once again can the 14x run Chrome OS as well as Chromebook plus device as well as a Chromebook plus yeah the 14x is a very it's a great laptop general purpose laptop I think that's capable to do a lot of things for the price it's it's really an unbelievable value to me I mean I I talked about it at nauseum all right so you can see what I'm doing here and we're going to do English we're not going to do espanol or FR FR FR French and let's get the pen I don't know if I have to charge the pen let's see what let's see if it's got any juice so it looks like we have to charge it so how you charge it let me show you here there's a USB C port and I happen to have a cable here USBC cable and you can charge it like that and probably take a seconds to really charge this you can see the light go on so let's put that to the side and we'll continue here in English let's skip we don't want to add a second keyboard here and let me put it on me for a second as we put in the credentials here so we're going to do a couple of benchmarks right off the bat I want to get this set up first boot again for those joining us late it's the Asus Zenbook I'm looking at the wrong camera Asus Zenbook uh 14 OLED it's the actually it's a ux 3405 with the meteor Lake processor the core Ultra 7 155h 3K OLED display with the 120 htz so a lot of good features here uh it's really iterating on what we saw last year on the 14x OLED but we're doubling the price here and that's of course the initial price I expect it to go down as we head into into 2024 at some point so just bear that in mind as we have 150 of you so it's a good turnout for this brand new processor and again this was not sent by Intel this was not sent by Asus um but that doesn't stop me this is how we roll on the channel I went out and I bought it so got it at Best Buy and for those interested there is a link in the description below okay so this is booting up for the first time and you can get a a good look here at this OLED display in fact it's pretty um bright so I'm going to have to bring it down a little bit so if I go here so it doesn't blow out the camera but it's the OLED display and I I don't think it's any different than what we saw on the 14x OLED for those wondering it is a very glossy display keep in mind I do have a lot of lights here but I like the fact that the screen goes back down 180° hinges are on pretty nice so far looking pretty good and again we're we're charging up the pen that should be be ready in a moment or so uh it only takes probably a few seconds and then uh that's what we have here so far the all metal build quality it's the Ponder Blue so while it's uh searching for updates let me unplug this for a second we're going to get a look at the ports and let me set it up here and let's go to the top down shot so as far as ports are concerned we have on the left side a usba port we got a heating vent there and that's it now again I would like to see those USB ports or the usba A C ports split up the Thunderbolt ports uh you have them both here on the right side so on the right side you get the two USB type-c they are full function they support data charge display out they are Thunderbolt for so that is good 3.5 mm microphone headphone combo Jack HDMI 2.1 tmds port for those that need to connect via HDMI it's there the that is good we like to see that uh do me a favor for those that are joining us late hit the like button make sure that uh we get this spread out over YouTube Let me refresh the page there see how many likes we have we have 52 likes we have 165 of you watching so for those are joining us now welcome and what I'm seeing here so far love the Ponder Blue I'm a big fan of this keyboard now the person who put the sticker on here put it on a little bit crooked it does say Intel Evo what is Intel Evo well Intel Evo is a standard that they have to meet in terms of certain requirements battery life display performance all sorts of uh thermals and so forth that's what the Intel Evo stands for got a lot of stickers here so lot of interesting stuff here again 14 OLED is what we have here from Asus now this is booting up for the first time let me plug it back in and again I wish it was on this side but but we don't have that ability cuz all my stuff is here but they put it on that side all right so let me uh raise the Bri brightness up a little bit it's a bright display now I believe they're rating this at 400 nits SDR 550 nits of peak brightness for the touch option this is what we have here again it does support pen for the non-touch option which is another one you can go with that one can Peak as bright as I think it's 400 nits of SDR but you can go a little bit higher as far as the uh HDR that can go as high as 600 nits according to their specs and then of course I think there's a full HD Plus option as well for less money but again I think if you're a content creator if you want the better resolution better coverage of the color gamut better color accuracy then of course go with the OLED that is the way to go you can see it's very bright here and I don't I I have it almost no it's not quite all the way bright I don't want to blow out the camera but it is bright enough certainly for indoor use it is a glossy display so keep that in mind rapael Gonzalez is wondering if the Zenbook is the same size as the 14x now unfortunately I had to give back the 14x to back back to uh it was a review unit back to Asus so I don't have it anymore they they asked for it back I gave it back I'm not going to keep it if they ask for it back of course uh but we did get a good look at it and of course I did measurements of the weight and the size in my review video so for those that didn't see it check it out it's it should be uh obviously it is online and again I did my best of 2023 at $699 that is a steal especially when you look at this new one here and I don't know why it's taking so long for these updates so right off the bat we're seeing this uh looping checking for updates so I don't know if um I need to restart this or what's going on but this is sort of stuck in a loop here which is not a good sign you can see it here what the hell is going on here people Intel what's going on on here uh this is not a good sign so I'm going to restart this somehow let me put it back on me okay and let's see what happens if I try to restart it it keeps going so let's just re let's turn it off and turn it back on again uh it's been like that for the last five minutes or so so not a good sign so let me let me hold it for 35 seconds cuz it seems like it's stuck in a loop happening live and I'm glad we're doing this live to show you exactly what's going on and again there might be some updates that need to be done here firmware updates they're going to have to figure out a lot of this early bugs that are going to plague any new processor you you get of course uh this is brand new architecture it you know we can have a whole discussion on that but it's a brand new um architecture it's not like they just took the old 13th gen and made a new one no this is totally new here and and let's see if this turns on so again happening live what's going on here okay it's on hopefully the screen will come on so how's everybody doing there it comes uh I don't know why I got stuck in that Loop we'll [Music] see so we're back at the bootup screen meanwhile we could take your comments and questions Super Chat super stickers uh and I have some memberships I can gift I haven't done that they now allow you to do that yeah it's strange I don't know what's going on Raphael hope you're doing well Happy New Year everybody happy holidays right I think there's some updates going on there as it says just a moment we'll see how much different is it from last year physically it seems very similar physically seems very similar I think what you're going to see is under the hood with this new processor and again I don't know if there are bugs here here let's start all over take two we're going to do English let's say United States maybe the second time's a charm us skip okay this is where we got stuck last time okay that's a little different now it's saying you're making sure you have the latest so that might be a positive sign we'll see is the GPU just called Intel Arc or is there more to it I think it's just called Intel Arc and from the initial numbers we saw it was uh about double the performance of the iris XE and that's welcome so we saw with the radon 78m recently we saw where do we see that on the HP Pavilion plus I think we saw it on the uh oh on the framework laptop 13 was running the uh radon 7 78m Graphics so I I would say it's going to be competitive in that regard uh but I don't know if it passes it we're going to see in the numbers once we get that all said and done as there are updates already out of the box so pretty interesting as I put yeah so a lot of updates still I have to put it on me while that reboots um actually you can see it on here okay and so far I'm not sure if that was a major update or something that needed to be done before we can even get past the boot screen right see updates are underway so again very glossy so this is a pretty interesting happening live right so we're seeing all the bugs and all the warts and everything of a new processor okay let let's accept the license agreement uh I'm going to skip that for now and I don't know why I have this one on there hold on hold on give me a second okay if I go there okay there we go all right let's set it up for personal use next there we go all right let me sign in let me put it on me let me put in my burner account and of course I will have a full review of this I also have the Acer Swift go running the same processor so I online classes uh why not right but again I hope there's not too many bugs in this new processor but yeah I mean the processor should be certainly fast enough for that uh last year is any indication purchasing one it's a very good one I think they refreshed it right uh hope I'm not saying something I'm not supposed to say I think they announced it along with the think pads but I could be wrong uh but yeah it's good let me get this we're almost there we're almost there uh just wouldn't buy it at 1300 but price point wait for it to go under a th000 I wholly agree with you I totally agree uh you can get last year's model at a at a steel $699 again link I'm looking at the wrong camera Link at the in the description below as some more updates are going on here I don't think I've seen so many freaking updates right off the bat I think that has to do with the new chipset here but uh this is pretty interesting so far and and so it's pretty um it seems like it's taking longer again we had to reboot it it got stuck with the updates yeah you got it no problem hit the like button everybody let's get to 100 likes we have I don't know how many here whatever it is but let's get it to over 100 if we can the new Intel Core uh Ultra 7 155h is what we have here uh with the built-in Arc should be even better than the ryzen 77840 HS with the 78m but it is quite hot and it's not particularly stable well so far it doesn't seem so stable at least we we haven't even gotten it to the bo the to the home screen yet I mean it seems like these updates are just uh coming in I think they're patching stuff as we are live streaming here pretty interesting stuff all right so let's uh get some more of your comments and questions why we wait as we wait live here on the broadcast we finally get there by the way should we wait for the new XPS 14 and 16 that will be revealed in January well who told you that number one and number two um I don't know if you should wait until something's announced right so I don't know okay all right so draa Draco Ruiz be careful kidding uh all right let's take a look here so here we have it and nice I think it's new wallpaper kind of nice actually but let's download so we're connected to the internet here let's download we'll do geekbench right off the bat geekbench 6.2 and let's get a single and multi-core performance number and again this is the first time we're booting up and I'm sure with this one there's going to be updates that need to be done so whatever score we get here folks take it with a grain of salt okay right now we're going to put it into the performance mode and while that's downloading let's bring into the my Asus app here as that's initializing for the first time and let's uh let's see what if we could put into performance mode there let's skip that I don't want to do that without um there was a way to do this without I don't want to be a member here still don't or log in I don't want to do any of those how did I I don't want to log in there was a way I did it before maybe they're requiring it now all right give me a second here I'm going to put it on me see if I have one hate to log into that crap now I got to log in with this crap I thought there was a way to do it yeah Rafael we're gonna probably have to take off that mcafe so let's uh we're going to probably have to take that probably taking away some of the performance out of it again using valuable resources all right so we're logged in okay so here's what here's the deal on this let's start it and I don't want to the new updates come on maybe later okay let's try that again lot of updates here folks I guess we have to update it all right while that's doing that here we can see the myasis app finally okay so you got the OLED flicker you've got the fan profile here's the fan profile right now we're going to put it on performance mode and theyve already starting to kick in and it already like crashed it already the app already crashed okay all right I'm assuming it's now on the performance while that's doing that we're almost ready to that's almost finished downloading the geekbench boy this is grow this is like pulling teeth tonight please let us know as soon as you manage the battery life testing is one of the most important for factors to be that's going to take a couple of days as I do my PC Mark 10 test and all that stuff so um initial uh reviews and stuff I've read online uh who is it Matthew mon I think did a an initial look on a maybe it was a pre-production he said there was improved battery life not so much on the single multicore performance maybe a multi-core little bit performance bump but I think the takeaway was the graphics are double the iris XE and that there was improved battery life that was the takeaway I got from that but again I'll do my own testing do you think this is a worthy upgrade over the 14x from last year um well that remains to be seen right I mean is it's double the price right now so I can't recommend this for you to buy this I would recommend going the $699 right cuz I think you'll get a better bang for your buck for that this is a 3K display 2880 by 18800 all right let's open geekbench let's close that it's going to come on in a moment say yes next agree and let's install that let's get the single multicore score going here and again I have a feeling we're going to get better results once all updates and and everything are done on this but this will give us a a little inkling a little taste as to what we can expect with this uh meteor Lake processor again this is the core Ultra 71 155h and whoever is in charge at Intel of the naming scheme here shame on you what the hell are you talk what are you doing with this naming convention look how Apple does it what do we have M3 M3 Pro M3 Max simple very easy to remember I'm having trouble just remembering what I ate for lunch today how am I supposed to remember uh these naming conventions and don't start with the 14th gen um Raptor Lake cuz that's going to just throw a monkey wrench in all this because I'm still trying to figure out what this this change is here on the 155h and with all this metor Lake stuff and all this naming it's just very confusing maybe we'll have to do a separate video all right so let's go to the downloads here and I'm not sure what's going on here um the did geekbench not load in there's the app okay there it is must be a new director on naming these no it's the same problem we had in the past it's even more confusing I think and look at this geekbench is crashing people this is a new processor this is a new processor let's restart let's try it again um let's let's restart it that's all I can do I think this is a this is a new processor and we're going to have some issues so restarting it so far we've had to restart it when it got stuck with the updates in the initial setup and now that it's booted up I could I downloaded geek Ben 6 and now it won't run I expect to get the X one carbon gen 12 uh once they sent it to me I again they announced it um I have a very good relationship with Lenovo so yeah is it frustrating Raphael yeah but I'm not surprised and I'm glad we're doing this live so you can see you know I'm not disparaging anybody else I'm glad everybody else who got review units and so forth uh this is a retail unit from Best Buy folks this is what's happening when you go buy it like you would go to buy it this is what I did you're going to have the same issues so looks like there's a lot of updates going on here let me let see if the windows are low that's working that's good as we have close to 200 of you tonight now we're back to square one here all right now geekbench is not working so far let's see if a re restart helps in any way then we'll move on to the next one I don't think it's working so geekbench not working oh maybe maybe maybe maybe I spoke too soon I don't know hopefully I spoke too soon maybe I did my downloads folder here um my other folder here so let's try cinebench R15 let me load some of these in here so we'll do the C bench all the older stuff let's see if that works so we'll move them over to the downloads folder well well folks just gonna stick with AMD laptops may maybe so far crashed so far once or twice the and then had a couple of reboots and now we don't we can't get geekbench to work all right so let's try cinebench R15 that's an easy one let's see it's an older one of course just to see what's going to work here again this is a new architecture right so but I'm glad we're doing this live and I'll tell you why because and I we started talking about this um yeah it'd be nice to get it from these Brands and from these companies but I want you to get the experience as a user as a consumer going to Best Buy going to The Big Box store buying it from Amazon or whatever B&H Photo whatever and you're going to see this is the experience and so far intel if you're watching you need to improve the experience yes this is a new processor but I also just got a new processor in the MacBook Pro and I'm not a big defender of Apple you know that but that M3 Max while not perfect didn't have nearly as many as these uh bugs so far so let's see if C eventual work so far it looks okay let's accept the license agreement all right let's run the openg this will test the uh the the arc graphics for the first time we are testing the art graphics and I've been harping on the iris XE needing a refresh well here we have it I'm excited I can't wait to see the results here maybe I'm just crazy I don't know but uh we get some new graphics finally finally and we finally get a benchmark to run it only took what an hour to get something to run here okay so that's running as we have 187 of you watching let's see how many likes I don't know why the like button not updating here 111 likes so do me that favor that helps get spread out all right so this this is a pretty quick test so we'll get some immediate uh results here uh once this uh it's about almost finished and I hear the fans going we'll try the R23 I don't think we'll do I'm going to save 2024 c a bench for the review so right off the bat let's see what the result is you know what iris XE what did we get anywhere from 100 maybe 110 the most at the top end we're now getting 158 on this old test so just keep that in mind the real proof is going to be in the 3D Mark and which I'll do I don't have time to do it today but but we're going to run that in of course in the review let's do the CPU so this is a new CPU core Ultra 7 155h AKA meteor Lake let's see what this one does I couldn't get geekbench to run actually maybe we should try an older version maybe that will run and I think I have one I think I might have one maybe that will work I don't know but the new one doesn't work so 1799 I would say is the same ballpark CPU performance I I don't think it's going to be an improvement there let me take a screenshot I could find where it is there it is okay so that is cinebench uh but let me go back here I might have a solution here so do I have a geek bench an older one I do have the five geekbench five but let's do the 6.1 let me put it here that might make a difference here let me see if that will work I couldn't get 6.2 to work but maybe 6.1 might let me see if I can run it even though I already have 6.2 already let's try it what the hell it's worth a shot the other one didn't work and again I I'll monitor I'm I'm sorry if I'm ignoring your me your comments and question questions but we'll see if this is going to work here I just want to get an idea of what geekbench will do and it looks like geekbench does not work so the both versions all right so we can forget about geekbench for today all right so next we're going to try uh let's do cin bench R20 this will test the CPU pretty quickly now I would do cinebench 2024 I don't know if it's going to take a long time let me download it just to have it and then we'll we may maybe want to do that cinebench 2024 let me download it I don't think it might I don't think it will take that long as we're doing this all live folks what's going on here oh I have to allow that crap okay so let's do it for Windows and that's doing the cinebench R20 things are happening in the background I can see I hear the fans kicking in okay so Norman how are you doing he has the hold on let me add you to the broadcast you have the 14x from last year and that runs cool whisper mode I don't game on it okay let's see this let's do this real quick so far buggy that's the takeaway I'm getting can't run cin bench well no strike that can't run geek bench so far crashed two versions 6.1 6.2 I do have geekbench 5.5 so that's the old version we can try that let's run this real quick and then we'll get we'll try that so according to this it is 16 cores 22 threads again neural processing unit is something new here which will offload some tasks like the B blurred background some of the the AI effects or whatever a lot of it's marketing I think but the end of the day if it offloads it takes a little bit load off the CPU I'm or the GPU too I will definitely uh accept that I will definitely take that any day of the week at this point you have installed all the updates no this is right out of the box yes I need to absolutely Draco Ruiz Draco Draco I guess uh you need to update Asus drivers and windows to the latest version I assume absolutely and again I'm giving you the experience out of the box as a consumer going to the Best Buy buying it and of course that is um what we're getting here SED Ram equals new business for repair shops okay David I can see a lot of buyers sending this one back I'd be very frustrated right I'd be very frustrated spent $1,300 and it's not running the way I wanted to out of the box again new chipset I expect updates firmware updates driver updates certainly will alleviate it but that's not a good look so far send it back send it back it may go back sooner than expected uh we got a good score here though 3295 okay it's all right so I'm not seeing huge increase so far but again nothing's been updated so far all right so that's that let me go back to my drive here I do have a geekbench five here let's try that geek Ben six didn't work off the bat right so let's go back to five so if we go to the downloads here let's try to set that one up good to see one bad van I like that he does a pure outof thebox experience as this is what the average user has to experience and not looking so hot I agree thank you I appreciate that this is what value means to you guys right um because you're going to go to the store you're you have expectations so again they didn't send this to me I bought this as you would and so far not a great experience and geekbench doesn't look like it can run it doesn't look like it's able to run in any version so let me go back here geekbench 5 let's try it again see if this works so this is an old this is an old version I had lying around that doesn't work either so looks like nothing as far as geekbench Works unless we can do some updates I don't think we're going to get it to work all right let's do cinebench R20 2024 let's see let's see if it let's see how long that will take um where is that download there it is let's do 2024 I don't know if it's going to take a long time to load in but we can try it this is just uh you know something you need to be aware of when you're buying a new processor I this is probably one of the first units out the door right I know they just arrived in stores it arrived in Best Buy I wasn't supposed to get it till Saturday but I got the alert today I ran to Best Buy and set the stream up and we're seeing very early bug issues with this meteor Lake and there's no other way to look at this right so I'm glad you're able to see the experience in real time as it's happening as you would experience it if you were to have this unit uh in front of you not some review unit nothing sent over from Intel nothing sent from Asus and I I have good relationship with Asus I have no no problem but again early days here right this is probably one of the first batches to come off the assembly line so to speak and not great results here again crashing Galore so um so we'll have to see hopefully some firmware updates some driver updates will alleviate the problem some Windows updates yeah Raphael agrees true so much value on this unboxing in First Impressions that's why I do it folks uh that's why I take the hit I take the one for the team I spent over what $12.99 plus tax $1,400 and change so you don't have to go through it that's the value I'm giving you so you know so far it's buggy and in all fairness it is early days it's it's probably one of the first batches we're seeing so far so we'll see how this is all going to play out probably got to update some stuff absolutely I'm going to probably have to do another stream or update a video once everything's updated but so far I couldn't get geekbench to work either five or six so geekbench 5 does not work geek bench 6 did not work I was able to run uh cine bench R15 a very old test that worked cinebench R20 and now we're we're going to wait for cinebench 2024 this is a big program so that's why it's taking so long in the meantime while that's doing that why don't we take a look at the camera here so let me load the camera in and again with the npu it should be able to work independently in a sense so let me uh show you what it looks like here so this is a 1080p camera let me uh put it on the video here and so far 1080p 30 frames per second now I don't see any of the effects here but that might be in the Asus app we may have to do it in the Asus app but this is the Windows app and this is Straight Out of the Box uh pretty clear uh again I'll test the microphones and everything in the upcoming review but it's a pretty clear camera looks good there is a shutter switch which you can see here so if I go like this it then obviously you it turns off the camera you don't have any issues and then of course more privacy and everything and then if you need to turn it back on there it is physical it's good good camera quality I agree thank you I appreciate that Jones time thank you Raphael yeah I agree it's good all right so the camera looks okay let's go to the while that's loading in let's go to the my Asis app and let's see if there's anything with the camera here so so you got the AI noise cancelling is on we're going to I'll test all that of course in the upcoming review got the fan profile that's on performance okay let's go back home you got sound modes true life OLED flicker display refresh let's see what that's doing so it's on Dynamic right now it's switching but let's keep it at 120 okay at the fixed oops I didn't mean to close that and then is there a camera app here I don't remember got touchpad function automatic key the keyboard backlight OLED flicker Splendid I know what that is Asus OLED so I don't think uh noise cancelling yes blah blah blah and I think that's it so everything is I don't know where the Blurred background all that stuff it should be there unless it needs to update something I don't know we're gonna have to play around with this let's see customizations here battery care fan mode Hy blah blah blah here's the sound modes so you get all you get the um Dolby Atmos and all that stuff right now it's on music okay and then volume booster OLED care yeah I don't see anything on the camera here okay and that's working in the background as well so so that's cab Ben 2024 that's why it takes so long all right let's take a look at the keyboard while that's doing that so far I like the keyboard now it is a backlit keyboard here and you can control that over here you can see the how good the backlight is on it and pretty good multi-stage backlight again I like the fact that it's the white LED against the dark key so that's been pretty good now the other thing missing here folks and we can put it back over here notice what's missing there's no more of the touchpad numpad right none of that virtual stuff or the Asus dial pad or whatever they called it not the dial pad the the Asus numpad or whatever it was uh no longer get that now this is a glass touchpad and the touchpad actually seems pretty responsive so far in the initial use that I have here but this no longer has that so let me know what you think about all that if you think that's good this is going to take a long time so we may have to move on from this because it's such a big program that's why I usually wait to do that in the uh full review because of this uh big program that's in a bench 2024 so I don't think Andrew has ever reviewed a laptop with these problems but I could be wrong we've had problems Raphael but usually those are either mechanical issues or physical issues uh but something like this is more software based right more os-based new processor here where the drivers are not optimized so I think you're going to see more improvements over time so uh that's just my thought on it and this is what the back of the lid looks like after half an hour or so as you can see you will be wiping it down now for those joining us late the pen should be charged by now so they give you the pen here in the Box as we showed you and having the pen to me is a big uh value ad here because then you're able to use this uh on here obviously it's a pressure sensitive pen you could do artwork you can sketch out uh diagrams and stuff so that's good the the keyboard goes back or the display goes back 180° you can see it there so uh that is good but again the Ponder Blue here the metal backing here does show a lot of fingerprints so you will be wiping it down and then of course having the pen I don't think there's any place to store the pen but being able to take notes and stuff I like that something the Mac can't do and I pointed that out in my review of the MacBook Pro 14 with the m M3 Max so that is something but again they give you this in the Box they give you not only the pen they give you the sleeve they give you the H the um the landport adapter so I think they give you a lot for the money but you also get those same some those very same things for the $6.99 of 2023 14x so I can't recommend people buying this number one I think you're going to want to wait till a lot of these bugs are ironed out and I think the price needs to come down a little bit especially when you can get last year's model for $6.99 and I don't think you're seeing that much of an improvement CPU wise now GPU might be a different story as we'll test everything but this is Intel's first chips set and I agree uh for and it's going to have this launch issues and I think you know we're not even in 2024 yet this was just announced I went out and I bought it again for those joining us late I didn't get a a review unit or anything that was vetted or anything like that this is Straight Out of the Box literally out of the box in fact the box that I got from Best Buy it was in a box from Asus they didn't bother taking it out of the box from Asus that was delivered to them normally you go to Best Buy you get it in the regular box you know the retail packaging what you saw but it was in another box an outer box that they used for shipping so uh hot off the presses basically youu lit it up with this model when they did the roll out the other day but nobody I mean they talked about I guess there were bugs we're seeing the bugs in real real world uh right now all right so let me put myself down there and let me uh let's load in cinebench 2024 this is the first time I'm doing cine bench 2024 live it took a lot long time from I think what I'll do is I'll save it on a drive so we can save that download and and but the install is the is where it took a little little bit of time and the on unpacking it and uh that was also taking time but let's see how let's see what we can get out of this we can do a modified test we could turn off the um minimum duration test or whatever it was and let's go to here let's go to Advanced bench Benchmark so you can't test a GPU right so I don't think it's compatible with this test the arc graphics is not allowing me to even even do that so let's do a custom duration of 5 minutes and let's do the multicore okay let's start off with the multicore and let's see what we get out of that so if you get last year's model at $6.99 to me it's a steal again link for for the for both models this year's and last year's is in the description below but I don't recommend people getting this one just yet let them work out the Kinks the bugs I think if you wait a little bit let's get to the new year and I think we'll get some patches and I think um that's when you should pounce on this and again wait till the price will drop because for double the price here you're doubling the price of last year's model still very viable and especially on sale for $699 for that 14x that was one of the laptops of the year that I did in my 2023 review and I got to tell you it's uh it checks a lot of the boxes you get all these same things in the Box um but you you're not paying the premium that you're paying here for a new brand new spanking new chipset uh according to Ry Merlin order the $699 so you could do a side by side when you do the revisit I could do that I could probably do that I had to give back my review unit because uh they asked for it back obviously they don't they have only have a limited amount of review units and I complied of course what about temperature so let's that's a good point Let's uh let's test the thermals on this we'll test the fan noise so let me get out my um my Fleer camera here and let's test the temperatures thank you uh koku if I said your name correctly so a lot of bugs so far right okay so let me load that in and then we'll get this uh up and running okay so I could tell you right off the bat it's 52° where it's dissipating heat and that's over here so 52° so there's heating up over there but I didn't see anything too bad where you place your fingers as far as the keyboard yeah so it's it's the the vent is there let me do the side yeah 50° where I just told you around this area right now okay and then let's do the underside yeah we got a we got a hot spot here so right here it's about 61° right there and it's pretty hot so that's 61 degrees right there so this is heating up quite a bit so far it's a it's a scorcher uh I wouldn't put this on your lap put it that way not with the 60 60 plus okay so now I'm going to test the uh fan noise and I hear the hear the fan going there's one single fan I hear it going right now okay let me get that ready for so we're looking at about 49 degrees no 49 dbb so it's pretty loud so I've heard worse but that is not quiet folks again it's in the performance mode so so 61 on the bottom 51 52 over here around this area and then as far as the fan noise you're looking at about 48 49 I saw there as far as the decel level so very noticeable so you're seeing real time here people real time what's going on right out of the box so a lot of updates need to happen here I think they need to get this uh optimized and get this under control because that's too hot too loud Okay so so that's my takeaway so far but we'll get our multi-core score I don't know if we're going to do single core if we have time right now we've already been live streaming for what uh what is it oh over an hour hour already wow so we'll get that score camera look good physically the keyboard looks great I I typing on it the touchpad is great no more numpad on the touchpad no virtual numpad or whatever they had that's going on it is a glass touchpad and it does heat up that's what's I'm seeing so far great OLED display fantastic again 2.8k or actually what do they call 3K but it's 2880 by 1800 120 htz Dynamic refresh rate I I'm keeping it at 120 right now so just keep that in mind also 75w hour battery I want to see an improvement of battery life over last year would be great especially with an OLED display I believe it's the same size 75w hour battery now I do have another one that I went out and bought again I'm not receiving anything for some reason from Acer who I have worked with in the past but I went out and I ordered it and it's already here I don't know if we should I'm not going to do it now I want to do a separate unboxing maybe we'll do it tomorrow or save it for Saturday that one has the same processor same Graphics arc graphics that one also has a uh a nice display we'll talk about it's 90 htz it also is I think a 2.8k display so we'll talk about that that's the Acer Swift go for with the brand new meteor Lake processor so the screen does not fold into tablet no it does not it would be neat if it did that that would be the flip version of this which I don't think is out yet so the numpad the number pad it's not here this year the h Pavilion Plus for 900 is way better deal that's a good one that made my list as the best budget laptop of 2023 so is the Asus Zenbook 14 q420 a good laptop for OLED yes that's a good one the Vivo yeah the Vivo books are good for mid-rangers I agree um for some reason they don't send me those I'd like to review those the processor is most likely 100 degrees we I would have no doubt that this is reaching 100° if we're getting 61 60 around the underside and then we're seeing about 50 what was it I say 51 or 52 on below the display above the keyboard where the vent is there uh that's pretty hot right that's pretty hot so thank you William curious if Acer is a bit more stable out of the box I'm debating whether I should get it now it's already over an hour if I I still have it in the box there I ordered it it came in at the same time so I wanted to do one in one but I didn't want to do a double unboxing but because it's this is so unstable I'm curious to see what that would be so this is almost done I I left the 10-minute by the way the 10-minute throttling which is which will tell us a lot actually so let's might as well ride this one out and see what we can do can you swap in your own SSD yes so for those wondering let me bring up the specs for those uh there's a specs and we can go through this real quick and at the end of this when this uh slide goes through you'll see the internals of this I do have the internals a photo of it so you will see what's inside I was able to source that again we just took this out of the box I'm not going to open this up now because we're going to see it in a moment in fact I could show it to you now here it is and this is what the internals look like and you can see it's a single fan for cooling the SSD is upgradeable the ram is soldered in the Wi-Fi card is soldered in and that's a 75w hour battery so yes for you you want you want me to BR you want me to get it out of the box so here's the deal here's the deal let me take this off so I do have the Acer Swift go I was planning on doing a separate live stream or a separate video for that but because this is so unstable I'm not sure if I should just do another unboxing of that one real quick but then we'd have to go through all the process of that and then it'll be hours and I don't want to I don't I don't want to be here three hours to be hon not that I don't enjoy doing this I just have other stuff I have to do but we have something to look forward to right so let's get this score going here let's play it by ear for now and we'll see right now we're at let's like we're going to be opening the Acer up because looks like we have a lot of people asking for that so I may have to go get it it's a long night folks I didn't plan on this um let's put this over with this this is going to be the power cord by the way $9.99 I don't have a link yet I'll I'll put one when we're done $999 so it's $300 less you get a US SBC charger here and that one just went off okay hold on let me get it logged back in and this one looks like it's a 65 watt adapter I think I can't see but let me put it up here maybe somebody else can see better eyesight than me whatever that is okay and then we get some of the Acer do documentation here okay so all kinds of stuff setup guide Swift go 14 it's the sfg1 14- 72 I think and then there's the fsg1 14 72t I don't know which one I have I ordered it from Acer this was not sent by them just for those wondering more documentation here probably warranty information all right let's put that to the side let me uh let me take this stuff out of here little bonus unboxing you get here this is what I do for you guys all right because of it was so unstable I feel like we didn't have a choice and a more basic look here right this is a basic look all right so this this is an all metal design it's uh actually not bad pretty nice you can see it here it's a little blown out from the silver but you can sort of get an idea there it is you can get the idea of it and you can see it here so let's see here can open this with one finger you can Ergo lift hinge nice very nice so here we have the Asus Swift go this is a pretty nice display I don't know if it's a touch display I don't remember but we're going to find out OLED so it is OLED you can see it here it also has a uh a nice camera 1440p camera a little bit supposedly a little bit nicer than that one we'll see and then also inel Evo same processor wqxga plus 2880 x800 display let's turn this on you can take a picture with your phone and then zoom in yep I could have done that but I'm not going to reminds me of an elite book yeah it's a it's a pretty basic industrial look you can see the uh vents over here and it's a pretty nice uh laptop so let's uh take a look at some of the io here so you have two Thunderbolt full ports there you get an HDMI I believe this is HDMI 2.1 we'll double check that us ba which is always good to see Legacy ports and then on this side you get a Micro SD card reader okay that's good nice to see that 3.5 mimer headphone jack you get your second usba port and you get a Kensington lock Port actually a pretty nice Port selection so pretty nice and it goes back as far as you see here so for those wondering you can see it here better you go back as far as you see there there's the Asus in the background doing its thing we're going to get the numbers in a little bit still working but this is actually much nicer than I thought it was going to be at 59 $9.99 I was going to say 599 keyboard feels pretty good feels pretty good let's give a listen pretty nice pretty nice okay let's see if we could turn it on I may have to plug it in but the good news is folks this one is on the right the correct side so let me take it from there and let me move this one to this okay well that's doing that okay that's going to be doing that in the background okay and I can plug this in so let's see if this has juice yeah it's now going on and as you can see there's some indicator lights there letting you know it's powdered on and letting you know if the battery is charging so that's good I don't think this is touch display I don't think this is a touch I think offer it in a touch but not this one yeah this one has a little well let's see screen wobble William let me see not really actually okay fans went off on that one bring them here together okay I'm just this is a first boot so this is going to there Acer went on there for there we go so we're still waiting on that score goes back like there and this one goes back we can do that and there we go all right so that's a first boot $1,000 laptop just keeps getting better just compare this to my Lenovo 2 in1 with a I5 1035 G1 16 gigs of solder RAM for 700 try gaming blender it related College assignments you know right Tech Eagle you're right you are right why do they not include USB on both sides that is a good question you know HP does that that's good so we have our CPU score here 565 um and that's a multicore score that seems low to me right does that seem low to you what did we get on the MacBook we got a a lot higher than that so there's stuff going on here we need to update this there's no question about it all right let me say yes to this let me see if it's a so it's not a touch display it is OLED but non-touch on this one and skip that again we got to go through the initial but hopefully this will be a lot quicker and less buggy so we'll see let me log into my account okay as we have 150 of you sticking around to see this extra bonus round with the acos Swift go okay well I'll keep it up as a replay yeah it seems low to me and I think it's there's something going on with this laptop we're going to have to I'm gonna have to Deep dive into this to line is if it's not going to behave it's going back that's no no question again this is not a review unit and so forth so we'll see tonight you certainly did not get your money's worth return it well I did get my money's worth in the sense that you got to see this interesting live stream as a result so um you gotta you know when Life deals you lemons what do you do you make lemonade so there you go all right so this is going to take a few minutes we'll just do the one Benchmark and then we're going to wrap it up but uh so far very interesting I only brought this one out I was going to do a separate unboxing on this but because because we had such issues with this and we I wanted to see if we're going to have any issues with that and I got to tell you right off the bat this is not a touch display beautiful what the hell is that kind of wallpaper is that hold on what is that wallpaper interesting wow like crippy look at that so that's the wall wait a minute when you move it look at this hold on it like moves that's interesting wall paper all right so this is the display it's bright it's beautiful it's very gorgeous 90 HZ 120 HZ all right let me um wow that's really weird you move it and the it looks like it's a uh it's got like a like a gyroscope or something all right let's continue blah blah blah continue without this data let's go to geekbench I'm just curious if it's a chipset thing that's not allowing geek bench to run or is it this one software wise or whatever combination I don't know but we're going to find out I'm determined to find out let me turn this down it's a little too bright for the camera you paid a premium for the bugs I guess uh just a little background so this for those joining us later I know I've harped on this a few times this is not a review unit neither one of these are they're both purchased with funds from the channel so as I always do I take one for the team early units here these are probably some of the earliest units retail units you're going to find right now so this is probably it folks looks like something you can make with wallpaper engine yeah it's it's kind of interesting ASO looks like it's running smoother so far it's looking pretty good but again let's see if we can get geekbench to run I couldn't get it to run on this one now this display is absolutely gorgeous this OLED these are both OLED so we can let's take a look at some of the specs here actually if we bring it onto the screen here so let me uh see what the display settings are set at here so right now this is what 2880 by 1800 if we go to the advanced display settings this is a 90 HZ there's no Dynamic refresh rate so you either got to do 90 or 60 we'll keep it at 90 uh but I can tell you it's a little trippy this um wallpaper when you you move it around but you don't see it I guess when you're I'm connected to there but it's pretty interesting all right so let's see if that's finished downloading not yet could be my bandwidth is uh from this live stream we still have a very healthy turnout tonight so I want to thank everybody for coming by really good good early units are bound to be buggy yeah absolutely and look I'm just showing you the facts here right I went out and I bought this at Best Buy I bought this one from Acer so these units you see here are not provided so they're not they didn't send me a loaded unit in other words they didn't vet these units they didn't test these units or anything like that this is straight out of the the retail right so this is what you would get if you were to go to the store so that's pretty interesting all right so this is about another minute or two hopefully and then we'll see what we get with that and then hopefully it won't be we will we'll get a good result out of it but nothing to this extent this is this is this is next level bugginess so things are just not running on this the way it should be and even that multi-core score was not I don't I think that was a uh indicative of what it's capable of all right let's make sure this is on the proper settings here let me go again this is running the same chipset here let's go to best performance now what does this be booking.com see this is the other thing I'm not crazy about is like this crapware does anybody know does Acer have a program that we supposed to use here to change the settings here what's this co-pilot so that's co-pilot the AI stuff and again that's all the marketing stuff going on all right so let's just go with what we have here now let me go to the downloads here there's the C so geek Ben 6.2 we'll see couldn't run on this one see if it runs on this one let's see if Acer for the win here so seems pretty Snappy right doesn't seem a little bit more Snappy than the Asus and it may it's uh pretty interesting I'm just curious to see what the with the single and multicore score we're going to get on this and the graphics we'll do the opencl I couldn't get this to run on that so might as well try to run it on this so far Acer's the winner here just for the fact that I can actually run geekbench on this maybe there's a firmware update yeah I'm going to check to see I mean there has to be some updates going on here let me go to the settings here let's see some let me see let me see the Windows updates let's see checking for updates right now we'll see I I'm sure there drama more drama more views I guess so I guess that we got to look at it like that this explains why Aces turned down giving him a review unit they know they know me well I have a good relation relationship I like and they're a great team to work with by the way uh with at Asus so all in all fairness this could happen to any brand even aser by the way but it just happens that this is a new chipset and you're going to have bugs Apple has it with theirs there it's not been smooth sailing there have been I've experienced some bugs on it restart required let me do that real quick on this one but who here we go we got our first result and we seeing a 239 2 single core 12174 so not quite as good single core I think as last year equivalent chip set so we see a little bit of a step back maybe single core and again this is a first run and 12174 is a good multi-core score now let's do the let me let me take a screenshot of that if I could find where the screenshot button is if there is one on this um I hate everybody has it a little bit different here all right I won't worry about that now let me let me minimize that and let's go to this open CL score so this will test the arc graphics let's see if I can get this to run now let me see if this will make any difference let's try it again maybe that update did something maybe not because it was able to run on this let's see if it's able to run on this so we this is where it crashes this is where it crashed last time yeah see we didn't get to the next part so that's where it's crashing something's up something's up on this Apple has bugs how dare me to say apple has bugs oh my God for comparison my M2 air 25 2650 and a 10,000 for Geek Ben 6 by the way so just to give you an example 3200 on the M3 Max that I just did 19,000 plus multicore so you can see a big difference but that's an M3 Max so just keep that in mind uh I like your videos looking forward to your review on the 12 gen X1 Carbon hopefully I'll get hopefully they'll get me that soon these Ultra chips and newly designed fans well I think they need to make sure everything is updated everything is working optimized properly so it'll be ready to go once it is uh released because this is an early unit and a apparently retail unit and apparently there are some issues again there is stuff updating in the background so hopefully that will fix it I have confidence they will here is our score 33,6 39 for the open CL that's for the arc graphics so just to put it into context when we normally did the iris XE we would get anywhere from like 10,000 maybe 12,000 right I think the most maybe yeah that would that's what we would got so you're looking at more than double the performance on that so that's been pretty good I don't know where the screenshot button is on this so we'll have to figure that out but I'm not worried about it that is the score here you can see it here 33,6 39 and on the single and multi-core score 2392 I think it's a step backwards I don't think it's as good as last year 12, 174 we'll see we'll see again early days here early days is this live stream is it uh it's coming in at 4K yes you are seeing everything live here's the live you can see it here this says live I'm not this is not a hallucination I'm here in In the Flesh and Blood all right so what's your takeaway what's my takeaway my takeaway is early days buggy software for the meteor Lake this is just this has got to be updated this one worked a lot smoother kudos to Acer they were able to um get the job done here I was able to run that so I'm have more benchmarks to run on this but for now this is where we're going to leave it so uh very good we were able to see at least one of them working as it should so this seemed to leave and also seemed more Snappy and fluid so we'll we'll we'll talk more about that soon this has a 4K or I'm sorry uh a 1440p webcam let's take a quick look at that let's see see camera rather so this is the camera here and the there's updates going on by the way updates going on on this one so we'll see so this is the camera 1440p Isa quick panel so I don't want to do that okay so you can see it here looks pretty good actually oh and look at that here are the Studio Effects right I couldn't get that to work on the Asus so let's see the video settings here so right now it's 1080p but guess what I could bump it up to 1440p looks really good and there's some other stuff here I don't know what that was but that might have to do with that npu the neural processing unit that will give you a little bit extra stuff here that won't be reliant on the CPU GPU so you could do the auto framing you could do the eye contact and you could do the background blur so far Acer for the win and by the way I could do portrait blur or you could do the standard blur so AC are for the wind right now interesting wow that's a really nice camera I'm impressed I'm impressed with this okay and things are updating back here so I'm I'm confident we're going to get this working okay Williams says it's looking good all right and somebody gave our first thumbs down you probably can't see that but I could see that so somebody gave a thumbs down good for them all right fu I'm on the wrong camera okay all right folks we're going to call it a live stream here the these are some good laptops although this one is a
