[Music] we've reached 000 subscribers on my youtube channel and i can't thank you enough i mean i thought it was crazy when we got a hundred thousand and the plaque but two hundred thousand is just something special thank you so much for subbing keep telling all your friends and get them to subscribe it's q a time and we've got so many questions that i've invited my daughter kelly along to read the questions for me because that will make it quicker we can get through more questions say hi kelly hello kelly's my eldest daughter and she loves to cook so not quite sure how this will go but let's get started with the questions okay from terminal lembago i remember you said that you never actually met the queen though you've told us a story about when you saw her walking the corgis and they ran towards you and she laughed if you had an opportunity to go back and actually meet the queen even now would you go no what i said was i didn't meet the queen on that day when the corgis chased me but i've met the queen many many times and i even dance with her at bar moral castle all right from just a thought is your wife a chef as well or are your children interested in cooking as you were when you were young my wife's wendy she's not a chef kelly laxy harry kelly loves to cook lakes he likes to cook harry is not really into cooking just yet erin feltman darren did you get to cook with robert irvine when he was a chef robert irvine was a sailor on the royal britannia and he actually cooked in the galley the sailor's galley down below uh i was up in the royal galley cooking for the queen and visiting dignitaries so i never actually got to meet him robert towner this video is informative but the actual recipe is trash there is way too much fat in the pastry dough and no sugar making a peso will not set up go to julia child he's talking about the tartar tan i think look oh gosh no look listen no sugar i mean there's sugar in the apples there's sugar in the caramel on the top there's sugar in the cream that goes with it how much sugar do you want in a recipe and too much fat you need that fat because it breaks down and goes all creamy and melty no no no julia makes great tartar town but mine is just as good from joe austin i've enjoyed watching your videos very interesting did you get to cook for the queen mother and princess margaret if so what did you cook for them and can you do a video on them please great questions yeah i did i cooked for the queen mother and princess margaret queen mother i think probably one of her favorite dishes was eggs drum kilbo we'll do that dish in a video and princess margaret she loved a dish called rodgrod it's like a red currant jelly type dish and she introduced it to the queen at buckingham palace and we put it on the menus then so a video on that one coming up too james been worked chef darren we bought the seasoning package we really enjoy it i'm curious if you'll be doing any videos featuring these seasonings also interested in which one you would recommend for pork we've been using the balmoral on pork chops and it was delicious cheers well thank you very much for buying the seasonings glad you enjoyed them yeah uh the pork you're using the balmoral that is my favorite i think the juniper really sort of takes the dish to the next level thanks for buying the seasonings from s you forgot to say you were fired for badmouth in the royal family you're an ex-royal family chef who got sacked did you really say that you did oh my gosh okay so uh i wasn't uh fired from the royal family i moved to princess diana when her and prince charles separated and became her chef i used to go back and help do banquets at buckingham palace while i was working for princess diana so not true s i'm afraid i was there for 11 years with the queen four years of princess diana still have a good relationship now and i would never ever badmouth the royal family from karmata darren you've got to show us some recipes from your mom i'm curious to know what kind of food you grew up with i talk about my mom my grandma my family a lot in the videos uh my mom's a great cook even today she still cooks for her and my dad she cooks a full meal every night with meat and potatoes and vegetables um hmm that'll have to get me thinking some of my favorite dishes growing up try for right yeah i think we have to do the trifle from cm bear what's the most difficult dish you have ever cooked and is there a dish you will never attempt to make oh most difficult dish um not really i think a tough one one that really puts you under pressure is the crepe souffle interestingly that dish was in the movie spencer that's a tough one to make but one that i'd never do never attend no i'd attempt any dish i love trying new recipes new dishes that's what makes it fun doing these youtube videos okay from shaquilla excellent video you are the funny chef but try to work clean and tidy i like watching your videos so much clean and tidy i always work clean and tidy in my videos come on road trip food funds is that you in the movie spencer i saw the cast list and there's a character chef darren played by actor sean harris oh my goodness this is so cool it is me well it's not me in the movie but yeah sean harris plays chef darren mcgrady in the movie spencer if you've not seen it this is what we both look like and yeah absolutely yeah it's i didn't know anything about it being in the video i didn't know that i was going to be in there but i've watched it and when that part where princess diana christian stewart says hi to uh darren sean harris that's that brought goosebumps to me i mean that was that was amazing lady ramen please do sunday roast dinner video we've just done the sunday roast dinner uh it's a proper sunday dinner uh i think that it's one of my favorite videos if you've not watched it yet it's here in the list make sure you watch it proper sunday dinner uh you cook proper sunday dinner too right i do here's a clip of kelly doing a proper sunday dinner she's a great chef she loves to cook so new dinner shadow mist thanks for the video just curious at the beginning of the video you said she moved to dallas after the car accident but at time 906 you said when they separated that's a six to ten year gap difference which is it great cooking channel uh we've gotta count the years in there uh it's actually four years and uh yeah i was actually four years with the princess and it's just four and a little bit years uh from the separation to the accident so what i said was true in the video oh james you should push your seasoning line more i bought it and it's great well thank you for promoting that you helped me promote it too yeah check out my seasonings link in the description simon simon robbins that's your wife and kids which one is your wife they all look the same age that's a huge compliment when do you love that this is wendy from twisted soul i just want to know at what point did you convert from saying basil to basil oh i get into so much trouble from this i was born in the uk i've been here for 25 years i still say basil basil basil basil uh i still i still say both from lorna a english yet pronounced aluminum the american way and using fahrenheit instead of celsius see that's another one i live in the united states i can't just go through every single description or word or or phrase i can't do it so i use american because i live here i've been here 25 years as i said so i do say aluminum sometimes i will say aluminium uh but or tin foil but um i i try i try and do a mixture of both 50 hellcat two can you do a texas accent oh stop no i'm not doing that can you see the trouble i'm in already no no takes an axon from corey walker i wish you interacted with your comment section more often oh cory i'm sorry i i do answer all well no i do answer uh the questions and uh go through all the comments myself i don't have uh my team doing that i do it so it's usually when i'm sat at an airport somewhere or waiting for an event that i can actually sit and flick through those so i apologize i will be looking out for any of your comments though from barack obama what was it like flying on the old andovers the real barack obama looks like i don't think so uh the old andovers yeah i remember flying on those with the queen when i started at the palace uh we fly back from balmoral on them queen's flight and the worst part was when prince philip who needed to get his flying hours would actually take the controls and come into land and uh when we got into northall it was like a scene from dambusters as we came bouncing down the runway from george if you could have been a royal chef for any other monarch living or dead british and non-british who would it be there's an interesting one but i think um maybe queen victoria you know imagine going back to victorian era in the late sort of 1800s and queen victoria in the kitchens at balmoral and windsor castle with a hundred chefs she even had chefs in the kitchen that were just there to make curry every day that would have been cool stever417 are you teaching your kids to cook and who does the cooking at home uh cooking at home i cook when i'm home wendy cooks sometimes uh and when i'm when i'm away certainly wendy cooks and then um you love to cook you cook every night right yeah you cook and i think lexi does likes to cook sometimes at college and harry doesn't cook yet but he will soon um from joseph815 looks dry to me oh talking about the chocolate cake it's meant to just if it's meant to be dry that's the recipe you fold in all that butter and sugar and chocolate and then the cookies biscuits and then you pack it all down it's meant to be dry it's dry and crunchy okay from don't think i'm gonna try this one why do they call this tricky part the back bacon kind ironic as it came from the belly whereas the loin on the other hand actually touches the back of the animal uh you mean in the uk you've got it right first time the streaky they call the streaky bacon and the back bacon they call the back bacon because as you say it comes from the back the loin from balsa rock hi darren have you ever cooked for the spanish royalty greetings from spain love your videos i have i remember being at buckingham palace and doing a banquet banquet bank banquet for king juan carlos uh that was fun i remember that i still got the pictures i think okay from gordy brooks sorry but the sponges didn't seem to cook evenly in that air fryer i'm sure your typical oven would have done a better job you know it would have been better cooked in the oven but i was asked to test an airfryer and i said i'll do it as long as i don't have to do french fries or chicken tenders or something in there and so i said yeah let me do a victoria sponge because that's different of course it's not going to be the same but i just wanted to prove that it was fun you could cook something fun in there too okay i'm british louis robinson says i made the cake and it tasted super delicious i will definitely do it again yay good job i hope yours was a little more even and not scorched on the top like mine the racer rich the shame of product placement is it doesn't get discussed how uneven the finished thickness of the cake is because of the airfryer product placement come on i've got to earn the money you watch tv you sit through the ads that pays to make the videos certainly does ours well you know it doesn't look amazing in there and it's not the best way as i said it was just me showing a fun thing that you could actually cook in the airfryer from ih zuk the air fryer is out of stock on amazon with no idea of when it will be back will kaivol extend their discount i've got a lot of airfry questions here haven't we uh i work with kaival on that one video as soon as i do the ones like that where you get a discount you have to jump on them straight away uh i don't work with them anymore it was that one video i don't know if they'll come on in stock but there's plenty of other good airfryers out there get yourself one make a victoria sponge scorch the top and cook it uneven from daf smith why is there a toy dog wearing an eye mask lying there on the table how more weird can it be winston come back with our lego lamb that's winston you've got to watch the earlier videos when we did the video on the queen's corgis and me doing the royal corgi menu and then you'll understand why we have a winston in the videos from tariq latiff hi darren this looks great reminds me of my childhood days back home in derbyshire england derbyshire it's derbyshire that's american derbyshire if you have time can you make a traditional bake while pudding i love maple pudding that's a great idea i've been to baker many times and people have bake or pudding and bacon tart and think they're the same they're not they're completely different so a video on that and the history of them hmm the battling of whose we've got the original recipe and baker derbyshire that'll be a great video yep we'll do that one from doug williams what's left in the pot is also called fond oh in the proper sunday dinner video actually classical french fond is the stock and what's left in the bottom the meat sediment that is the glassage safety things i want to know how did diana celebrate her birthday in the later years of her life what foods were there on her special day you know the princess never really celebrated her birthday with a party she wasn't really into food she saw it as another day we're getting older uh the only thing i remember most about being at kensington on the princess's birthday were the flowers people sent so many flowers and i was up and down the stairs all the time from the kitchen to the back door receiving bouquets for the princess they were fun times from sadie kincaid do you love spicy food if so what is your favorite spicy dish to make i love spicy food indian food's probably my favorite but remember when we were on jamaica on vacation um we were on the beach and i had jerk chicken and it was so spicy i was crying like four glasses of milk to go with it but i kept eating it and eating it and then lately said dad are you enjoying that and i said yes it's amazing it really is she says well if you're if you're enjoying it so much why are you crying it's the tears running down it was so hot and spicy but it's so good hugo and jenny crowell what a lot of nonsense i am of scottish descent and make a recipe that my grandmother made every year when your shortbread is cooked you need to cut it right through straight away otherwise it is very difficult to cut it without crumbling oh okay well grandmother's always right but if you cut it all the way through then it just all falls apart right of course it's going to when you try and move it it falls apart but if you do like i do in the video and how we did at balmoral you actually just score it you can just snap it and it just snaps perfectly give it a try show your grandma too okay from josh love your video darren no hate intended just a joke from back home who won you were the lawnmower okay um no dessert for you thanks for watching we've run out of time we've got loads more questions so we need to do another one plenty more videos coming up soon if you've enjoyed the video give us a thumbs up leave a comment below leave your questions below for the next one too it's been fun kelly thanks for coming aboard on this one we'll have to get in
