to skimport and use my link in the description down below thanks again to skimport for sponsoring today's video first of all it's essential that you update your GPU drivers for the release of CS2 this ensures that you have proper compatibility with technology such as Nvidia reflex alongside amd's latest driver specifically for CS2 to ensure that you don't run into any GP related stuttering issues glitches crashes for those of you with a little bit of extra time who are serious about optimizing their PC you can actually debloat and customize your very own Nvidia driver by removing the features you have no intention of using reducing CPU overhead and further increasing performance alongside having access to a few back-end options for your GPU to potentially further reduce input latency next up for the windows optimizations just make sure that you go to the bottom right hand side click on your task icon tray and start by right clicking out of any and all applications you do not need open when playing Counter-Strike 2. if you need Discord that's fine but everything else you do not need right click on this then select exit before we dive into any further optimizations I would highly recommend doing a complete fresh installation of CS2 so you only have the latest CS2 files inside of the Cs installation folder if you would like to reinstall the game simply right click on the game navigate down to manage then select uninstall then select download if you do have space available on your local disk C drive I would highly recommend prioritizing that over any other drive on the system some Niche circumstances could fix stuttering issues inside of your game so I definitely recommend giving that a go if you don't want to reinstall the game but you would like to move it over to your C drive to potentially get that fixed anyway right click on the game then navigate down to properties head to installed files on the left hand side then go down to move this game's content to another Drive select move install folder go to the drop down menu and select any folder inside of your local disk C drive then select move we can then choose to free up a little bit of extra storage space from CS2 by right clicking on the game instead of steam heading down to properties going to the DLC tab inside of here you may have the Counter-Strike 2 limited test if you were invited and also the Counter-Strike 2 Workshop Tools if you have no intention of creating your own Workshop Tools or don't need to use them you can uncheck both of these options whilst inside of the properties section it's also worthwhile noting for those of you that did play a lot of Cs go and have older Workshop Maps these could still be inside of your installation folder inside of steam taking up a ton of space simply start selecting the workshop files bear in mind at any time you can head back over to the CS2 Workshop to download newer Maps or re-download these Maps once they've received updates for now I can just go ahead and unsubscribe from all of these moving over to launch options right click on CS2 head down to properties go to General then navigate down to launch options these are still in the experimental phase so there will be a section in the video's description for launch options that you can copy and paste that section will be updated as new updates come out the only option I would recommend going with currently is going to be Dash high as this does still work in CS2 and will raise the priority with inside of Windows once you've booted into the game before we dive into the in-game settings it's highly recommended to take yourself up to the top to play practice competitive enable all options on the left hand side then boot into one of your favorite or most played maps in the game because we're going to be diving into the in-game options and it's best that you have a visual reference I've decided to head over to Nuke I've come to this location head to the settings menu and then top left hand side go to gain first of all start off by enabling the developer console by setting this to yes then go down and apply one of the first things we need to do is unlock the FPS within side of the game for now you can reintroduce an FPS cap later but we need to do this for now to optimize our system press the Tilt key which you can find on the top left of your keyboard above Tab and under Escape then type in fps underscore Max space zero then press enter I'm currently running on the game's default settings for this system and I'm getting about 380 FPS which is fantastic but this system is capable of so much more so starting off with the optimized video settings press Escape at the top left hand side to the settings menu start with video we'll first of all start off with our brightness this is complete personal preference set this low set this High set it to anything that you personally prefer resolution should be set to the monitor's native resolution that you are using this is typically the highest resolution available display mode should be set to full screen and nothing else for the best input latency press apply then come back to this page then go to refresh rate then select the highest refresh rate possible go to the bottom right select apply if you would also like to monitor your your game's FPS at this point it's very simple to do simply open up the console once again by pressing the Tilt key then type in CL underscore show FPS space one then press enter on the top left hand side by your radar you'll be able to see a very fast FPS counter if you're curious about the FPS counter I have on the right hand side I'm utilizing Riva tuner statistics server to monitor my FPS inside of the game and if you'd like to see how to do that for your games or any games on your PC you can check out the video Linked In the description down below you could enable the steam overlay FPS counter by pressing shift tab head down towards the bottom to the settings icon go to in-game go to in-game FPS counter change this to anywhere on your screen I prefer top left and I also like to use the high contrast color as you can see for me in the top left hand side you can see my FPS you can then head over to the advanced video tab boost player contrast doesn't seem to do much now but it doesn't take away from performance so I would definitely recommend having this enabled in case it gets updated in the future wait for vertical sync should be turned off in every single scenario these are the stock settings it's supplied for my system but these are completely wrong on the left hand side you can see the recommended games settings preset that 99 of you should be following along with the recommended preset will ensure that you have the highest competitive Advantage possible by enabling the new Shadows which are available with inside of the game which can give insanely huge competitive advantages whilst optimizing for the best FPS possible leaves you a very clean clear crisp game with a major competitive Advantage with a good texture resolution as well the only options I would potentially adjust is anti-aliasing I would change to cmaa2 if the game is too sharp for you with no anti-aliasing if you have a slight grain to your image although this seems to be fixed change HDR from performance to Quality and if you would like to get a slight FPS increase whilst giving up a small competitive Advantage turn ambient occlusion from medium to off those are the only adjustments I would make to the recommended preset those are the best in-game settings to use on any system for competitive Advantage best FPS possible on the right hand side we have the Esports or low end preset for those of you seeking the absolute best performance possible and you don't care necessarily about competitive Advantage you just want the game to run well on your system once applied to your game press Escape look at the exact same area see what the FPS is like see if you're happy with the visuals potentially still squeeze out some extra FPS by utilizing FSR or Fidelity FX super resolution take a quick look at what your FPS is get onto Fidelity FX super resolution then try out the quality mode but back inside of your game see what the visuals are like and take notice if you receive any FPS uplift if you do and you are happy with how the game looks press Escape go to settings go to super resolution then try out the balanced mode again if you are happy with how this looks and you've got even more FPS you could try out the performance mode decide which one you prefer visually and which one is giving you the best FPS I was only able to see a small FPS increase and the visual loss just isn't worth it for me so I'm going to be sticking with disabled but for those of you on older or lower end systems Fidelity FX super resolution set to a lower setting could be able to save your system and increase FPS drastically if you're still experiencing micro stuttering issues or odd frame time pacing one quick and easy in-game command could potentially fix that by typing in engine underscore low underscore latency underscore sleep underscore after underscore client underscore Tech this is defaultly set to false we're going to be changing this over to true if this command does provide better results on your system and you notice more stable performance this command will reset every single time you reboot the game so you'll either need to manually type out that command every time you boot into the game alternatively you could set it up as an in-game launch option or add it to your auto exec if you have one so with all of the optimized in-game settings to increase FPS out of the way we can now jump into setting up your in-game config adjusting your view model and setting up a few settings I would definitely recommend jumping into for a better overall gameplay experience whether you've played CS go or are brand new to CS2 these are some of the options you should at least be looking into go to game at the top I would definitely take a few moments to go through all the options within some of the game panel just to read them and see what's available to you so you can make the adjustments you would like to most of them are personal preference but a few I would definitely look to adjust is allow animated avatars switching this to no detach silencer on m401s and USPS I would recommend setting to disabled this will stop you accidentally right-clicking in clutch situations with these weapons view model position is something I would definitely recommend playing around with to see what works best for your personal preference for your gun location on screen or radar HUD size I would recommend setting this all the way up to the top to have the biggest radar possible because it's just such a crucial element with inside of the game and radar Zoom I would zoom out anywhere from 40 to 50 percent navigating down to the Crosshair section if you're just starting off in Counter Strike one very handy option which is available currently inside of the game is the follow recoil Crosshair this isn't going to be for everyone but the Crosshair Will Follow The Recoil pattern of the gun you're using which could make it slightly easier to at least understand how recoil Works in Counter-Strike heading over to the audio tab at the top thankfully with the release of CS2 the brand new default audio profiles are fantastic especially for 3D audio the only option you might want to adjust with inside of here is going to be the EQ profile this will come down to your personal preference in terms of hearing if you want to reduce some of the harshness with inside of the game or boost other frequencies I prefer the natural profile but adjusting this could better suit your personal preference the main option you want to keep enabled is the 10 second warning volume and set this to something quite low like 10 this way in clutch situation where the bomb has gone past the 10 second diffuse timer and you don't have a diffuse kit at that point you know the round is over there's no point in going for the defuse you can get out and save your weapon and it's just a great handy tool to have if you would like to make further adjustments to the view model inside of the game here are a few commands you can input to the console to further fine-tune the view model for your personal preference you can also find these two copy and paste from the description down below input the command where you can then make adjustments to the value of the command to change where the viewmodel ends up for viewmodel fov the maximum available inside of the game is 68. view model offset y I'm currently set to zero but if I decided to set this to 2 you can see that my gun is even further out if I wanted to raise it higher in the screen or to the left or to the right you can use all of those values just spend a few minutes finding out exactly where you like to have this placed on your screen so you can find the gun placement that works best for you if you would like to further adjust the brightness with inside of the game to turn down or increase some of the harsh levels open up your console type in r underscore full screen underscore gamma where you can then set this anywhere from one to three a personal favorite value for this though is two point 2. go back into your process settings view model settings adjust those further for your personal preference and at that point you're dialed in for all of the in-game optimizations for those of you that are still experiencing odd performance issues micro stuttering or would like to try out the alternative rendering API for the game as this could provide you with better results there's never a way of knowing without trying all you need to do is close out of the game head over to the launch options then add the launch option Dash Vulcan the game will then boot utilizing the Vulcan API this could be especially beneficial to those of you running on Intel Arc gpus AMD gpus or for those of you on systems that are experiencing odd frame time issues the overall FPS in Vulcan mode seems to be slightly lower but the one percent and 0.1 lows where your FPS drops to those really low numbers seems to actually be higher and do give it about 20 minutes or so or even a full match to see which works best in your system if you are utilizing the Vulcan version of the game make sure that you do also utilize the engine low latency sleep after tick command which can be found in the description down below which you can copy and paste set this to true this will further complement utilizing Vulcan mode inside of the game starting off with the Nvidia control panel or AMD Radeon control panel settings we're only going to be adjusting the settings for CS2 specifically so head over to manage 3D settings in the top left hand side then ensure that you go to program settings in the middle go to the drop down menu if you can't find CS2 with inside of this select add then find cs2.exe then select add selected program navigating down to power management mode and setting this to prefer maximum performance we want to make sure that we are only doing this for the CS2 profile because we don't want our GPU set to this value at all times it's an ever so small FPS increase and will make the image slightly flatter but you can enable this if you wish to do so go to texture filtering quality and set this to high performance next up is to navigate down to Vertical sync and make sure that this is set to off ensure that the anti-aliasing mode is set to application controlled anisotropic filtering should also be set to application controlled and low latency mode should be set to off because we're utilizing reflex with inside of the game we don't want to Stack these Technologies even though reflex should automatically disable low latency mode when enabled we just don't want to run into any potential issues go to the bottom right select apply for those of you that are serious about getting the absolute best performance possible on your Nvidia system it is highly recommended that you download and utilize the Nvidia profile inspector by heading over to Google then finding the GitHub page for orb mu2k you only want to use this version so double check that you are only coming to this URL go to the latest version available which is typically found at the top then go down to the video profile inspector.zip save this to any location on your PC where you'll remember once downloaded open the folder right click then select extract all head inside of the Nvidia profile inspector.exe the Nvidia profile inspector is basically a more advanced version of the Nvidia control panel which allows you to access all of the hidden features in the back end before you do anything head up to the top left hand side go to the drop down menu and simply search for counter then select Counter-Strike 2. once that profile has been selected start by navigating down to section number five where you'll be able to find Cuda Force P2 State turn this to off next up is power management mode make sure this is still set to prefer maximum performance you'll then be able to find the R Bar features or resizable bar options for those of you on an RTX 30 series 40 series Resort anything newer than that you want to be making use of resizable bar inside of CS2 if you want to double check if resizable bar is enabled on your system inside of the Nvidia control panel head up to help at the top then go to system information inside of the section you'll be able to see resizable bar if this is set to yes resizable bar is enabled in your system and we can force enable it inside of CS2 if resizable bar is listed as false or no then it means that your system does support it but it's not currently enabled in the Bios if that's the case please navigate inside of the description down below to find the how to enable resizable bar video goes through all the steps you need to follow along with it's highly recommended that you follow that video to enable resizable bar on your system if resizable bar is supported go to the R Bar feature section turn this to enable go to r bar options set this to the 0x01 setting and rbar size limit should be set to 0x4 we're also going to proceed further down until we find the memory allocation policy change the drop down menu to this to moderate once that's completed head to the top right hand side to apply settings then exit out if at any point you would like to restore the settings back to the default value head up towards the top to the green Nvidia logo select this the profile will be restored back to its default settings go to apply and you've then restored everything for those of you on AMD Radeon gpus open the Radeon control panel head over to the gaming section find Radeon anti-lag and switch this to the on position it's also recommended to make sure that Radeon enhanced sync is disabled any vsync options are disabled and for the absolute lowest latency possible in a high FPS shooter like CS2 I would also recommend avoiding using Radeon chill last but not least if you still cannot fix the micro suttering issues you're experiencing in the game we're quickly going to recommend a bunch of different fixes that you can either Research into yourself or you could find Linked In the description down below under the fixes section number one and easiest thing you can do without looking into any additional fixes is just to run around in a private server or do some depth matching select and fire most of the guns inside of the game use all the different grenades Scopes run through all of the maps and make sure that you're looking in as many places as possible to build the Shader cache up on your system most of these major micro starters are due to Shader compilation issues when the GPU is caching the information in which it's seen for the first time so that it can run next time it happens if you are serious about getting the absolute best FPS possible from CS2 it is highly recommended that you check out the advanced FPS companion video in the description down below this video works alongside any and all of my FPS increase guides it goes into BIOS settings Advanced GPU features and debloating and other optimizations that are just not worth covering in general optimization videos if you've enjoyed this video and would like to see similar content for other games make sure to check out the playlists section in the description down below where you can dive into other FPS guides Windows specific optimizations GPU optimizations or anything PC optimization related or if you're not entirely sure where to go next check out one of the two videos on screen now and I'll see you guys over there
