very specific and particular intention why they are here they make the pilgrimage they make a kind of vow or a promise to be here any time of the year so in other words how not even the pandemic can stop us no in in in going to a place where we find solace and waiting for their turn to be here in the church to hear and celebrate mass there is no fear and i think that is what our first reading is telling us if there is love then fear is eradicated as a gospel if there is love between jesus and his disciples the disciples are in danger it's a ghost and yet they know it's the lord but then when the lord said that take courage do not be afraid [Music] a million experience and yet the disciples saw it in our lives [Music] we are afraid and perhaps some of our loved ones have been taken by by the pandemic by kovid 19 virus even my experience he didn't survive and very few people nowadays would say now everyone in my family survived no your friends your acquaintances and it stops you right there and then wow so what are we to do you think the people will cooperate yeah they will but they will be there as pilgrims if your problems are deep seated and long standing try kneeling and many things pass through our minds when we are on our knees sometimes you know the names of our loved ones the names of those people who asked for our prayers just come to mind and i think remembering them in our prayers is is more than enough we just ask the lord to to remember their names too and remember their own intentions [Music] not because it is a punishment from god but because god with god there is nothing impossible impossible and perhaps while we are still experiencing this pandemic perhaps we can just pause for a while accept the fact that this happens this is not the first time and asked the lord i remember those when we were growing up my sister and i would compete and ask our parents how much do you love us us we will look at the crucifix and perhaps we can ask the lord to in our own terms lord how much do you love us why is there this pandemic or why is there this problem or this challenge that you are sending me in my life is this also a sign of your love for me well we just have sometimes you just have to look at the crucifix and janae sagot how much do you love me lord how much do you love me jesus he's going to say this much that is the only standard of love how much do you love your fiance how much do you love your boyfriend it's a challenge some of my interviewees would stop and they could not say yes so i would challenge them if not maybe this is not the time for you to be well you really have to think about it if you're not willing to offer your life for your [Music] spouse to be ill yes now here and now not tomorrow not after a month not after a year of wedded life that is the standard of love we now stand to offer our prayers and petitions we ask the father in heaven to strengthen our faith and to help us overcome our fears for each intention we shall say father be our strength father be our strength that the church throughout the world may show deep faith in god our father who guides world events let us pray to the lord father be our strength that we may grow in our faith in order to be confident of what we hope for and assured of the things we cannot see let us pray to the lord father be our strength that those who have lost their way in life may be led safely back home let us pray to the lord father be our strength that the lord may grant healing to those who are sick and strength those who are in despair let us pray to the lord father be our strength that those who have died may enjoy forever the fullness of god's saving power which they have always longed for we pray father be our strength we pause for a few moments of meaningful silence and pray for our own personal intentions and the intentions of all those present here in the church and online wherever they may be in this world for all these intentions we pray father be our strength heavenly father we know that anything we ask for in your name will be granted may our ears be always open to your words we ask this through the same christ
