finally the tears can flow tears the kingdom is here it's incredible to say that it's even better to play it but this is a whole new Zelda game this isn't Just Breath of the wild too this is tears of the kingdom and we've got a whole lot to get ready for it's a bit overwhelming when you start like where to begin what to do I've got huge Maps Sky Maps ground maps all over where do you begin what do you focus on I got you covered we're gonna set you up to have the best adventure humanly possible so toss out that chica slate and get ready for Ultra hand fuse Ascend recall and a whole new slew of challenges enemies quests and more today I'm bringing you the 10 things you must do first in Legend of Zelda tears of the Kingdom as you've probably already figured out you begin your quest on the great Sky Island it's basically the great Plateau but way up there now I don't think you're you're gonna have any trouble with the shrines in this region or navigating the early area but I do want to comment on one important thing that you must do the shrines will probably be best accomplished in this order one then two then three but trust me despite two and three being on opposite ends of a pretty big starting area do not waste your time trying to build vehicles to shortcut your way from two to three don't do it I wasted close to an hour just trying to build the perfect flying machine to get myself across this chasmus Gap I think the game really really wants you to practice some of the techniques they're teaching you and follow the normal progression of how you move around the great Sky Island it'll seem like it's taking you longer link feels slow with low stamina especially if you recently played a souped up breath of the wild but trust me just go the path that they intend get your shrines done and get down to Hyrule so your adventure can truly begin now once you're down there this one I don't think many people are going to recommend but I'm telling you the absolute best story beats are hidden in the geoglyphs on the map don't know what the geoglyphs are they're those big pictures they look like giant glyphs giant drawings on the map somehow they're just like painted on a Hyrule by a freaking massive hand whose hand is that I don't know not my hand but these geoglyphs are mission critical they house Amazing Story cut scenes and tie together amazing characters I will not spoil anything more than that I'm just saying if you see pictures in the map make them a priority do not leave them for later do not say ah I'll figure that out when I get to it go explore the first one you see meet the character there understand what they're about and then do as many as you come across because it is awesome especially for fans of breath of the wild now geoglyphs will progress this story but what about progressing the map just like in breath of the wild one of the early most important things you can do is open up and launch yourself from Sky View Towers anytime you're anywhere near a Skyview Tower I encourage you to go open it up and interestingly a lot of these have side quests or small little tasks associated with them and some of them are pretty nifty make sure that you unlock these towers open up the map because not only does it give you a good view of the ground it unlocks the entire advantage of the sky as well so it's two maps for the price of one make sure you hit your Towers speaking of the sky I really recommend that you unlock as many of the big old gumball machines as you possibly can and what do I mean by unlock them spend at least one zone I charge to see what kind of things pop out of this machine each gumball machine each gotcha capsule machine houses different zonai parts and at first I did not realize this I thought it was completely random but no you're able to track via your map what parts are at What machines and knocking these out early locking down certain locations for flame emitters fans sleds and springs is going to be very beneficial when you need to build things or want to build things as you progress through your adventure anytime you see a gumball machine they're mostly in the sky but I have found a few lower down go to it spend at it and lock it down on your map now the next thing I want you to do is stockpile the heck out of arrows arrows seem to be more valuable and beneficial than ever before particularly because they can be combined with just about anything your good old Arrow now can be a harbinger of Doom it can be a conveyor of a mushroom or an eyeball or something that lights every enemy on fire arrows are a hot commodity and I think if you ever see arrows for sale you should buy them if you ever see arrows littered about you should gather them and if your arrows miss their target please pick them up you will thank me later I promise you the first major Quest that the game sets out for you is gargantuan it's gonna label four phenomena points on the map and say uh investigate now the game is smart in this way and you probably should go do one of these dungeons first alright the acquisition that you make at said dungeon is absolutely incredible you've heard about Dungeons and you've heard about companions so put two and two together and see what happens when you go to one of the four marked spots for your first major Quest I think it really benefits the experience it boosts your arsenal of what link is able to do and accomplish and it just makes the enjoyment of the adventure so much more friendly there's something about what happens once you complete at least one of the dungeons that change the game for me and it really sets this adventure apart from the first breath of the wild game botw is a very solitary lonely Adventure here's the kingdom it feels far more friendly and that makes sense considering the developers intended for hands and links and connections to be the main thematic elements that were jolted into tears of the Kingdom in comparison to its predecessor now caves are everywhere in tears the kingdom and sometimes it can feel a bit redundant you'll see big stockpiles of ore and you might be like ah I'll approach later I don't know what's in there and maybe it's not so good I promise you you can tackle those caves even the new enemy lurking on the ceilings of the caves you can beat them just have a little patience and a little accuracy with those arrows you'll be in good shape but trust me bust out that ore and get big amounts of all the rubies The Sapphires that topazes the ambers the flints and the Luminous stones that you can they are very good for selling and help build up your wallet so you're able to purchase things like invaluable arrows and awesome armor and Equipment there's a ton more focus on fashion in this game and trust me you're gonna want big rupee gains and the best way to get them is finding big ore in all of the many caves running around all these areas is going to be far more fun if you have more stamina and this might be a very similar tip from breath of the wild but one of the things you must do first is complete shrines to add to your stamina bar I can't tell you how important this is here especially because now we have flying and falling incorporated into the game you see once you've acquired the paraglider and you're up in the sky islands your stamina bar directly impacts how far you can fly how far you can travel and how much of the landscape you can circumvent by starting up so high you don't have a lot of stamina you're not going to get very far so I highly recommend that you spend your first eight Shrine currency the light of blessings on stamina increases get yourself an extra half bar of stamina and then consider that fourth heart but the stamina is really Paramount especially when paragliding and it makes the game feel so much better and so much more explorable once you boost Link's little green meter let's go on an item hunt for fire fruit and Ice fruit these are two plants that grow quite plentifully ice fruit in icy snowy areas and fire fruit in more deserty areas but also just kind of around in a lot of places fire fruit and Ice fruit are both able to be attached to arrows and as you probably guessed convert those arrows Into Fire and Ice arrows these are two of the most effective weapons early on in the game and even considering the fusions you can make you can be creative you can make really interesting weapons ice arrows are like Second To None the ability for an ice Arrow to completely freeze an enemy in motion is magical and the effect you get when smashing and bashing that icy shape seems to be multiplied in a way that makes your little old starting link so much stronger ice fruit and fire fruit pop Those Grapes like never before and grab as many as you can they are plentiful so why not last but certainly not least I think you need to make your way to courage Island courage island is an island in the sky near the second tower you'll unlock in the game the first Tower is right where you first land and the second tower is up on Hyrule Ridge it's kind of natural progression if you're heading to the Northwestern portion of the map it's at lindor's brow Skyview Tower launch up and you'll find courage Island shortly below you at courage Island there is a Mini-Game side quest to unlock a Glide shirt and the Glide shirt is going to make all of your aerial Adventures easy because gliding is part of the game when you can't paraglide link just Glides but link has no Mobility the Glide shirt allows him to maneuver even without the paraglider even without burning stamina so as you're falling through the air fast and furiously now you actually have some ability to adjust your position move over some water or get to that Ridge that you were trying to reach and the whole reason you went up to the sky was just to get there the Glide shirt is critical it's easy to acquire so just head to the tower lindor's brow Skyview Tower courage Island complete the little Quest boom you're in business and it is brilliant that's a pretty good list that's a pretty good start that's going to chunk you through the first four five six seven hours of the game and then come back for some Advanced tips plus I've also got details on how to get that Glide shirt which I think will be really helpful so
