20+ Things Satisfactory Doesn't Tell Players in Update 6

satisfactory is an incredible game and though it tells you the basics to get you started it doesn't tell you everything well today i'm going to tell you some incredibly useful tips for new players and more advanced players alike let me know how many of these that you knew in the comment section below and if i've missed any make sure to let me know what they are in the comments below as well also some of these are specific to update 6 but i'll let you know which as we cover them so the first thing is when building foundations you can hold down control for the foundation to snap to the global grid and this will be throughout the world you can also copy recipes from buildables with ctrl c and you can then paste them to other buildings using ctrl p you also don't need to open the buildable you can just point at it and as you can see it's pasted speaking of copying you can copy a buildable by directly pointing at a buildable and then clicking the middle mouse button with your build tool open if you have access to update 6 currently then you can actually do this by just pointing in the direction of that item without having to open the build gun you can change the build style by holding down or clicking r with the buildable out for example you can zoom foundations allowing you to build 10 at a time and you can also do this horizontally you can also change the pipes to have right angle corners by selecting horizontal vertical option or you can go to the noodle for much tighter turns now speaking of buildables you can change the type of buildable by clicking or holding e for the various items but you can also change their materials by holding e and left clicking or right clicking while the radial dial menu is open a lot of people have also asked how to change our factory's color well you can paint items individually once you've unlocked the customizer by pressing x and selecting a swatch and then painting the item now you can also change these swatches but you can also change the whole factory at once by changing the factory color swatch which is the swatch on the top left hand corner another thing that you can do with these swatches is right click them and by doing so it will open up a selection of parts that you can choose this will allow you to tick which parts you want to be automatically painted in this color when you place them down if you're wondering how to get glass foundations these are actually in the architectural tab in the awesome shop under structural frame set the awesome shop also does now display in update 6 what you need in order to unlock the items when you hover over them did you know that you can also get the cyber trucking game this is one of those secrets which is unlocked by sinking an awesome sync coupon an awesome shop coupon into the awesome sink now if you are struggling to see the directions of the inputs and outputs of things being placed you can change the user interface holograms to a different color in the settings under user interface i change my colors to white so that i can see them much more clearly now if you are wondering how to unlock new recipes i've had a few people coming in to stream asking where you can find hard drives in drop pods scattered throughout the world these can be researched in the man for alternate recipes but perhaps the idea of alternate recipes really does stress you out well if that's the case there's a brilliant lo-fi playlist of music in the description below which is dmca free and will calm you do check it out also are you worried about dying while exploring well if you fall off a cliff with full health you won't die you'll always have a slither of health and with update 6 you'll now regain that health slowly up to the full amount of health that you can hold however if you do fall down again whilst you're not at full health you do risk the chance of dying another little update in update 6 is you can write notes by opening up a menu or search bar and then clicking the darker gradient to the right of the screen here you can type public notes for people in your save to see or private notes which are just for yourself also clicking n opens the quick search and you can use the this as a calculator should you wish by just entering in the formula an easy tip to help you with keeping items in line with the rest of your factory is to hold control while placing items it'll snap them in line in most cases whether that's buildables such as the constructors the refineries or even if it's just belts and splitters when it comes to late game you'll find that larger factories do soak up a lot of your frames per second so in order to keep your factory at that buttery smooth 60 fps build smaller arrays of factories all around the map there's also a few more reasons as to why you may want to build with a modular approach to building your factories and i've actually covered this in its own dedicated video which i definitely recommend checking out i'll put a link in the top right hand corner right now so that you can you can see more information about it should you wish our 16th tip if you are building elevators you can change the direction by pressing r and if you are using elevator floor holes you can create a an unlimited elevator height by going from one hole on a foundation up directly to another hole whereas normally we're limited to this particular height at this point if you are finding the video helpful guys do help beat the youtube algorithm by hitting the like button it'll help more people see this video and holster them nice little addition there you can also replace walls by holding ctrl down when you have another wall selected and this will replace the one that you've seen once you click it number 19 you can snap foundations and walls to walkways and barriers if you want to play around with the positioning of particular items for example if you want to make curves using foundations you can do this with the walkways or if you want to change the positioning of walls to create different shapes within your factory you can use barriers so last but not least and newer players may have noticed summersloop and mertospheres these are work in progress items that you can find in game and you will be eventually given a reason as to collect them at a later date uh or at least further down in the development cycle of the game another work in progress item is the sam or except it doesn't actually say for some reason that the work in progress but now you know there's no reason to collect it for the time being i recommend just leaving them for 1.0 and then when the story comes out which they're going to be related to you can go out and collect them but there you are guys 20 things
