Captain is just misunderstood. He's a big boy. He's 115 pounds. He was surrendered
to us a year ago, and it's just gonna
take a special person to accept all the love that he has. I know your forever family's
out there somewhere. - Captain! You might get adopted today. What do you think? That's okay. Maybe next time. Captain has spent a
lot of time outdoors. This is not uncommon for Great Pyrenees
who might not be comfortable inside on the couch with someone. He probably hasnāt ever
done that in his life before. - Hey, Captain. Are you gonna get adopted today? Weāre not giving
up on you, Captain. Heās got his quirks, but we know
that special person is out there for him. - Sit. Itās been six months since
Captain was surrendered back to us. Youāre tired of being
in a kennel, huh? Youāre ready to go home. We just got a really
promising application in. This one really
stands out to me. Theyāre a lovely couple
named Bruce and Bridgitte. They have tons of acres, so Captain
can have an acre or two to himself. - I looked at a video,
and I got an attachment to Captain. And I just thought, āThis guy
needs a really good home. He deserves it. He really does." We have a miniature
dachshund, and she was getting lonely. And that led us into thinking
about expanding the family. - Come on, Guinnie.
Let's go meet your brother. Here we go. Here we go. - The day has finally come. Weāre taking Guinnie, and
itās like a dream come true. - Do you want to go home today? You want to get adopted? - But Guinnie
has the ultimate veto. You know, if she doesn't
like him, the dealās off. - Heās never really
met a small dog before. So. Hi, baby. So weāll see how that goes. - So handsome. - Come here. Come here. Oh, you like treats.
You like treats. - I donāt think Iāve ever
seen someoneās eyes light up the way that Bruceās did when
Captain entered the yard. - Good. Good. Let it go. - And he did.
Beautiful. - I trained ya! - Letās see how big you are. Let's see how big you are.
Compared to me. Whoās bigger? Who's bigger? No, Iām bigger. No, I'm bigger. - Bruce actually
stretched out on the ground. I can say that in the five years
working at Woods, I have never seen anybody else do that. Hey. This is my pal. This is gonna be
my retirement buddy. There we go. You met Captain. We just knew that she was
gonna get along with him, and we knew that Captain was gonna
get along with anyone. - Itās just so rewarding to
know that all of our hard work with Captain, itās all paying off. And heās finding his forever family. Heās going home. We couldnāt have asked
for a more perfect family. - Good boy! Bye, Cap! - Are you ready
to go to your new home? Oh boy, oh boy. - Thank you very much.
- Bye! We got home and he ran
right in the courtyard, saying, āHey, this is my home now." - Captain is exploring. Oh, he found the fountain. - Whoa! Want to use that tub? He's so excited, so interested. Everybody, brother and sister,
letās eat together. There you go. Oh, and your sisterās saying,
āWhat are you doing up there?ā Itās five oāclock somewhere. Captain is adjusting amazingly well. - Okay, Captain. Easy Street. Lying down to eat your food. - Say hi to Kayla. Oh, look at her. Oh! Youāve got a big head. As soon as I turn this off, youāre gonna
start tearing it apart again, arenāt you? Congratulations, Captain. You hit the lotto. You are adopted. You have a home. Iām trying to say that
without choking up. - Heās found a home,
and heās not going anywhere. - Oh, you look so happy. So contented.
