me yeah tell us about it like what is this just to give you some perspective i've been telling a lot of people who have asked some questions but the previous performance model s was i mean it was an obnoxiously fast car but this thing will trap in the eighth mile what that one did in the quarter mile which is pretty obnoxious wow what did they change to make it that much faster the battery is more powerful i mean the old one i think had right around 700 horsepower this one's got 1012 and it's also got 100 or 1050 torque as well and that's for the wheel or like the the motor i don't know i mean i mean i would assume it's kind of like crank kind of right it's too it's like i don't know if you can do that electric car they might just say that yeah that's what it does because there's direct power right to the first tesla with three motors also yeah so the old one had dual motors this one has two in the back one in the front and the other cool thing about this car that a lot of the electric cars in the past like the big bugaboo was once they get over 60 the power drops off and all that stuff like with these torque vectoring motors and all this stuff they can spin at like 20 000 rpm it's got a crazy carbon fiber tube that's supposed to allow it to it actually kind of you know the the tyconic kind of like takes that one to the next level correct yeah yeah i heard that on the other cars like once you get like 50 battery and stuff it'll actually start performance degrees yeah the performance degrades but in this car it's just like flat lines it's cool i had a p100d which was the fastest tesla suv before this and that car at full charge from a roll would get smoked by this with 10 percent charge my gosh the scary part is he said there's two rear motors and one front motor and it's that fast so you know they're coming out with a four motor one in the future is that true holy crap the steering wheel oh yeah it's about six inches wider i think than the previous it is if you look it's a lot beefier looking i think this was a complaint from other tesla owners because with the steering wheel the way their instrument panel and all that stuff the visibility is terrible it was on the traditional wheel yeah they did that for the cool factor but also to deal with that functionality do you do you like driving it like that yeah you just have to figure out i mean i was going to say for like hand over hand over hand yeah i don't think so what do you do one hand on top one hand on the bottom you just roll it over you can do full u-turns with just like one little turn if they give me the option the future for that or a regular one i'd get that i like it wow nice did elon give the uh the green light for you to drive this thing or are you gonna is he gonna like send the drones in i haven't done anything without that uh wouldn't mind emailing him a video or something be kind of cool [Music] what is this run in the quarter mile well supposedly with the perfect conditions nine two at about a hundred and fifty three nine two yeah i was telling somebody else that i saw a crazy thing online where one guy did it on the street and he ran a nine two something on the streets and then he also ran a 9-4 when it was pouring rain oh my god damn have you raced this i mean just like like hell cats and crap like that on the freeway how mad are hell cats when you smoke oh it's so much fun can you set it on autopilot doesn't do any acceleration that'll tell you what happened here made it a lot better you drove it up here yeah okay every time i get in front of a slow get behind a slow driver i just go around and then back in autopilot real fast i'm more excited because this dude was so scared he pulled up in this amazing sounding twin turbo hyper car and then he's sweating this thing where it looks like every car in l.a not to beat him up too bad but before i came here i'd take out my car seats and all that stuff because oh that was debating i'm leaving them in and going you can't let somebody with the car seats feature yeah wow but i took him out i wanted i wanted to give him a little bit of respect stop playing with my name i want to get to this race cause yeah let's do it so 1000 foot heads up sweet okay let's go [Music] so you got god's golf cart versus a senna inspired vehicle yeah i honestly believe santa beats god in the race i'm just saying he's that good look at what lewis is doing to me right now look at what lewis is tugging at my heartstrings right now oh man i gotta go with my boys mclaren airton my honda connection i'm going mclaren all the way i think in the end i really want to say the mclaren and it looks insane i think the tesla's going to win but i also really just want to go twin turbo v8 so i'm going to go to ballast boys couldn't hold it down it looked like it got faster they didn't need enough for lunch that's the problem i almost ran out of room did you use all of the ceramic brakes oh my god yeah There’s really no competing in a straight line anymore. I think this has many enthusiasts considering what really matters for bragging rights lol.

It’s obvious that ev is the future. I’m really looking forward to what lotus ends up doing with their new project LEVA.

Good god. Even in the roll race, the 720S couldn't outrun the Plaid.

Which is crazy because even bone stock the 720S is absurdly fast from a roll. Like, will hang with some liter bikes and 900WHP+ cars fast. They get even more insane when you start throwing mods at them.

It's starting to be a bit pointless comparing electric cars to ice cars

There's no way that 720S is actually making 1000 HP based on the roll result. Or it could be and the awful wheels and suspension setup are preventing it from putting the power to the ground.

A stock 765LT can trap just under 152 mph in the quarter mile, compared to 153 mph for the Model S Plaid. Simple math tells you that if indeed this car is making at least 200 more HP than a 765LT it should be trapping more than 1 mph faster, and therefore either tying or beating the Plaid in a roll race.

That’s nuts. The thing that impressed me most is the Tesla seats 4 and can almost drive itself, is snow ready AWD and beats a super car for a fraction of the price. Usually you’d have to pick one of those options, not all of them!

I'd still rather be a passenger in the McLaren. I accept that electric cars are the future and I will buy one if I need a daily driver buy I will always aim to have a light ice sports car (ideally a Caterham).
