foreign another spectacular Vietnamese noodle dish I'm loving that broth and the combination of that pineapple the vinegar in there the chilies could not be happier than eating at a place like this [Music] hey everyone hope you're having an amazing day it's Mark Wiens I'm in the beautiful city and vibrant and always exciting city of Hanoi Vietnam and for lunch today oh there's always food that you can smell as you walk down the streets in the old corner for lunch today we are gonna go check out a place that serves a dish called which is noodles I think they have a couple of choices of noodles with fried fish and herbs and soup you could get the dry version it looks really good I've never had this dish before and so I'm excited to go check it out but this is a place that uh is Right within the heart of the old quarter it looks really good I've never been there before but yeah we're gonna go check it out and we're gonna have lunch so it's all coming up right now passing through the market a little bit so this is a little market intersection lots of fresh vegetables in this area fresh meat but then lots of restaurants as well and we come down this which turns into an alley and the restaurant should be down here somewhere oh yeah kind of Narrows and turns into more of an alley down this side very cool oh yes there's the spot right on the corner oh yeah this is the spot oh yes oh I can smell the fried fish in the air okay we're gonna sit right here Chef's Table oh yeah here we go this is my favorite part about Vietnam just pop in a squat on a little stool um and then just the delicious food freshly cooked before you Chef's Table ultimate chef's table and they have I think you can get with soup you can get dry with fried fish and they also have fried fish rolls actually they have an English menu because we're right in the center of the old quarter and smells really good and then I think you can choose different types of noodles they have uh the classic Boon the rice noodles they have the glass noodles and they have red noodles I might try to try the red noodles and we'll get a dry and a soup version for sure you immediately smell the aroma of dill and they're making everything fresh again you choose your noodles I got two the two different versions The the soup version and then the the dry version both of which are looked fantastic oh man and so there's fried fish there's some kind of a other fried Fritter as well she adds on a lot of vegetables green onions um a lot of Dill in the recipe onions and then the broth and then right here on on the front of the table here there's Citrus there's chilies there's pickles there's garlic vinegar there's chili yeah what up well I can't wait to try it oh this is the best the best seat possible okay let's try the maybe we try the the suit version first okay and then I got this one with Boon which is the classic noodle of Northern Vietnam the rice noodles fried fish smells fantastic oh try that broth first [Music] oh that's amazing oh it has a little bit of a sourness and you really taste the flavor of the dill all the dill the herbaceousness oh Dill goes so well with fish let's try some of those noodles oh I tried that little Fried Burger um not totally sure what's in it but it's uh it's still crispy and yet it's absorbed all of that brought it up and then you can never go around with bun it's just a neutral vessel the foundation of so many Northern Vietnamese dishes oh man I love that broth the green onions the dill the coriander in there oh okay the fried fish [Music] good I think it's maybe perhaps a tilapia um just a neutral tasting fish fried it Still Remains kind of crispy if you eat it fast before it absorbs the broth oh that's that's a wonderful bowl of noodles okay let's move on to the the dry version though I guess it's kind of like glass monkey noodles okay or maybe we ordered the wrong I'm not totally sure anyways this is like that's okay um and then lots of vegetables lots of green onions on top of the same Dill I believe and then everything all the same all the crispy fish and the crispy fritters but just without the soup the soup is on the side actually so that makes your your fish remains your official will still remain crispy so that's kind of the benefit of getting the dry version okay let's try some of those noodles with some of that fish garlic and peanuts on here too I think a little bit sweet in the shower and the herbal taste but it's time definitely time to do some seasoning I'm gonna go for some of this chili oil which is really good plump up the heat a little bit there's some vinegar garlic vinegar as well and then we have some of the these are some of the house made pickles I believe okay let's give this a give this a little stir oh yeah I like that garlic vinegar oh man that sourness and that garlickiness the chili sauce um they're shallots the peanuts in there it looks like kind of looks like green onion stalks but it's actually a type of vegetable that he adds to this as well like a stocky vegetable I love being right it's right in the action here so many things going on such a such a like overdose of so many things going on while you eat could not be happier than eating at a place like this and then one more thing we got here are the fried fish spring rolls oh man that's something I don't think I've ever seen one of these it's an entire fried fish roll stuffed with fish might be some seasonings and deep fried into a an egg roll shape um oh really good that's like solid fish with herbs on the inside I think some dill as well [Applause] oh okay because I missed so I ended up ordering the mung bean noodles but then I did see people who ordered the the red noodles so I got one more red noodles got it with soup with pineapple as well and then all the herbs so we have one more one more Bowl to try and then oh man with the red noodles this time which I really wanted to try because that's something I haven't eaten very often I'm gonna add in some fresh chili this time oh yeah oh yeah some of the chili sauce I think I'll go with a squeeze of squeeze this time looks like a calamansi and then the garlic vinegar is amazing oh yes okay we got the of red noodles this time all right and lots of those vegetables that she added as well um oh yeah that's the noodle I was after oh that's so good with that warm broth infused with the dough the shallowness of the pineapple oh man and that herb that vegetable that she's cooking up there with the the stocks it has a unique kind of almost a peppery taste to it oh wow this is it just gets better and better next time I think I would try the the red noodles dry version but the soup they're both really good I'm loving that broth and the combination of that pineapple the vinegar in there the chilies the dill and that fried fish that pineapple shower [Music] and I'm sure a lot of that the flavor from the pineapple has already been released into the the mother pot of broth though hmm this is yet again another spectacular Vietnamese noodle dish and another one that I mean this is my first time to try I've never had it before oh it's so good and this place is extremely popular um the entire time we've been sitting here there's people who've been running in and out so many takeaway orders and it's not even lunchtime yet I'm sure at lunchtime we'll just be pack jam packed all right oh with those fresh chilies in there that's warming me up [Music] okay come on very good okay oh that was extremely warming whoa and look at this place is packed oh that's another gem we might need to come back to but I'm very happy with that Boon Ka or mianca or the red noodles with the fish fried fish but I think I think it's a dish that you will find around Hanoi and Northern Vietnam uh but I'll have this particular place in the description box below that you can come and check out they were really nice and it's in a great location as well very easy to find yet in the back of an alley but right in the center of the old quarter so that's going to be it though for this video I want to say a big thank you for watching please remember to give this video a thumbs up if you enjoyed it leave a comment below I'd love to hear from you and remember to subscribe for lots more food and travel videos and that's gonna be it thanks
