The
current dungeons in Vanilla Minecraft can only spawn Zombies, Skeletons, and Spiders. That’s a very small slice of the huge array
of mobs we’ve all grown to know and love… or hate. (We’re looking at you silverfish), and beyond
that, they also only spawn underground and can be a pain to find - so we thought we’d
try our hand at reimagining how the dungeons would look if Mojang were to revamp them,
adding more biome-based dungeons that are designed specifically for the mob that is
going to be spawning there. And Sub here is going to be trialing them. Isn’t that right Sub? Let’s see if Sub can handle himself in the
first Dungeon. First up. The Double Tier Dungeon, or the 2 Floor Dungeon. We’re starting off a little more basic,
keeping the same room design as regular dungeons, with the cobblestone and scattered mossy cobblestone,
but building on the design slightly. As you can see, we enter the dungeon just
as you normally would - however you’ll notice there’s only 1 chest and the loot isn’t
very good. There’s also a set of broken ladders leading
downwards. Following this, you’ll find yourself in
a second dungeon level. Now with another spawner to face and a lot
more loot. This would definitely be considered more challenging
than a normal Minecraft Dungeon, and with the added danger of the broken ladders, players
will need to ensure they are well equipped if they want to escape. On the second floor
is a tripwire with a single dispenser of arrows, so watch for this randomly trap, making sure
to destroy the string or empty the dispensers. It’s also important to note that there is
no exit to the second floor, so this really is a dead-end if you don’t play your cards
right. The loot in the second floor chests would
be considerably higher, with items more akin to that of a normal dungeon chest. This design also offers the chance to find
2 spawners rather than 1, and each a different type of mob. This would definitely benefit mob farmers,
and on the other hand, any builder who wants the extra Mossy Cobblestone would sure be
in luck. So Sub, why don’t you try this dungeon,
I’m sure you’ll be just fine! The sky above is one of the most underutilised
areas in the whole game. So we decided to fill that space with one
of the newest mobs. Minecraft is known for its floating islands,
so it was only right we provided them with some inhabitants. Presenting the Phantom Island Dungeon. Appearing at least 200~ blocks or higher,
these dirt islands are rare spawns that have to be built to, by the player (or via enderpearl
if you’re smart). The surface has scattered stone brick pillars
and Stonehenge formations, the tallest of which always having 1-2 Phantom Spawners. Chests also sit above these pillars, and reaching
any of them can be tricky, especially with the Phantoms charging and diving towards you
- Trust me, at this height, you’re really not going to want to fall. What’s special about these dungeons, besides
filling the skies with scenic life and landmarks, is that the chests provide specialised loot,
with potions, gold and enchantments being possible to find here, as well as a very rare
chance to find an elytra - that will certainly help with your journey back down. From the sky to the surface, we enter a Village
for our next Dungeon. Villages come with lots of helpful features
but we wanted to do something special with those villagers that weren’t so fortunate. What happens to all the deceased villagers
after all? A room with graves and wall indents. You’ll need a strong pick to break through
the gates, and soon you’ll find out why. Chests are found in the wall indents, which
require you to dig through stone brick to reach. Chests here would have a higher chance of
spawning emeralds that were buried in honour of the fallen. I guess you’re a graverobber now, Sub. Zombie Villagers and Baby Zombie Villagers
will spawn and rise up from their graves to attack you and protect the hidden treasures. Hopefully with enough strength, and torches,
you can make your way to the end. You did bring torches right, Sub? I don’t think the villagers are very happy
with the disturbance. In fact entering these specific dungeons might
make surrounding villagers angry and less likely to trade with you, so loot with caution!
- and maybe it’s best we got out of town for a bit! Perhaps we should try to make the villagers
happy again, Sub. Luckily there’s a swamp biome not far from
here. Rumour has it a witch has been spotted! The next dungeon is a rare wooden and cobble
entrance with a stone staircase, leading down into the ground once again. To enter, players must craft a lever or button,
as an iron door blocks their way. Inside is a long corridor lit by redstone
torches, leading to a wooden abode. There's a cauldron, and chests on some slab
shelves. Then you notice the two stone cells by your
side. Pulling the lever, you can find and free some
Villager children, before taking on the crazed Witches that are spawning here! Witches provide a dangerous challenge, especially
an entire dungeon of them. Make sure to light up the spawner and escape
with the loot. These witches like to store lots of enchantments,
ingredients and potions, and you’ll also have a chance to find bottles o’ enchanting
here. After clearing away the remaining bats, the
baby villagers will return to the nearest village! Give it a try, Sub - if you know which witch
is which! He didn’t. Let’s try out another good deed and help
the Village out some more. There’s a Pillager Outpost not far from
here, and this is the spot of our next Surface dungeon. Pillagers can be found in travelling parties
and in outposts, but we thought it would be interesting to see what their camps would
look like with a bit of a revamp. These camps can generate in the same biomes
as villages, and iron golems can be found trapped in cages. As well as wool tents and outpost tower, you
can now find Pillager spawners scattered around. 1-2 Ravagers will now also spawn with the
camp, as well as a Pillager Captain. These are a difficult challenge, but with
enough gear you might be able to succeed. The chests here can provide some fun exploration
rewards like maps and various tools. Try to free to golems and get the loot, Sub! Well you tried your best, and that’s what’s
important. But now you’re in the desert, so let's try
to find some water before you slowly die of thirst. That ominous, hazy building over there might
have some! Well it looks like this well is dried up. Oh well… Maybe you should head down and investigate
the strange gargles. This is a Husk Lava Dungeon. Appearing under dried up wells, they would
have a host of tripwire dispenser traps, so watch your step. Some of the arrows may even be dipped in various
desert poisons. What’s worse, the sandstone floor has gaping
holes, with pools of lava burning below. Some lava even falls from the ceilings, so
make sure that the Desert Zombies, also known as Husks don’t push you in! With all sorts of dangers, traversing this
dungeon will be difficult, and while rare to find, the chests placed at the end segments
will provide diamonds, obsidian and mob eggs. Definitely worth the challenge! Don’t you think, Sub? Well we still don’t have water. Perhaps we should head back up and use that
mob egg you found. . Well that was helpful. Now we have some water. Why don’t you go diving. The underwater world is fruitful and filled
with life since the update, and while drowned appear a lot more now, we wanted to provide
more of a challenge in the deep sea other than temples. These dungeons could be found at any point
underwater, and will usually require you to use your boat to scout them out. At the seabed, you'll find a neatly constructed
entrance to a deep shaft. Molten bubbles will drag you down if you’re
not careful, leading to a long, flooded corridor of Drowned. This is surely a test of breathe, with only
2 small pockets to grab some air before diving back down to fight. Trident weidling drowned will be the most
difficult here, but if you’re lucky enough to beat the spawner, you’ll be rewarded
with seastone shelves of 1-2 chests, each containing high value sea-based loot. Shells, coral, breathing enchantments and
fish can all be gathered here. Just make sure to loot quickly or you’ll
drown! Well you’ve died again, Sub. That’s not good. Perhaps instead of starting again, we should
visit The End. It’s quite a deserted place, with only chorus
fruit and enderman on show. Sure there are end cities, but they are far
and few between, and once you’ve defeated the Ender Dragon, there’s not all that much
left to do here. What if you could venture down into the endstone
tunnels and find vast caverns. These open rooms are very easy for Endermen
to use, and only a few endstone columns can help you avoid making eye contact. Sneaky Endermites appear from the central
spawner and can be dangerous in large numbers. Here you go, Sub! Platforms on the walls of the room also hold
enderman spawners! Make sure to take them all out to reach the
highly placed chests. Items you wouldn’t normally be able to get
in the game, or with intense difficulty, such as creature heads, music disks and spawn eggs
will appear here. You sure you’re up to it, Sub? Oh okay -- Just don’t dig too far down from
here, as End Islands are floating above the void after … all... The last two dungeons can be found deep underground. So back down to an underground mine shaft
we go. Cave spider spawners appear here, but we thought
it right to have a type of spider dungeon that rarely appears near these mine shafts
too. These dungeons act like a spider’s nest,
with a dirt and andesite tunnel as the entrance. Cobwebs are scattered around, hindering your
movement speed. Find yourself a chest along here near a water
pool, and a long upward shaft. As you can see, there are multiple layers
of cobwebs and spiders to contend with here. Having to build and fight your way up, you
should try to clear the cobwebs before finding the final chest. While it looks scary, it’s probably one
of the more easier dungeons we’ve looked at today, and loot from here should be similar
to chests inside the mineshaft. Now let’s see how Sub is doing. We’ve had a good run, that’s for sure. But we’ve saved the best, or perhaps in
Sub’s view, the worst dungeon so far. Wandering at the deepest levels of the caves,
you may spot some obsidian. Thinking it wise to mine with your diamond
pick, you are startled to hear the ominous hissing of creepers! These Creeper Dungeons are fully encased in
obsidian and are explosion proof. TNT also spawns on the walls for more damage
and impact when players first enter and trigger a creeper. The obsidian means the dungeons are a lot
harder to mine from the side, and require a frontal fight with the dangerous green foes. While very dangerous, the loot of these dungeons
provides a great reward, with a high chance of diamonds and gold. There is a danger that the items may be exploded,
and the spawner is also protected from this hazard by a wall of obsidian. You’ll need a diamond pickaxe if you want
to infiltrate this dungeon! Sadly Sub, you don’t have one. But you do have knowledge! Go on! … Look out!
