right so in today's video I'm going to show you the essential items you need to start a bartering box in case any sort of disaster happens that's long term now the first thing you need is something I like to call white gold and this is sugar soul and starch now to the Egyptian sugar is actually worth more than its weight in gold because it was really hard to obtain unlike honey which people could grow year around so this is something that I would collect a lot of if you were starting off and then this soul and most people underestimate how important salt is and I mean it's not just there to make food taste bad you actually lose sweat through your body and you need to obtain it back and yet again for most people especially people in mind this is a really hard thing to come by and even vital to the Civil War one of the most sought-after items with soul and if you actually read the journals of most of the soldiers that fought in the Civil War you'll notice a trend and that is most of them complained of the lack of salt in the diet so this is a number one I'd recommend stocking up a load of and then we've got starch now starch as everyone knows is so useful for a lot of different things but when it goes into the body it turns into a glue coat and that puts fat on the body and that is something you really need in a survival situation and the reason I call these items white gold is because a lot of people always say stuck up on pricey metals which might help you in a catastrophe but if we're talking doomsday no one's going to care about gold or silver because you just can't eat it the next item is medical supplies so we're talking needle and thread for sewing stitches plasters bandages painkillers anti-diarrhea tablets stuff like that and as well I'm going to add vodka now alcohol can help cleanse wounds and tools used in surgery also if you drink it you can get pissed and it won't hurt as much if you're in a lot of pain but as well everyone wants alcohol so it's a really good thing to stock up on or learn how to make you sell and then they also add rubber blocks because you don't want any wounds getting infected by the dirt on your hand and you don't want people's board on your hands so having rubber gloves is a real useful thing okay now we're going into lighting and I stock up on bee wax and candles so being able to see what you do in the dark is really helpful especially when in the winter it can go dark as early as 3:00 in the afternoon I also stuck up on Matt cheese because you can sell these as easy as a pokemon card in the nineties and then I've got a windup torch now I don't collect battery torches because I honestly believe that the batteries will sell out and people just burn through them incredibly fast so these windup tools are really useful and then some salt oil because you can use oil lamp now I stock up on cooking oil because obviously you can cook with it you can heat treat blades with it and you can actually oil down your tools so they don't go rustic so I recommend stocking up on some form of oil ok now we go onto a touchy subject ammunition now a lot of people say you shouldn't bar away your ammunition because the person will just turn around and then shoot yeah but my personal opinion is if you can trust a person with ammunition you shouldn't be bartering with them at all because they're likely to just see what you've got and kill you anyway so you really want a bar with people you can build a trust with because if they are bullets and is bullets the nutless makes us both stronger and we can both walk out for each other so you really don't want to barter bullets away to anyone you want to make sure they're close friends and people you really want on your side in a fight water purification tablets now you get 50 tablets in one box and every tablet can fill a liter of water so you'd be able to buy these off really easy ok now I've got a tin of seeds and these are different types of seeds for different vegetables now seeds are only useful in a long-term event so if you're really thinking about stocking up for the long term I really do suggest you stock up on a lot of see now human beings for the most part are really lazy and string is incredibly hard to make in the wild so if you can collect anything like string or anything that's hard to make or mass-produce it's a really good idea because rather than people going out of the way to make stuff they would rather buy it and that's why I stock up on quite a lot of strings and different types of cordage ammo on this topic you can also trade tools with people so anything that makes their life easier is sellable as we've learned through history so knives fishing rods a compass stuff like this people will need right now we got onto luxury items people will be incredibly bored once they can go on the phones and the internet stops working so books will be incredibly useful and especially books like this that are full of useful facts and stuff on edible food so stocking up on books like this is a good idea because all the information that you can easily find on the internet won't be there anymore so it's also added cards because like I say if you can keep people busy they're less likely to do stupid things ok now we're on the topic of hygiene now keeping clean is super important and lack of hygiene can actually lead to a lot of diseases and deaths so stocking up on some sort of soap is a good idea also you might like wiping your ass on leaves but a lot of people won't so if you stock up on toilet paper a lot of people will love you now what a lot of people don't realize is eating me especially gaming me gets incredibly boring incredibly fast so if you can stock up on spices this will improve your life and the life of people around you incredibly now normally I wouldn't stock them like this I'd keep them in an airtight container but that being said I actually wouldn't normally use a box like this because this isn't my bottling box mine's already in an airtight container buried somewhere now you don't want to bury it near your home in case you have to get outta Dodge so you want it quite a bit away and if it's buried somewhere only you know that no one else is going to find it but what are you setting off if all you can afford is a plastic box like this I recommend getting these pads and the moisture absorbent and there are actually really big ones and one of these can take all of the moisture out of the car on the inside but they're really cheap so two of them in a box it will keep all the moisture out and then what I do is a sell tape around the outside wrap them in bin bags and then sellotape that shot and why I do this is because most people have a shed or a garage that's absolutely full of crap now as you can see it really blends in well so if someone does raise your house and you have to get outta Dodge there's a chance that they'll overlook it and you can come back later and then claim all your items okay so let's go over the ten items that you need when it comes to bartering in the apocalypse okay so number one you need white gold so that's salt sugar and starch number two is you need medical supplies and a lot of them number three you need a light source so candles windup torches matches and stuff like that number four ammunition and a lot of it number five water purification tablets number six seeds for planting vegetables or some kind of grain number seven corded or tools stuff that people are too lazy to make themselves number eight items that keep people busy so books and playing cards and stuff like that number nine things for hygiene so soap and body washes and a heck of a lot of toilet paper and number ten spices to make food taste
