10 NEW Desert Biome Mobs that Should be in Minecraft

grab your water bottles guys because today we're checking out 10 brand new minecraft mobs that should really be added to the desert all desert biome theme some are friends some are foes all of them are fun to mess around with let's check it out our first mob is the rattlesnake oh look at him he's waving at me so rattlesnakes are hostile desert mobs that would be fairly commonly found within the desert get too close and they might poison you as they approach as you can see right here we've been hit with poison 2 20 seconds of it which is pretty substantial but as long as you've got your sword handy you can take them out and they'll drop two special new items or one item we already do know about and one new special item now the item we already know about is the splash potion of poison you could throw this on a mob in question and it would poison the mob this is a rare desert cow by the way just kidding i just i spawned in a cow sorry betsy okay so this other item that we have right here is the rattle which you actually got from killing the rattlesnake it was on the back of the snake and if we were to spawn in another one of these rattlesnakes you'd be able to use the rattle that you got from the previous nick to pacify this one simply right click and as you can see here this mob is no longer interested in attacking us which is extremely useful because if these snakes were common all over the place you would definitely want to get your hands on one of these the next time you traverse this arid biome plus it makes it more fun to look at but keep in mind the pacification won't last forever wait for long enough and the mob will start heading right back towards you but you could oh my gosh fall off a ledge you could in theory just re-pacify the mob if you got nice and close which we've done right there our next mob is the adorable armadillo now armadillos are passive mobs that will roll about when placed in the desert rather when spawned in the desert so we're gonna let this guy do his thing go ahead move around a little bit yeah i literally pushed him and he rolled off oh wow i think he was offended by that look hey come back man i need to talk about you oh he's trying to read the sign that's kind of cute now anyways the whole point of the armadillo is that they will shed fragments over time so we're going to press this little button to speed up things and as you can see right there this armadillo actually gave us part of his shell in the form of a fragment did he just roll off the okay he's safe now if you let a couple of these guys roam around for long enough you can slowly but surely connect uh what i just say you can slowly collect enough shell fragments to make a piece of armor with it alternatively you can actually just kill them and they'll drop shell fragments as well but that's a lot meaner though it is way faster take their shell fragments put them in a crafting table and craft up yourself an armadillo shell which has a few different interesting properties first of all you can weigh oh my gosh well that was one of the properties you can wear it and it will give you a pretty decent defensive buff but its true power is unlocked when you've got some nasty dirty mobs nearby because if you sneak on the ground you'll instantly show up in your armadillo shell and just like that you're essentially pretty impervious to any nearby mobs what's more you can actually get a nice little look around while you're in the shell which you didn't realize means that not only are you seriously protected from mobs when you're in this thing but you can use it to get to some pretty hard to reach places check this out we're in our shell and we're in a one block tall space because we're in our armadillo shell we can reach lower than normal areas of block space this is really useful also you look hilarious now don't blink because mob number three is the road runner yes this is a real creature i thought it was just from those old cartoons now anyways roadrunners will run away from you makes enough sense they're actually pretty hard to keep up with so we're going to try our best to attack them oh my gosh yo his feet literally look like they're spinning like in the old wily coyote cartoons that's funny where did he just go that's an armadillo where'd my roadrunner go ah spotted oh and it looks like he stole he stole an armadillo fragment oh my gosh attacking this roadrunner once though will make it speed up even faster so good luck trying to kill this thing but if you happen to is he going to the caves oh there's a creeper play these games i'm in creative mode now so that we can actually kill this thing or at least attempt to my goodness he is a headache okay then you look bam okay we got him now upon killing the roadrunner you'll actually get your hands on a special new enchanted book what is this book well it is a book containing the speed runner or i guess desert speed enchantment this is an awesome enchantment you can apply it to various different types of boots in game in order to make use of it now the moment we put on this desert speed enchantment well we'll be able to run a lot faster in sand check this out oh baby an instantaneous speed boost i mean look at that and we've even got some particles going up kicking up dust behind us you'll try and catch me and angle happens son check this out bonus here it is a look at its running model oh yeah this is what we're looking look i love it hold on a second yo yo this is hilarious actually look at you you're so funny oh man what a cool animation huh die i i guess this one's invincible now speaking of old cartoons this is the coyote our next mob now we've got a button here to spawn one in but the idea is that coyotes would only spawn in during the night so if you happen to see one out in the middle of the night well there's your chance to take advantage of its special effect it will provide you night vision when you have did he just get mad at me oh maybe i shouldn't talk about it okay let's maintain a safe distance six feet at least okay perfect now the idea here is that the further away you are from the coyote the less likely you are to engage in its special night vision ability again the closer you are to it the better chance you have of night instantly becoming far more visible and if we get closer to the coyote you can see that it happens once again instantaneously now oh boy i didn't mean to that's a preview of it there it is the day switch that's what i was looking for much better oh gosh enough things are on fire so not only do they usually only spawn it at night but they're only usually found in coyote dens as well which are new structures located throughout the desert containing podzol which is buried with loot that the coyotes have found on their adventures apples golden apples wheat coal various things that they may have you know gotten their teeth sunk into when they were checking out some of the desert temples found in the deserts man that's a pretty good haul oh we missed some too check that out eight golden apples yo i want to find these dans all the time nice job dude oh he recognized me and of course it makes sense that the coyote would head for the road runner it's just like a looney tune show look at him he's going to town good luck trying to catch that thing i already lost him needs to set up some acme traps or something or maybe go for the armadillos instead they're probably a little bit easier lunch you saw a preview before but our next mobs are the scorpions both big and small these desert creatures are hostile but only during the night otherwise they'll for the most part you know just kind of leave you alone hang out but interestingly enough they'll also hunt down spiders for one reason or another so if you happen to have a spider nearby well you'll see here that they start going nuts on uh there's they start going nuts on uh what are you looking around are you supposed to okay well depends on their mood i guess this one appears to be in dancing mode okay well the scorpions in question will attack you if you attack them so die see now now he's trying to yeah he's trying to get at me now the regular old scorpions as you can see right there they'll drop a stinger on death but if you're bold and daring enough to attack one of the smaller ones they can actually poison you with their stingers and they also like to dance but they'll also drop a stinger this one being a different color now look closely at my weaponry here the regular scorpion stinger is just a little bit bigger compared to the smaller one and you can use these as a weapon to take out nearby mobs they're not terribly effective but they do the job now more importantly the scorpion that can poison you can also poison mob so that is going to be a very unique weapon in your arsenal it's basically a sword that has poison on it plus i gotta say you look pretty cool just carrying around the tails from the carcass of a mob that you killed and now you're killing other mobs with this tail mob kill death yes i can in fact english our next mob is the meerkat he makes a return oh and he brought gifts these mobs are similar to the roadrunner in that they will try to run from you but the interesting thing is they don't require a road of any sort but you can't tame them if you have the proper food yeah yeah now you want some of this okay hold on a second honey oh i think he heard me scheming come back please i want more apples oh look he's digging he's digging something up oh y'all see he sees the fish now come on up come on there we go yummy now he's my friend yes now dig for me give me more apples ah with any luck we'll get exactly that as the meerkat continues to dig about we should with some time here yeah he got more apples oh he's so proud of himself dude he's looking around he's like did you see me george did you see me i did now you gotta die oh uh-huh meerkat was slain i guess they dropped string too i knew they were holding out on me our seventh desert mob is the camel ooh this one's exciting looking oh yeah i don't know what day it is it's hump day no okay anyways camels can be fed flowers oh isn't that lovely of course you need something beautiful you monster oh look at that that's majestic looking what a shot right there oh my gosh oh he's just trying to attack i don't even have the flowers yet man you can feed camels all sorts of flowers and what's more you can actually exchange the camel's lovely chewing of them for some special potions so why don't you take this poppy poppy for papi hey and you can use the bottle on them and just like that you can see oh gosh we got a potion i don't know what it means but i guess we'll find out huh oh it transformed into a potion of night vision when i was paused let's try that again we're gonna feed the camel another one and look at that just as you kind of wait and sit ah wow so it's slowly look at that the moment you switch over wow that's cool hold on what do we get this time we got a potion of fire resistance interesting so every single time you feed the cam or the flower and then use a bottle on it you get a random potion by chance just depending on when you eventually highlight the potion on your inventory hot bar so check that out we've got a potion of weather wow this may be the most useful mob i've ever seen apparently what's going on is it's mixing the water from within the hump on its back to get you a special type of potion every single time you use it oh my goodness that's cool jump boost poison wither weakness fire resistance saturation night vision yo he's my new best friend okay let's kill him does he drop anything let me no okay well i can get another best friend this next desert mob is the weirdest one yet they're known as desert guardians and they're hostile pyramid-like mobs that are very dangerous get too close to these things and apparently they'll pull you into a different dimension oh gosh whoa where am i i feel like squidward in that one episode alone alone alone hello no seriously how do i get back actually i know how to get back you sneak wait oh oh oh it's not working okay i think i'm stuck it's all right guys i killed myself you'll definitely want to bow and arrow handy to try and take this guy out because without it you're going to get sucked right on back in and if he could just stop moving good yeah got him yo perfect yo this guy sucks kind of oh we got it and look at that he dropped a new item as well we're gonna go check that one out and pick it up right now it's known as the mirage eye what does it do well on right-click it takes us right back into that dimension that we're in except now when we have the mirage eye in hand we can sneak to get back to where we were so now you've got an instantaneous new dimension that that you can mess around with build in at a moment's notice i gosh i keep accidentally going back i didn't mean to hey camel camel you want to come with me does it work like that oh man i mean if you wanted guys you could even technically build your own house inside this place and then you could come back to it at a moment's notice uh or at least pretend like you built the house see i'm good at mirages too look at this little guy it's desert mob number nine the scarab not so scary there's scaraby scabs little mobs that come in groups they don't move at all until you hit them first below is a small cave full of these scarab beetles they'll drop a special item that slows you down but revives you ooh it's known as the scare apparently they dropped themselves oh my gosh should be an easy fight if they're just dropping themselves the whole time so check this okay well there's only two but hey you know that counts as a lot i guess now again you guys suck oh gosh now he's coming for me huh easy does it boys all right so we've got our scarab on hand now look at this weakness two slowness to interesting so in theory this will revive me if i were to fall from a great distance is that the case it is in fact the greatest case of all time i almost forgot words there right english now can we use scarabs to protect us from scarabs that's what i want to know hey attack me stupid hey say stupid hey hey hey stupid hey ein why am i not oh it's because i literally am holding it so even if you're not holding it you can't do anything too interesting okay so now i'm gonna let him just mess me up real quick like it even silences you so that you die in peace and by peace i mean in silence yeah yikes i literally all my sounds just disappeared what did this guy do to me look he's so menacing step back i have a bow yeah yo he sucks and our final mob is the cacti i'm not messing around you can tell the difference he's a little bit diagonally aligned compared to your normal block so at a moment's notice you can't really tell that he's a real thing until he starts going ham on you look at this yo whoa started digging towards me the scariest boy look he's just he just legit hangs out and then all of a sudden he eats towards you oh my gosh easy does it whoa big what happens if he oh gosh yo look at him he's the biggest he's literally hanging out underground for the most part look at that and we got a potion of thorns for our trouble can i dig that guy up i kind of want to see what the full thing looks like it's like he's hiding he legit doesn't want you to know what he is oh my wow dude big real big look at that nasty he's literally like an underground wonder okay maybe if we bring him into the water we'll get a glimpse at what he looks like but either way the potion of thorns upon drinking it will give you the thorns effect which is something that actually is dealt damage to other mobs when you are attacked so even though you can't tell right now this guy is actually taking damage just by being around us let's go ahead and try it with a husk instead we still have our thorns effect and look at that instantly gets thornified i'm gonna die please please stay back i have another potion of thorns i'm not afraid to use it man that was a lot of damage to be honest and that my friends was a lot of mobs desert mobs be exact let us know which was your favorite in the comment section below and feel free to
