when it comes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe there are so many great characters out there that it can be hard to keep track of them all we aren't trying to say the decimation wasn't a horrible thing but it didn't make the casting list a bit easier to go over in the wake of infinity war we're gonna take a look at some Marvel characters so you may have forgotten about guardians of the galaxy we were introduced to the collector who well collects things not to be confused with those pesky Watchers who only watch things the collector has accumulated quite the stash of unusable items over the years but he doesn't limit his treasures to inanimate objects Oh No Cosmo the adorable astro mutt was once a specimen from the USSR space program who ended up making his home in the collectors museum it's safe to say Cosmo has a much happier life than many dogs involved in space programs and many of the people in the MCU for that matter last we checked cosmos still alive and we even saw him in the end credits of guardians of the galaxy vol 2 in the comic books Cosmo has a slightly bigger role and actually joined up with the Guardians maybe if he ever learns to get along with rocket this could happen in the MCU as well now there's a buddy movie I'd watch okay we won't make you admit it but we know you remember the 2008 movie The Incredible Hulk despite starring much beloved actor Edward Norton the movie pales in comparison to Iron Man and was soon nothing more than a footnote in the history of the MCU while some of these characters are gone not all of them are forgotten the Russo brothers confirmed a Betty Ross was one of the victims of the decimation which seemed kind of necessary since we hadn't thought about her in a decade but one enemy the Incredible Hulk who's still around is the abomination Emil Blonsky was once a special ops commando before being injected with a Super Soldier Serum let's just say he didn't have the same aesthetically pleasing results as Steve Rogers especially when he received some of Bruce banners blood eventually he was defeated by the halt and taken into custody but he's still very much alive he's still very much ugly it's hard out there being an actor or being an actor playing an actor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe just ask Trevor Slattery who appeared in Iron Man 3 masquerading as the Mandarin he was struggling with addiction and a myriad of other issues when he was offered assistance from Aldrich Killian it turns out his acting gig wasn't that great and his portrayal of the terrorists Mandarin was a little too much on the nose he took credit for heinous crimes perpetrated by Killian and was eventually captured by Tony Stark masquerading as the Mandarin main Slattery some very powerful enemies including the real Mandarin who had some creative differences with the way he was portrayed all in all this is probably one portrayal Trevor Slattery probably wants to forget about however his career prospects in the MCU have improved after his appearance in Iron Man 3 and soon hopefully maybe we can finally get the real Mandarin hmm the Mandarin is one of those comic book characters fans were so excited to finally see on the big screen although the character has improved over the years the original version was pretty problematic and didn't age particularly well so while we're looking forward to seeing him dig on Iron Man we were wondering how Marvel was gonna pull it off then as we literally mention less than a minute ago Trevor Slattery pretended to be him it was awkward and comic-book fans weren't happy about it according to Kevin Feige the Mandarin was originally going to be younger and have business dealings with Stark Industries but in the end some of his character traits were incorporated into aldrich killian and all we got was a fake version of the real Mandarin we know the actual Mandarin still out there somewhere in the MCU and we're sure whatever he's up to it ain't good if you totally forgot about the character dr. Samuel Sterns quite frankly we don't blame you after all he was in that one MCU movie most of us tend to forget about in the Incredible Hulk the film wasn't terrible but it definitely wasn't good in the movie dr. Samuel Sterns was working on creating a cure for Bruce Banner and it's a little Hulk problem he did come up with an antidote but it was only a temporary one the same experiment at a very different results when applied in emil blonsky who transformed into the abomination yeah we're not doctors but that seems like a worst-case scenario we're also not sure about the legal and medical ethics of getting your page blood in your head wound but that's what Stearns did yeah it caused him to go a little crazy try to bribe lack widow and end up being taken into custody by shield although Pepper Potts once inadvertedly called her trash Christine Everhart is still around somewhere in the Marvel Cinematic Universe we were first introduced to this precocious reporter in Ironman where we learned she was employed by Vanity Fair unlike her comic book counterpart she couldn't write for the Daily Bugle because Marvel Studios didn't have the rights she fills Tony Stark in on what his company's weapons are being used for and later asked him to confirm that he's Iron Man during Iron Man 2 we saw Christine Everhart return writing a page for Justin Hammer in addition to her time spent in Marvel movies she was also a part of a viral marketing campaign designed to promote ant-man she worked for the fictitious news source whi H news front and discussed major MCU events like age of Ultron and Scott Lang's imprisonment as far as we know this hard-hitting reporter is still chasing stories in the MCU ever since the Avengers Tony Stark has primarily been concerned with terrifying inhuman enemies falling out of the sky and it's hard to blame them but rest assured there are plenty of human beings yes they still exist who have it out for Tony and his company Stark Industries one of them is Justin Hammer the CEO of hammer industries he's been an enemy of Tony since Iron Man 2 and has tried to bring down the image of Starks industry however there's only so much of a smear campaign you can have against Iron Man and Hammer ended up doing more damage to his own cause by the end of it he also tried to replicate Tony's arc reactor technology which unsurprisingly backfired terribly hey he's nothing if not consistent oh and he's still very much alive in the MCU howbeit spending his days in prison for conspiring with terrorists Ivan Vanko if some fans are critical about the majority of villains in the MCU there are even more critics about their romantic leads sharing Carter's the great niece of shield co-founder Peggy Carter and followed in her aunt's footsteps as an agent we've seen her risked her life to protect innocent people and do her best to succeed at an exceptionally difficult job and fight for what's right Sharon was eager to prove herself and as far as we're concerned she did one heck of an amazing job other than the creepy fact that he used to date her great-aunt it's not hard to see why Steve Rogers was into her but despite many overhyped Marvel romances this one barely got any screen diamonds seem more like some comic book fan service than anything else Steve and Sharon never shared more than a single smooch but she's still out there in the MCU speaking of romantic interest in the MCU that felt completely flat we have Jane Foster a scientist with a brilliant mind but a sadly underdeveloped personality and a subpar love interest in the Thor franchise when she didn't appear in Thor Ragnarok most of us weren't surprised and even fewer were disappointed but actress Natalie Portman has recently said she'd consider rejoining the MCU and the Russo brothers have made some surprising comments about Jane she hasn't been seen in the MCU since the dark world yet the Russo brothers claim that revealing her status following the decimation would be too much of a potential spoiler what if that mean they wasted no energy claiming that Lady SIF had perished in the decimation making this all the more strange it's possible we could actually see Jane make a triumphant return to the MCU in the comics she takes on the mantle of Thor and even wields me on there we were sad as anyone when we lost yondu udonta at the end of guardians of the galaxy vol 2 he had raced Peter quill since he was a little boy but it turned out yondu had a mentor of his very own mystic ro Gord rescued yondu from a life of slavery and welcomed him with open arms into the Ravagers later when he learned Yeon Doo had been responsible for transporting children to ego he was forced to exile him it turns out even bands of criminals have codes of honor and it turns out child trafficking is a hard no for even this group of extraterrestrial ne'er-do-wells after learning of yondu's bravery and overcome with sadness at his passing the car honored him with a funeral fit for a Ravager although yon dude's gone the car lives on and he's back to his old tricks of going on adventures and stealing anything not nailed down talk about seriously underrated MCU characters Darcy Lewis has been around since Thor and was one of the only bright spots in the dark world one of the weakest movies in the MC use extensive lineup she was working as an intern for Erik Selvig in addition to assisting Jane Foster which it turns out is a pretty high-risk gig Lewis and Foster were obsessed with understanding how the Bifrost bridge worked and we're unwilling to accept the typical Asgardian answer of because magic later when Jane despaired that Thor would never come back it was Lewis who encouraged her to sit it out and when Thor inevitably came back bringing along malachite and his minions Lewis joined it on the fight against them since we haven't seen Jane Foster in the MCU for quite some time and naturally Darcy Lewis has also been missing in action only time will tell if we'll get to see these two reunited okay so considering how recently Black Panther hit theaters and what a big success it was you probably still remember Nakia but surprisingly she was one of the characters conspicuously missing from Avengers infinity war we know two challahs send her to head up the wakandan social outreach program at the end of black panther but what became of her after that the Russo brothers have said that Nikki is probably safe and when asked why she didn't show up during infinity war they alluded to her being undercover this certainly fits with what she was doing when we met her for the first time but it also makes us wonder what role she'll have in Avengers endgame not only are we here to know where Nikita has been but what about will copy he was also gone during infinity war and we can't wait to find out why he hope it's a good reason Marvel Studios the Valkyries are immensely powerful warriors of north mythology and the MCU has their own version of these elite soldiers in the movie thor ragnarok we learned these brave souls had been all but wiped out by hella the estranged daughter of odin but there was a member who survived and her name was Bernie Hilda devastated by the destruction of her comrades she moved to Sekar where she started fresh and got her groove back and I'm just kidding she renamed herself scrapper 142 dabbled in selling humans to the Grandmaster and developed a serious drinking problem she wasn't exactly in the best place when she met Thor who managed to convince her to help him save Asgard she was on the spaceship which was intercepted by Thanos at the beginning of infinity war but we never saw any trace of her the Russo brothers confirmed she made it out on escape pod and survive the decimation the plot thickens you wouldn't think a pile of docking rocks would be capable of stealing the show but thor ragnarok director Tyco oddity surprised all of us not only did he managed to revive the weakest Marvel franchise but he proved just how funny a pile of rocks can be of course we're talking about Borg the alien Thor encounters while in the fighting pits of Sekar Korg was a few pamphlets short of a revolution but he still managed to help out Thor and throw in some funny and occasionally moving dialogue although his pal meek isn't much for talking he's handy with a blade and we were glad to learn he survived the end of Ragnarok Korra and meek were also some of the lucky passengers aboard the Eze guardianship who managed to escape before Thanos can get a hold of them Kevin Feige has confirmed we definitely haven't seen the last of Korg and meek as you probably could have guessed from the name the watchers of the MCU yeah they watch things Stan Lee wasn't kidding when he said Marvel fans are smarter than other comic book fans in particular they like to watch humans and as such are often around as notable moments in human history in addition to making us feel intellectually superior to DC fans Stan Lee was also known for his cameos in Marvel movies a fan Theory began circulating that he was actually playing the same character in all of his cameos given Feige reported loving the idea and accepted it into the Canon of the MCU some fans take things a step further and beliefs the N Lee's character was a watcher which would explain why he was around during so many notable MCU moments we've seen confirmed Watchers and guardians of the galaxy vol 2 and we have a feeling they're still out there watching most people think Marvel started making movies with the premiere of Iron Man in 2008 that may have been when the MCU officially started but there have been a few regrettable entries and Marvel's forays into films and we're not just talking about those mediocre fantastic four movies either seriously look em up they're hilarious one of the first was Howard the Duck which was released all the way back in 1986 the movie is widely considered to be one of the worst films of all time and was a massive box-office flop while it does have some devoted fans most of us assumed to Marvel liked to pretend it didn't exist that was until 28 years later when Howard the Duck showed up in guardians of the galaxy like Cosmo he was a part of the collectors gallery and was voiced actor Seth Green not only did he survive the decimation but he was also originally going to appear an infinity war can we get Howard a gauntlet because that would be awesome when we first met Karl Mordo and Doctor Strange he appeared to be a devoted follower of the ancient one in fact he even criticized Stephen strange for not paying her enough respect but all that changed when he learned how she had extended her lifespan it turns out the revered ancient one had been drawing power from the insidious Dark Dimension which is home to Dormammu and a host of other equally evil things have on finding out the source of the ancient ones power Mordo took things pretty hard by vowing to eliminate all magic users in the world yeah he took it pretty hard when we last saw him he was working on that goal by attacking Jonathan Pangborn and stripping them of his powers although we saw him striding angrily away at one point we have no doubt he'll be back most likely with a vengeance and a serious grudge towards Doctor Strange I smell a sequel audiences all over the world are huge fans of the guardians of the galaxy but we still think of at least one person in the MCU who isn't Aisha is the Golden High Priestess of the sovereign and we do mean she's quite literally golden the Guardians ran afoul of her after being hired to retrieve some annual axe batteries when rock had decided to keep one for himself maybe more than one yeah Aisha may have ignored Peter Quill's inappropriate comments but this was just too far Aisha ordered the Guardians destroyed which was what led them to a crash landing after her fleet was decimated by ego she hired yon new to bring Peter and the guardians to justice but this doesn't work out very well for her either not only is Aisha still alive but she's also still livid and has created a rather impressive way of wiping out the guardians in the future it's something Marvel fans couldn't be more excited about no we're not among the people who can't stand the guardians of the galaxy we're just really excited to see Adam warlock finally enter the MCU in the comic books Adam warlock is an immensely powerful character who's heavily involved with the Infinity stones his arrival into the MCU has been highly anticipated and some were shocked he didn't show up during infinity war he's one of James Gunn's favorite characters and was originally supposed to have a much bigger part in guardians of the see vol do instead I'm simply being born however he ended up involving mantis instead but for you Adam warlock fans out there don't despair Marvel Studios Kevin Feige has confirmed that Adam warlock is sticking around and will be an important part of the MC news feature let's just hope this isn't some classic Marvel misdirection because we can't wait to see more the esteemed at a Morlock Hellmann's emo is one of the best villains in the history of the MCU no not because of his superpowers he doesn't have any of those he's just a compelling villain in a universe where way too many are one-dimensional he's just an average dude with a family that was inadvertently destroyed by the Avengers after deciding he had an honestly justifiable beef with our favorite superheroes he set his mind at tearing them apart from within he managed a pet hero against hero and successfully fractured all the hard work Nick Fury put into his Avengers initiative sorry Nick rather than being captured at the end of Captain America Civil War Zemo attempted to take his own life even though he ended up being captured he still managed to give himself a verbal bat on the back for a job well done we can't imagine his time in custody has improved his opinion of the Avengers what do you think about these characters who are lurking somewhere in the MCU are there any you want to see on the big screen again or would you prefer they stay gone let us know in the
