10,000 SQUARE FOOT TEXAS BARNDOMINIUM TOUR

so one of the misconceptions of having a barn iminium is that you're limited in what you can do but in today's episode we're gonna prove that theory wrong you know what they say in Texas everything's bigger so today we're going to show you a Texas sized barndominium so for all you barndominium lovers you're going to love [Music] [Applause] [Music] okay you ready for this come on inside okay so right off the bat let me tell you some interesting facts about this barn too many number one it's 10,000 square feet yeah 10,000 square feet we have eight air conditioner units you're pushing about 20 tons of air through this thing the architecture is amazing throughout the open ceilings the open ceiling joists the open glulam beams that you're going to see throughout the kitchen and throughout the great room and everything else throughout this build right when you walk into this big foyer of this barndominium you're gonna be entering into the big great room it's not just a small little living room guys this is a 3,000 plus square foot open great room so right off the bat you are forced to embrace the massiveness of this beautiful huge fireplace which is teared up and as you can see there's a mixture of brick and the white austin stone and goes I don't know how hot it is but it's probably at least thirty feet high we have these beautiful stair rails that are ornamental iron with the stained wood steps on each side of this great room like I said this is like 3000 plus square foot great room and it doesn't stop here let me take you up here to this sitting area because this is one of my favorite it's pretty cool got this spiral staircase come up here you could Park here do whatever you wanted to do it's just a lookout you can look back and see some of the architecture over this main great room one of the coolest factors in this great room is probably this open beam now what you see is this is actually a structural beam that is coming to support the upper roof area from this extension from the gable off the front of the house which you'll see but there's a main steel beam that runs through here and that beam is wrapped with glulam beams so the support here is incredible but the look of it is amazing so you can really see what you could do with the steel beam coming through your living room [Music] not only are we taking note of all the amazing architecture in this barndominium but it has an overhead fire protection system throughout you'll notice one of the interesting things which is great about the barn iminium is having an open duct system and you'll see the hanger rods that are placed accordingly but even those look cool and of course the lighting across and the open ceiling [Music] if the downstairs living room was not quite comfortable enough then this is your spot right here so come check this out your upstairs lofted living room it has a entertainment center here a full working kitchen got your range oven dishwasher full work sink microwave pretty much everything you would need right here upstairs and we haven't even got to the kitchen yet so this is just like I guess you call it a token kitchen because everything in this house is amazing okay so another interesting fact about this particular barndominium is they built the building which is in most cases what you would do but they left the bottom open because originally they talked and discussed about using a CMU style stone on the bottom so they beefed all that up it had a lot of support well when they got actually into building it they ended up doing six inch studs on the bottom and the top had your standard Girt walls which were eight inches so on the bottom you don't have big window ledges but at the top you do and you have like a 14 inch window ledge in the windows but these are working nice because they can use them for shelf space and things like that of that nature they used a rock wool insulation throughout and the upper areas had your rolled insulation that came with the building manufacturer and they actually added additional insulation on the ceilings as well in that 8 inch space and then you had your two by fours that were spanned across and that's where they attached all the tongue-and-groove ceiling so that's some more interesting information about the way that this particular barndominium was built okay so I just showed you the upstairs kitchen let's go to the downstairs kitchen okay so walking into this area first is a huge dining table you've got open ceilings open ceiling joists tongue-and-groove ceilings exposed ductwork fire sprinkler system track lighting of course ceiling fans plenty of light in this room massive table coffee bar over that way with ice machine everything that you could imagine right here for a big spread but it doesn't stop there you have this island over this way which could load up with food and then a great big center island in here and the cabinets are knotty alder stain you can see the finishes are a raw stone and brick of course one of the things that makes this kitchen awesome is the wolf brand double oven with the gas cookers and the griddle in the center and the vent hood above of course your backsplash is that natural brick and you know you got your accent Lighting's huge walk area in between here I guess it's about five foot between the island and the cabinet's area so plenty of space I mean huge space here in this open kitchen all right let me show you just one of the bedrooms here this is the lower I would call the lower master bedroom huge open room of course you have some exposed glulam beams in here as well with the huge high ceiling in this room as well accent lighting a lot went into this build with the details [Music] going this way there's actually another office or exercise room multi-purpose use or it could be classified as another bedroom of course you have the open glulam beams and here as well with your open duct system in this room as well [Music] I can hear through the office area which could be another bedroom but it has kind of a back stairs that you can go up for another lofted area kind of on the back access in this barn many feels like it's just going on and on and on but we're actually just some of the back passageways because from the great room and lofted living room areas you can access some of the individual bedrooms this is one of the bedrooms upstairs and then it joins into another bedroom up here [Music] and you can see as we're coming out of those rooms back to this main area so let me show you now the master bedroom let's walk across this one okay so this is the master suite of course another vaulted ceiling in here getting the most space out of this bill wood floor in here with the big base molding encased windows okay so I couldn't resist guys I mean what are you gonna do there's a tub here at least if you're gonna talk about it you should sit in it you know so it's a copper tub has an awesome faucet right here at the spray handle but it actually leads the way in the bathroom so you got his and her toilets his side on the left side her side on the right side and both have access to the shower on the inside okay so this is what I'm talking about you got two accesses to this shower which is a pass through for his side and her side so you got a his vanity over here her vanity over there his toilet over here her toilet over there his closet over here her closet over there or her closet on both sides I mean that's usually what happens right [Music] okay so last but not least what better could go with a texas-sized barndominium then a Texas best shop this is a building that we built it's a fifty by forty two thousand square foot shop with an added 25 by 50 covered parking area
