2021 YAMAHA WR250F FIRST RIDE!!!

[Music] that's right i bought a 2021 yamaha wr250f but before i get into riding it we need to go back it was a sunny day and having just signed away my kneecaps to mtf finance i was down at my local yamaha dealership to pick up my new bike this model is one i've been very interested in ever since i test rode the 2020 version at a demo day about six months prior first though i of course had to have the sag set up for my weight by josh coppins and ben townley for those of you who don't know josh would have been a world motocross champion if it weren't for a brake failure and ben was a world motocross champion and an ama supercross champion and here they both were banging away on this wr so that i could ride it it was absurd but anyway eventually i swung a league and immediately this thing threw me for a loop hmm you see wr's of old were too heavy too soft and too slow get up to about 75 speed and that was it which never interested me very much but this thing was light and nimble beautifully suspended and it pulled like a truck i had to know more so here i was but this wasn't going at all how i expected i was having an extreme case of one of those days where you feel like you're never fully wake up and it was really annoying me this was supposed to be a special moment and yet all i felt was anxious and self-conscious like i wasn't in control of the situation just listen to my reaction after i'm driving away with my brand new bike all right let's get this out of here are you excited i'm hungry oh come on you're gonna be more excited than that you've been talking about it for months no i no i am excited it's just weird because i had to like go sort out all their finance beforehand and it's like feels like you're signing your life away you feel like oh my god am i making a mistake and then um and then so it's like all of it much on top of that it's like i said i'm tired i mean when we're you're tired you're buying brand new bike but it's uh making me real weird today and making me feel like she's like out of my control but it's it's not like i've i've planned this for a while now and everything's sorted out and everything's fine but that's kind of making it not as like wholesome and it wasn't a nice feeling [Music] but soon enough the bike was in my garage and there was work to do i don't know how many of you have owned an enduro bike before but this was my first one and i didn't realize how involved the process of making it dirt worthy was i had to remove an air box snorkel fit a brake snake swap out the side stand bolt change the exhaust baffle replace the tail light assembly with a smaller off-road one remove all the indicators take the chain enclosure off fit a steel braided front brake line and finally put the handguards it came with on which i found with a bit of modification bolted right onto the back of the lever perches and throughout this process the strangest thing was happening my frustration from earlier had dissipated in favor of pride this was my wr and having worked on it for a bit i now felt like i understood and had a connection with it i couldn't wait to get out and write it now hmm um me foreign hmm yes um hmm uh unfortunately though three laps were all my fragile filmmaker hands out in them so we headed for the bush where hopefully things would be a bit more relaxed this is also the first time you guys will be seeing kanan's new bike he bought a husky te 250i a little while ago and it's been awesome so far just out of interest how many of you would want to see that thing go toe-to-toe with this comment down below if there's enough interest i'll do a comparison uh um [Music] blew that one out there wasn't much to lean on there no couple of sticks oh [Music] you haven't really ridden a bike until you've crashed it so it was actually good to get that out of the way with all the hidden tree roots around the place this trail took a lot of focus to ride [Music] perfect oh hmm um uh i was already feeling pretty comfortable on my new bike so we went in search of something a bit harder and we found it that's a big hop now there's some hard out boys coming around here shall we give it a go yeah after you mate oh oh i puss it out yeah lucky you haven't got a big old pot there mate thank you push push push there we go that's a good place to have a yamaha yeah ah it seemed so much scarier in real life how good that's how to overthink something oh wasn't that bad yeah all right this party yeah it's a bit like that but second time around yes boy didn't even hurt the bike on the ground and basically all that happened after that was i got separated and then lost and the only reason the other two found me was because i sat up on top of a hill with my hivers moto loco gear and they spotted me from like two kilometers away so that was cool mark up for the high vis gear but um the important thing was i now liked my wr i gelled with it all of that buyer's regret from earlier on was gone and i basically couldn't wait to learn more about it and of course what i learned you guys will learn too so be sure to stick around for that not to mention there is a certain bike build
