hey what's going on guys my name is car kiw and we have fitzy here coming in to update the old sombra tip video three years later hey i'm fitzy here i'm a top 500 somber main and i have about 1900 hours on her as always let's begin with the general tip sombra is an opportunist and good timing is everything a lot of people in the previous sombra tip video were like oh just hack them but they missed the point a lot of these updated tips will still be about hacking but it's important to pay attention to the timing for when to hack the targets etsy will also be grading each hero as low medium or high priority for her hack they'll be indicated by the respective colors on the graphic up top so you can quickly reference this video if you need help figuring out who to focus on hacking mid game and with that let's get it started against diva you can use the translocator invincibility frames to dodge her bomb try to throw it past the diva and hack her from behind as she recalls her mech because ever since the march 2018 patch you need to have direct line of sight of the target's hitbox during the hack animation therefore if you start a hack in front of the baby diva the mech that gets called down will block her hitbox and interrupt the hack hence why you need to get behind her you can also just emp as the bomb explodes to avoid the headache altogether if you have it eve is a high priority hack target against erisa she's not really a hack priority against most comps until it's time to emp this is because her shield will still stay up even if you hack her unlike reiner sigma she also has a ton of armor and can reactively press fortify upon hearing your hack animation when you're anticipating her supercharger in an upcoming fight wait for orissa to put down the shield before using emp allowing you to wipe both the shield and stop the supercharger overall erisa is a low priority target against reinhardt there's a couple ways you can time your hack you can hack between fire strike but you already have to be out of stealth you can also hack him mid charge which can save a teammate and in a 1v1 scenario you can throw the translocator behind him and bait him to turn around and then go for the hack overall reinhardt's a very high priority target since hacking him lowers his shield against roadhog you can obviously hack him while he's healing or hack him at any point during his hook as it cancels the animation even if it's already latched on to somebody you can also count the shots and go for a hack when he's about to reload if he goes for a hook and lands it he won't be able to kill you and remember you can always just translocate out when a hook comes flying in your direction to dodge it overall roadhog's a high priority hack target against sigma throw your translocator midair to hack and cancel assault as he's trying to fly away to hack sigma behind his shield you can throw the translocator over his head and hack while falling this timing is way easier to hit after the sigma nerfs generally you can just walk past the shield wait for his primary fire and then hack in between the shots during the downtime since he can't instantly reshield anymore sigma is a high priority hack target because it lowers his shield against winston shoot the bubble or tell your team to shoot the bubble because what winston's going to do is jump in put his bubble down and then have six seconds in there he gets about half health and then leaves if you notice the winston is over aggressive it likely means he has primal and you can just solo empm before he has primal he'll typically wait until the shield is dead or his hp is low enough to primal and won't really expect that early emp this will also force the player to primal rage onto their keyboard overall winston's a high priority hack target against ball you can just play with your team and wait if you just keep tabs on them you can pretty much remove ball's impact from the game against a good ball you can bait by positioning your translocator behind your team go and shoot the enemy back line and then when the ball commits translocate back and hack him the idea is to make him think huh somber's not here she's in my back line and then you hit him with the uno reverse card overall ball is a very high priority target start your hack on zarya but don't finish it just let go of the hack so it doesn't go on the two second cooldown this will typically force her to prematurely self bubble there are some interesting interactions with bubbles if you emp anyone with a projected bubble active it will still hack them but it will instantly break the bubble and give zarya the energy this will however protect them from losing the shield portion of their health overall zarya is a medium priority hack target against ash your hack stops bob and the best time would be while he's running to a wall or when he's busy shooting one of your teammates or else he'll shoot you and interrupt your hack however if you have an anna have her sleep first and then hack the bob before the sleep runs out to remove him completely from the fight without an ana you can look for an emp obviously still try to hit the enemies don't actually solo emp the bob then hack the bob near the end of the emp duration you can also do this inversely hack then emp to spread out the timing to maximize the time that bob can't shoot ash is a medium priority target and bob is a high priority target against bastion the best thing you can do is get behind his setup hack him and it will take him out of turret form it's all about timing on when your team engages high priority against doomfist the approach is similar to ball keep a translocator in your back line shoot the enemy translocate back and hack alternatively you can just bait your team and hold your hands up doomfist is a high priority target echo will usually go deep after alting to get value you can easily get a hack on whoever she duplicates or emp the rest of her team as they try to push forward packing echo will make her fall similar to farah and mercy making her a good target to spawn kill if she's alone because she typically flies out of spawn translocating can also purge the sticky bombs if she manages to land a lot on you overall echoes a medium priority genji will typically dash in the air before activating his blade since it resets his dash cooldown use this opportunity to hack him you can also hack while he's deflecting although this is much harder these days since he is able to cancel it at any time now overall genji's a high priority hack target against hanzo just win the 1v1 i'm just kidding you're going to lose every time hanzo is just a target you don't go for hacking doesn't change much in the 1v1 other than removing leap but the storm arrow makes this such an unfavorable matchup for sombra sonic arrow can find you in invis and a simple body shot forces you to translocate out every time i'm being honest here genuinely just avoid hanzo wasting your time on him lowers the value summer brings to your team overall low priority against junkrat sauber is great at dealing with his rip tire you can sort of follow him while invis and hack him or kill him during the wind up if you don't know where he is while riptire is active you can go try to find him if possible as a third option you can bait it by shooting while casting the tire and then just translocate out overall junkrat's a medium hack priority the cree is a tough matchup if you choose to unstealth and fight him you will have to stay out of his flash range if he goes for a combat roll towards you translocate out if he lands any shot you have to translocate out since the next headshot can kill you if he uses high noon you can either shoot hack or empm overall low priority hack target against may remember that translocate purges freeze with that in mind you have to keep your distance far enough away to double translocate what's a double translocate you may ask start by putting the translocator down to start the six second cooldown you can fight the may and if she's going for the freeze translocate out to purge the free sticks and you'll have a second translocator ready to go to purge another round of freezing or escape overall a medium priority hack target try to use high ground versus farah so she has to hit a direct remember that hacking a pharah makes her fall down so look for those opportunities or even look for emps to make them fall off the map overall fare is a medium priority hack target against reaper hack right after tp to force an early wraith if he's rafing into death blossom just hold your hand up before he even gets out of wraith reaper is a medium hack priority target against soldier you can get the hack before your team engages and he can still typically get his heal stationed down in general he's not a great hack target because if your team can follow up you might as well just shoot him and save your hack for a higher valuable target overall low priority hack target against sombra get petty ill killer translocator her gun is loud so just wait for her to start shooting and then kill it she'll be stuck in your back line without any escape assert your dominance control the health packs and t-packer on every death overall high priority against symmetra emp cancels wall completely typically what you can do is just hold on to emp and if the symmetra is hiding just wait for her to use it especially if they have a lucio both of them will be hiding and you can just win the 6v4 overall a low priority hack target against torb honestly just kill the turret it's super annoying to try to hack anything while that turret is up if you catch the tour without his overload you can go for the kill otherwise summer can't really get through all the armor overall a low priority hack target the tracer matchup is all about the timing look to hack her or a nearby health pack during her reload phase as it's the only time she can't interrupt you additionally you can save yourself with the translocator if a pulse bombs near you or if you're stuck by one overall high priority hack target against widowmaker you can be on the high ground where she's going to grapple to oh my god you can also set the translocator to where she's going to want to grapple to get close to her shoot her and force her to use gravel and then translocate and be there before she even lands overall low priority hack target anna's primary fire is the damage over time and translocating can purge the damage ticks this means you can really take three shots before leaving i usually wait for her to use her nade first before engaging so i don't have to open with hacking i just shoot try to dodge a sleeve overall anna's a medium hack target against bap immortality field now lasts five seconds after the most recent batters hack also lasts five seconds completely shutting it down in addition look for emps when baff sets up his ant matrix says it will wipe it out along with tagging most of the team since they tend to play near it overall baptist is a low priority hack target since he can get a shift off pretty easily but if your team is trying to go for a grav combo you can set up a hack early before the grab happens against brigitta if you know she has rally you can fake her out by either coming out of stealth right in front of her or by throwing a translocator and acting like your teleport this can force out a rally early and your team can disengage unfortunately hack does not cancel inspire or rally overall brigitte is a low to medium hack priority in general you don't necessarily have to emp against elusio who's holding on to beat just hold on to emp the threat itself will make the game a 6v5 since he won't be healing or speeding his team sometimes this isn't really an option depending on the enemy comp so you have to read the situation if you can't find the lucio you can always emp to force the beat and then have another follow-up ultimate combination such as nano blade to clean up lucio is a high priority hack target since it completely turns off his healing and his speed as well as his wall routing against mercy if your team gets a pick and it looks like you're going to lose a fight you can disappear and wait for the mercy to go for the rez at this point it's a mix between going for the kill or the hack to cancel the res hack's generally safer but if there's anybody else shooting you can get the kill or if she's completely alone you can kill her fast enough during the middle of a fight if mercy gets low and flies away you can keep peppering her from afar and keep her from regening versus a medium hack target overall but low if she's in valk against moira the 1v1 is pretty low risk you're not gonna die and she can easily interrupt your hack and then self-heal when dueling with her better off prioritizing other targets unless she's using your coal lessons then you can just go invis get in position and cancel it she's a low priority target but high when she has goal lessons and finally we have zenyatta the one hero that sombra is super excited to play against emp absolutely wrecks him as it removes 150 hp shield if he's killed you can run to their base and spawn kill him over and over again if you're going to try to kill him just kill him don't try to hack and shoot the only time you want to go for a hack is if you're trying to counter transcendence my favorite thing is just forcing out transcendence by coming out of stealth right in front of him you can also throw your translocator and just cancel it overall a low priority hack target though thank you as always for having me car q
